Went there for the first time to see what the hype was about. The donuts look so inviting. But it’s just overpriced donuts that taste awful. Even my kid was so excited to pick out which ever she wanted and for us to do a donut challenge-she stopped a few bites in and we literally just took a bite out of each donut and threw them away. Total waste. Disgusting. Don’t bother, want a better option? Whitney donut in Hamden is great. They just don’t have fancy looking donuts like this place but the taste and quality is there!
Fantastic and unique donuts. My favorite that we got was the caramel cheesecake donut. Upper right hand corner. It was so delicious and bursting with the best cheesecake cake filling Ive ever tasted. Highly recommend them if you are in the area. Right next to Toads place great spot for this place for sure.
Decent coffeeAmazing donuts! All yeast basedNutella is ok, nothing great really. Its regular donut with tablespoon full of Nutella in the center.French toast is the best flavor of french toast donut youll have.Smores is the best I have ever had. Its got graham crackers, Marshmallows and a piece of Hersheys on the top. Must try.
10/10! The service was exceptional from the second we walked in. The staff was so friendly and eager to help with suggestions. The donuts are fantastic! Loved all the flavor options and all that we tried were delightful. The breakfast burrito was amazing. Freshly made eggs and great fillings.I wish we lived here so we could come back!Special shout-out to Richard for being so happy and enjoyable!
Amazing place!! I got a coffee, but when I was sitting in the restaurant, one of the workers let us try a new dounghnut they might add: the French toast donut!! Really hoping they add this to the menu!!
Love the French toast! Would love to see it show up on the menu
Nice place my daughter recommended. Good food and donuts! I suggest you order online for hot foods because those tend to take some time to prepare.
Oh my gosh these are the best tasting donuts that I have ever had till date!! Loved their signature collection!! We tried a bunch of donuts out of which black hawk, Nutella and cookies and cream were my favs!! I would definitely recommend this place, would love to go back and try something new next time!
In the past I would have given them 4 stars for their over the top donuts that actually tasted really good, but when we walked up to the counter to choose and there was a family of flies cruising around landing on all the donuts in the cases. NOT just 1 or 2, a family. Staff not even concerned about it at all. Im thinking...Soooo if this is the way we treat the product in public view what in the world is going on behind the doors to the kitchen and prep areas.Need I say more....
There is a long wait for sandwiches- 45 minutes or more we were told. The coffee is good. If you go, go for the donuts. Id have given it 5 stars if my sister had been with me.
Donut Crazy, from my prior understanding, should be a nice place to grab a quick bite albeit at a relatively high price. However, after recently visiting to get a taste of their named-claim-go-fame, I was quite confused. No donuts on Mondays??? That doesnt make sense. Fazed, I went and asked for the arugula avocado toast - no arugula either. It seems in the time of decreased customers, they have cut on both the ingredients and how much the employees care about their job. I hope they can do better the next time I come!
Great donuts. The maple bacon one was very good. The maple was smooth consistency and the smokey bacon added a great flavor. We also tried the monster donut which was a red velvet cake donut with cookie dough, chocolate ganache, a cookie and marshmallow on top. The doughnut was a little to dense and I thought it had to many toppings. The vibe and decor of the shop was very chill. It was a place you wanted to hangout at.
Simply delicious and amazing! So hard to find quality donuts like these in New England! Will be back for more!
Such a wide variety of flavor combinations to choose from. You can also get breakfast sandwiches between two glazed donuts. Very unique concept! Highly recommend a stop to this place. Such fun decor too.
Great food, fun atmosphere, go ahead and try it if you’re thinking about it!
Refresher tea was awesome, coffee was great, donut was not as great as expected though. But it was still good overall.
Wow! Everything at this place is great. Amazing bagels that make for a great breakfast sandwich, with real eggs! Not those microwave patty things. Their donut selection literally is crazy. All types of fun flavors. I got a cannoli one, it was amazing. Im from out of town, from Atlanta, and i would compare these donuts to places like Sublime and Revolution, if youre familiar then you understand how good they are. The style and decor of the place was fantastic as well. Perfect balance of cozy and cool. I will make it a point to stop by here everytime im visiting the area.
