Used Carruths lumber to to build a house. Good pricing. Working on a second house now, and we ended up using another place because we saved thousands on material, but this other business took 3 weeks and three separate drop-offs w/ several missing items to get the job done.Carruth can get the material faster and with less hassle than other bigger box store places. Although we saved a good amount of change, there was a ton of headache. Its typically better to use a lumber store for material (more efficient delivery, more hands-on care, and less drama). There are pros- and cons- but overall Carruth is good. Thanks.

I have had multiple deliveries to our home in Metairie since the 80s with Carruth lumber.Since than i have always gotten better product and comparable prices than any of those so called box stores..communication and delivery also a plus! Got a delivery today in fact...again I am glad to have alled carruth...by the way i am 67 yrs old and have never written a review before..

I called two weeks prior to my arrival for pricing on pressure treated boards to do some fencing around my home. The price increased a total of 60 cents since I last called. Upon arrival, I didn’t like the outside rock clay entrance, it was messy for shoes and cars. Lastly upon entering it took the gentleman at the desk about five mins to acknowledge me as if I was a bother. He wasn’t really doing anything. If I didn’t need these items to complete my fencing I probably would have left but again things are out everywhere due to Covid 19 times. I won’t recommend them to others though!Part 2 pickup: I sent someone to pickup my pressure treated boards and the load had to be broken into two. The initial load had 18 boards. When he returned the man argued him down that he gave him 20 initially! I could hear him on speakerphone. I immediately called the manager whom indicated he will just give him the two boards. Why would anyone lie about two boards? And the audacity of the employee to argue with a customer instead of getting the manager to take care of the issue. I repeat I will never do Business with this company not recommend them to others. Their customer service is horrendous!

Hands down the best lumber yard in New Orleans. Family owned and operated. The brothers are there everyday and very helpful. There is no other option for small business, homeowners, carpentry crews, etc. Dont hesitate to ask questions. They are very helpful.
