Experience started great ended bad. Bought a 1969 Corvette from them with non operable AC. Paid them 1600 dollars to get it fixed. After 3 attempts and 3 200 plus mile round trips they finally got it fixed. I was told by James that the motor had been gone through and rings and top end was done. After just one month I’m pulling the engine out due to bad valve seals and bad rings. Their mechanic assured me that the fouled wet plugs I found was due to improper plug gap. Now I’m stuck with thousands of dollar repair costs to get it right. James stated he would discuss with the owner about helping me out and he would get back with me. It’s been over a week and I have heard nothing. I would not buy from this dealer. Better options in Texas if your looking for a classic.
James was very thorough and patient. He knows the cars and the details. Will be going there again.
This was a spur of the moment stop. What a great place. If youre into old cars, you need to visit here. Really enjoyed our walk around.
Really nice cars! Wish i could afford to buy all of them!
Very nice people. And cars
These guys are the best. Friendly, knowledgeable, easy to deal with and great inventory. Still love the split bumper Camaro I got from them a year and a half ago. Plum Crazy Cuda next if they ever get one!!
Nice cars, seemed a little high on prices. No heavy push from sales person. Answered any questions we had.
I got a really bad deal from this dealership! You should be very careful when dealing with this store. I bought a 1968 Camaro several months ago, and I regret having done this. I thought this was a reputable place to buy a classic car from having read the mostly favorable reviews that were posted. So I decided to take a chance and made a deal for this car. It looked very clean and straight according to the photos that they provided and after speaking to the salesman, I was convinced that this was the car for me. My mistake was I did not travel to New Braunfels, TXto take a more detailed look of the car and most importantly, test drive the car. I live in California. My other mistake was I trusted this dealership to be upfront with me. They should have taken care of the defects, especially the major ones, before putting it on the market. I took delivery of the car and when the driver of the transport started the car, I noticed blue smoke from the exhaust, but thought nothing of it at the time. The following weekend, I took it to a local car show and my friend who was following me mentioned that there was a combination of blue and grey smoke coming out of the exhaust. The car also had a bad hesitation when taking off from a stop. I tried to isolate the problem by doing the basic things so that I could be sure of the exact problem. I had a feeling that the things that I was going to do wouldnt fix the problem but it was just a process of elimination. So I checked/readjusted the engine timing, adjusted the air/fuel mixture, changed to oil, replaced the spark plugs, readjusted the valves, but this didnt improve the problem. My only conclusion was that the piston rings were bad. I left the car sitting for a long while because I dont know how to do work on the bottom end of the engine and I dont trust machine shops around here to do a good job at a reasonable price. I got in touch with the salesman by phone and sent them several emails describing the problem, but they denied there was ever a problem. I asked for a little help with the engine and thats when all communications ended. No word from them at all. I understood that there was no warranty on the car, but how can someone sell a car with known defects and have a clear conscience? So, I guess I gotta eat it. I paid good money for this thing, by the way. I removed the engine and Im thinking of replacing it with a crate motor. Itll be awhile before this car is up and running again, but at least something is being done. If you are planning on buying a classic long distance, spend a little more and go and touch and drive the car first before handing over your money. Be especially wary of this dealership, because they will take advantage of you if youre easy like I was.
Purchased a 57 Chevy site unseen. Asked for additional photos and video of vehicle and the employees were quick to respond with my request. Very happy with with purchase after receiving vehicle recently and out cruising now. Hope to purchase another vehicle in the near future once I save enough $$$. Pleasure doing business, highly recommend.
Truthfully I am not in the market for a classic car. I have a project at home. However I had guests from out of town and curiosity finally got the best of me. After years of seeing this place on as I drove to Austin I finally went in. No pushy sales staff. actually I didnt see any employees until I had been there about 30 minutes. But it might be because the cars were mesmerizingly beautiful. And the prices I thought were reasonable. I put it this way: I could take 30 grand to the ford dealer and get a brand new mustang with some sexy options just like half my neighbors and coworkers drive or I could drop 26k on a classic 66 mustang that is going to run and be beautiful and be easy to maintain. Do the math. Like I said Im not in the market but someday my everyday driver is going to need replacing and Im going to keep a and e in mind. Until then Ill just continue to find joy in busting my knuckles on my project 70 mustang.
Been coming to this place for years, even before it was A&E Classic Cars. The owner has really turned the place around in making it an enjoyable showroom. Unfortunately I dont have the funds to be buying a play toy, but always enjoy going in monthly to check out and see what they have new. They are always welcoming with a quick chat and let me roam freely to look at cars and enjoy the classic culture without the constant over the shoulder typical sales guy tactics.
Great
Very cool place to visit and fun was there for like 45 minutes but i could be there all day i didnt want to leave hopefully Ill be able to buy a car from here one day. I give this place a 100 STARS
Love to go the classic cars if you have a dream with go there and be fulfilled you might not walk out with it or drive off with it but you are loved just said all the different cars.
Huge fans of their inventory as well as their patience with individuals who come through with little to none automobile knowledge. Ive heard several say they overpriced their cars but just let me know when you find another of what youre looking for in near pristine condition.
