We had a great time. The staff was super cool and helped us out! Thanks from the Louisiana couples!
Great, curated selection of wines, liquors and beers/ciders.
Great place. Beautiful atmosphere. Incredible wine selection, best Ive seen in the Nashville area so far. Solid craft beer selection for the beer drinkers. Fantastic blend of liquors as well. Check out the $60 mixed wine bag for a good mix of daily drinking wine. Will be back. Probably often.
I LOVE this place. They are so helpful and I am never disappointed with their service, selection or the bottles I buy. This is such a fun place to go mill around for the perfect gift, romantic dinner planning or just to grab a bottle for later.
Incredible selection and very knowledgeable staff. When we visited all three members on staff were kind enough to spend time talking to us about their diverse selection of wine, most of which youd never find at any other wine store. If youre looking for a great bottle of wine at any price point, wander in here and ask for a recommendation. Youll avoid all the mass market stuff out there, spend the same amount of money, and leave with a great bottle. If youre interested, the staff is happy to spend the time talking through the wine and sharing their knowledge of the maker, grape variety, history of the wine region, etc. Bottom line? Skip the grocery store wine aisle and make a stop here for better wine and great people.
I called to speak someone about sponsorship for a local event and the person who answered the phone was very rude and hung up in my face after saying “we’re a very small company and we don’t do anything like that.” I THINK WOULD NEVER purchase from this company for my new establishment. Wow!
Great music playing, good people.
Best wine/liquor store in town. Not the biggest, but definitely the best-curated.
Awesome custom tailored collection. Owner very knowledgeable
Lots of heat damaged wine here. About 40% of the wine I have purchased here over the last 2 years have been lacking in aroma and flavor, oxidized, or with elevated acetic acid not typical of the bottlings or producers making these wines. I have a cellar full of many of these wines in another state and the difference is obvious. A big disappointment.I Spoke to a manager at the East Nashville location, she denies the issue so it will not be fixed. She said I could bring the opened wines in to talk about it, but she said I was wrong anyway so why would I bother.
Great place for small production wines very friendly staff
Great selection and very helpful staff!
Great quality of wines in this small store. I loved this place!!
Good selection of wine and spirits, friendly staff, and 6 for $60 wine deal is great for a variety to keep on hand.
Great selection, highly recommend
Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great selection and ambiance.
Really disappointingly small selection of Irish whiskey. Literally 7 different bottles.
Outstanding in every way. Everyone should shop here.
Love the store. Great staff and a very comprehensive selection despite the fact that it isnt huge. By that I mean that they have most all the bases covered, but they arent going to have deep selections in every category. The Beaujolais selections are fantastic (my own personal favorite).
Great local spot with solid selection and knowledge able staff - well done
Always have been assisted and checked out politely and pleasantly. great looking staff and easy on the eyes
Great wine selection and knowledgeable staff!
Great local store with a wonderful selection and super helpful staff. They also have a very smart social distancing policy for pickups during the pandemic.
Gorgeous space with gorgeous wines! Knowledgeable staff and several accessories that were not only interesting but beautiful. I recommend signing up for their email newsletter.
Great little wine shop with a great selection, knowledgeable & helpful staff and lots of unique spirits.
Woodland Wine Merchant is my go-to for wine. The staff is courteous and very helpful. The wines are all selected and are from nearly all regions. They excel at giving recommendations that are both fun and affordable. Go there and try something new. You wont regret it!
Incredibly knowledgeable staff and reasonable prices. You can find a great $10 bottle of wine or an amazing $50 bottle. I usually tell them my budget and they always steer me in the right direction.
Fantastic selection for such a small retail footprint. I’ll definitely shop there on my next Nashville trip. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable!
Beautiful wine shop in an old bank. Classy interior. Clean and sparse with a great selection of wine and spirits. The staff was really helpful as well.Definitely worth visiting!
Man, the people here are so freaking helpful. They have excellent advice for gift giving and they do a great job of wrapping presents too.
Terrific selection and great prices. They separate their wines in a much more convenient way here, more by region and by price, rather than type. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly; their suggestions have never steered me wrong, no matter what price range I was looking for.
Knowledgeable, friendly staff, and the wares are fabulous. They also recycle their price tags. How great and green is that? Love this place.
