The disparity of reviews here is puzzling to me. I have been going to Dave for years. Hes worked on many cars for me and my kids over the years, and Ive bought three cars from him. He saved a car that I was about to trash because another very well-regarded repair shop with a 5-star rating told me it would cost several thousand dollars to repair, if it could be repaired at all. Dave knew exactly what was wrong with the car based on my 30-second description AND knew what must have happened in order for the problem to have occurred. (He was right.) He fixed the car for $800. Whenever I go in, visiting with him and Fran is a highlight of my day. My only problem with them over the years has been that they didnt always remember to let me know when my car was ready until I called to inquire. But for the good work they have done for me, I can forgive that!

Dan and Fran are great. Very friendly and kind. They told me the truth about what was wrong with my car and got me into another vehicle.

I bought car from this place. After coming to him several times stating the car was having issues . I went to another mechanic, my struts on backwards. He never fully fixed the vehicle. Dave, I found to be less then forthcoming with the truth. Buyers beware

Took my BMW for what I thought would be the end... They fixed my car for less than expected and the results were amazing... How could I be upset with that !

I bought my 2007 Volvo S80 from Dave about 5 years ago with about a 180,000 miles on the clock it now has 234,000 miles that have been trouble free. Aside from the basic wear and tear and average vehicle repairs this has been one of the greatest vehicles I have ever owned in my 42 years of life at 234,000 miles I am confident Im gonna get 100,000 more trouble free miles out of this vehicle. Dave is honest and fair and shows genuine appreciation to his customers for choosing his facility.

Knew we were purchasing an older vehicle. First service appointment was within a week of purchase and was free. Third appointment within 2 months and a thousand dollars later at the Nissan dealer, the service engine light is finally off. People at Absolute Auto were very nice, I just dont think they were interested in repair, only sales

If you want to deal with someone that is honest, has integrity, and is a person of their word, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!We looked at an inexpensive car for sale that we knew needed some work. I asked what they would charge for the minor repairs and Dave offered to do the repairs. I did not haggle on price. I agreed to pay him what he wanted as it was reasonable. I offered a deposit and he said it wasnt necessary and said he would call. A week later we stopped by to check if it was ready (he had lost my phone # twice) and he said he picked up the materials but had been ill and hadnt got to it it yet (he claimed it would only take a couple of hours). I was ready to purchase the car without the work being done and he said he would do it and, once again, refused to take a deposit.That was last week. Today I stopped in to see how his holiday was and check on when we could get the car and was told he sold it to someone else!We had taken him at his word and believed him, somewhat based on his biblical quotes and relaying that he lived a Christian life. Clearly we were mistaken as he went back on his word and didnt have the courage or decency to call and let us know.

Absolute Auto is one of the best mom and pop shops i have ever been in. They are very very good people here and i would trust them with any work large or small. I hate that i had to move but if i came back to CT i would definitely go to these guys again! Thank you for the awesome work you did on my Mercedes !

This place is great. Family owned, father and son. You wont find more honest people. Very fair and does top notch work.

Would give 0 stars if I could. The owner my family his personal car. We were able to drive this car home and then it started having problems. We have brought the car to 3 separate dealers all who have said the car should have never been sold. Going back to the owner he claims that the car had no problems when sold. Please give a better company your business.

These people clearly have ZERO respect for people and fit the typical Used Car Salesman profile. Tell you anything to get the money and after that middle-finger to you. No, I DIDNT buy a car from there but after hearing the owners own secretary blast him..

I have never experienced customer service or work done as horrible as this place. I was hung up on, talked to like a child being scolded and had the phone slammed down by the receptionist, Fran. I was flat out lied to my face about the work that was done on my vehicle by the owner, Dave. They do not stick to anything they tell you whether it is how much something is going to cost, how long they will have your car, what the problem actually is, etc. Please do not waste your time and money by going here.

Would give zero stars if I could. I had him diagnose a check engine. He(dave) said it was the vapor canister. He gave me a price estimate on the part and said the money spent on the diagnosis would go toward the cost of the repair. he was very helpful in giving me the info so I could see if I could find the part cheaper. He said I wouldnt be able to. I ended up finding it for $175 less than he quoted. After stringing me along for over a month saying he couldnt do it, he finally got it into the shop. I went to pick it up and he charged me for the labor to put it in. His story changed. I explained that I was told the money from the diagnosis would go toward the repair. his response well. you ordered the part yourself so I didnt make any money off of it(from the beginning he said he wasnt going to be making any money off the part itself). He then said that it took time for him to find the crank to lower the spare tire to get to the part(I guess I had to pay him for his ignorance) and that he had trouble because there was some rust. well yeah. there will be rust underneath an automobile. In the end he was misleading with his information and didnt value me as a customer because he strung me along since he wasnt making a lot of money off the job.... On the positive side. The girl running the front desk was very nice.

Customer service is terrible, my car never got fixed. If anything it got worse! They’d have my car for over a week and I would still see it sitting in the same spot. The receptionist is less than friendly as well. Never will go here again. If I could give 0 stars I would!!
