This is a nice Turkish food. Although on an expensive side, the food was excellent. We had a mezze, patlican dolma and grilled white sea bass. The sea bass was fresh and cooked perfectly. If you love eggplants and roasted been peppers, you wont be wrong with patlican dolma. We finally ended with baklava.
Yummy food! We shared the mezze appetizer and another dish that I cant remember the name of (stuffed eggplant and stuffed pepper) and both were terrific. Just the right amount of garlic. The waiter needed to project his voice through his mask so we could hear him but no real problems!
Good service here with a robust and enthusiastic manager and attentive waitstaff that never lets a water glass empty. Cocktail menu is very enticing and clever. On a hot day you will have to ask for extra ice. Manti pasta is yummy, stuffed eggplant with ground beef and Greek spices is on the spicy side. Pita bread arrives simply in a straw basket without lining. The essentials is on the cooking, and theres a dish that meets everyones palate. This restaurant always has someone outside eating.
What a great dining experience overall! Really enjoyed the ambience, service and the food quality. Strongly recommend the Beyti Kebab (pieces of grilled lamb kebab wrapped in a thin bread with sauce and veggies) with rice. The rice was mildly flavoured. Just wish the portion size was a bit larger. Also recommend the lamb pide - Turkish style pizza with mince lamb and cheese. A really fantastic combo! Served with salad on the side.I really appreciated that they served complimentary fresh pita with a nice cheesy oil sauce.I understand the place is halal. Would love to try the other items.
Solid Mediterranean (Greek) offerings. We had the lamb kebob & vegetarian kebab plates. Everything was tasty except the lamb was slightly overdone. I liked the place enough to consider bringing a party of 20 for a Holiday Dinner but, in the event, wasnt confident of their execution with a large party, if the lamb was overdone when the lunch crowd was small. Sat outside. Great ambience & service. They accommodated our 2 (small) dogs just fine, outdoors. My friend says she loves this place and comes often, so be your own judge.
Omg they must name the Baklava on their menu as Death by Baklava. Coz when I took a bite, I felt like I died and went to heaven. The pastry, oh so flakey, oozing with clarified butter and pistachios. It was a unique food experience. I could obsess over the taste endlessly. Also tried the falafel which was tasty but slightly dry, dolma (very delicious), and hummus which was pretty underwhelming in flavor. Special mention to the complimentary pita bread which is probably the best pita bread Ive ever eaten. So good.If youre in the Bay Area, definitely visit Cafe Baklava and order the Baklava!!!
Had to visit, cuz I was far from my regular place to buy stuff takeout. Tought it deserve but unfortunately i pour the large amount to garbage, cuz food lahmacun was not tasty and absolutely overpriced.
Reminded me of the atmosphere from most Greek diners on the east coast. It seemed like the place was owned by a family, and the owner came out to make sure our tables were set and to chat for a bit.All the food was made warm and fresh - including the pita bread they give you. It took a little bit for the food to come out (we ended up with 2 appetizers and 5 meals for 5 people) but it was all warm, all just-made, and all delicious.100% coming back.
Great food. Nice looking place. Friendly staff. During our visit they were slightly disorganized.
The food is great, very delicious and authentic turkish food, great service, nice and friendly staff, I will recommend it %100
Favorite Turkish place in the Bay Area. Consistently great food, great people and great atmosphere.
Very disappointed in the food! To much peta bread fillers in one dish! Lamb chops were pounded to make them look larger ! Wine 🍷 is like 2 buck chuck wine! Over priced🤔 Its been over a year since my last visit, very disappointed ☹️. Do not recommend!
Great place. Delicious Mediterranean Turkish food
Friendly, and attentive service. We favored the chicken kebab over the lamb, although both were very good. The calamari was pretty tasty. It came breaded in corn meal and had a nice tartar sauce. Would have liked a cocktail sauce to offset it, but no real complaints. Thought it was really good..
I had beef kabob-rice and a ground beef appetizer. The appetizer was smelly and disgusting and did not eat it. The kabob was ok until I got a horrible piece and stopped eating that too. I think they feed you any kind of meat that might be there fresh or not. Avoid !
Simply the best. Awesome food. Great service and staff.
I went because of the hundreds 4.5 stars and let me tell you something: this place worth 2 stars tops!!The Dolmas- stuffed vine leaves, came right from the can!!! Without even trying to upgrade it and make it less dry. When I told the owner about it, he didn’t even blink or denied. The chicken skewers were also dry.I cook Mediterranean food, so I consider myself someone who knows a thing or two...
