One thing you can always count on at CalMoto is great customer service, whether buying a bike, buying parts and accessories, or having your bike serviced. Test rides of bikes are easy to schedule, day-loaners are usually available while your bike is being worked on, and everyone does their level best to make sure you feel welcome and that they want to do business with you. As much as they’re happy to sell you what they have in stock, they’ll never lower themselves to trash talking other brands or dealers, and I really respect that.
Purchased my G310R here. When I am ready to upgrade I will definitely be a repeat customer. Service was good too. They have loaner bikes too, but I would not count on it. They may not have enough loaners for the day. Take a rideshare or something. There are only a few BMW dealers in the Bay Area and this is the one I recommend.
Very nice experience here. Shay and his team in the service department are honest. Service performed was excellent. I did not have enough bandwidth this time around to do the service myself but the service department took care of my bike like I would have taken care of it.My first experience with them was when I wanted to get the 1000rr lowered for my height. Shay was honest enough to direct me to Catalyst reaction. I came back again and I was not disappointed.
I went here unplanned and just wanted to see if they had a R nine t for test ride. These guys are the warmest and most welcoming sales guys I have met. They were talking on what are good and bad aspects of a bike. There are things like usage, dependability, type of rise you like not just looks that help you make a decision buying a bike. I will highly recommend this place if you are really interested in buying a motor bike.
I recently experienced an unexpected issue with the battery in my 2015 R1200RT which almost left me stranded! I contacted Ian Clements, the Service Manager at CalMoto Mountain View BMW and he got my bike in for a proper diagnosis of the problem and resolution. The value of a good BMW dealer is priceless when backed up by an excellent service department like the one managed by Ian and his assistant, Jeff.
By far the Best Purchasing Experience i have ever had! The staff make you feel as if your part of the family and appreciated. The owner came out and thanked me for my purchase didnt like the straps I was using and gave me his personal canyon dancer strap at NO CHARGE to ensure my new bike wasnt damaged! I cant say enough about this place and I love my Bike
Fast friendly service. I called in on a busy Saturday afternoon about a bike I was interested in. Reed, the salesman was very helpful and explained to me what I needed to do to send in a financing application since I live 4 hours away and driving down twice was not an option. A few hours later Reed called back snd said I was all approved for the bike. I told them I would be down Tuesday to pick it up. Easiest purchase Ive ever made. They even helped me load it up in the back of my truck.
Great staff and selection of bikes, nice apparel store too. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating.
I bought a bike from Reed and he was the absolute best. I went to several other dealerships before i came to this one and had the best service. Reed was super helpful and got us in and out super fast.
Purchased a $32k loaded BMW GSR Exclusive, brought it in for its first complimentary service + a tire mounting... and I was pressured to sign a $825 estimate, of which I gracefully refused - I continued to stand my ground until estimate was accurate to only cover tire mounting ~375. The worst part of this is during this bad experience the service manager and I walked into the parts department to consult with the parts manager wrt to tires options and he, not knowing I was standing there, replied with the most derogatory remarks; the embarrassed manager had to awkwardly tell him I was standing there. Now on top of all of this, buying this bike was a total disaster, too. I gave the sticker price, asked for a frictionless experience, and ended up walking in to finalize the sale and the finance manager was screaming at the sales person. The stress continued to a place where I just wanted it to be over as fast as humanly possible -- Sorry yall but I cannot bring my business, or recommend calmoto to anyone after my experiences.
Good selections of BMW BIKES,some Triumph and an An electric Motorcycle.Arlie the sales Manager was nice, not pushy . He spent our time answering questions and showing me the craftsmanship of European Bikes.I found the one I like. (See photo)
Reed is THE BEST. Highly recommend CalMoto and Reed if given the chance. Reed is the most responsive, helpful person and completely understood what I was looking for. From the second I called to ask about my now scooter, Sofia, he was all over it. Reed always picked up his phone, text if I had questions, and made sure I got the scooter of my dreams :) Thanks, Reed!!
Enthusiastic folks here. They do a free monthly group ride led by the owner or sales manager. Good place to buy bmws here
Jaxon was really awesome and help us to get the bike my husband wanted as easily and fast as possible
Not impressed! Drove 3 hours with trailer and intent to buy and Tad knowing I was coming, and he sold it 20 mins before I got there! Someone should teach that kid ethics!
Really great customer service. Came in with a broken break lever and they sold me the part and fixed it at no extra charge - I was in and out in about 10 minutes. Knowledgeable, friendly staff and good service.