The donuts here taste like home made.Try the blueberry lemon one.really good
Stopped in to grab a quick breakfast sandwich. Staff greeted us when we walked in and the food was made speedily and with care. We will need to comeback for a donut.
Whenever i come here personally the line is insanely long and it’s a bit of a turn off to me, but good for them because they def deserve the business. i resort to ordering on uber eats for late night dinner. love the arugula tomato avocado toast and the maple bacon donut. cant wait to eat from here again :)
They have the best donuts! And one cook who always get my order right! She rocks🥰
My wife had the cannoli donut, and I had a cinnamon bun; both were amazing! My wife—a pastry aficionado—says it’s one of the best donuts she’s even eaten. The staff was friendly, too.
Ordered food for delivery thru an app, they made the order incorrectly and could not even fathom how to make the order correct, or offer a solution to the problem. On top of being useless as problemSolving is concerned their customer service was dismal.
You want good music? They got it. You want a clean, hip, place? They got it! Friendly staff? They got it! Cinnamon rolls the size of your head? They got’em!This is a great place to come eat doughnuts. COME GET YOUR FIX!Really nice place to come by yourself or with friends. Worth a visit if you’re in New Haven!
Super good donuts! Had a wonderful banana donut and a cool cannoli donut! I’m so glad I checked this place out.
Cozy. Inviting. Welcoming. Some of the biggest donuts weve ever had.
That was an experience! Really fun atmosphere and decor, and Id love to try out their coffee options and savory sandwiches. Todays trip was all about the donuts, though! We tried an Easter special (with a lemon cream inside), The Hostess, and a Strawberry Shortcake crazy. I would order The Hostess again, but the others were almost too sweet. There are so many unique flavors here, so well be back to try more.Three stars for the taste of the base donut taste, five stars for originally and having so many unique options to choose from.
Had an amazing time! I love the atmosphere, it makes you feel like youre in an art museum, but with comfortable seating to make you feel right at home. The staff are pleasant and helpful with newcomers. They are truly artists, and take donuts to an elite level. The Bottom Cream donut was absolutely delicious, and big enough for 2 people to share.Even the bathroom was quite an experience as they have an awesome picture of Batman eating a donut, and the decor is unexpected and different.I will definitely keep going back!
Awsome place! Like the interior! Very relaxing and viby🥰
Great donuts, short wait time, and friendly staff.
The donuts are always interesting, however if you order another food item be prepared to wait & be underwhelmed by the food
Donut crazy is just that crazy....Hella expensive and beyond overrated! The donuts can either be a hit or miss.I heard so many good things about this place, that I had to try it for myself and dabble into this donut experience. LOL Little did I know I would be disappointed; I went in and thought I was in a donut, bakery heaven due to the endless choices and didnt know where to start. I read the sign and somehow misread the misleading prices. I didnt really understand that there was a difference in prices depending on the donut you picked; the specialty donuts are way more expensive then the regular, basic ones.Either way I ended up with 10+ specialty donuts and a few regular ones on the 2 occasions I went. It cost me each time close to $40+ just for a dozen donuts 😒👎but, I still paid the hefty price and couldnt wait to bring them home and enjoy with family. - The donuts in-total were not good! Dont get me wrong, the regular donuts were delicious, but nothing more special than any other donut place!! The specialty donuts were topped with stale cereal, stale cookie pieces, stale candy bar pieces and gross fillings....Nothing on/in the 🍩 was fresh. I would have been better off buying a frosted donut from Dunkin and putting toppings on myself and save a sh*t load of money. Dont waste your hard earned money...Youll be very disappointed! The owner is rude as well!! SMH
Ive never actually set foot in Donut Crazy, but have had two of their donuts that were purchased for me, so my review is based purely on the donuts themselves and not on the store or the customer service. The first one I had was a maple bacon donut. I am a fan of anything maple flavored and am disappointed that Dunkin donuts no longer serves their maple frosted donuts. So when we talked about this place and someone mentioned maple donuts, I was completely on board! My favorite thing about this donut is the toppings. My least favorite thing about this donut is the actual donut, which puts me in a tough situation. The donut itself was dry and tasted more like simple plain dough than a donut. There was no taste to the donut, and it made my mouth feel very dry.I happened to get a second donut on accident. The donut was purchased for someone who was not in school that day, so it was gifted to me instead. Absolute same as before, way too dry! This one was a cannoli donut, and I actually had to eat it in several sittings because the toppings were absolutely way too sweet for me!At a price of almost $4 a donut, Ill wait for someone to gift me another before I try another.
