I purchased a monthly Service Agreement from Pivotal Home Solutions for my gas hot water heater. I recently had a repair claim for my hot water heater, which was overheating. I called Pivotal Home Solutions to open a repair claim, and they immediately dispatched a local service provider in the Indianapolis area called Northern Comfort Systems. Northern Comfort Systems called me the same day to schedule a technician to my home, which was the next day. Wow, what an amazing response time to repair. I have used major extended warranty service providers for appliance repairs in the last two years, and response time to repair was 1 or 2 weeks.Pivotal Home Solutions used a very competent and professional service provider. The Northern Comfort Systems repair technician was very competent. He immediately diagnosed the hot water heater problem, when another service provider I used earlier in the year could not. The gas valve and thermostat was replaced. My gas hot water heater is now operating to specifications and no longer overheating. I am very pleased and very satisfied with Pivotal Home Solutions and Northern Comfort Systems with the response time and getting my hot water diagnosed and repaired quickly, and done right - the first time. There were no hassles, no copayment and just reassurance my hot water would get fixed quickly.From a very satisfied customer

I have used them three times. Once I talked directly to the office to get service and maintenance contracts. The office was pleasant, friendly and answered all my questions fully. I then used them for a standard yearly cleaning and tune up of the equipment, the service was great. The company they used called me to verify my equipment that was on my account. The company gave me a date the service man called a half a hour before appointment and all went very well.Now for the best part, the office of home solutions called me on the same day as my appointment to make sure I was happy and satisfied with the work. I would recommend pivotal home solutions to anybody.

Horrible company. Father passed away earlier this year and months later we see a a charge on his credit card. We had received NO notice about this charge. Called first time and they assured me they would reverse the charges and close the account. Credit card company sends me letter saying there is that charge to pay (month later). I called Pivotal again and she tells me the confirmation number I got before was for the account closing and the balance is 0. But they never reversed the charge on his card! (Oh and they had a 41 minute wait on their customer service line.) After a hold they say they will send me a pro-rated check (ironically it goes out after I call). I state we never authorized this charge, nor they never sent anything out and I wanted the full refund. On hold again. She has to email the billing department. Hmmm... she says Billing will call me....

ESP has improved over around five years ago.They have a much better attitude and appear to have better technicians available.Worth the money. Keeping appliances and HVAC properly maintained means there will be less trouble - that the equipment will be there for us when we need it.

Customer service is the absolute worst. Get nobody to speak with after holding for over 30 minutes. On the callback from them the problem is still unresolved. They sent no bills for over 3 months and then was told payment was overdue! I have canceled the service and still get bills asking for payment even though I paid already. Also only one person was easily understood as two others had such strong accents it was impossible to decipher. I’m reporting to the BBB. Worst grade possible I give them!!!!!!

Thank goodness I have this coverage! Talk about peace of mind!! Ive used them on numerous occasions and Ive always gotten great results. The places they contract with are great. Two thumbs up!! The wait time to talk to someone is horrible, however. But I attribute that to the fact, most places are terribly shorthanded because no one wants to work. Ive never had to wait for an hour to talk to someone when filing a claim. Today I did. The rep, Gisele, was nice as can be, so that was good. I recommend this coverage to everyone I know!

Them 2 men were curtious and were well mannered. I showed them where the leak was, and they took it from there. They got the leak fixed in just a little while. Then they were on their way to another job. I would advise them to someone else.

Im am on the phone, holding to speak to a representative for exactly 34:05 minutes. Im still holding as I write this review. All I want to do is cancel my plan with this company. Starting out, this company was great. Now, this company is the worst. I have only been reimbursed 1 time, for a refrigerator. I called to get service for my air conditioner. The first guy said he couldnt fix it and the next guy came and added some freon and it worked just fine. Oh BTW Im still on hold 48:01. I had to get electrical work done on my panel, after I paid for the work and sent the receipt in, they told me the work was not covered. Oh snap im actually talking to someone after 51:42. I know that this post will probably be deleted.

