This is such a fun spot! I was on vacation and so was able to go in the afternoon. There werent many people there and it was a fun and relaxing experience. They have a lot of high quality drink and food options. I had hot apple cider and it was great.
Awesome place. Didnt have any food, but the coffee was good and there was a whole library of board games to play for free. Ended up talking to some great people there. Great place to hang out.
Great place when it is fully up and running. Pretty good coffee with games to play and a great outdoor area. Unfortunately it hasnt been the same since the pandemic. Im holding out for it to return to its splendor!
Awesome coffee shop with hundreds of board games to choose from to play while you enjoy your coffee. A very fun place!
This place sucks! Not only does the WIFI not work in the fenced yard meant for Bongo customers only, but the cashier said “ don’t worry, I’ll bring your food out to you!” and I checked back half an hour later to see my food in a To-go bag on the counter :( (I waited to try and get someone’s attention) they had my name and knew I was outside in the fenced area with my dog bc I specifically asked about if it was okay to be out there. I never asked for To-go. There was no line and not a lot of ppl inside. The beer they sell isn’t allowed in the fenced area meant for bongo customers either.Expensive as well. $20 for a bagel and coffee ain’t worth it.
Awesome cafe! Lots of menu items. Has a lot of space so people arent on top of tables when waiting in line. Coffee was really good along with the bagel. Definetily coming back on my next visit.
My favorite local coffee shop love the Autumn Blend
One of my favorite places in Nashville. Its a great place to hang out for a few hours. They have coffee, some simple drinks like beer and wine and a couple of varying cocktails, a small lunch menu, and some snacks. There are two giant walls of games with every type of game genre, and they sell a few of the popular ones too.
Great espresso, quiet (reviewing during COVID), and quick. Surprisingly good lox and salmon. Nom powered doors but otherwise lots of maneuvering space for wheelchair or stroller. Has whole beans for purchase once youve realized how good their espresso is.
Always amazing. The warm and fuzzy drink is to die for and the food is always great. Ive never had something bad from this place. The staff is also always so kind and wonderful. I highly recommend them.
Nice little place in a fun part of town. Just wish they didnt have outdoor seating only.
Coffee was good, burrito ehh and menu was hard to read
Very good. Nice variety of drinks. Staff was very helpful.
Great coffee and coffee drinks. Service is always friendly. Fun games available for purchase along with other merch.
Great seasonal hot chocolate and my sandwich was very good. I also picked up a couple games for gifts at the same time! Very easy to follow covid measures in place.
Enjoyed a Bachelorette sandwich with a brewed coffee. Hit the spot.
The fact that they went through an extra step and added such an important message to their presentation is admirable. I love to support a business that cares for the future of our country!💖 also I had the Apple Butter drink and it was amazing.
Great coffee. The magic of its ambiance is ruined by current pandemic restrictions. However, support local businesses during this time of restrictions.
Nice little coffee place. Last we went it was only to go, no place to sit down to enjoy the coffee.
The bachelorette bagel is amazing! So delish. It was the perfect snack to go with my ice espresso drink.
Not the best coffee ever, not even close. But, the staff is nice and service was pretty fast.
Menu was limited and could use some more comfortable chairs, but a really great game selection! Cool tables with cup holders in the corners. Had a lot of fun. The bathrooms are painted really cool there, too!
This is a very groovy place to have a cup of coffee, a beer or a chai. A few years ago they started having board games and that is a really cool aspect of bongo if you have a couple hours to blow! Line can get long hair, but that would be expected 4 a successful coffee house. We will definitely be visiting again
Bongo East is in my top 5 favorite coffee shops in Nashville. It is unique and always popping with activity. I would not suggest coming here to get work done, unless you can concentrate with lots of people chatting and laughing. Put away your laptop and pick up a card game. The main attraction at this coffee shop is to come and play any board game you would like. Their back wall is filled with them. The staff is friendly and of course the coffee is great.
