I had a very positive experience here. I was told at a recent visit to the dealership that I needed my rotors resurfaced as well as new brakes. I visited Budget Brakes on Charlotte and they let me know that my brakes easily had another 10-15k miles left on them. They showed me the rotors and even let me watch as they resurfaced so I would understand better what they were doing.As a woman, I often feel like the car industry is trying to take advantage and sell me things I dont need or overcharge me. My visit to Budget Brakes on Charlotte Ave. was a truly refreshing experience. When it is indeed time to get new brakes, I will definitely be back!

I was travelling from out out of state and started hearing a noise in my brakes. The gentlemen were very friendly and inspected my brakes free of charge. Although I need new brakes and rotors they said they were good enough to get me back home safely. I really appreciated that they didnt try to take advantage of me. And they turned me on to a great bbq restaurant to go to for dinner!

The place is a dump (nothing like the pictures), rude employees, and they totally ripped me off and took advantage of me. I am from out of state, went there for just front brake pads, and they charged me $200 after they took them off… they didn’t even inspect them. I was screwed because they removed the old pads before even looking at them which they did on purpose just so I’d have to pay them $200! I work for an upscale mechanic don’t go to these slimeballs.

Staff readily agreed to install parts puchased from Rockauto with rotor resurfacing and brake fluid replacement at a very reasonable price, and performed service promptly when parts arrived. Brakes now work like new - couldnt be happier!

Michael and his team were all so friendly and professional. I feel like they run a very honest business and not try to do or recommend unnecessary jobs. It was Good Friday and I had the day off and drove by and saw their sign. I immediately pulled in and took within an hour they were working on my car. Someone else tried to tell me that I need new breaks very soon. All I needed was a tire plugged. Little did the person know is that I just had my breaks and rotates replaced at Budget Breaks. After receiving a ridiculous quote from somewhere else I came here and they did the work that was needed ( not extra nonsense the just raised the ticket price Like some other places). Dave was fair and very up front about what was needed and what wasnt. very good price ad it was done in what seemed like minutes.I think some places still see a woman and assume we have no clue about cars... if you saw My cousin Vinny then youll understand; my fathers an auto mechanic, my step fathers an auto/marine mechanic, my uncle, my grandfather.....

Big rip off tried to over charge my wife 780$ for front brake pads

When I spoke to the attendant on the fine he told me that they could take care of replacing my breaks starting $89.99. When i arrived, they “evaluated” my car and told me that I needed to replace my rotors and breaks and then provided me with a total of $499.00 for that everything. I was floored. Not only was the front office desk recipient rude, I just I felt misled, I felt like they were throwing me that price because I was a woman. He did not show me a price sheet did not write anything down for me to see and periodically rolled his eyes. I will never go to them again.

Received an advertisement in the mail yesterday. Called this morning Miles took me in immediately. ABS sensor and 2 brake pads later Budget Brakes has one very satisfied customer!!! Great value and added bonus a lifetime warranty!

My husband took my car here today, thinking I only needed pads. As it turned out I needed everything fixed. Everything was rusted out!! Drove here because Express Oil said I needed to replace my rotors and break pads and it would cost me $330. These guys here at Budget said that that didnt need to be done at all (my rotors and break pads were practically brand new), showed me the real issue (very minor), and fixed it. All of this was done in under 15 minutes and they did it for free! Fantastic and honest place! :D

I had a very great experience with them.

Visiting Nashville and needed to have breaks replaced during visit. We originally called and asked if they were able to check our breaks as they started making a rubbing sound on front passenger side. We didn’t want to chance driving 8+ hours home through mountains on faulty breaks. During our call they told us to come right away or they could work us in at 2pm. We arrived within 10 minutes of ending the call. We sat for 4 hours before they even looked at our car. Once they looked at our car, they called us up about an hour later to tell us our bill was $970 to replace all 4 break pads and 4 rotors. This was a huge red flag so we declined everything except the replacement of the break pads. This alone cost us $487.13. We were charged 47.98 for hardware( The same hardware that comes in the box with breaks)! $160 in labor for 20 minutes it took them to do the job. This place is a high scam. We would have Opted to have our old break pads put back on but they claimed all of them crumbled when taking them off. We got back to our home state and had our rotors looked at as we were told they were in poor condition. The two places we had look at them told us they are in excellent condition and would not warrant them to be changed. This is pure evidence they are nothing but a scam! If you are from out of town- stay away! Their 89.00 break change that they tell you includes labor is false. They will end up charging you almost $1000.00. Thank goodness I took a picture of the invoice to show what they were trying to charge us the $970 for; a simple break change. If you are from out of town- stay away! They will scam you bad! Very shady business!

First if you expect to get cheaper brakes, you are wrong. I paid over $250 for just the brakes. They said I need rotors as well but Ill get a second opinion on that. Also, the place is very not clean. I went to the restroom and the toilet was Unflushed, there was no soap, and I couldnt get the paper towel dispenser to work to dry my unwashed hands. The guy was nice and did explain all the charges tho.