Absolute garbage. I was on hold for 45 MINUTES just to talk to a human. Then she said she couldnt find my account if I didnt give her my account number (I didnt have the bill handy). I insisted she MUST be able to find it, and after another 15 minutes ON HOLD she came back with the account. I grilled her on why she said she couldnt find it. And she said she needed my full address. BUT SHE HAD NOT ASKED ME FOR MY ADDRESS. Then I asked when the billing cycle ended. AND SHE HUNG UP ON ME. They are the absolute worst, not just for phone service but actual service. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

It says 24 hours 7 days a week service..get your call answered any day, time, or hour...ive been on hold for 1 hour 19 mins..no one has picked up the phone for me to make a claim...this is my 2nd attempt at doing a claim with pivotal. The first time they had no one to come look at my appliance for weeks.. how would I go without refrigerator for Weeks with kids in the home? Definitely gonna cancel the service!

My experience with this company has been spammy to say the least. Their integrity pales in comparison to other comparable providers such as Homeserve. They take your money quick but avoid answering for service calls. When the techs do finally come out they seem uninterested in finding a solution and their diagnostic always places the issue outside of your contract no matter how wide your coverage is. Homeserve treats you like the paying customer that you are but is currently limited in the services they provide. Pivotal home solutions needs to be investigated for fraud.

If I could give them a zero, I would. The customer service agent I spoke with did not know proper English; she kept telling me I didnt have no coverage and that there aint nothin I can do to help (despite having purchased a service plan from them on the unit I was calling about). Then she proceeded to say, I know you only tryna get stuff for free. Aside from the unintelligible English, which shouldnt be permitted for a company that prides itself on customer service, the accusation that I was somehow trying to cheat the company by attempting to file a claim on a unit for which I purchased a service plan is ludicrous. I will never do business with this company again, and if you value your home appliances, warranty them with another company until this place learns how to train its people not to insult customers and call them thieves when they call in to file a legitimate claim.

I’ve been a Nicor Home Solutions customer for over 15 years. In the past Nicor’s service was good. In the last 6 months I’ve had a problem with my account being credited late to my account. I was sending it to the wrong department but with no help from representatives or supervisors I discovered the problem and corrected it. I am current with payments and wanted to add my Solutions account to my Nicor utility account. I waited 26 minutes for a representative and another 45 minutes more. Finally the representative named Tanisha rudely told me that the system was upgrading and suggested I call back on Monday. This has been a very frustrating experience. I will be looking for a new serviced.

Be warned that if there is a billing error, Accts payable does not pay attention and will screw up a payment refund. Tamara from Escalation dept was so helpful and my issue was about to be corrected and Acct. payable screwed it up. Be careful. I will be moving my protection plan. Customer Service is horrible!

Had an issue with leaking around the door I got about 6 months ago. They came within 2 weeks of my first call and did a quick fix that might fix the problem, but let me know to watch out for it and see if the simple fix would work. When it did not, they came within 1 week of my second call and did a major fix. They explained what they were doing, did quality work, and kept the area clean, and were very courteous. Even went the extra step to add aboard inside to make it look nice. Its weathered 2 major storms with no leaking so looks like its really fixed.

Been a paying customer for some time now with Nicor, had zero issues when my central air went out but still waiting for reimbursement of a furnace replacement from February of this year. Granted I forgot to file a required piece of paper, but took several phone calls to them to find this out. No email or phone call. No communication that my claim had even been denied. Its been another month since I refilled my claim and nothing. They are still taking my money though. I was told I cannot cancel my heat coverage plan until my claim is resolved. I no longer need coverage since my furnace has a factory warranty, although by the time my claim is reviewed and resolved, the factory warranty will be expired. Sad that Nicor decided to change service providers.Final note every time I have called was greeted with someone who would rather not be talking to other human beings.Before someone responds to this post rather not reach out to you via email, and no not posting my personal information. You have gotten enough of my time.

