I had a very positive experience. They did a 100K VW Passat service, which included transmission service, radiator flush, all the filters and fluids. It was a lot of work for a very reasonable price. They were thorough and diligent, and very pleasant. I would use again them again.
Kelvin was fast and professional. Had my car fixed and back to me as promised. They were also nice enough to drop me off at my house while my car was being repaired. Most shops will apply the Engine code scan fee to your bill if you get the work done with them, however they wouldnt do this for me. I wasnt happy about that. Overall a good experience though.
I recently moved from the midwest to New Haven for a professional opportunity at a local university hospital, so Ive been actively looking for a new shop to take care of my 2013 BMW 335i xDrive. I refuse to pay outrageous dealership prices, so an independent specialist makes sense for me. I always carefully research my options as I believe in spending intelligently. The first impression I got at AMW was one of disorder. The place looks like a junkyard - cars all over the place, with no semblance of order or care. Upon speaking with one of the mechanics, I promptly realized they seem to work on older cars, and dont seem to have the equipment or technology that newer cars demand. Prices are low but - does that really matter if the equipment or mechanics are not ready to deal with your car? Seems like my search will go on.
Super friendly people. I needed the fuel pump replaced in my BMW as soon as possible (had a long drive to make the next day), and AMW was very accommodating and finished much faster than I was expecting (just a few hours later than afternoon!). They even asked if I wanted to keep the old fuel pump or not when I went to pick up the car. Highly recommended!
This place is great! Everyone was friendly, and they were very helpful in replacing a fuel pump quickly so we could get back on the road. All for a fair price too!
UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP - My car broke down on Sunday night, I was able to have it towed to AMW Monday morning, they diagnosed the problem (malfunctioning alternator) - they were able to send it out to be repaired/rebuilt, got it back on Tuesday and my car was fixed by 3pm on Tuesday. They worked on my car through the snow storm and were in contact. I had been taking my car here for at least 4-5 years with the old owner Tony who always did a great job. When I saw there were new owners, I admit at first I was a bit nervous, but they did a great job, and have also done wonders to make the shop look a lot more clean, tidy, and professional. Great job, and thanks again. I will keep coming back like I did with Tony, very nice honest and professional garage.
A friendly, capable, and honest shop. I called in with a squealing alternator belt, and Tony told me to come down that day. He tightened it, added a bolt, and I was on my way 20 minutes later. AMW has been in business for close to 40 years, and for good reason! Many thanks.
I always came to this place to service my BMW. Tony, the previous owner, was honest and communicative. One morning I came to take my car in for repair and found a new sign and new ownership. I left the car and they said they would work on it and call me to tell me the status. They never called me about it. I called them to see what the diagnosis was and when it would be ready. They told me that they were still working on the car. However, when I got to the shop at 530pm they told me that the mechanic was unable to make it that day and they didnt do anything to the car. In fact, they couldnt even tell me what was wrong with the car because they didnt bother to read the error code from the check engine light. I did that myself with my own scanner and will be taking to a different European auto shop in the future. What a waste of time!
Kind staff, knowledgeable and friendly. Will go out of my way to do business with them again.
Not professional at all I drop my car off 3 months ago and still haven’t got a definite price for it and now their telling me to pick it up nothing has been done to my car other than the owner trying to buy it from me. When I dropped it off I just put a brand new battery and now picking up the car with a completely dead battery. When I stopped by the shop they didn’t even know what key belonged to my car they had someone else key in my car ignition then when I told them that it didn’t belong to my car they had to search for my key. I personally will never go to AMW again.
I have been going to AMW for fifteen years. My car is taken care of perfectly, at a modest price, with kindness and extraordinary efficiency. My best car repair experience ever.
Tony is a wonderful mechanic. He has a lot of knowledge about cars and expertise on foreign brands.Great work, great customer service and great price.
What can I say that hasnt already been said about Kris Kringle .. A perfect gentleman that will hear you out then diagnose the problem give you a great price and have the job done at god speed. He fixed a oil leak and replaced my serpintine belt for far less than the competitors..Listen.. He also put two newer rear tires on and fixed my cracked rear rim for nothing because he was concerned for my safty because my tires were bald like my head and one tire was leaking due to a crack.. WHO DOES THAT?! Love the man and strongly recommend it would only be your loss not to. Btw I never leave reviews.
Gd place great mechanics and staff members
They quote 1 price and charge another higher price....new owners are crooks
Good service