You cant go wrong going into Woodland wine merchant! Great staff great selection and I usually walk out with something new that ends up becoming a favorite. Come on in and say hi to Will, Chris, or Tyler who will help you out.
I HIGHLY recommend this for your next wine purchase! Woodland Wine Merchant had very friendly and knowledgeable staff without being pretentious. They helped us find just what we were looking for in our price range.
Not the largest, but the finest wine/liquor store in Nashville. Everything has been highly curated, so its almost impossible to purchase a bad bottle. Great ambience as well, and super friendly and knowledgeable staff.
High end wine store. Fairly knowledgeable staff. Decent selection.
My go-to local spot for both wine and beer. The beer selection isnt huge but its varied and they try to rotate stuff in and out when they can.
Awesome staff, and great wine collection. Also great selection of whiskeys, mezcals, and local beers. This is your one-stop shop for alcohol. Plus, youll feel super cool.
Local wine shop where folks are pleasant and know their stuff. Love this place.
Great place for wine and spirits. We love the 6 for $60 deal. It is a great way to try new wines.
Nice selection
Will and his crew are extremely knowledgeable and approachable. The shop is thoughtfully stocked with an excellent variety of wines and beers. Highly recommended.
I needed help finding some sake. The guy at the counter went straight to it. I was in & out within minutes. Cool little shop.
Probably the best wine merchant in Nashville. They have an excellent sampling from most of the famous wine regions and some obscure ones. Also a beer and sake selection.
Best Wine Retail Experience I have ever had. Great selection. Cool Staff (that is well versed in aged-ethanol).
Great selection of wine and beer. They always seem to have stuff that nobody else does. The staff is knowledgeable and always willing to help and lend a suggestion.
Friendly staff assisted with small, eclectic, and interesting selection of craft beer. Fun.
Wide variety of wine and spirits from which to choose. Very helpful customer service.
Good quality spirits. Offer tastings on fridays of different spirits they carry. I went there look at the small of eclectic tequila and mezcal section.
I feel lucky to call this my neighborhood wine shop. A true gem in Nashville. The most knowledgeable and personable staff. What a small business should be.
They sponsor one of the best beer fests in Tennessee.
Awesome selection in a small, cozy store. They ordered pommeau for me on Saturday, and had it in by Tuesday. They also carry some exotic wines and liquors to go with a broad selection of classic standards.
Expensive, but a nice selection.
While looking for the nearest liquor store we found this place on google -- when we walked in we thought we were in the wrong place- looked too nice - we were just looking for a bottle of whiskey! WE were surprised that they werent overpriced! Ill be back there, but for wine next time.
Love this place. The folks are friendly and special orders have been timely.
Ive never bought a bad bottle of wine from this place. Excellent selection. Gift wrapping is a nice touch.
Amazing selection of wines and hard ciders. Great atmosphere and a very helpful staff. Recommend!
Best and most interesting selection of wines and spirits in Nashville
Great selection. Awesome staff.
Great selection of wine with tastings on Saturday!
This place is so good. They dont carry junks from distributors. People there are very knowledgable. Cider section rocks.
Theyve got a great selection of wine and spirits. Everyone there has a damn near encyclopedic knowledge of everything on the shelf. From mezcal to merlot theyll let you know whats up.
Small store with a dense collection of quality wines and liquor. Knowledgeable staff and reasonable prices. Nice collection of amaros. If you are an amateur mixologist you owe it to yourself to pay them a visit. Free parking is adjacent to building.
Great friendly and helpful staff! Unique wine, beer and spirits for any budget.
The 6 for $60 is our go-to. Good and interesting wines at a great value.
I dont know enough to know if their selection is good.
Nice selection of fune wines and craft beer.
This is the best wine shop Ive ever been in. What an amazing and unique collection of wine--as well as spirits and beer. The staff is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but personable and charming.
An aunt was in town and mentioned she was having a hard time finding Innis and Gunn beer. We stopped by Woodland Wine and the gentleman who helped us was able to order the beer, and have it ready for pickup the next day.
Great and knowledgable staff. I always feel very taken care of when I visit, and always walk away with a great new wine or cocktail recipe idea!
Great selection of organic and bio dynamic wines. Always a great experience with staff.
