Awesome shop very knowledgeable of German cars. My BMW was previously diagnosed 3 times by 3 different shops and no one could get rid of drive train malfunction after tune up.Was recommended to go to R&S had to schedule an appointment but OMG it was worth the wait. Car was fixed same day informed of other issues I was not informed of by previous shops.Very affordable friendly knowledgeable and professional service.I highly recommend an definitely will be my to go shop from this day forward.

Notice the only complaints are three folks complaining about service. These folks are plain spoken, honest, and hard working. You really cant find many businesses like this anymore. I have a Volkswagen and have to drive an hour minimum to get work done on it because I live out in the country. These folks are worth the trip. Saved me hundreds over a dealer visit, and we were able to have some frank honest conversations about my car that I would have never had at a dealership.

Ray took extra time to get to the bottom of a challenging repair to my BMW. I appreciate his time to properly diagnose and repair my car that I love. Gloria was always kind and helpful. I was slightly nervous about coming here since the reviews are mixed. But Sam and his people are fair and honest, with competitive prices. I have a 12 year old Honda Pilot. Honda’s a great vehicles but can be fickle. Same knew that my car needed Honda brand fluid (not generic), and he put on an authentic Honda belt for my power steering. It was time for my transmission fluid to be changed and I had several other concerns and noises my vehicle was making that he assessed for me. He repaired everything and the one minor thing he couldn’t fix (requires a body shop), he was honest about and pointed me in the direction of someone who would be just as honest and had quality work. I would give 10 stars if I could. I won’t be taking my car anywhere else! They’re also in my immediate neighborhood so going there is ultra convenient. He works on domestic and foreign vehicles and is seasoned in his profession. I’d send anyone here!

I will never go to the Volvo dealership on Veterans again. My car has not driven so well in years and for a fraction of the cost of repairs obtained at Volvo. The staff treated me with respect. Competent, honest, thorough.

Im moving away and went here to get my very old, beat-up car serviced before I left. Im kicking myself that I didnt find this place sooner. Quite simply, theyre the best of all the mechanics Ive been to in New Orleans. Theyre super easy to talk to and honest about what your car actually needs. I had to drop off my car while I was gone for a week and they even stored my car for me after they were done. Really went above and beyond here. Wish I could take them with me on my move!

Really great auto shop. It was recommended by a friend of mine. Ray is not the most approachable guy at first, but he is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and honest when he works on your car. I had to make an appointment a week in advance, so be aware of that. But once my appointment day came, I dropped off my car at 8:30am and it was ready by 2:30.

When I took my Mini Cooper to a tire store in the Warehouse District for an oil change, they told me my rear brakes were rusty and I needed the rotors and brake pads replaced immediately at a cost of $600. I didnt want to pay that kind of money without getting a second opinion. Ive always had trouble finding someone qualified to work on a Mini, so I got a recommendation for R&S from a few other Mini owners. After examining the car, they told me there is slight rust, but nothing abnormal and wouldnt recommend any service at this time. Imagine a business not trying to make additional money! I am really angry at the tire store for trying to rip me off, but Im happy with R&S and will definitely be going back for future auto care.

I have two cars – one old and one new. I bring both to R & S when service is needed. They explain the cars problems and often give me options on the repair as well as the costs. I usually tell them to do what they would do if it was their car needing repair. I have never been disappointed. They are good mechanics and good people. I am a very satisfied customer of R & S Automotive.

They are so nice and most importantly HONEST! :)I took my car there for a second opinion after Firestone on S. Carrollton said I needed a new engine mount. Guess what? I dont need a new engine mount. Ray very clearly explained how everything worked when he gave me his recommendation, which is that nothing needs fixing right now.Thank you R&S!

I brought my truck in one day and Ray had it back to me that afternoon. Honest guy, Ill definitely be going back in the future. I just moved to NOLA and its nice to have a local shop you can count on to not rip you off. The problem was with my starter solenoid, and Ray told me he could either replace mine with something expensive (plus the cost of labor) or just rebuild it for 20 bucks in parts and Id have something just as good as new. You cant beat that with a stick.

Quoted me $645 do to change the brakes on my front drivers side only. I feel the price was inflated so that a diagnostic fee could be charged after I declined the repairs. The fee was $114 to drive my car around the block. Got my money but not my recommendation.

R&S are the Click and Clack of New Orleans. Theyre even more Click and Clack than the real Click and Clack, so smart so honest and so likeable is everyone that works there. If theres a better business of any kind in New Orleans--show me.

Such a great place! I got a truck thats held together with tape and hope...when everyone else was too scared to work on her these guys took us in and gave us a lot more tape and a little more hope.

Very professional and great service

Our daughter is away in college. She started experiencing some car issues. Initially, she took the car to Firestone. They thought it was a minor problem but referred her to the VW dealership for a second opinion. The VW dealership quoted a fee of $15,000 to fix the problem. With these conflicting reports, we sought a third opinion. She took the car to Cacamos and they referred her to R & S. Ray fixed the car for a fraction of the cost. Next time, we will go directly to R & S because they are honest and offer reasonable pricing.