I came expecting to have to get at least my front brakes done. They checked me out and informed me it was only the brake fluid. They topped me off and informed me I had another 8 months in my brakes. My wife went to get brakes and a rotor. The staff was very unprofessional and extremely rude. They also tried to price gouge her. With me having been a mechanic and have family that works in the auto parts industry, I know what should have been charged and she was quoted an extreme amount of money.

These guys were great! Super nice, and very informative of what I needed done to my car. It was kind of pricey but thats only because I wore my brakes and rotors down to the grind. But they were awesome! Hopefully next time theyll give me a deal ;)

After going to another place for an oil change and them trying to sell me a $600 worth repair by telling me if I dont get my brakes done today I will seriously injure myself, I came into Budget Brakes a mess. It has always been hard for me (a woman with no knowledge of cars) to feel comfortable at a mechanic, but these guys were SO NICE and helped me truly understand what was wrong with my car. My experience was very good. My brakes were fixed within a reasonable time. I was not pressured to buy products that were not necessary. Me and my son was at Vanderbilt and my brakes went out, we are 2 hours away from home and a man at the bank recommended Budget Brakes. I had problems with the Antioch and clarksville TN budget break shops over looking the real problem with my breaks.Went to the Charlotte pike shop and David Scott went above and beyond what was required and fixed the mess the other two shops caused and I appreciatedHis integrity so I give his shop 5 stars the others I will never return to.

Let me preface this review by stating it is ONLY towards the Charlotte store, as I have had multiple great experiences with this company at other locations.On 11/28, I scheduled an appointment online for a brake inspection at 12/29@12pm. I showed up early (approx. 11:45am) to check in. After waiting several minutes, an older gentlemen came into the office and started asking me all of my info (name, address, ph#, etc.). I informed him that I already entered all of this online, plus I was a prior customer. With pencil in hand, he stared at his computer, tapped it with his eraser, and quietly said We dont use computers around here.That should have been my cue to leave, but I needed a second opinion on my brakes so, I obliged him and took a seat in the lobby. One hour later, I noticed that no cars in the work bay had moved, and there were no techs in site. I went to the parking lot, and discovered my car had not moved.I approached the front desk and waited a few minutes for help. The older gentlemen came back in the office, at which I told him I needed my keys back so I could leave. With a noticeable surprised tone, he asked Why? Do you have somewhere to be? I told him Yes. I have a job. I had an appointment at noon for a brake inspection, and my car hasnt moved in over an hour. He sat down, confused, and stated Oh, well a full brake replacement is going to take much longer than that, we wont even be able to get your car back in the bay for another hour and half, at least!Unbelievable. I will NEVER return to this location, even if they offered me free service for life.

I appreciate the honesty of this company. I have had my Tahoe in there twice and still I do not need brakes. They put front brakes on my Hyundai and it started making a grinding sound and they fixed it for free. Top notch shop.

Took my car into Budget Brakes for brake replacements. Scheduling an appointment was extremely easy through their website. When I brought my car in I was greeted my the manager and instantly checked-in. Went in today for brake service due to brakes screeching. Was told I didn’t need brakes. They did what they could to take care of noise at no charge. Great customer service!

Extremely deceptive and expensive. Tried to charge me 212.00 to put rotors on the front. Firestone did it for 130.00. On another car they tried to charge me 410.00 for the front brakes and rotors, Firestone bear their price and then they lowered their original price to 170.00. Just be honest the first time !!!!! Beware. Ask around.

BUYER BEWARE. HAD MY DRIVER TAKE A DELIVERY VEHICLE TO BUDGET BRAKES FOR A ROUTINE BRAKE CHECK. BUDGET TOLD THE DRIVER THE BACK BRAKES WERE BAD. THE BRAKE SHOES AND PADS WERE CRACKED AND IT WOULD COST $551.00 TO REPAIR. I HAD THE DRIVER TAKE THE VEHICLE FOR A SECOND OPINION AND WAS TOLD THAT THE BRAKES WERE PERFECTLY FINE.

From what I understand, this is now under a new owner. I recently went in for vibration in my brakes. I had a dollar amount in my head as to what it may cost me, and it was right on point! If youre a woman and youre tired of being taken advantage of, these guys are on the up and up. They explained everything and I dont feel as if they took advantage at all. This Budget Brakes will be my go-to place as long as I need a car! My brkaes feel solid again!

My truck lost its brakes about 5 minutes outside of Nashville and I thought that I was stranded on my road trip. Luckily, we were given very nice service by Chris and the gang, who were able to get us back on the road and even gave us some free brake fluid!

Just stopped at Budget Brakes because my ABS light came on and spoke with the service manager Dustin. Dustin told me that this tends to happen if youve been drivingin a lot of rain but that in his honest opinion it was probably be best for me to drive for a little bit and see if the light went off. Said there was no immediate danger and I thought it was great that he was willing to be so honest without upselling me. If I continue to have an issue with the breaks I will definitely come back here to have them repaired