A review from a whiskey guy who doesnt know anything about wine:Woodland not the biggest liquor store in the area but that just means they dont have ten isles of budweiser or cheap swill booze that comes in plastic bottles. What you will find instead is a smaller but well curated stock of fine beer and spirits. The main theme here is quality over quantity. Its a boutique shop but that means they also have time to care about the fine details. Youll find lots of nice finishing touches like custom labels on their bags and price tags attached by string instead of stickers. The staff is extremely friendly and incredibly accommodating - much more so than youll find at the larger warehouse type stores. I also hear they know a thing or two about wine, so theres that as well.
Awesome selection. Love the 6 for $60
Well-curated selection of wines and uncommon spirits
I love their selections and they are really good about making suggestions. Cutest little wine store around.
Fabulous place and the staff was so helpful, we will be back without a doubt !!
Great service, good selection although not the largest in town. Friendly folks.
Great helpful staff, not the largest selection in town, but everything is high quality.
Good selection! Awesome bourbon store picks!
Mostly wine but they do have a good whiskey selection
Theyve got many different kinds of wine and great staff
Knowledgeable staff, boutique selections, decent prices
Helpful and friendly the prices are pretty good too!
Incredibly knowledgeable and helpful staff. Amazing selection that varies from great bargain buys to the best 1er Cru.
6 for $60!
Pretty good selection, for a smaller shop, and really friendly staff.
Awesome selection of wines, very friendly and helpful staff and also knowledgeable about what they sell. Will return.
Great selection and even better folks. They know their wine.
This place is fantastic and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.
The staff was very helpful and the selection is great.
Wide selection, helpful staff
My favorite wine shop. Great selection, not pretentious.
Friendly staff and good wine & beer.
Vast selection and friendly service
They carry Dutch jenever. Bols and Corsair. Good prices.
Great staff, unique selections
Definitely my favorite liquor store in Nashville. The store has style and it has taste, and it somehow subtly makes me feel great about spending more and more money every time I go in.They are indeed a Wine Merchant as the label would suggest, and they seem to do a bang-up job of making that work. A pretty great selection arrayed in really nice light hardwood racks, their stuff ranges from light $10 bbq-and-backporch wines to $200+ sit-in-your-cellar luxuries. Theyve got a little of everything, and are careful not to fill their racks with 867,7898,230947 different subtle varieties of cabernet at the expense of leaving out lesser-known varietals and blends. I also like the 6 for $60 special thats great for stocking up on wine to have on hand for dinners, or the aforementioned bbqs! But really, what the hell do I know about wine??Where this place really shines in my opinion is the beer and liquor offerings. (And the style, yes, the style. Did I mention it just *looks* cool in there??) Its *the* place in town to find obscure cocktail ingredients. While Midtown or other places might have a lot as well, you dont have to spend your precious time poking through a ton of cramped shelving to find what you need here. While far from a copious selection, the liquor shelves are expertly curated, eschewing your 40K varieties of candy-flavored vodka for some really fine spirits along with very reasonably-priced standbys. The knowledge level matches the selection, and if theres an ingredient youre curious about, theyll likely have a good idea what to do with it, or at the very least a thoroughly detailed description of the product. If by chance you *dont* find what you need, theyre also happy to do special orders down to the individual bottle. Orders arrive quickly, are announced by a friendly phone call, and will have your name affixed in a very fashionable personalized stamp when you come to pick up. They dont skimp on service.Beer selection is great, so far as Tennessee goes, and they do what they can to get some of the more interesting varieties available into your hands. Of course their hands are tied by distribution patterns and our arcane legalisms, but they know whats good, and theyre doing what they can to get you the best, or your favorite, or some wonderful combination thereof. If theres a drawback to Woodland, its only that the staff tends towards the hipster and dour and might not be the most approachable bunch for a lot of folks. They wont bite, but Ill admit, I do hesitate to ask the same questions I might at Green Hills Wine, where the boisterous helpfulness virtually oozes. Theyre a nice enough lot to banter with on a slow day though, and in spite of the staff fitting in seamlessly with the trendiness of the decor, they are a helpful bunch and certainly have never given me the feeling that I wasnt cool enough for their store. And trust me, Im not cool enough for *anyones* store. ; )