I purchased a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro from A&E Classics about a month ago. The staff there are friendly and dont make it a high pressure sales transaction as do new car dealers. They gave me the ability to look over the car and test drive without the constant over the shoulder burden. Paperwork went smoothly and still driving my car now. Hoping to bring the car back to them soon to add A/C with their shop. Thanks for getting me into my old high school car.
I have been living in San Antonio for the last ten years, I am from Mexico and every year I receive visitors from my country, in addition to the Riverwalk, Sea World, and Fiesta Texas, I always include in my tours A&E, great place to visit, friendly staff, amazing cars!
I bought a 1967 Camaro from James and Larry at A&E Classic Cars. Great customer service. Before I picked up the car, they noticed that the power steering was making some noise, and they replaced the power steering pump at no cost... without my asking! Awesome service during and AFTER the sale. Highly recommended.
Vehicles overpriced, staff is unfriendly and distant. If you do make and offer, staff will tell you how they have another customer (outside the area) who would pay 2x the price. Or that the car is best price on internet. The will not haggle. Nice to look, but there are better sales elsewhere.
I purchased my 1968 Corvette from Larry and James. They had no issues with my brother inspecting and test driving the car. They are upfront honest and are not in anyway hiding any mechanical issues. They have an outstanding maintenance shop. My Vette had a few minor issues and they resolved them 100% with no questions asked. I am in Loveland, CO so James has been keeping me informed on the remaining minor maintenance and the shipping process. I am VERY impressed with A & E and will purchase another classic from them in the future. Quality automobiles, quality work force and quality true Texans to work with in Larry and James. Highly Recommend! Rich Thomas March 2018
My wife and I Visited A&E cars on 3 separate occasions and not once did someone greeted us or ask if we needed any assistance or cars were interested in buying. Considering there in the business of selling cars you would think theyll make an effort to say hello. Lucky theres Facebook market place and Craigslist. We since bought a 67 Gto and 70 Cutlass 442.
I do not make enough money to walk in here. The vehicles are pricey but really nice to look at and dream. So nice. I reccomend this be a first stop after winning the lottery.
Like the way show room set up great classic cars just left
Very nice cars. Employees let you look around without hassling you or trying to get you to buy. Enjoyed stopping here very much.
It is a great classic car place. They really make an effort to make the cars look at there best. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Great place all together.
Cool selection of cars. Attendant was friendly and knowledgeable
If you looking for a classic car, this is the place to go. Staff was awesome from the test drive to close of the deal. James was very helpful and still is on any questions I may have with my new Chevelle SS
Class act. No nonsense dealing and hassle-free delivery. Go see James, April and the rest of the team at A&E. I love my truck!!!
Quite a few cars, but over priced for the condition they’re in IMHO. I think you could do a lot better at auction. I was particularly disappointed with the condition and attention to detail I saw. If you’re close it’s worth a look see, but I wouldn’t go out of my way too much.
Nice Collection of vintage and restomods. A bit warm, no a/c.
It’s a great dealership they were nice enough to start one of the cars for us and some of the cars that are in there are very hard to find and all the cars are nicely restored
Great place. Owner was a nice guy and very helpful.
Cool classic cars!!! Pretty small and almost all Chevys, but very nice cars!
Nice cars, nice building, but no air conditioning. No sales person to ask questions and nobody to keep folks from leaning on the cars. Maybe he was a salesman, im not sure, I never got to speak with anyone. Maybe next time
Museum quality cars for sale. We enjoy window shopping anytime we pass by.
Awesome really nice vehicles a must see great place to go dream at
Great selection of cars, but just a bit high in pricing..
We waited forever for service as the staff sat around talking with each other. When we finally got the service the staff was rude and the vehicles overpriced. We drove over 2 hours just to get in the car and leave.
Walked in, 3 salespeople sitting down. Walked past they all looked at me, no acknowledgement, spent 20 minutes in there, walked right back by salespeople on the way out and they never said anything. Never pre-qualify, you never know who has the money to buy something.
Awesome collection of hot rods and classics.
Horrible. Was strung along never got back to me about offers. Their eBay listings were run up by employees always had excuses and dont think they own any vehicles and just do consignments. Started out by saying how original car was by the end had different motor, transmission, seats from a top line model didnt even know what was in their listings. Always blaming stuff on owner of the cars. Stay as far away as possible...Unless you want a major headache and have plenty of time to waste!!!
Always love browsing through these beautiful cars!
Awesome place to visit if you love classic cars!
Beautiful place with an awesome selection of beautiful cars and trucks. Clearly priced for profit.
Beautiful cars, love this place! Friendly staff!
Nice cars. Not the best service.
Fun to take my sons to look at the great Classic cars.
Always like to go see the new old cars an trucks
Great collection of cars and trks!
Enjoyed looking will be back soon.
Cars are over priced and they really low ball on trades. Sales staff dont know much about classic cars or the condition that their cars are in. This comes from experience in driving cars and being an enthusiast, not a sales person.
AMAZING CARS WHERE ITS CHRISTMAS ALL YEAR LONG! !!!!
I would love to see your car lower to pricey
GreAt selection and folks
Great place really nice cars!
Love the cars they have.
Its like a candy store for adults. They dont always have a sales person on the floor so there are times when you will have to go and find someone if you have any questions.
Great cars and James was great.
Amazing cars & a friendly staff!