Ordered special fish and chicken tavuk plate. The rice under the chicken was very cold and tasteless. Fish was good. For 70$ bill I expect better.
Just toll a baklava takeout. Baklava was just ok... Not bad..
Yummy!!! I got the salmon fish wrap and enjoyed it thoroughly. We also enjoyed the new (ok, more than a year now :-) ) outdoor seating and had very good service as well.
Wonderful outdoor dining experience. Castro street promenade provided a great place for eating good food.
Literally euphoric that’s all i’m gonna say!
Food is delicious and service is awesome!
Fish 🐠 was ok!Lahmacun🍕 was great 👍 it was less fatty than usual Turkish Lahmacun, it seems they alter it for Bay Area healthy life style 😊Desert: get kadayif which do NOT have cheese 🧀. I got kunefe which was salty sweet (more salty).Food and customer service was great, they only opportunities to improve is remodeling the restroom 🚽.
I could not find a better place for lunch or dinner in mountain view on the street. Whats my favorite restaurant when they were in San carlos. And I still drive to mountain view just for the experience.
Delicious food. Friendly service. Awesome baklava!
Awesome food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. We tried Patlican Dolma and Tavuk Shish Kabab. The kababs were grilled to perfection and the dolmas had a flavorful stuffing. Definitely a go-to place when on Castro Street.
A much better place with new drink license and Cocktail menu, new raki and fresh fish
Menu says beef, green peppers, and rice. Received overcooked lamb, red bell peppers, and a pita bread. Pita was decently delicious. The main dish, not so much.
Im obsessed with their pides especially the lamb pide, so good! Cozy, friendly, nice atmosphere. And the food is great
Had an amazing experience in this place with my friends and my husband a week ago. The staff was very polite, proactive and charismatic. It was very cold that night and we were dining out due the lockdown. Yet, I felt relaxed and welcomed. If am not wrong, that night we had Falafel, Esme, Pita bread, a ground lamb pizza, lamb chops with veggies, shrimp in tomato sauce and extra pilaf rice.Everything was delicious. The lamb chops (the day special) with veggies were so freaking tasty. OMG, def going back for those. We enjoyed the drinks, as well. Mine was a margarita. 👌I def recommend this place. And Ill be going back for sure. Curious about the dine-in experience.
Liked it so much, that I return for a second round of deliciousness just one week after my first try 🙏🏽🙌🏽
The food is great. I always order the iskander kebab. There is a very little problem with the service when that gentleman is answering phone calls and charging your credit card, but that is not noticeable because of tasty food.
The best place in the world .
Amazing food!! Everything tasted good! Our waitress was very nice and made sure we were satisfied! Definitely recommend this restaurant and I would come here again!!
Overpriced kebabs that were dry. Tried both the chicken and beef, both were on the dry side and small for the price.
Amazing and delicious food... so fresh! Wonderful atmosphere and energy! Affordable and wonderful local people. You will not be disappointed.... have been going here for over 15 years ❤️ One of my very favorite places to eat in Mountain View.
Got a lentil soup and manti. Soup was okay, had a little stone in it.. Manti was very dry. Looks more like microwaved as a whole and tastes even less. Disappointed with my first order here
Extremely poor experience ordering food online via MealHi5. I requested a cancellation of my order nearly an hour before it was allegedly delivered, never actually received the food (~$200 order), and had very poor customer service throughout the 3-hour experience. The first call from Hi5 came over an hour after I had placed an order (the entire delivery time was estimated to be an hour), stating that the order would be delivered shortly and to expect text message updates. Half an hour later, I still hadnt received any updates, so I tried contacting Hi5. And when that didnt work (my call went to an automated answering service), I contacted the restaurant itself. Apparently the driver still hadnt come to pick up the food, so I could either go pick up the food myself or keep waiting. So I requested a cancellation of the order -- at this point it was already 2 hours after my order was placed. I then received a call from Hi5 that the food was on its way; I repeatedly told the Hi5 driver that I had canceled the order, but he would not accept this.So I called the restaurant again and confirmed the order cancellation. The restaurant agreed that the food would not be given to the delivery driver (and confirmed that it still hadnt been picked up). After this, I left home to get dinner somewhere else and soon started receiving more calls and texts from Hi5: that the food was on its way, that the driver had arrived, and that it had been delivered. When I arrived back home about 10 minutes later, there was no food delivered anywhere near my house.I strongly advise against ordering through this delivery service.
