This is only the second time I have been here. First time my battery needed to be replaced. No appointment, just stopped by mid afternoon. They squeezed me in which really helped me. Everyone was friendly and made me feel like I could trust them. Second time my brakes had gone to metal to metal and I thought I needed new brakes and rotors front and rear. After inspection they told me the front brakes were still good, so they just replaced the rear which saved me a lot.These guys are great, Ill be back! Recommend you try them, too.

Went to Jefferson auto shop with electrical, along with engine problems and they were able to pinpoint the problem right away. Gave me a fair price, along with updates on the progress.. My car was fixed that week and I was back on the road. Would highly recommend this shop and definitely go back there when other repairs are needed..

One of the last reliable auto-shops here in Southern California. After taking company vehicles to Jefferson Auto for multiple repairs, I decided to also take my wifes personal vehicle in for a transmission problem. They fixed it immediately, and my wife hasnt noticed a problem since. The staff at Jefferson Auto is an incredible (and reliable) group to work with, and I am always happy to bring my vehicles to their shop (as I know theyll fix it right, and they wont rip me off). The folks at Jefferson are the most helpful people Ive ever gone to. Every time I have a problem with my car, the manager takes the time to explain what and why, my car needs this or that. I dont have a clue what makes things work, but I can always count on Jim (the manager) to clue me in and take the confusion out of it. All of the staff are always polite and helpful. Andrew is Soo knowledgeable when it comes to auto repair. On top of that hes honest and will never try and do something that shouldnt be done to an automobile. This is something I really appreciate because I know NOTHING about cars. Its nice to know that this place has integrity and doesnt take advantage of something I dont know about. Ill always come here for auto repair and I recommend anybody whos looking for an affordable place that does AMAZING work.

Worst experience. Went for an oil change and when time for pick up they could not find my keys. They left it inside the car with ignition on which killed my battery. All they did was jump started and i went on with my day. Unknowingly i was overloading my Alternator and now i have to get a new Alternator and Battery. I went back to offer them to make it right. All they where willing to offer is $100 after jacking the price up for a new alternator up to $430s. I called other shop and cost me $322. Something i should of not have spent in the first place. Out of pocket for their negligence came to over $450.00. In my opinion they are the worst.

I had to get a catalytic converter replaced on my minivan in order to have the engine light off for the smog check. This shop put in the wrong converter, as I found out when I went to a different smog check shop in Vista and failed the check. Luckily this other shop called Jefferson Auto and let them know they put in the wrong converter. So I went back to Murrieta to have it replaced at no charge (which is why Im giving 2 stars instead of 1). My rating reflects what I see as an attempt to take advantage of someone who had just moved to the area and doesnt know much about auto repair. They figured theyd never see me again. The Vista shop said Jefferson Auto could get in trouble for doing this... putting in the wrong kind because it costs them less. Had I let Jefferson Auto do the smog check, they would have passed me, only to let me find out upon the next check in the future that I had the wrong converter and would have needed to replace it again. My guess is it would be safer to go to a shop thats not so close to the DMV where people come and go and are easy targets.

I love this shop! The staff here are very friendly and they are knowledgeable in all types of cars not just newer ones. I have some classics and they were able to do things like carb rebuilding and other services that are related to cars with no computers. Most shops wont even touch cars without being able to diagnose issues with a computer. They did such a good job on my land cruiser I went and bought them all jersey mikes for lunch one day. I will only bring my cars to this place.

A member of their team stopped to ensure a woman and child were allright. After checking a few things I took his card can his honesty won a new customer. They gave me the number for a phenomenal tow person and Im awaiting their review of my car.

I went in yesterday for a smog check. They were very courteous, a biggie with me, so good on that. I was in and out, with DMV notified of my successful smog check, in about 15 minutes! FIVE STARS for Jefferson Auto Repair!

Been coming here for 7 - 8 years for my oil changes when I didnt have the time to do them myself. All of the sudden today they arent good enough to change my oil with my own OEM fluids and filter. Been bringing my Audi and my MS3 there for years and always brought my own stuff. Now they need to check for labor and just kept helping other people while I stood around like an idiot. I used to look past the occasional overtightening of the oil filter and the missing undercarriage plastics screw, but after today and being told to go change my own oil I can safely say to just stay away. Stick to your smog checks. You guys looked like a bunch of unorganized ants running around. Get someone that knows how to use a computer in a timely fashion in there. There were two other people in there. Not even busy. No excuse to turn down $1+ per minute for a quick oil change.

Smog check highly recommended fast and inexpensive.

I brought an $11 oil change coupon and already knew my vehicle needs 5 quarts. A female employee with black hair in a ponytail asked questions and after tapping on the computer for at least 10 minutes told me my vehicle needs 9 quarts and the cost would be $55. I mentioned the coupon loud enough for the other two patrons to hear and took off.