There are loads of unique and carefully crafted beverages here that are so delicious. They also have tons of board games, so its a great spot for a date night or family fun. Kids can get cider or hot cocoa. Limited parking here. Lots of nearby street parking. Open late!
I love Bongo East! Go to get some good bagels or sandwiches, original lattes, and play a board game while you eat. They have a huge selection of board games and events every week such as “chess night,” “euchre night,” and events for roll playing games.
This is a reliable, great place with a lovely atmosphere. Super chill vibe. Amazing game selection. If there were something to improve, I would love to see a few more beers and foods on rotation, along with a few more things made in house rather than packaged.
Good coffee And sandwiches !
My wife and I visited this coffee shop during a vacation to Nashville. It was without a doubt the best coffee shop Ive ever been to. While many shops will carry a few classic games like scrabble to play with friends while enjoying your coffee, this one had a collection that included the classics, but also over a hundred modern board games that were well organized (by type, complexity, etc.) and included many I had never gotten the chance to try before. It seems like a great place to hang out with friends or bring your family because there are games for people of all ages. This would even be an awesome place just to try out games you were thinking of buying (you can even buy some there if youd like). Being that it is a coffee shop I should mention that not only was the latte we got really delicious, they had a few beer/cider options and food options as well and the prices were very reasonable.
This is our favorite place to hang out with friends and play games! They have everything you would want from coffee to beer! They’re sandwiches are delicious. We always have an amazing time here and everyone is so nice. Definitely come here all the time
We had breakfast and coffee here. The food was fresh and fabulous (I had the breakfast burrito and my friend had the breakfast sandwich). The coffee was tasty and fresh. My friend had a “warm and fuzzy” with honey, vanilla, and cinnamon. I had a mocha. Both were delicious. You won’t go wrong with this choice for breakfast.
Great coffee (also, good selection of beer) and the opportunities to learn new board games was so much fun. I tell my friends about it all the time in hopes to go and relax while playing a new and interesting board game.
Went there to check out their new board game section and we werent disappointed. The selection of foods on the menu could use some improvement, but the board games on tap are excellent. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the service was prompt. We will most definitely be visiting again. As a side note, my wife would like add that the coffee was great.
Busy place! Good coffee with a good food menu. Love all the games they have that you can play. Multiple copies of the best group/family games.
The coffee was perfect, and this place has great atmosphere! There were hundreds of tabletop games free to use and there were about a dozen games going on. It seems they sometimes have euchre tournaments as well so there’s always something going on here.
Bongo east has a great selection of board games to play and a great menu with some fairly heathy choices. I would recommend play pandemic, it is a co op game for up to 4 players but you can probably play with more.
Cool vibe. Good coffee. Lots of games to pass the time and keep you off your phone and interacting with your companions. Can be tough to find parking.
Love the game idea, were coming back! Nice, calm atmosphere in the morning. Taco bowl was tasty and not too much food. Only improvement would be to have real silverware instead of plastic!
So happy they are open late now and the board games are awesome. The coffee and food has always been great. Also, the free 1.5 hour parking at the corner of Woodland and 11th is a very nice addition.
Great brewed coffee and tea options. Fun, quirky atmosphere. The floor-to-ceiling bathroom art is especially entertaining. If I had one critical remark, is that the music is just a little too loud. Its a great mix, dont get me wrong, but if you are coming to study or read, be sure and bring headphones.
Loved it - funky, bohemian - the essence of East Nashville. Many sumptuous and tempting drinks on the menu, but I’m a drip coffee girl, so they had me covered. You’ll want to chill here with the hipsters all day!
Best latte Ive found around Nashville. Cool environment if you like to play board games as well.
Casual, eclectic, delicious (and different) breakfast selections and good coffee. They have almost any game you can think of. Its a great place to bring a small group of friends to play a game or to sit and do work on the computer. Super chill vibe.
Bongo East is sick. They have good coffee and a huge selection of board games. I have been in there a few times and it has always been a good experience.
Way expensive for OK coffee, just short of $5 for thier smallest mocha. Food, while creative and tasty, is often very slow to come out. The staff is super friendly but I think itll be a while before I go back.