3 stars - Mixed emotions. Although Pivotal has covered a couple of repairs, they wrote off an over-the-stove microwave and we had to go the replace and reimburse route in a house we recently sold. Kept the coverage to ensure reimbursement processed. Called today to check status and was told paperwork recd and in process but will take 6-8 weeks for reimbursement! Explained situation and rep helpful in ensuring no additional premiums deducted on autopay for house we no longer own. But cancellation of the coverage will take another 1-2 billing cycles! Does Pivotal operate in a time warp? Cancellation should be immediate and stop billing immediately, and reimbursement should be based on whether coverage was active at the time costs were incurred, not whether a policy is still active. An auto insurer is liable if coverage was in force at the time of the loss, and it has nothing to do with whether its still in force.Dropping to 2 stars - 10 weeks later (March 2021) - Received reimbursement some time ago - great! Thought everything settled, but no. Received bill for current month coverage and showing previous month overdue! Called them and explained situation. Rep ensured coverage canceled (it wasnt) and advised that I was still responsible for amount on bill. I advised Im not paying anything for coverage that should have been canceled on a house we sold in Nov 2020. His response was, Dont make any difference to me. Great customer service attitude.

Went an entire weekend without having proper working bathroom plumbing because we were waiting on their plumbing services to contact us. They gave our issue to 3 different plumbing companies that were not even available on the weekends. This is truly an awful service with awful customer service.

Ive been using their AC and furnace maintenance program for over seven years. Very satisfied with the quality of technicians and value of the program.Update - September 2020Just had them replace my AC unit. Coverage under the program was provided as per the contract. Todd from service did a great job in explaining the damage to the existing system and recommending replacement options. We have been a Nicor home solutions customer for almost 15 years when we bought our Carrier heating and AC unit from Trade Winds. Their normal service visits have always been excellent with courteous and knowledgeable technicians. In the winter of 2019, when we had the -30 and -40 polar express, the heating system went out on a Saturday evening. On Sunday a tech showed up and said the heat exchanger needed to be replaced. They would order it Monday, get the parts Tuesday and on Wednesday they spent 13 hours rebuilding it. The tech was very diligent and meticulous at the rebuilding!Overall I was pleased with their service, but I think they expanded into other areas, like gas line protection, that seems to be more in the line of insurance than performing any service. And the customer service reps on the phone are always pushing these add on services.Overall though, we have found their service to be very good.

DO NOT use them they only warranty to the outside of your house so if a pipe breaks at the inside of your foundation like ours did you have wasted all that money and you have to pay for the trip visit from the service tech and you still have to pay to get it fixed. Worst experience ever. Assigned 3 different service providers to my issue and all 3 told me they are rejecting the input and claim number. Pivotal then told me to find my own service provider and submit the invoice to them for “possible” reimbursement. This entire debacle started at 9:00 am Sunday 11/01/2020 and their final unacceptable statement came on Monday afternoon. This level of customer service is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!

Extremely disappointed!!!We called to have a repair on our dishwasher and the customers service rep was very rude on one call. They sent out a tech who kept missing the appt. when they did show up they reported they ordered the part but then missed three consecutive appointments. so we went back to Pivotal to have anew contractor come out they rep came out never touched the dishwasher and left and said Pivotal would be in touch with me. Pivotal called me to report the dishwasher was deemed non-repairable and I could take $400. This is a $1000 dishwasher and I explained that the tech never even physically touched the dishwasher.** PLEASE BEWARE OF PIVOTAL **

I had PHS for home warranty coverage, until I had to use them when I had a plumbing issue at home. Called them to send me a plumber OMG, they send someone out from Aqua Flow. He rodded out my main sewer line left the tree roots down in my crawl space n then left sewer water down there. I ask if they were sending someone over to clean the mess up. Still NO response..!!

