Karen and her team are AMAZING! Karen is so sweet and made every appointment fun. I was a COVID bride, so my wedding was postponed one year. I had my alterations completed for my first wedding and Karen was super supportive and offered to continue to help me get the best fit out of my wedding dress even for the second wedding. I ended up not needing any further alterations and I felt so beautiful on my wedding day when it finally came!

Karen Hendrix is the best in bridal alterations! Despite living 4 hours from Nashville, I couldn’t trust anyone but Karen, who was recommended by Adorn Nashville, with my alterations. Karen and team helped minimize the number of appointments required due to my travel, but the travel was 100% worth it for the peace of mind that my dress would be treated with care and altered perfectly. I loved wearing my dress on my wedding day and look forward to seeing it in photos from my wedding day for years to come!

Out of all the things about wedding planning, I was dreading wedding dress alterations the most for various reasons. It’s hard to trust someone with the most expensive dress I will probably ever wear. Karen and her team made my dress fit so well and I feel so much relief. They were also reasonably priced within the range I was expecting after researching online- not cheap but I definitely feel like I got more than my money’s worth. After the second (2/3) fitting the dress wasn’t fitting quite as I wanted it to- they did a great job on the alterations but it just wasn’t looking right to me. I called Karen to discuss a few changes I wanted to make and she let us do an additional fitting and carefully listened to all my concerns and made all the changes. We shortened a strap, brought up a waist line, and removed the cups they originally inserted so I could do a more natural look with a sticky bra. Now the dress fits exactly how I was envisioning and I’m so looking forward to wearing it.

Karen went above and beyond while tailoring my dress. The best experience i’ve ever had with fitting anything. She listened to everything that I wanted and had ideas to fix details in the dress and make it just how i envisioned. Also when I told her my mom was going to be in town last minute she found a way to squeeze us in, in between appointments so my mom could see the dress! I am so excited to put the dress back on for the wedding day! I can’t recommend Karen enough. Also very well priced!!

Karen & her team of seamstresses were unbelievable! They took great care of me & made my dress fit the exact way I wanted it to. The dress faux buttons over the zipper, naturally bent away (instead of covering the zipper up) due to the zippers structure. I didnt want it to lay this way, because when it was on, it made it appear that the dress was too tight, which wasnt the case at all. Karen made adjustments to the dress & added extra hooks to make this fabric lay flat so that I was not uncomfortable in my dress the day of. Her team works to go above & beyond for her clients.

Amazing! We call Karen our fairy godmother. She cares so much about her clients and her work is magnificent. She transformed my 30 year old silk wedding gown into a masterpiece heirloom my daughter wore for her wedding. Make sure to book Karen for her day of services. It was a life saver and we didn’t have to worry about a thing!!! Karen is the BEST!

LOOK NO FURTHER -- Karen is an absolute miracle worker. She tailored my wedding dress effortlessly, and it fit like an absolute dream. She is efficient, incredibly warm, and very, very talented (as well as affordable). I cant recommend her enough, and will absolutely be revisiting her for any alterations in the future. Karen and her team are so sweet and so skilled at what they do! They were truly know what they are doing.I only have two gripes. The first is that the dress was was not ready for pickup on the previously scheduled pickup day. I was getting married back in Indiana (Karen Hendrix Couture is in Nashville) so I had packed up my wedding essentials and made arrangements to go back to Indiana right after my dress pickup appointment. When I got to the shop, unfortunately the dress was not at all ready and I didn’t get any sort of phone call informing me of this before my “pickup” appointment. I was charged an additional $40 (on top of the $700 already paid) for something I thought we had already talked about and on top of that I had to then wait until the next week to pick up my dress and finally make my way back home to Indiana to get married.My second gripe is that a handful of pins were left in my dress. After my final fitting I didn’t try the dress on again until wedding day. One of the pins was literally stuck in my foot on wedding day while taking wedding party pictures before the wedding (ouch!!)😭 thank goodness for a great maid of honor and great bridesmaids who got all the pins out for me.I paid OVER $700 in alterations so I was expecting everything to be on point!

Planning a wedding during COVID was SO difficult because I didn’t know if any of my decisions would come to fruition! The dress was the only concrete thing I could count on. So when it came to getting it altered, I knew I wanted to invest in the whole experience instead of worrying about cost. Luckily for me, Karen Hendrix Couture was very reasonably priced AND delivered on being one of the most magical experiences of planning. I will never forget how special Karen and Lisa made me feel the first time I put on my dress there. I remember closing my eyes and feeling like an actual bride for the first time. They really listened to what I wanted while offering gentle suggestions. My dress had stitchings of delicate flowers and beading and I wanted to add the same look to my waist. They spent hours looking and found flowers and beads that matched my dress EXACTLY, which they intricately added to my waist line. They hemmed the dress perfectly with my shoes and the French bustle was stunning. We also had an heirloom veil that they refurbished which will make it last so much longer!!! Trusting them was SO EASY because of their experience and kindness, and my dress turned out better than I could’ve imagined. Thank y’all so much!!! 100/10

Karen and her ladies were great. They were willing to work with me as I changed my mind about the bust and belt on my dress and scheduled extra fittings as needed. She is very professional and I knew I could trust her with my dress.