I live in the central valley. I refuse to do business with any motorcycle shop here in the central valley. CALMOTO is where i get my Triumph parts from. They have given me great prices on items i have needed. And they have no problem shipping the parts to me. i will continue to use CALMOTO for parts i need. A BIG THANK YOU to Ryan in parts dept. He has been helpful in finding my parts. Even if overseas ordering is done.👍
Stopped by to have the oil on my R1200 RS topped off and was helped by the service folks right away - great and genuine bike enthusiasts who run a great and come shop! Definitely recommend.
Poor diagnostic, they charge a lot more than any other service centers and the worst part it my issue didnt resolve. When I told them that my issue isnt fixed I got very vague explanation for not been able to solve the issue.
Brought there my Vespa 150 for service, and they are all very competent and friendly.
Pretty sure a real man cannot own too many motorcycles. I could live here!
My experience? Lousy. Their shipping and handling charges might as well be extortion; $12 to ship an $8 part that weighs 1 oz? How is that legal? The online catalog lacks pictures of smaller items, so if you order the wrong part, they will cheerfully explain that you can get store credit for the returned item, minus a 20% restocking fee. So $20 turns into $6.40 towards the part you really need. No thanks. Consider yourself warned.
You dont walk into a dealership. You walk into a family. Arlie, Mike, Ken, everyones great and Ive gone on a few shop rides with them and enjoyed it a lot.
Good dealership with solid amount of bikes, only complaint is that all Bike seem to be very new so there are no cheep bike to pick up. However the staff is very friendly and super helpful.
The best motorcycle dealership I have ever visited.
Excellent departments across the board, if you are looking for parts, want parts installed. If you want to buy a motorcycle, I definitely recommend their easy to work with sales team, especially Arlle Ray
Liars, Cheats, and ThievesHad an yellow engine light come on on my Triumph Rocket.. Proactively, I rode it over to CalMoto and dropped it off for repair. days later, I get a call thats its all fixed, and got some BS story about all the work they did to fix it. Drove it home w/o issue. The VERY NEXT MORNING, engine light comes on red and wont clear/bike wont start. Had to get it towed back to them. Now their story changes to: they didnt do any work, couldnt be responsible for it, and the $300 charge from the previous day was just a visual inspection So, they charged me $300 to break my bike, lied about it, wouldnt stand behind their work, and are all just scumbags. Ended up getting a trailer and taking my bike elsewhere. Note: This was a couple years ago, but I hadnt submitted a google review until I was recently prompted to.
Good shop, but expensive. Of course, its a BMW shop, so thats to be expected. They do good work and have a limited number of loaner bikes available, so you can drop off your bike and be on your way. Havent purchased a bike from them, but have shopped here. What knocks off a star is an experience in parts a few years ago, where Id asked for a price on a part which the parts guy then ordered and wanted to charge a restocking fee when didnt take it. I hadnt asked him to order it - only give me a price. Turned out OK, and things have changed. But its something you remember.
If a zero-star rating was an option, I wouldve chosen it. CalMoto has done the worst customer service and repair job Ive ever heard of that has actually become a potentially fatal safety issue.I took my motorcycle to them to have them fix a charging issue which caused the bike to stall while I was riding it. Ian, the manager of the service department, confirmed that the problem was the stator when I took it to them in late January and told me that theyd replace it by the end of February. They called me in early February to let me know that the ETA was still the end of February.I never heard from them again until I called them on March 6th, a week after their given completion date, at which point they told me, Oh, the part hasnt come in yet. So they just didnt bother to let me know. Needless to say, I was very displeased. I told Jeff in the service department when we talked on the phone that I couldnt believe it and was extremely disappointed, but that the silver lining was that they were nice people. A week later, they told me the bike was done and that I could come by and pick it up that Saturday.I went in that Saturday and the first thing I did was apologize to Jeff in the service department for getting frustrated while I spoke with him on the phone. Immediately after that, they told me they couldnt find my seat. While I was waiting, another customer came in and told Jeff in the service department that after having his new motorcycle serviced there, there was a bolt missing from one fork, and another was loose on the other. After having me wait around in the shop for an hour, Jeff told me I could ride the motorcycle home without a seat, or leave the bike there and wait for the seat to arrive. Needless to say, I didnt ride it home without a seat.I asked for the owner, Mike Meissners, contact information and talked to him over the phone. I told him this story and that I was blown away by