I came in with a flat tire due to a nail/slash in the tire. The staff was very welcoming and professional and helped me get on my way. My overall experience was great and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

This was a first time visit. I like their courteousness and prompt service. I had an alternator replaced, price $504.33; seems like a lot but I have never had an alternator replaced in any cars I have owned so maybe the price is right.

If you want a place that will be dishonest and take you for every penny that you have, this is the place for you. I brought my car in for an issue with the car whining when it turns. I assumed it was most likely a power steering pump. I asked them to check out the car to see what was wrong and told them what I thought it MIGHT be. When I came to pick up my car, my rear view mirror was hanging off of the window. Strange that I wasnt made aware of this before I stepped in my car.. When I asked the guy what happened, he said the sun made it fall off! Ha! I asked him if they looked at my car and found any other issues with it, he said I dont know, we didnt really look at the car. When I explained I came in not even knowing for sure what was wrong with the car and I expected them to look at the car first, he said he would have charged me an extra $54 on top of the $300 I just spent. What makes this even more messed up is when I left, my car is still whining. So whatever the problem is, they didnt fix it. There are a thousand mechanics out there... save your money for an honest company that wont take you for granted.

Brought my car in and told them my 3rd cylinder was misfiring randomly. They kept test driving it and almost told me there was nothing wrong with it because it didnt misfire when they stole my car for a joyride. (I never gave permission for them to drive it.) They ended up replacing a coil, which did not fix it, and charged me $400. I am never going back. The employees here are brain dead. You can literally telp them whats wrong and theyll take 3 hours just to realize you were right the whole time.

Took my daughters vehicle to them for the battery light being on and paid $53 to have them diagnose it. They stated it needed a new alternator, pulley and belt - repairs totaling over $875. I called around and found two other places who quoted the exact same work for under $600. Needless to say I won’t be back. I can’t believe they actually get business overcharging people. I was out the $53, but still saved a lot of money getting the car out of there and into a more honest shop. Never again.

I went there with a 2012 Ford Escape to have all oil gaskets replaced because of several leaking. The car has not stopped leaking since initial repair a year ago with them. After multiple times of having things re-replaced. I give up. They can not do the job. I gave up on my warranty today and Im having a company that can successfully repair cars do the job. The manager had a poor attitude. If you value your vehicle think again about bringing it to this place. If zero stars were a choice I would pick it.

Work was done well. Timely repairs. Quoted price and final price were confusing. Amount given to me over phone wasn’t clear on totals. Can’t blame them for that, as once they explained it added up.

Sterling responded quickly and effectively to a car breakdown that left me stranded in the Detroit area. I was glad to get back on the road earlier than I expected.

It doesnt seem to matter to these guys if I dont know what the accurate description is. All I do is come in and tell them what I think is going on and they are courteous and respectful as they figure it out. This last time I didnt have a ride home and the offer was made to take me home if I wanted. I had brought things to do, and yes it was a long day, but I met interesting people and Joe, the front area fellow, actually chatted with me. Nothing is ever inexpensive about car repair, but they do their best to keep the cost fair. I highly recommend them.

So I have a normal mechanic, Preston Automotive, at 23 Mile and Donner. They do solid work, they just dont do alignments. Got my brakes done and then was on the hunt for someone to do the alignment. Talked to a friend who said Sterling does good work however they try to talk you into tons of things that you dont need. Well, strike 1. But I know my car is in good shape. Armed with a coupon for an alignment for 70$ I call up. Im told no appointment necessary, they dont even do appountments for an alignment. Awesome! Up bright and early today to take it the guy at the front desk tells me I need an appointment and asking to see my phone to verify my call log. If you guys cant figure out how to schedule appointments I have zero faith in your car repair techniques. There was an issue with the scheduling when arriving for my appointment I was turned away after waiting over a week to be seen, only to be told to come back next week! I reccomend the Sterling Heights location they were very kind and helpful getting me in the same day.

