Volkswagen shouldnt be sold in the US. The customer service is awful and the warranty means nothing. I traveled to Michigan for a quick vacation. The car broke down hours away from my destination. Get a towing truck through road assistance was almost impossible. My car was sent to a dealership 2 hours away from where I was staying. 12 hours later I received a call to let me know they got my car and they were going to inspect it in 1 week, I was staying there for only 2 days. After spending 7 hours on the phone, I decided to take a taxi to get a rental car (the closest rental was 1 hour and a half away). Volkswagen couldnt provide me a loaner/rental. I had to paid for everything. Everybody I talked to over the phone told me to contact the trip interruption department. After spending 200 dollars in a taxi, I get a call that the car was ready. According to them, the car was not fixed correctly at the dealership in Chicago (Volkswagen Irving Park Chicago). Took another taxi the other way, another $200. Once I got there, the Muskegan Volkswagen rep told me the following: We reconnected a hose that they forgot to connect when they replace the crankshaft sensor in Chicago... Please note the car has only 25K miles and broke a few weeks before this. They charged me because a different Volkswagen made a mistake but trip interruption was going to take care of this. Long story short, I made it back to Chicago, mailed all the receipts as they told me to do and today I got a call to let me know the case was declined. This is not money related, I dont care about the money but I can tell that Volkswagen customer service is awful... In Muskegan, in Chicago... Everywhere... even the customer CARE. I dont understand how they do business with this poor customer care. Definitely, not buying a Volkswagen again. On top of that I bought the extended warranty!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM VW CHICAGO IRVING PARK... STAY AWAY FROM VW MUSKEGAN... STAY AWAY FROM VOLKSWAGEN...

Straightforward and not too pushy. Even thought I didn’t like the vehicle we looked at, they were calm, professional, and... dare I say, funny. Lots of vintage be vehicles inside the showroom, worth a look!

I came in from out of town on a holiday weekend with my kids and my check engine came on. I called the dealership in Holland and they could not take me. I called here and left a message, not thinking they would call me back. Not only did they call me back but made an appointment for the next day. They asked me a few safety questions, which I appreciated. I came in the next day and they checked out my car found what it was and wrote up the repair order for me to take back to my local car dealership. (They would have had to order parts and we were leaving the next day). Mickala was great and so nice!

Had a hard time getting ahold of the service desk a couple of times but the manager reached out and made things right. Overall good experience when having work done to my car.

Update 1/25/19: I’m sorry, but how is it customer service to ask the customer to be the one that reaches back out? The dealership has my contact information. According to Customer CARE: “a complaint was filed with the dealership which we escalated your case to one of our Region case managers who then reached out to the dealership to discuss.” That was on 12/5. Also, in an email from the dealership: “I did hear back from my manager regarding the survey. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do on our end.” So clearly the dealership really wants me to reach out, right? I find that hard to believe. Those were two separate times that apparently had been brought to the dealers attention. You have my contact information, if you really want to help, someone would reach out to me.Please read the attached screenshots. We have a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas SEL with trailer hitch and black rims. Positive. Everything else. Completely negative. We will never recommend Volkswagen of Muskegon to any friends or relatives after this experience, and find it hard to ever by a Volkswagen again. We feel bad for writing this negative review, but after almost 3 months of feeling dissatisfied, we felt that it needed to be shared.
