Horrible customer service and rude staff. Went in and asked about a couple of items and they got mad and didn’t even say bye after I said bye. They have good stuff for sale but horrible service.

I had an exceptionally positive experience here selling some of my Grandmothers heirloom gold jewelry and gemstones. Phil J.R. is 100% professional, and precise with his assessment of individual pieces. I felt comfortable and assured that my valuables were being treated with respect. I will recommend anyone seeking this type of service make the trip to this establishment first.

I cant say anything bad about this place. My whole experience was great start to finish. JR was very knowledgeable and talked me through the experience. Top dollar was paid for the gold I brought in.

I was here a few weeks ago and brought a trunk full of items.. I opened my trunk and before I couldn’t even open it all the way the man told me they didn’t take anything that I had.. so I tried to show him what I had one by one and he started to walk away as I was showing him.. decided to give it another try and the second time I went the second gentleman that works there started yelling at my friend and I for being next to each other (yes I understand the social distancing rule but there isn’t much space in there to begin with so if there’s enough people inside it’s kind of impossible to stay away from each other) after I sold one of my items and got COMPLETELY LOW BALLED for it I took the rest of my “unsellable” items to Communications Express in west haven and they gave me money for everything I had and they were very nice and helpful definitely recommend that place instead of here you’ll 100% get your moneys worth!

The owner there was extremely rude. He kept walking away from me while I was trying to ask questions about my son for Christmas, because his Xbox broke..He kept telling me everything was $300. Just being a sarcastic, arrogant jerk.I will never set foot back into that place ever again. And I will tell everybody I know about this..

I went to sell a a few pieces of jewelry .(14k bracelet, 14k gold hoop earrings and a 14 k old boyfriends garnet ring) I had done some price shopping previous to going to superior Exchange . I first went to good ole toms, the woman who helped me was personable and professional and she answered all of my questions but told me she was only able to give me $100 for all 3 pieces .I decided to shop around some more and then went to Superior Exchange I met the owner Junior. He was also professional, personable and answered all of my questions . He evaluated my items And quoted me a price based on weight and calculated the items using today’s gold stock exchange price . His quote was over double what my previous offer was andAnd I decided to sell all 3 items for $ 239 .He also has many items In his store Power tools, jewelry, antiques, TVs and even musical instruments etc. Go shop around for your self and then go see Junior you will not be dis appointed !!!

This week I sold a small amount of gold and silver bullion to Superior Exchange. I drove fifty miles because they were the closest dealer with an A+ Better Business Bureau rating. When I walked in the store I was a bit surprised because they also are pawn brokers. I didnt expect to find top professional expertise in that setting. I was dead wrong. They were superb. Phil Jr. handled my transaction with great expertise and professionalism. His knowledge of precious metals and their markets is extremely impressive. He had the spot gold and silver prices on a live screen while he calculated his offer. I was amazed that he gave me so close to spot on my gold. His honesty was impeccable, and I jumped at his offer. He cut me a check immediately. Two hours later it was in the bank. Id deal with him again in a heartbeat, and I strongly recommend Superior Exchange for anyone interested in buying or selling precious metal. A thoroughly enjoyable and profitable transaction.

Went here to sell a camera. When I walked in i was treated like an object and not a person. What do you got? Was how I was greeted. When I told him what it was I was told they dont take what I have, and then confirmed it with the young man behind the counter. His response was no, we dont take those. That was the extent of my human interaction here.Now, here is my issue. The fact that I was treated as if I was the (worthless, lol) camera was what was humiliating and upsetting. Not like a person. Not like a potential customer who could bring in business or spread the word about this place...in a positive way. Maybe I was expecting more in the realm of customer service? My bf wanted to look around, but I just wanted to leave. I did not want to give this place any money as they made it clear they dont not care to have me as a potential customer. Should I ever have something else to pawn/sell, Id never take it here. The first impression was terrible.

I love this pawn shop and the employees are nice and very helpful. The good thing about this place is that theyll work with you.

All I can say is customer service sucks. I have never in my life been talked to so bad as a customer just for asking a simple question. How long will it take for a repair so I can know whether to leave it or come back? Every person behind the counter lacked customer service terribly. I felt embarrassed that I brought some one there, in the past they werent that bad a little rude but today, was over the top.Then while, leaving a customer stated how they felt in regards to how he was being treated and they (and yes the customer had a foul mouth) but they followed the customer to the parking lot to talk keep the conflict going that was the most unprofessional thing I ever saw from a business.

No point in doing business here they don’t know how to talk to customers with respect. Then give you an attitude when you check them. And I had to drive back because they left someone else’s game in my console and was missing 2 separate pieces of equipment.

Ive always been treated fair at Superior Im usually on the pawning end of my transactions there. I feel very secure on the fact theyre giving me their top dollar on pawns. If Im in need of money, I dont bother shopping things around -the various pawn shops-I just go straight there (to superior) because Im THAT sure these guys are above board. Also theyve been pretty forgiving when it comes toBeing late on a payment now and again, which is rare these days (for any pawnshop to show compassion)This probably seems like it was planted by the owners, but I can assure you it was not. Im a regular customer.Oh and btw, they have a ridiculous amount of musical and pro-audio gear for sale. Enough to make your very day musician salivate. 😛

Went down there so get a price on a piece of jewelry... Was told that they offer the highest amount on gold etc..... The guy offered me $500 for a sell ...Wasnt to happy with the price so brought the piece to Goldstein a in West haven...They gave me $600 and that was just on a pawn!!!! Not going back there again to try n sell jewelry

I went into the shop to buy an XBOX360 and was pleased to see that had a good selection of them. i had my pick and they clerk brought the xbox to the counter to do a test of the system. he even let me play a game to make sure all the buttons worked corectly. i will be returning soon to buy a Playstation 3 soon. i feel i paid a very fair price for a used 120 gb XBOX360.

Gone in three times, all three times i wanted to buy something. the owner/workers are INCREDIBLY rude. i asked to look at something, and he said wow, seriously? and then sighed really loudly, rolled his eyes. i wanted to see something that was behind something, god forbid i buy something.