My experience was exceptional! I am not a person who has any knowledge about a car. Glen and his staff walked me through everything that was going on with my car and made it all make sense. I want to like Sterling Car Care because it is close, looks clean and Joe seems nice. They are just too expensive and add way more to the list of things that need to be done. I thought that 10 years ago and now again today. I stopped going to Sterling Car Care. Today, I thought Id give them another chance. I brought in a 2005 Ford Escape that was running fine. No service lights were on. It has 100,000 miles so I thought Id get a tune-up, tire rotation, oil change and brake pads, and transmission flush.They said I needed all extra this stuff done and it cost $1800. I didnt even get the $458 tune-up or $169. transmission flush.The car drove the exact same as when I brought it in. No improvement. I just have a bad feeling that I have been ripped off again. I wont be going back.

Took my vehicle in for a simple wheel alignment and oil change because my regular mechanic doesnt do alignments. Got a call from Sterlings that my vehicle needed nearly $1,000 worth of front end work and oh, yeah, you could use tires, too before you go on that trip. Nope, just do the oil change and nothing else. We immediately took the car to our usual mechanic who verified that there was normal wear on the parts but plenty of life in them, and nothing needed doing. The car then left the next day on a 2,000 mile road trip and returned with zero problems. Later heard from a friend of a similar story where he took in shocks, gifted to him, to have them installed on his vehicle that was working perfectly. He got the same kind of call with your vehicle needs this and this and this, itll cost about $1,000. Ill never go back.

I had my vehicle towed in because it wouldnt stay running. I informed them the SES light was on beforehand and that it was idling rough The battery died in the process of trying to restart it. I had a brand new battery in the back seat but needed help installing it due to corrosion. I was charged $64.20 to install my new battery and replace the cables...plus a $10 charge for having my own battery! Then to find out why the vehicle wouldnt stay running I was told there was a $107 diagnostic fee....ok. I received a call a short time later to inform me that I had a burned out fuel pump costing $877 to replace including a new fuel filter. I wasnt entirely pleased that for the cost of the job that the fuel tank wasnt washed, but they assured me that they didnt see any dirt in in. The good part is that I had my vehicle back the very next morning. Total bill: $1090. This is only shop Ive ever encountered that does not waive the diagnostic fee if the work is performed, but ok at least the charge wasnt hidden in the labor somewhere else. I only drove it home that day. The following day I was out driving and the SES light came back on with the EVAP codes P0455, P0171/0174, P2195/2197 that it had coming in originally. I made arrangements to bring the vehicle back in to have the work rechecked to make sure there werent any problems with the seals or connections. I was told there are not but that the codes were pointing to other EVAP issues and that there was a damaged vent valve. It would cost me ANOTHER $107 to diagnosis these codes that the vehicle came in with! Why? Why wouldnt I have been told of the possible corrections that needed to be made associated with those EVAP codes? Why at least wasnt I informed of the damaged valve at the time of the service? Absolutely ridiculous to pay another diagnostic fee within a week of the vehicle going in with the same codes.

Sold me 2 trailer tires. Ordered them on a Monday and they had them available on Tuesday as promised. Glen and Joe are the best in the biz!

Truck wouldnt start, had it towed in. It was fixed the same day. They were very honest and explained everything to where I could understand it. Will definitely bring my truck back here again for regular service.

I took both of my cars here to have an oil change and for one of the cars to be gone over in detail before we take it on a road trip. When i picked up the car i needed gone over i was informed that the kid i spoke to did not inform anyone of that request and that all the mechanics had left so no one looked at my car period. When i started the car my coolant light was on so I had to go back in and ask them to make sure it was filled the kid who did my oil change clearly forgot because he had to go get some to fill the empty coolant and i now have to take it somewhere else to get it looked at before the trip since they will charge me an additional 50-100 dollars. I could of had my oil changed for 30 bucks cheaper but i took it there to have it checked what a waste. The people are nice enough and i have gone here a few times over the years but i will not be back after this experience.

Second time with way high quotes.....sometimes set prices need be reconsidered. Simple belt replacement....some employees dont even know how drive manual transmission. Car shop......way high pricing.