their incompetence. He told me, I dont think its fair of you to judge our workmanship. I thought, well as far as workmanship, I guess thats fair, as I hadnt yet inspected or ridden the bike since theyd worked on it. The incompetence lied in their professionalism and communication skills. Then I took it for a ride.It had the exact same problem and stalled while I was riding it on Skyline Boulevard (a very curvy, high-speed mountain road) while my girlfriend was on the back. In that environment, such shoddy work is potentially fatal, considering the type of roads, heavily-wooded environment, and high volume of traffic (not to mention the high speed that riders and drivers tend to travel at) in the area. Their work caused a failure that on such curvy roads could easily have caused an accident and as I previously mentioned, the conditions in the area could very easily result in a fatality. Thankfully the stall happened while I was at a temporary stop light, so the bike was stationary when it died. Its one thing to inconvenience me, but its a completely different, negligible, and inexcusable thing to do such bad work that it endangers the people I care about. To put it concisely, I paid CalMoto to do a job that they either didnt do, or didnt diagnose correctly and their negligence could have cost my girlfriend and me our lives. To take a motorcycle to CalMotos service department is to gamble with your safety. The smartest and safest thing you can do is to take your motorcycle to another shop.Update: The bike was finally fixed correctly, but they neglected to replace the retaining bolt that secures the back of the gas tank to the frame, which Id temporarily replaced with a bolt from Orchard Supply. This was one of the first things I asked them to fix. They also put the fairing back together incorrectly, with one of the tabs that secures the pieces together on *top* of the other layer, instead of behind it. This caused a 2.5 inch crack in that part of the fairing, which Ill now have to replace at great expense.Updated consensus: CalMoto does a really bad job and breaks things.
Good, friendly staff. 5 star possibly without the 300 buck Dealer Prep Fee
Awesome BMW motorcycles, Triumph motorcycles and Vespa scooter dealership. Great sales guys and Im very happy with the maintenance services too
Great group of guys there service dept. is A+
Great service. Honest owner.
I bought a Triumph Tiger 800 from CalMoto last month, and I have had a series of bad experiences in a short period of time... First I almost wiped from the bike stalling when downshifting .. this was due to the incorrect tuning having been loaded prior to the bike being given to me (new bike). Then within days, Triumph release a promo on 2016 Tigers, of significant $ value ... the dealer advises they cant do anything at all for me who bought it full price 10 days before the promo. Then I get charged full whack for my first service ... my buddy bought the new bonnie earlier this year and he paid $0 for his service. Then a $1000 accessory which I have paid in full last month isnt fitted at the time of my service, and when I query whats going on am told at that point that its not at the store, actually not in the country but is on back order ... the part is paid in full (including install). At this point I am fuming, as you can imagine. The owners gesture was to refund the service.I cannot recommend this dealership ... Ive had a pretty atrocious series of experiences within the space of 10 days.Bummer ... the bike itself is great (with correct tuning, that is).
The service department completes the job on time and done right providing for a pleasant experience !
Excellent service staff and a great delearship!!
Went here a year ago for the triumph. Only place that would let me test ride one. They dont sell triumph anymore, but I still come here for my OEM parts and servicing.
Came in person and spoke with the older gentleman in service he quoted me rear brake inop. and rear tire replacement- $55 + $67=$122. Picked up the bike from JT and it cost me $224, almost double the price I was quoted. Not cool. Ill be going to BMW San Francisco next time.Update: brake problem returned after less than 300 miles.Update Jan 2014: Service department does not communicate. My motorcycle has been there for 16 days now and not a single update. JT told me they would start work on my bike right away and get back to me- that was three weeks ago. I try calling today, Saturday, and no one answers the phone in service and the voicemail is inoperative so I cannot leave a message. How am I supposed to know whats going on with my bike? This is the second time the service department has kept my bike for weeks without communication - the only reason I brought the bike back was because they failed to fix the problem from last time.
I have been using cal moto for my parts for my Triumph THUNDERBIRD. Ryan in parts is the man I call on at cal moto.he has taken the time to make sure I get the right parts sent to me here in the central valley. Even if they need to be a overseas order. So if your looking for great customer service call cal Moto even if you live outside moutain view. CUSTOMER FOR LIFE. 👍
Went in to ask a few questions about the r 1200 gs, talked to Arlie for almost an hour. He is very knowledgable and friendly, and answered all my questions.