Awesome place. Very friendly
Pretty good donuts. Nice creative flavors. Arethusa dairy products, including chocolate milk on tap.
Lovely local gourmet donut focused eatery!Pleasing aesthetics, friendly people, wonderful food. Stop by and try them for sure!
A very fun place to visit for a snack. The breakfast sandwiches are very tasty and the variety and quality of the donuts are amazing! Worth stopping in if you’re in New Haven
Lacking vegan options… this is shocking given that even Burger King has a full vegan selection nowadays. 🤔 hoping they can step up to match the competition of other bakeries in the area.
Short summary: be wary of overchargesThe first time I came here I ordered a glazed donut bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and was overcharged a dollar (some sandwiches cost a dollar extra to replace the bread with donuts). I brought up the issue with a manager and got refunded immediately.I returned a week later, ordered the same item, and was overcharged again by a different employee. When I raised the issue this time, though, the employee refused to take the $1 charge off, though the posted menu clearly states the correct price; I was in a rush, didn’t want to escalate over a dollar with people waiting behind me, and ended up just eating the cost. The food is great and I don’t want to raise a fuss over a dollar, but was frustrated by inconsistency / inflexibility in policy between employees.
I love yeast donut. I think their donut is probably okay, I just happen to get it around 5pm, they are still well stocked but it tasted like donut that has been on the shelf since morning. Probably would need to get it early during the day
Fine service, the food is under rated.
Donuts are just okay. They look a lot better than they actually taste. Staff is condescending and rude, especially to long-time customers who they take for granted.
Tasty and crazy donuts
Amazing donuts and customer service!
Wacky doughnuts that range in complexity. Locations are very clean and modern. I enjoy just looking at the shelves and seeing what kind of options they have. This was for a coworkers last day. I dont get too crazy with my sweets but i had to indulge. I had the Black & White (top right). It was absolutely perfect in every way. Its covered in chocolate and was rolled in some kinda crushed cookie bits. Went great with my coffee. Overall everyone was beyond satisfied with their doughnut. Ive been to multiple doughnut crazys and theyre all great! Coming soon the WEHA!
An amazing experience, a donut-lover’s paradise
The donut tasted fine.
Awesome assortment and very cool store.Did curbside pick, in and out
I pick up from Donut Crazy for DoorDash! Been craving a taste. Today I grabbed over Dozen donuts for my kids and class party @NETTTS needless to say everyone enjoyed the giant donuts. The variety of flavors. And the smile it brought on! Literally everyone looks so good you have to really think about which donut to grab! The office at my school and instructors loved the holiday spirit that some of the donuts brought on as well! Lovely employees at the york street and Branford locations! I catch yall on my next Dash! Happy Holidays!! 🌹🌹
I was early for a meeting and decided to try this place for a breakfast sandwich and a donut during the wait. The donut was good, but despite only 1 other customer, my sandwich wasn’t ready by the time I had to leave for my meeting. I don’t understand how it takes over half an hour to cook 2 eggs but they’ve figured it out.
Great tasty food
Donuts are good, but it gets pricey really fast. Be careful when ordering, if you do order half a dozen of the special donuts and half of the regular the total can come out to be $35 plus if you drink coffee or tea.Crazy Donuts: $3.25 eachDaily Simple Donuts: $1.95I thought the french toast and the Boston cream one were soooo good. I would definitely want them again, but not for those prices. The staff also wasnt very friendly. They just wanted you to order your donuts and get out. Just like in a previous post, I was charged an extra donut. I didnt realize until we were already on the road driving. So BEWARE. Before you pay or give them money, review your order/receipt for accuracy
Call before you waste your time going here. They like to advertise that they have donuts but when you get there the shelves are bare. Pre covid this place was great. Now they are a useless donut shop without donuts.
