While there’s less space than in the old shop and they have gotten rid of the fake Starbucks (there’s already one next door), they seem to be doing more with less space. they made the sensible decision to move the clothing and merchandise downstairs and have employed a better layout. While the top floor hasn’t quite been settled yet, you get the idea that you should still have essentially the same great selection of books as they did before.

I love this store and frequent it often as a student at the university. However, I have recently run into several issues with the Bartleby company that the cashiers push us to sign up for. Essentially, all you have to do is provide your email to the company for 20% off your entire Barnes & Noble purchase, and then cancel your subscriptions so you dont get charged monthly. Seems great in theory, but it is unfortunately a scam that is taking a lot of money from a lot of university students/families. I was being charged for two separate accounts for four months without receiving any notice that I was being charged or had a subscription to this company. I tried to speak with their customer service in order get a full refund, but I am still out $80. I know that doesnt seem like a lot, but for a university student, getting scammed out of that kind of money is a big deal. Additionally, the customer service has been pretty shady about the whole situation. All in all, I love this bookstore. The Vandy gear is awesome and this is where I get the majority of my school books. I just wish the cashiers were aware that this is a scam so they wouldnt encourage customers to sign up for it. I know that the cashiers are just trying to help us save 20%, but it unfortunately cost me much, much more than that.

Guess what they have a pretty good selection I was really impressed were not talking just the Monopoly type either were talking about good old Euro board games. The prices were reasonable as well so if you need something and youre in the area you can swing by just make really good sense for people that are college students there at Vanderbilt or even Belmont

DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOKS! I have used them twice, and both times were disasters and they did nothing to fix their errors. First, they listed all the wrong textbooks for my section, as a result of which I prepared for the wrong classes, wasnt able to get my books in time for classes (some took weeks to get materials), and I lost hundreds of dollars. I was never even given an apology from the store, but was rather told they dont make mistakes (the school administration apologized for the bookstores mistakes, but didnt actually help).Later, I ordered a used textbook, it took weeks to process, and I was then given a new one at a new price, at which point it was too late to pursue other options. The store gave no notice at sale that they were increasing the price. The website and phone number are also constantly broken. This store is a waste of time and energy. Buy your textbooks elsewhere.

Not a real Barnes & Noble Noble. Very limited book selection. UPDATE: Yes, of course I went upstairs--and the fact that your response /suggestion was written 8 months after my review only reinforces the accuracy of 1 star. Google Maps did not differentiate this as B&N Education, Inc. If it had, I would have known to drive all the way to Cool Springs. While this store does have smaller sections of some categories found in a full Barnes and Noble, it does not carry many categories expected in that store. Unless youre a student in need of textbooks and things with the school logo, youll be more likely to find what you want at a real, full-size Barnes and Noble.

This B&N is connected to Vanderbilt. You not only get a decent section of books but can purchase a nice Vandy shirt as well. They have a coffee shop downstairs with limited seating. The only downside is parking. The lot in front of the store can get filled up really fast with people going to the many other stores in the building. The garage isnt far but it charges you. The bookseller will scan your ticket for you so theres no charge.

Barnes and Noble is my favorite bookstore. I dont have one in my city, so I look forward to visiting when Im in Nashville. I normally go to the one in Cool Springs, but we were touring Vandy and stopped in at that location. All I can do is apologize to the clerk for making her have to check me out, and, then ask her to validate my parking pass, which someone else did. If you dont like your job, find something else, preferably where you dont have to interact with people. Ill stick to Cool Springs.

Barnes and Noble exhibited the most exquisite selection of novelties. These novelties included Vanderbilt attire (shirts, pants, shoes, accessories, etc.), a broad selection of general reading books for the non-Vanderbilt students, and a specific section set aside for textbooks and other classroom needs for the students. The Barnes and Noble was very clean, modern, and has lots of staff members willing to help you with any needs (whether it be finding a book or looking for a different size in a certain clothing item). The Barnes and Noble is also connected to a Starbucks, and it’s own Café/bakery.

As a non-Vanderbilt customer there wasnt much for me here. To be honest, if you go to school here this is a great place to pick up your textbooks, but otherwise They suffer from many problems: their periodicals section is too small, the sci-fi/ fantasy section was smashed down, the coffee shop is set aside in a confusing manner, and you can hardly find any specific book genres. When I visit Nashville from now on Im sticking to used/vintage book stores instead.

This Barnes and Noble was the WORST book store I have ever been to in my life. My friend and I were visiting Nashville for the first time and we saw that there was a Barnes and Noble in Nashville. One of the worst things that we ever did was go into this store.First, I know its associated with Vanderbilt University . However, does half the store really need to be all Vanderbilt University items that you can purchase?!?! Its a bookstore, so sell mostly books. However what really topped the whole thing was the rudeness of the staff. Not one time was I ever asked if I needed help finding anything or even just to say hi. Also, I asked a man about seeing if a book was in stock. This man was some type of manager there and he wasnt the friendliest. Also, there was a woman who was training a new employee there and I was right in front of them looking at books. They didnt even say hi or offer any customer service whatsoever. The place was just incredibly rude. Also, in this store, it seemed like the liberal viewpoint was very prevalent and was given preference. Please include conservative viewpoints also.Whoever said Nashville was one of the friendliest cities lied. Its a very rude place of which I will not be visiting again any time soon.