Leasing a hot water heater. It from “American home solutions” which is a Pivotal company. I wanted to just buy out of the contract after 4 years. When you get someone on the phone they seem to have no idea how the company works. Started this process in August. Well it’s 2020 and EVERYTHING has to go through the mail. No email correspondence. Really? Ok, fine. They said they will send out the paperwork which I have to sign and send back. I specifically ask that I will not be charged for the monthly billing as this is going through the mail. They assure me I won’t be responsible. Well after 3 months I finally go through the lengthy process to get the bill for the buyout. Yep....3 months of back due charges for the hot water heater. So I call. They can’t help me, I need to talk to leasing. Ok. Well there is no number for the leasing department “that’s not how it works”. Ok. How do I resolve this? “If I were you I would just pay the $60” is the response. Ah.....no. “I just left a message for leasing and they will call you back”. No they won’t. I have tried that several times too. Thank god I didn’t have a problem with the hot water heater yet because if they are this confused as to how their own company works......would highly suggest staying away from this company. They are clearly making it as hard as physically possible to get out of the agreement. So it’s just easier to be stuck with them forever. And do yourself a favor and do the math it’s a total rip off.......4 years later I owe $700 on a 6year hot water heater (which I am more than happy to pay to just be done with them)have already paid them $720 to date in rental charges.....If they don’t call me today I will be contacting the better business bureau and the attorney general of my state.....

I have had 3 claims so far with this warranty company. My issue was with my air conditioning unit. I was told soon as the representative walked up that its very dirty. Okay, but then he opens it and says that the compressor looks like its going bad that could be the reason why the unit is not cooling down to the desired Temp. I was given a quote of over 800.00 for labor if they had to install new one. I decides to call someone else out to see if they give me the same diagnostic. But outside company says oh there is nothing wrong with your compressor at all. I got it cleaned and replaced thermostat for 70.00. This is why I gave you all a 3. The other two claims were good in the past.

If I could give a negative star I would. They are nothing but scammers. I have been trying to cancel my relationship with them since October because I moved. I sent them a check to buy out a piece of equipment that I was renting. The next month I got a bill for the rental again. When I called I was told that they never received the check. I had to pay the rental. Mysteriously they “found “ the check after I had paid the rental again. I had another piece of equipment that I was renting. This time I used my credit card to buy it out because of the trouble with the check before. A few weeks later I got a bill again. I called and was told that my payment was denied. I checked with my credit card company and they said that they did NOT deny it. I called yesterday to figure this out. Their representative said that he was going to do some research and call me back. He never did. Today I contacted the Attorney General ‘s office in my state and filed a report. Tomorrow I am contacting the Better Business Bureau. These people are crooks. Stay away from them!

If I could give this company a negative 100 I would. I have been paying for warranties for this company for over 10 years. My main drain went out last month and I called for service. Spoke to Deborah first and she said plumbers dont work on weekends. She was very argumentative and negative. She let me talk with Sonny which she indicated she would be calling me back and didnt. We did not receive any assistance from this company and I had to call an outside company. I had made over 25 calls to this company for service. We were without plumbing for over a week. Now, I sit waiting on them to review my claim and pay me the money to pay the plumber. When I ask to speak to upper management, the reps on the phone wont let you.. This is horrible. Sad that you have to write a public review on here to get a response from this company.

My dad entered contract with this company once he passed they continued charging my mother with her unaware of this charge even on her bill according to Pivotal the contract is assigned to the acct number and so they charged my mothers bill without her consent just because the bill was switched to her name when my dad passed, I called to cancel and they said it takes 10 days and I have to call back to make sure the acct was terminated so basically call back to make sure they do their job all while grieving my mother, so beware they will continue to charge you even if you are not the person that signed up for their services .

This company doesn’t have its act together - most especially with how they inefficiently deal with their service contractors. In addition, I think pivotal has their service agreement dept in shambles. Often get different answers on same questions. Wouldn’t recommend them - they will probably be bought out or go under for poor management.

