I brought my 02 C-Class Mercedes into California Auto center yesterday for my first visit, my AC needed charging.I immediately felt welcomed upon checking in with the folks in the lobby, everyone was so friendly.They immediately checked me in and assessed the issue and went over the price prior to getting started, I agreed to have them get started and told them I would wait.The car was done in an hour and a half and I literally paid 1/2 of what I was quoted by two other local mechanics.As a single woman going to auto mechanic, it always feels like I am having to filter out the crooks, this is the first time in many years that I felt like my car was in the hands of honest people.I will be recommending to all my friends and family.

Everyone at California Auto Centers was honest, attentive, caring and considerate. My dads car was towed there August 6 and they performed extensive testing to determine the problem. The vehicle required over $10,000 in repairs. Employee, Michael, honestly told my dad that he shouldnt spend more than the car was worth. The owner also allowed us to keep the car there for a week until we made arrangements to have it towed away. Awesome, trustworthy people! Awesome auto repair shop! I give them 5 stars!!!!!

My fuel pump was not having it and my car just stopped on me on my way to work. This place got a diagnostic, replaced the part and I got an oil change because I knew I needed one so why not. I got my car back the next day. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Shout out to Connie who helped me thru the process. I would definitely come here again.

After an initial communication problem with one employee at California Auto Care the owner Joe reached out to me to explain the full status of my vehicle. Joe takes pride in his shop and took several minutes out of his busy time to explain the work being done on my van. Joe was able to craft a new part for my disability van that should work better than the original. Thanks to Joe one disabled person can now be transported again.

Felt very much at home it was very professional they took care of me and had my car back in a reasonable time and the work was done right very happy with them

Charged $400 for a simple starter motor replacement that should have cost $200. Average cost for a starter motor for my vehicle, $125. Average amount of time to replace, 15- 30 minutes. 3 bolts to take off and put back on, done. Starter motor is in very accessible location. Easy repair. No excuse. Also discovered later on that they did not tighten my lug nuts. All were loose and one had completed fallen off. Should have done the repair myself. Lesson learned.

Honestly the best auto place around here. The gentlemen that take care of calls and such are always so nice and helpful. I highly recommend. Their prices are set reasonably as well.

This was by far the most honest auto repair facility I have ever dealt with, the show and tell with Joe was very informative and straight forward. I brought our Ford Escape in to have the air conditioner checked after being told by Pearson Ford that the entire unit would need replaced. After my car was checked, California Auto Center was able to recharge it and the total cost, was $102! The air conditioner now works wonderfully! And, they did all of this in less than 1.5 hours.

Joe Beck is the owner and takes personal pride in making sure the customer gets value for the service they pay for. This is our sixth service on two vehicles and I would not consider another automotive repair facility. A couple of poor new car dealer experiences had me looking for a professional company with trained technicians. I found Cal Auto through AAA. Honest, professional and friendly. Fair prices for quality work. I overheard Todd tell a customer: We will do what you want but your car doesnt need anything, dont waste your money. Only honest people tell you not to spend your money.

As always, Joe and his team excels in professionalism and honesty. They never overcharge or try to upsell any unnecessary repairs. They were able to work on my BMW i3 and perform the 50K mile maintenance scheduled for it within reasonable time and cost.Note: I have been taking my cars to Joe for over 18 years and now drive 60 miles out of my way to continue bringing my cars there. I cant say enough good things about how we have been treated at California Auto Centers. We recently moved to the area and needed to find a shop we could trust. After some on line searching tried them out. We had four cars that each needed some things. The first test was my sons beater. There was certainly the opportunity to nickle and dime us here. But Todd understood that we didnt want to spend a fortune on the car and we were able to fix the small stuff needed and get it smogged. Since then each of our cars have been in and in every case either Todd, Erin or Joe has been extremely responsive, helpful and fair. They gave me the tip of the year that I could get my CA registration done at AAA. In every case the work has been done, done well and at a fair price. They also gave me some good referrals for tires and exhaust work. I recommend these guys without reservation.

Was towed here using my AAA membership and left the car for the weekend to be repaired. The staff here is very professional, kind, and know what theyre doing. I had initially only needed a repair on a part of my transmission system, however during a complementary vehicle valuation, the mechanic found a pretty serious safety issue with my steering system. I authorized the repairs on Monday and the vehicle was ready for pickup by Tuesday evening. They even offer a night pick-up if you need to pick up your car after hours. I couldnt recommend this place more. Just wish it was closer to my house :(

We got stuck with a broken belt. My husband was going to fix it, but is getting up in years. AAA recommended them, so towed there. They did find a couple of other issues, but my husband easily saw the problem and told them to fix it. He says now the car drives so much better again!! This place is absolutely the best.I dont always take the time to write a review about a business, but this is one of those times where I just have to share my experience with others.The shop here is super clean, organized and professional. The staff are all very friendly, personal and professional as well. As I sat in the waiting area I saw one of the staff members interacting with a young child that was with her mom and the child was loving it. This place is very family/kid oriented. The bathrooms are super clean, they have coffee and water available while you wait.Those are just all of the amenities. The real professionalism comes in when they do work on your vehicle. I have an old vehicle (1973 Jeep Wagoneer) and I have had trouble finding a shop that would even work on it, many shops would just tell me that they flat out do not work on vehicles that old.The owner Joe fixed several issues on my vehicle including a cracked transfer case in which he actually fabricated a custom bracket, gave my jeep a huge upgrade and saved me thousands in repairs. I can honestly say my jeep is in better shape now than when I took it in.If you are looking for an honest shop that will not take advantage of you, this is the place!