Karen and her team are AMAZING! I felt important and special every step of the way. I had a couple appointments with the team to make sure my wedding dress was perfect. Even through COVID, Karen and her team were willing to help every step of the way. My wedding unfortunately had to be pushed back a whole year, but Karen was so helpful and allowed me to complete my fittings so that my dress will be ready for me for my wedding next year. My dress is more beautiful than I could ever imagine now that it is fitted! I had to have the hips brought in a little bit, the straps shortened, and my dress shortened quite a bit because Im very small. My dress now fits me like a glove! Karen is so personable and so sweet. I wish I could write for days about her because they deserve it. If you bring your dress to her, you can be confident that it will turn out PERFECT!

Karen Hendrix is absolutely AMAZING!!! I feel compelled to share my story with current and future brides. When I found Karen, I had already spent over five months in a large variety of bridal shops all over Tennessee. I was starting to get a little discouraged due to me not finding the “perfect dress”. Yes, I did come across some dress that were absolutely amazing, but these dress were also out of my price range or the alterations I would’ve needed to make would’ve been way too expensive. It had come down to me having to buckle down and get a dress so I would have one in time for my wedding, and so I tried Google. I went to a couple of dress makers, but their work wasn’t up to par or when I describe to them the kind of dress I wanted they would tell me they couldn’t do that due to my bust or it wouldn’t flatter my figure. To be honest, if I am the one getting married and paying for the dress, I should be able to have any dress I want regardless of what my body shape looked like. I tried one more dress place which was called Karen Hendrix Couture. I really had lost all hope in finding a dress at this point, but I decided to contact them anyway. When I first got there Karen was so welcoming and warm. She really made me feel at home. I voiced my concerns to her about me not being able to find a dress that had all the things I wanted and she listened and began to sketch as I talked. Next thing I knew, Karen had drew my dream dress. There was no holding back on my vision of the perfect wedding dress nor did she make me feel like there was nothing I wanted that she couldn’t make work for my figure. Karen gave me back the faith I needed in making sure I would look perfect on my wedding day. At the end of my first dress fitting appointment, it was late in the day, Karen was about to leave out with me and she stopped and said we must pray before we leave. With me being a preacher’s kid, this meant everything to me that she spread not only the love for her brides, but a love for our creator. Every appointment with Karen was fun, exciting to the mind, and filled with love, hard work and care for all I wanted in my dress. My dress turned out amazing. It was more than I expected it to be and I feel like I owe Karen more than what my dress was worth due to all the hard work she put into my dress and the indescribable feeling I felt when I put my dress on the day of my wedding. I enjoyed my experience so much with Karen that I still keep in contact with her months after my wedding. I really feel like my dress should be featured in Premier Bride or Wedding Style magazine. The details and hard work Karen puts into each bride’s dress is not just a show. Karen works on dresses well into the late hours to make sure that everything is perfect. She takes dresses home to work on them and spends endless hours in doing so. On my wedding day, Karen came to make sure that my dress fit perfectly and that it looked good in pictures. Karen definitely walking in her God giving talent of making couture dresses and I would recommend her to all women who embark on the blessed journey of getting married. Karen Hendrix Couture should be the FIRST PLACE you go to for your customized couture dress which will be made perfect for you on your wedding day. Karen was so welcoming, sweet, fun, and yet still so professional. She and her team were so easy to work with. At my very first alterations appointment she told me “we’re going to make this wedding dress your own,” and after my final fitting I can say with confidence she did just that. My experience was very positive and Karen and her ladies did lovely alterations on my wedding dress. So much attention to detail to make sure you look absolutely stunning in your dress and that it fits like it was made for you.My only gripe was that I requested and mentioned a number of times that I would like the hem to be off the ground so that I wouldnt step on it while walking/dancing and that request was shot down and denied every time. On my wedding day I stepped on it so many times Im surprised I didnt rip it. All those beautiful ballroom dance lessons just to dance in a basic box pattern so that I wouldnt fall on my face.

Karen is the best! She is diligent to ensure your dress is exactly what you want, detailed, and creative. Adding her personality to that and you have the best person I could have hoped to find make my wedding dress.