Unfortunately, I have to join the negative reviews.I had the premium heating protection and my boiler went out on a Friday morning. I called and got something set up. The service provider declined and the claim wasnt reassigned. I called after not hearing anything and they offered to reassign it right before the end of the day (meaning no one would come out that day). They apologized saying they didnt know why it wasnt reassigned. The fact that Id have to go the weekend with no heat was just my problem. When Monday came around, the new service provider didnt call either. I had to pay out of pocket to get someone to fix it. Pivotal apologized again and gave me a credit.I gave them another chance and, low and behold, the same decline but dont reassign happens. Its not until I call them (after the four hours) that they try to reassign it. Again, full of apologies, but I dont pay for apologies. I paid for a service and I was better off keeping my money to pay to someone who could actually do the job.

Ive been with Nicor home solutions for a long time now. Switched years ago from American Home shield. The no fee on home visits is perfect and reimbursement for replacement parts is excellent!

We called them because a furnace was not working, and explained to the person on the phone which furnace it was and they still sent out the wrong person and gave the wrong serial number. We got stuck paying $150 to an amazing contractor (not his fault) for something he couldn’t even fix because his company doesn’t fix the brand that wasn’t working. I would totally get give the contractor 5 starts he was great and so was his company but pivotal was not! They have screwed this up before! I hope we get our money back for the money we spent for nothing to get fixed. Now we have to call back and get it corrected.

Extremely disappointed with the customer service. I have been using them for several years and asked repeatedly to get paper mail copies of my warranty services which I did not get for over a year of requesting it. Their online service is not accomodating when requesting service. I called to cancel the warranty plan earlier this month and I was not pre-warned that I would get billed for another month which billing does not clearly define the period you are paying for so its not clear if they are taking advantage of you or not. We are dealing with shutdowns and people losing jobs and feeling forced to cut back on expenses, to see that I was not helped seeing that they could easily see I paid for their warranty service for over two years and rarely ever used and they were not sympathetic to my issue shows me that this is not a company I feel comfortable recommending or advising to use. I wish I would have seen the google reviews before signing up. I rarely ever leave negative reviews unless I find a company does not care for providing customer service.

They were unable to send a plumber from their net work so they told me to get my own plumber and they would reimburse me for it. It took a week to ten days for the payment. They kept their word. They were very easy to work with.

I had never heard from this company, no calls or emails. We moved houses and 2 months later receive a bill for a past due balance. We turned off all services at our home. I called to cancel and they still made me pay for a future month that I wouldnt be using because we were no longer living at that address. Do not use this company.

My dryer died. No heat and no timer. I called on Wednesday a Friday appointment was set. He arrived promptly at 10am, identified the problem and replaced the broken part. He was friendly and polite. He knew just what to look for and took about 10 minutes. Needless to say, I am very happy with the service.

Called this company on Friday (9/14), after getting their number from FL City Gas. My hot water heater is leaking, and the plumber wanted $1,100 to install a new one! :( I heard that this company rented them for a small monthly fee and that it would simply be added onto my gas bill. So I gave them a call. After being on hold for an hour, I finally got a representative, who did not seem very knowledgeable or confident (AT ALL) in the information she was providing. After asking me the same questions, 3 times throughout the conversation (my name, email, address, telephone # etc.,) and putting me on hold, twice (for over 8 minutes each time), she finally said that someone would call me ASAP to set up a day/time they could come out and install a new one. REPEATEDLY, I asked her if the installation would be done by a certified plumber, and (most importantly) if the water heater would be brought up to code (you know, for safety reasons)! She acted as if she had no idea what I was talking about!! I never could get a simple yes or no, as she seemed -much- more interested in reading me the lengthy terms and conditions.1 hour and 45 minutes later, I was finally off the phone. However, it is now Tuesday, of the following week. The water heater is STILL leaking and Ive yet to receive a phone call from whomever theyre sending out to install a new one. Needless to say, Im over it! Very unprofessional and it is clear that their customer service reps are in desperate need of better training! Not a happy customer.