Amazing authentic Turkish food. We have been to all mediterranean restaurants around and Baklava is the best. Everything we took was exceptionally fresh and delicious. So happy we found this place to celebrate our family event.
Its high quality food, service is great, tad bit expensive for the food for what you get.
Awesome food! 👍
The business is run by some outdated people with no respect for customers. The online menu says something and what youll get is completely garbage. They lie about what youd expect. We ordered combo kebab which according to their online menu was supposed to have Adena, chicken and lamb. The box which we were charged for was a mess with 6 pieces of meat and some rice for ~18$!! They are dishonest and rude. Never go there or order online from this place.
Great staff but the food is ok, a little bit overpriced.
Turkish with Greek and Mediterranean dishes. Saghanaki, hummus, falafel and tabouleh of but also koftw, cevizli peynir and other Turkish mwzzes. And for eves they have the expected kebabs but also Turkish dishes line three Turkish ravioli called manti i had a lamb pide which is sort of a Turkish pizza with ground lamb on a wonderful freak pita-like bread. Wonderful! Not cheap but very good
Fantastic atmosphere and very welcoming service. The food was fresh and delicious. Will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. Affordable prices and big portions. Keep up the great work.
I have been in the Cafe Baklava for e few times. Food is not fresh and nice every time. If you are lucky, you can eat good food. But it is Okay. There are two different prices. In the web page of Baklava you will see cheap prices but actually prices higher. The prices are not updated and they dont care about it.
Love this place. One of my favsFood is great. They have outdoor seating now plenty of space and segregated from other tables
I celebrated my graduation yesterday in this great place. I am glad to say that we enjoyed a incredible evening and the restaurant was unquestionably the reason for the outstanding event. The team helped in a lovely style, the meals were appetizing and my friends were very glad. We shall definitely visit again for more joyful events. Thank you very much.
Everything we had was good. Fair prices. Service was great. Would come again!
May wife and I absolutely love this place! We drive down from the foothills above Sacramento to eat here. The staff and food are fantastic!
We got lentil soup mix apt. And a mix grill the soup was ok but the rest is terrible. I’m sorry but not worth the price at all.
Great food, little pricey for me but I guess the neighborhood is changing
My preferred place for delicious Turkish food. Staff is always nice even when they have a full house. Service is consistently above par. The place has a great atmosphere.
Tasty food, attentive service
Great Mediterranean food. Feels homely and the service is really friendly too. Weve eaten here many times over the years and the food never disappoints.
I really like this place. Food is fresh and tasty, price is good and staff is cool. The portions have good size but are not like those insanely huge American portions.I eat here almost every evening when Im in South Bay.
The grilled lamb was amazing. Everything was super fresh and delicious and everyone was patient. We were with little ones so came before the dinner crowd and the staff was very nice about letting us sit in an out of the way place and didnt rush us. Yummy.
The food is consistently well prepared and delicious, staff members hands over good customer service. I loved the cleanliness and character. Will come back again.
Excellent food and wine selection. This place is open until 10:30pm and plenty of outdoor seating!
One of the nicer Middle Eastern restaurants Ive visited in the Bay Area. A very soothing ambiance, pretty good menu of food/drink, and decent service. Their stuffed eggplant and hummus are definitely worth a try. All said, it is an expensive restaurant and not really proportionate to the overall experience. But for that, definitely worth a visit.
The food is very tasty, we tried the kebab and the dolma(from the appetizers). I was surprised by how juicy yet cooked the meat was. The restaurant is a bit expensive and the wine we tried wasnt anything special. The staff is very friendly and attentive!
Fantastic food, very friendly staff members, constantly great vibes. They charge convenient rates and the food quality is awesome. Great work.
The food is consistently fresh and tasty, staff members provides fantastic service. I love the cleanliness and atmosphere. Will visit here again.
Always get a good lunch value. Attended a small monthly group meeting and ordered from a smaller fixed menu and everything was excellent. Staff is great. Felt like guest at a Turkish home.
Really good my Turkish Friend said 6.5 of 10 ^-^, u guys are good thank you
Loved the Turkish pizza, it was unique and yummy! Their kebabs are good too..
Really good and authentic Turkish food! We will definitely come by again.
I used websire menu and ordered for two people. When I picked up the order, the prices were changed on 3 items. I asked the man about it and he was dismissive. I called the next day and was told the online menus are off and need to be taken down. He said hed ask the manager to call me. He never did. This restaurant used to be a favorite. I wont go back.False advertising!! Rude!
Good food and friendly staff.
Great food! Great customer service! Good quality food!