Rude staff...was told we needed to pay $180 for a check engine light that was on and was told that $180 would not apply towards any additional work done and then I was looked at as if I was stupid and told that I dont understand how difficult it is to figure out why the check engine light is on. I am very familiar with how that works its plugged into a computer and two minutes later youre told whats wrong. The parking lot is awful and the location is difficult to find period I would not recommend going here.

Great people honest upfront prices

I havent been to Calif Auto for almost a year for service since I sold my 03 Toyo Taco and purchased a 2017 RAM 2500-C. I was concerned with work being done outside the dealership since I have an extended warranty, but spoke with Erin and Eric and they assured me that if I wanted Mopar parts and Rotella T4 oil that all work would be done to specs. Recently had fuel filter and oil done, and the crew performed an OUTSTANDING JOB again. Calif Auto and Joes crew never let me down for service!!! I also love the personability with the staff. The staff is always willing and patient in talking to me about any concerns I have with my vehicle. They get seriously busy from time time, but Calif Auto has always treated my wife and I like VIP members. Keep up the great work Joe, and everyone at Calif Auto.

Although my initial experience wasnt the best, I would definitely return here because the owner, Mr. Becht, sincerely values customer service. He listened to my concerns and did everything he could to make things right, which can be rare these days.

They were able to fix my axle seal and the knocking in my steering. Not sure how they did that but Im not complaining. Highly recommended

Just came in for a smog. Middle of the day. Very fast - under 30 mins. Very cheap - $39 for everything.Amazing service. While waiting I heard responses to a couple of incoming calls. Call #1) Real patience. Very respectful, knowledgeable explanations about what’s going on. Not a hint of dismissive fast-talk. Call #2) Scrambling over a customer’s deadline - someone whose car was just brought in needing a part which hadn’t yet arrived but had to leave town by the next day. The team gathered to find a way to hustle for this person. Wow.Big, empty lounge (no one waiting.) Several chairs and a leather sofa. Impeccably clean. WIFI. Flat screen with movies to choose from. Gorgeous aquarium. Two well-stocked magazine racks. This place looked better than most doctors’ offices. Christian books on the side tables (why am I not surprised?)I’ve never encountered an auto repair center delivering this much care to their customers. Thinking about recommending them to my boyfriend who’s been driving two cities away to get to a place he trusts.

This review is a rewrite (my original was very critical and had only 1 star).I originally went to California Auto Center to have the transmission pan seal replaced. They replaced it, and everything is good on that front.They also pointed out that my water pump was leaking, (I was already aware), it is a slow leak so I declined to have it repaired (money was/is tight for me)They replaced my belts as well, at my request.Why am I a Fan?Because I had an issue with the belts after they replaced them (I didnt think they had replaced the A/C belt, turns out I was wrong, and that another problem I had, caused some abnormal wear). Well, Joe (the owner) has a 100% satisfaction notice on his wall, and he made good on it.It is hard to find a place that you can trust, especially car repair places. And when that unfortunate repair needs to be done, you either know someone, or just have to take a chance and pick one.Well I took a chance, and while it seemed like a let down, it turned out very well.If you need a repair, and are in Murrieta/Temecula area, give joe a shot.I appreciated his candor and help very much. We even discussed some other issues that I brought up (not him) about my truck. I appreciated his advice and insight.

The lady at the front counter was rude, acted as if im was bothering her when i approached her. I went in for a smog test and they fail me because of some BS about my AIR FILTER. I went to another smog station and i pass with no issue. Sadly, it seems they are a place that will try and rip you off for more money.

This is my third time coming to this place. I have no issues with the car care or customer service. Erin, Joe the owner and the mechanics are outstanding people. My vehicles have never had any issues after being repaired.Yesterday, my 1999 Nissan Pathfinder was driving weird-jerky and sluggish at acceleration. I thought it would be better after i got an oil change but it got worse. I was able to make it to California Auto Center. Erin took me in despite it being busy. I described to her mu vehicles and that i would be waiting for the vehicle. She got me in with no issue. I was a little astonished at the cost of a simple tune up and the cost of the labor for removing and replacing a gasket cover. All in all I paid $917 with my AAA discount.Once I left the shop, I sent a copy of my invoicr to my brother who works at a dealer in West L.A.and has access to cost of parts, labor and diagnostic assessments on all kinds of cars. He basically told me I should have paid $30 for the gasket cover instead of $81.25, $200-300 for the labor to remove/replace the gasket cover instead of $377, and I should have paid $75 instead of $132 for the diagnostic.I dont think this auto shop would intentionally overcharge for their parts and labor. I understand they have to make some type of profit. It just sucks when your family and friends tell you, you got ripped off and shouldnt return.

Honest and the repair prices are fair. Only place I take my car to now.

Im blown away by the service. They want customers to come back instead of taking them for what they are worth. Im a do-it-yourself-er, but I ocassionally come across things I cant do, or figure out. They definitley fixed my issue today, and it was a lot faster, and a lot CHEAPER than me doing it myself. Ive never received the caliber of help that I did from Scott today. I strongly recommend this shop to ANYONE who has an issue with their car. You guys have my business for life. Thank you.