I basically threw money away with this company. I purchased the Maintenance Cooling Plan from Pivotal and Ive tried to obtain service from them 3 times. All 3 times the only AC contractor (Fusion A.C.) in the Pivotal Home Solutions Network servicing the South Florida area (which is awful, and unprofessional) never kept their appointments. On all 3 occasions I waited the whole day without a receiving any type of courtesy call from the contractor (Fusion A.C.). Pivotal customer service couldnt even reach the contractor. I complained numerous times about Fusion and Pivotal customer service couldnt provide any real solutions. Pivotal at one time did offer to reimburse me if i use an outside contractor out of their network but with no guarantee that i would be reimbursed. I didnt want to take that chance of losing more money. Bottom Line how can you be a serious Warranty plan with just one contractor in all of South Florida. What a scam and waste of money.

While trying to save a few dollars, we chose to go with another company. Of course, our A/C went out and we contacted the other company. On-line is how you file a claim, in 24 hrs. you get a reply, in an email, that within 24 hrs. you will receive a phone call. We get the phone call; We are not home and the representative asks for the model and serial numbers. Explaining we were not at home so we could not get that info. The rep says, Well, I need to have that information, why dont you know that? We explained that information was given to them in the first email retrieve it from there. He told us they would be in touch in 24 hrs.We contacted PHS explained we had been gone almost 60 days and asked what they could help with. They pointed us to a company, we had used before, we set up the appointment, they checked it out and decided we needed a new fan, which they replaced the next day.Meanwhile, back to the other company; the company called us back, in 26.5 hours, to say they had contacted a repair company. In 4 hours the repair company called to say they were calling to set up a service call in 3 hours and since it was after hours, we would be charged the after hours cost. Four days, so many 24 hrs. later to be told we were going to be charged the premium price. Telling them we had gotten another company to do the repair, he said they were the only company the other home warranty service would pay for. Trying to not explode, we just asked him to not call us again.The A/C is fixed, we have quit the other Home Warranty Company and we are now back with our trusted associates at Pivotal Home Solutions.

This company works with your gas supplier to add charges to your gas bill. It starts out at $30 to $40 a month. Then it gets higher and higher until you notice. The thing is Vectren helps them sign you up without consent. I talked to Vectren and they confirmed that all they need is an address or account. Then Pivotal Home sends a monthly contract to Vectren then boom signed up.

So far outside sewer service as well as multiple other services for my rentals have worked out. Peace of mind for the landlords. As a landlord you need to have a backup plan in place always. In the last instance, on Sunday no technician was available so they asked me to bring my own for up to $400 reimbursement.

If zero or negative stars was a possibility, I would rate them there. This company will just take your money for no service. I had a surge event at my house and it took out my TV and PS4. They told me to replace these items and send in the receipts/claim forms, then they would reimburse. I sent in all the information to process the claim, and they critiqued the documents for months on end. I had to ask multiple times on the status of reimbursement, meanwhile i am out of pocket for the new replaced items. I responded with whatever they needed when they did respond and they ultimately decided to deny my claim for not being processed within their designated time frame. Imagine that. It must be their tactic to avoid responsibility. Ive never heard or seen anything like it. Ive asked for a policy refund as no service was given and they have denied it.

Charges have been ending up on my bill since I moved into my new residence. The first 3 months it was a constant hassle. I finally left the surge protection for 4.95 a month on my account but chose to cancel last month. Now this month my bill has a 14.85 charge. Total scam artist. No one ever seems to correct the issue or remove the charges

I have been paying Pivotal for approx 2 years.The one time I critically needed them, they did not come through and consequently, I at 87 years and my tenant were without heat overnight with the temps at 15degrees. I will say that the folks on the phone were great however great folks on the phone did not translate into effectiveness. I understand plumbers are crazy busy with current weather conditions however when I am paying approx 1,000.00/yr each for coverage on 2 buildings, emergencies are the time that such coverage must be present and responded to - called at 6pm, got claim number, spoke with plumbers, no response at home, called again at 9ish, then at 11pm, was essentially told no one is coming!!!!We are cancelling and requesting reimbursement for the alternative plumber services called and all payments made for 2018.

Wow, been reading some of the other reviews here. I dont understand the low ratings, Ive been a customer for years now and Ive never had a problem with Pivotal. Technicians have always been professional, on time, and thorough.
