Second time going! Our tour guide Kesla was great! Very knowledgeable! She seemed to really enjoy what she does!
Americas oldest rice mill. Great rice and phenomenal spices. Their spices are the real deal and superior to all others. Super friendly staff that always has some free coffee available. Mill tours offered at 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm. Go for the Wild pecan rice and Greek seasoning (salt free Creole seasoning too!). Only 30 minutes south of Lafayette via 90 (but leave using the back way, 31, and stop to see Longfellow historic site, and Louisianas oldest state park just north in St. Martinville
I visited the store from Baton Rouge while in town visiting my son and niece. I browsed the whole store and found some cute wooden bunny cutouts with a tray of watercolors attached with a piece of twine. I didn’t see a price tag anywhere so I asked how much. $8 I was told. I saw a charge of $15.99 on the receipt and asked if that was for the 2 bunnies and she replied yes. When I got home I realized I’d been charged $15.99 each! I called to ask for credit to the price I’d been told and I was told I could return them for credit (a 2 hour drive, mind you!) but they couldn’t offer any adjustment in price since I looked at the receipt. Not very good customer service!
This needs to be a Must See place if you are visiting the area. The products in the store are wonderful. In addition to various types of rice, they have a terrific line of spices, coating mixes, hot sauces, they have some gluton free items. The slide show is interesting. Tour of the mill is fascinating.
Thus was an interesting place to visit. Employees are great and tour was good of rice mill
Great people, great products.
Just a place everyone should visit when in the area! Very interesting, and different items to buy that you dont get to buy everyday.
A sweet and quaint Country Store with a vibe of times gone by
Love the pecan rice
Its nice, but nothing more. Not worth the detour. The film of the beginning dates from the end of the 70s, so to avoid. By cons against the guide was nice!