I know there are not many reviews because people must forget after their big day...but let it be known that Karen was amazing. They fit me in when I needed to be seen, the customer service was outstanding. The seamstresses did an amazing job. Karen works on your dress in the middle of the night if need be in order to have it done on time. She is so classy and elegant. So is her space! I was so disappointed in this experience. I brought my dress here for alterations, because she does custom dresses so I thought she could make the significant alterations I was needing. Her team was certainly skilled enough to accomplish the changes, but she repeatedly(!!!) forgot what we had discussed. In my first appointment, she offered to create a pocket in my dress, and we agreed that she would fix the sleeves, and remove a layer of the crinoline. When I came to my next fitting, she offered again to create a pocket, had not fixed the sleeves, and had not removed the layer of crinoline. Not only had she not done these things, but she seemed to have forgotten that she said she would. At this fitting, she re-wrote down that she was going to do these things, and pinned the hem but said she wouldnt hem it until the layer of crinoline was removed in case it messed with the skirt. She also found a way to charge me another $75 even though at my first fitting she said I was paid in full. I show up for my next fitting and she says okay are we ready for pickup? -- but I was not supposed to pick it up because it was not supposed to be hemmed yet! So I said this, and went to try on my dress, and SHE STILL HAD NOT REMOVED THE CRINOLINE. This time she did it right there in front of me, but I still had to wait several more weeks to see it hemmed, and twice more she forgot to remove the manufacturers bra cups, until, on the day of pickup, I reminded her. All in all, she forgot MULTIPLE times what she said she was going to do, despite writing it down in her voice-dictated phone message system (which does not seem to be working). I hate my dress, and Im getting married next week and still never got pockets. So. Disappointed.

My dress turned out absolutely perfect! Karen spent a lot of time and care ensuring that the dress was just right. She has an extreme attention to detail, which I greatly appreciated because even the slightest changes made a world of difference in the fit. I highly recommend Karen!

If It wasn’t for Karen my daughter would not have had a dress the day of her wedding. I bought my daughter a dress from a shop in Nashville. We bought extra lace and material to make changes to the dress when it came in. Long story short, one week before my daughters wedding and wrong lace and wrong veil. Karen stepped in and made my daughter a wedding dress in a week! The dress was perfect and she is a joy to work with!!

I cant praise Karen enough. I arrived at her doorstep with two separate wedding dresses, neither of which I wanted exactly as is, along with a picture of yet another dress that was my dream dress. Over several fittings and design sessions, Karen painstakingly crafted what was to become my perfect wedding dress. She essentially made it from scratch, using the fabric of the two dresses I purchased and reviewing Pinterest pictures with me, sketches, etc. She was exceedingly patient with me and helped me hone my vision. Karen is SO talented and so kind. I miss seeing her every two or three weeks now that my big day has passed. You are in excellent, competent, caring hands with Karen.

My wedding dress Fairy Godmother!! I purchased my wedding dress in Chicago, where I had my initial alterations done. One week before my wedding (in Nashville), I was so upset because I still did not love the fit of my dress and I was afraid it would be see-through for my outdoor wedding, although the alterations team at the boutique I bought my dress from kept assuring me that it wasnt. Karen had worked with my Mom on her Mother of the Bride dress (which turned out absolutely gorgeous), so she called Karen in a panic. Not only did Karen squeeze me right away, she also had a slip overnighted, made sure that all of the alterations I needed were done perfectly, and truly listened to what I was saying I wanted. In the end, Karen gave me the wedding dress of my dreams! I honestly cant imagine what my wedding day would have been like without Karen. Her incredible talent is matched only by her warm and sweet personality.

My best friend is getting married this weekend, and this alterations company has been the most stressful part of the entire thing. First of all, the alterations cost was much more expensive than other companies in town, but she paid the cost because she wanted her dress to be perfect. Karen has had this dress for months, and when it was finally ready ONE WEEK before her big day, we got to the final appointment and it still wasnt done. Karen didnt even call to tell her it wasnt going to be done before she got to the appointment all excited to take it home with her. Also, once she tried it on, another bridesmaid and I found multiple things that needed to be adjusted. The beads on the back didnt cover the zipper and it was crooked, and the bottom of the beads needed to be adjusted as well, as it didnt line up. The lace wasnt sewn on the bottom, there were still pins EVERYWHERE, we couldnt even really practice doing the bustling because even that wasnt done!! So she swears to my best friend that it will be done Tuesday (which means Katie has to make a 3 hour round trip AGAIN during her wedding week into town to get this dress, and then guess what happens? Karen calls this morning to say it still wont be done. My best friend is sobbing, shes so stressed, and Karen blatantly tells her that shes overbooked herself and theres no way itll be done today.On Friday, we asked if it could be picked up Sunday, and Karen said theyre closed that day. In my opinion, I dont give a flip if youre closed, if you promise a bride something, you make it happen, especially this close to her wedding day. Im so disappointed in this business. Just a warning to future brides to stay away from this woman who doesnt come through on her promises, does shotty work, and WAY overcharges. SO disappointed!!