Love love love the coffee. Love their mission to support small, sustainable coffee growers around the world. Love to atmosphere of this laid-back but slightly trendy coffee shop. Love stopping by for a Grateful Bomb on a lazy morning :)
My favorite coffee shop in east Nashville. Great coffees, bagel sandwiches, hummus plate, baked goods... not a very extensive menu, but everything on it is good. Lots of board games to play and a good amount of seating. Gets very busy on weekends! Also, they are open at 6am so you can snag some caffeine for your commute.
Games are FREE! They are in really good condition and I hope everyone keeps working together to keep them in good condition to keep them free! KEEP THEM AWAY FROM MESSY KIDS!!! Drinks are great too. We stayed here for a couple of hours on a rainy Sunday and played lots of bored games. A great rainy day place.
Some nice healthy eating choices and coffee drinks. It is a find your own parking, but a nice place.
Staff needs to be retrained. Ask for a light roast he doesnt even listen and then after serving you tells you he only had dark roast and shuts the window in your face!!!
A really great cafe, and lots of fun board games. I stopped in the other night and the owner offered to teach me how to play a great board game! I had lots of fun playing and watching others play!
Great, cozy spot at 5 Points. Great coffee & staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Check out the mens room...if youre a dude...(or if you feel like a dude). Try their cookies!
First time customers...Cute, quirky neighborhood coffee house, serving breakfast and lunch. Service was friendly. We had the Fishy Bomb and the Egg Bomb w/crispy bacon. Both sandwiches were very good. There are other menu items on the lighter side like oatmeal or just a bagel with cream cheese, to name a few, all for a good price. We didnt have any coffee (I know, I know) but it smelled really good. Bathrooms clean with interesting wall decor.
Right in the heart of East Nashvilles vibrant & colorful 5 Points area, this coffee/breakfast/lunch spot is always busy but never a long wait. Two walls full of games, some outdoor seating, great casual meals, and a comical art discovery in the mens restroom (no, I have NOT experienced the womens restroom) make this an easy choice for a place to chill for a while whether youre a coffee hipster or not. BONUS - recently installed swinging benches arranged in a fun and Instagram worthy circle!
Bongo is always good, and this one feels most like a place you can actually go to. Its not packed with college kids like Belmont; its not difficult to reach like at The Omni; its not tiny like Bongo on Tenth. Parking isnt really there, but if youre resourceful, you can find street parking all around the local area.Bongo makes good coffee, and their baked goods are tasty as usual. The added benefit of the Game Cafe separates this place from many others. Asking coffee places in the East End, this is a very good one. Check it out!
Great coffee spot. Tons of board games on the wall to play with friends! I recommend their specialty drink Grey Skies iced! Food was just okay (I had the fancy grilled cheese)
Such nice folks here. Always pleasant to deal with. Thats why I choose this coffee spot instead of other in East Nash, even though parking is sometimes an issue. Still worth it.
A charming coffee shop that serves a great cup of joe! Its in a nice neighborhood with plenty to see nearby as well.
Coffee, bagels, board games. Whats not to like? They run excellent seasonal specials on coffee drinks, along with your standard espresso latte and cappuccino offerings. Service on these has always been very quick for me so this is a good spot to grab and go if you are in a hurry. If you are not feeling that they also offer some kamboucha chai tea and green or black teas. If you are here for the varied selection of board games you may also prefer one of the rotating beers on tap.Speaking of board games they offer a curated shelf of classics like Monopoly, Battleship and Scrabble along with tons of modern board organized by type and level of difficulty. Seating is pretty ample but because of folks playing longer games it can get crowded. If two of you are at a larger table expect people to ask to sit with you. To be honest if you want to sit and drink coffee or mess around solo on your laptop Id strongly recommend a different location. This place is the definition of Good for GroupsIf you need food they offer several bagel sandwiches and a few panini style. Im a particular fan of the Greatfull Bomb and The Adult Grilled Cheese. Both come with a sun-dried tomato cream cheese that is tangy with a deeper umani hit than plain cream cheese. Also there is no patio per se but there are a few chairs right out the door you can grab to enjoy your boardgames and coffee on a nice day.
