I arrived 20 minutes before closing and they still bent over backwards to help me find a cabling solution to hook together two mismatched audio mixers to a mobile phone (!) for a high-pressure company event the next morning. They were very knowledgeable, and since their was no single cable that could work (apparently it does not exist), they suggested a combination of cables, and since their cables are so much less expensive than other stores, I was able to purchase two different combinations of cables in order to have a backup solution in case the first solution did not work as expected. They even suggested a nearby music store that might have a different set of cables, if needed. You-do-it is well-stocked with electronic parts, and surprisingly inexpensive!

Great trip back in time to the kind of DIY electronics store that I new of as a kid. lots of parts and kits. Sort of a supper Radio Shack. Good prices also and the staff are super friendly and helpful. A must see if you are ever in the Boston area. Set the geek in you free!

Its a great place for hard to find electronic items. They have a good selection of all sorts of cables and connectors. Also, its nice to be able to find portable radios for all different uses.

What an amazing experience. I was directed by another store earlier in the day and this place is stunning. Staff is overly experienced and helpful. Honestly, I never knew it existed. Im glad I went. If you are in to electronics, you must visit.

Its sort of hard to believe this store still exists. Its great. If youre trying to make some electronic Gizmo - robot - project this is your place. Well organized and stocked. For example most 1960s cars use A small buzz box to regulate power to the gauges : bringing them from 12 volts to 5 volts. They are terrible little things and fail. There are a few simple designs on the Internet that use resistors. I was able to find everything at You-do It and solder the regulator up in about 10 minutes and now my old car has much better voltage. Thats what its for.

I bought an NVR for my security cameras in 2015 from You-do-it and it recently stopped working after an electrical storm. I spoke with the manufacturer (Speco) on the phone and they told me it was out of production and they no longer supported that model. I tried everything to get it back on-line, but eventually gave up.I dropped into the store to buy a new one. Tony, one of the employees, asked me what the problem was and suggested I bring the old one in to see if he could trouble shoot it. It was pretty busy for the July 4th holiday, but he took the time and got the NVR back up and running.I just wanted to thank Tony for taking the time, even on a busy Saturday, for going out of his way to provide excellent customer service.

Good advice, quality parts and reasonable prices. I went in for a raspberry pi and they had several models, kits and parts. Last time I went in for screwdrivers and I almost left half a paycheck on wiha gear. Anyways, good stuff.

Thank you You-do-it Electronics. I needed two RJ45 to DB-9 adapters. I needed them right away. Drove from Worcester and walked in as soon as they opened. The guy who opened the door, knew exactly what I needed, showed me the section to look in and pointed out exactly what I needed. Couldnt have been more happy. They knew what I needed, they had it, and it was a bright and clean store stocked with everything.

I recently visited this store for the first time and was impressed. The store sells consumer electronics such as televisions, but also has a wide assortment of hobby electronics products (the main reason that I visited). Theres a wide assortment as I said, though it seemed to be a little disorganized. As an example, I saw 3D printer filament in one section of the store, then saw 3D printers later in another area.The staff was mostly friendly and helpful. Prices, at least for items that I shopped for, seemed reasonable.

I was driving back to Vermont from Boston and visited You-Do-It for the first time. I absolutely love being able to browse a real store instead of shopping for components online. It was a welcoming, friendly environment with a huge selection and very nice staff. I was able to buy several aluminum project cases, op amp chips, potentiometers, a variety of switches, prototype boards and a lot more. If you are into building or fixing, this is the place to go.

YouDoItElectronics is truly unlike any other store around for the engineer, handy, creative, inventor... And they also carry some music, and pro audio/video equipment. If you like electronics youll feel like a kid in a candy store.

Much better choice than radio shack for the hobbyist or tinkerer. Have a fairly decent selection, though not everything you might hope to find. Service would have been marked poor, as the first two people I spoke to were completely disinterested in helping me. Fortunately the third sales man was actually helpful and intelligent if not overly knowledgeable.

This place was recommended by the technicians at NESN when we started talking about vintage audio gear and tube amplifiers. I was not disappointed. Not only do they have every kind of component you can think of, (some of which Ive only seen online, never on the rack at a brick-and-mortar,) they have specialty tools & parts for A/V & broadcast techs!