Played a 2.5 hour session of d&d, staff was supportive and chill, you already know the coffee and baked goods are fire cuz its bongo, parking was affordable and canned wine was as good as it needed to be (rosé all day). All in all, had a great time, will probably schedule another campaign session here
Local place, which I always like. Before noon and already out of chai. High prices...$26 for 2 drinks, breakfast sandwich and bagel...but all good tasting. Great selection of games. I would return.
Relaxing place to meet talk have coffee desert.and or play some old board games with friends or make some new ones
Nice that they now have board games, more food options and are open later.
Coffee, food, and service are really good! Intereting interior. Only single use containers and utensils are available though.
The space is great for meeting, though it gets pretty loud during the busy times. The main problem is that my clothes ALways smell like spices after I leave! Very noticeable. Otherwise great spot. I really love the signature drinks and the baked goods!
Good coffee and beer. Toys for kids to play with. Ok for working, not great though. Good for hanging out and talking.
Love it. Great coveffee. Great atmosherevee
The coffee here is wonderful and is some of the best in town but what really makes this place is the vibe of the atmosphere and patrons. The library of board games is one of the coolest things Ive ever seen in a coffee shop!
I get lattes here usually once a week and theyre delicious. they are a little pricey though
I got a hazelnut breve that made me a believer. If youre worried about fat, this drink is NOT for you. If you want a latte that will make you question why you ever stepped foot in another coffee store, this is the one. It was insert expletive here good. Go get you one.
Came for the coffee, stayed for the games. And the coolest gamers in town.
Awesome place. Great atmosphere. The boss loves his shop, and the employees are super nice.
Great place to hangout and have some awesome coffee.
I stopped in here before a football game last Sunday. I ordered two iced chia teas and two muffins. My total was $22. Thats pretty steep. The coffee was average tasting, the muffins were pretty good.
Great place to have a conversation. Open floor plan, good coffee, and just the right amount of background noise. The bathrooms are a riot with colorful cartoons.
Good coffee, very friendly staff, and an amazing collection of games with no fee to play. My group comes here at least once a week because its just a great place to hang out.
Good coffee, great selection of games with helpful tags for difficulty levels, and cool tables with cup holders. Would lrobprobvisit here once a week if I lived nearby.
Loved this place! Awesome coffee and breakfast.
Best coffee shop in East Nashville!
It opens at 7am so u can absolutely get your morning coffee here!
Great place. Good coffee that isnt over priced. Fun atmosphere. Would recommend. (Parking can be difficult)
Cool place to play board games and get a drink.
One of my favorite places to go with friends and family
Great service and super interesting choices for coffee, tea, and food! Wouldve loved to have been able to experience more while I was in town (I think I went 3 days in a row).
No cold brew takes a star for me, but the iced coffee wasnt overly acidic, which is difficult to do. It also wasnt terribly watered down, as iced coffee commonly is. The decor was like a repurposed Barnes and Noble, which Id expect given the neighborhood. The abject lack of proper coffee houses in the area means that this is somewhere visited in spite of, rather than due to, the quality.
Such a cool local chain of coffeeshops! They have some of the most interesting coffee drinks I have ever experienced yet...they were actually good! The staff was always friendly/helpful and the environment was always cool! Great place!
Consistently good coffee and food. Great meeting place (can be loud when busy or when roasting), free WiFi, local art on the walls (changes regularly), funky vibe thats typical of East Nash, excellent staff. Bongo is a Nashville staple.
Food and coffee are great, as is the service and the space itself. Not a fan of the bright gymnasium lighting or the acoustic treatment at this Bongo location - it can be a bit loud. It seems a bit more like a cafeteria than a warm, comfortable coffee shop, but maybe thats just me. Now also serving a small selection of craft beers.
One of the top coffee places in Nashville. I recommend anything on the menu, especially if it’s their fall time drinks.