Had my 1979 turntable and amp both Technics and Klipsch speakers in with little knowledge as to hook it all up as the amp needed a converter and I wasnt sure what wiring went where. Well I needn’t worry after being helped by some workers on the floor I took my equipment upstairs on the elevator to Victor the Audio Professional as far as Im concerned, he got all the right parts that I needed in record time and even set it up for me and plugged it in right there in the store we even put a record on. I’m thankful for the help I got in the professionalism and convenience that I don’t think you can get anywhere else in Massachusetts when it comes to electronics. Been happily listening to my new set up for the last week.

I cannot say enough positive things about this place. I rarely will write reviews but this place blew me away. Not only did they have an excellent selection of electric components but the customer service was top-notch. I walked in there and and an associate asked if I needed any help on anything which I did since their selection is so large. He stayed with me the entire time helping me find each and every component and even doing cross-references to see if there were any substitute components for the few they didnt have. It made the experience that much better and quicker, since I was on break and needed to get in and out of there quickly while collecting over 25 different components.This place is a hobbyist dream and Im so glad that there is something like it near me. Keep up the great work and I will be a loyal customer for years to come.

This is the greatest place on earth, they have most everything for electronics and service is certainly better than three hours of research in forums filled with people that tell you to Google your questions.Honestly, Ive been there a million times by now and I dont even tell my wife because it would look too suspicious to spend so much time in a store. Rude staff with no time to assist customers. I asked for assistance on a very simple question and was told he would be with me in a few minutes. I quote I want to finish this first. I could have lived with that rude behavior. He then said there are other employees I could ask. Well none was on the floor. Should I cast around hoping something shows up? He was checking in inventory. The inventory would still be in that box in 10 minutes. I wouldnt be in the store in 10 min. I review with my money, they get one star and never will they see a penny of my money again. I wasnt the biggest customer but I did spend a lot there every month. This is why brick and mortar is dying.

What can you say about an electronics store that is this awesome?! Its almost impossible to put into words how fantastically wondrous this place is for any gadget lover or electronics guru. Its simply the best and there is nothing like it in the entire state!

This place pretty much has all the parts you need, and if they dont have it, they will order it for you. Everything here is a little pricey but sometimes you can get a deal. They have fun workshops here like the arduino robot workshop and the make your own swiss army knife.

We try would be a good motto for this place. Your going to pay a little more being a retail store vs the internet but some things you need to see in person. Its been 50/50 finding what I need in-store but its worth a visit...

They also have the tools and supplies need to run network connections, along with large selection of Arduino Boards and LED kits.If you need a cable or replacement part (capacitor) they are your best place to find it.The sales staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

You Do It is Radio Shack on steroids. Its no Frys but they do have a good collection of basic electronics parts. In my youth in the 60s and 70s there were lots of retail electronic component stores, You Do It is the last one in New England.

They have all the tech and electronics you will ever need. The store I buy all my audio gear, cables and electrical components at. Sales staff is knowledgeable and nerdy about their products.

This is absolutely Nerd heaven as has been described. I agree they do not have everything, but they have enough. Went there today to pick up a PCB Terminal connector, a part that you absolutely wouldnt normally be able to find locally and sure enough, they had it. This $2 part allowed us to fix our $500,000 printer and get it operational again.

I miss this place. I live in a different state and finding electronics components is a big pain. I have to order from Digikey, Mouser folks and I spend time to get them and cost a lot more. Radio Shack used to be good place for components and now they carry very small inventory and variety. I really miss You-do-it Electronics Center. I used to live few miles from it. If I travel to Newton, I will definitely pay a visit. Cheers!

I really appreciate that several of the staff members have built electronics, have used lots of the components and tools, so can provide advice based on real world experience. I also appreciate them understanding the difference between the needs of a hobbyist for an inexpensive tool to be used a few times, and a professional that needs robust, precision equipment.

I cant say that I have ever walked out of the place disappointed! I am often searching do unique ways to do things, and the supply of items here fits for me. Only problem I have ever had from a staff member was in 1980s! and it wasnt anything that was a big deal! Overall, its a heck of a place, and Ill be a customer for as long as I have breath. Perhaps the best selection and stock in all of Massachusetts. And now that RadioShack is gone, its the one of the only brick and mortar stores for DIY hardware level parts. The prices are good overall, with some bargains and deals present as well. The staff was courteous and helpful. Its sad that RadioShack is gone, but with You-Do-It and online stores, at least you have some security in knowing that you can get what you need when you need it.
