Overpriced food that doesnt taste that good, screaming children, and someone literally changing their toddlers diaper right in front of the restaurant. I ordered fish and chips and got three pieces of fish on a bed of fries, all of which was cold. One of the pieces of fish (im being generous by calling it that) was literally only the beer batter that had been fried. Overall, food, customer service, and vibes were all off. The only saving grace is the view which, quite frankly, doesnt make up for everything else that is wrong with this resturant.
Amazing place to enjoy your lunch/ brunch! The place is bit pricy but it’s worth the view if the weather is good. As we are vegetarian- only black bean burger 🍔 with salad matches with our diet but it’s pretty good and always hits the spot. Definitely work the place and taste. Visited this place after a long time. Fish and chips, Country wine chicken, Black bean burger and salad were excellent. Good food and service was prompt. Enjoyed the atmosphere a lot. As usual parking was an issue but the visit and walk around the lake was all worth it.

The food was amazing, beautiful view thats looks over the bay. They have drink and Brunch. They have a watermelon salad with feta cheese. A must go if your in San Jose.

We went for a walk around shoreline in one of the trails and ended up starving at 3pm so stopped at this cute cafe for a quick bite and we were happy that they closed at 4pm woohoo. We had the shoreline burger (which was great although the bun was a little big) that came with fries (happy me!!!), the veg burger (which was a bit dry), the veg panini with red peppers which was superb and the grilled chicken sandwich was great too. We were psyched they had the stone IPA as well!!! When we ordered the guy was super nice to tell us the food we were originally ordering was too much so that was much appreciated!!! Good food and great view outside. It can get loud as there are couples with kids but we didnt mind.
Its such a nice setting. The pear and gorgonzola salad is fantastic, and the beet salad is also scrumptious. Despite a lot of patrons, the food came up quickly. Waiting in line to order can be a little tedious however.
Zero Covid responsible (and unfriendly). If you take covid seriously and want to take care of yourself dont visit them. Everybody has to go insides to pay (no matter if credit card or cash). Zero flexibility, no curbside/outsides pickup. Tables are soo close!! Not possible to keep any distance to other guests!
One of the best places on planet earth. Almost 70 degrees for 10 months of the year, lake view, water sports, watch a daily mesmerizing daily sunset/sunrise. Caveat that with increasing views this place will probably get a little more crowded.
Garden burger was very good; especially the cole slaw on the side was a big hit with the kiddo; both the bun and burger were of good quality. All ingredients seemed very fresh. Well packaged and biodegradable containers

If weather outside is good, this is a great place to grab breakfast or brunch while enjoying nature all around you. Food is good (although the vegetarian options are relatively limited), and so is the service but its the view and fresh air that I value the most at this place. They do have high chairs for kids and a kids menu too. Later, one can rent a paddle boat or just walk along the periphery of the lake looking at ducks, other birds and sometimes squirrels that are around.
We love eating out. Yesterday we found this excellent place which friends told us about. We had a lovely time there with great meal and a professional crew and a professional cook. We put this place in our phone list and we will no doubt go again soon. We highly recommend.
Good fish and chips
Loved the view and good cafe food. I was delightfully surprised by how good the salmon salad and cream of mushroom soup were. It looks like a basic cafe but the ingredients are fresh and service is quick. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the salad was drowning in raspberry vinaigrette.

Wife and I shared their Salmon salad, they split it in two bowls for us which we didnt even asked them to do, that was very nice of them. The grilled Salmon was prepared perfectly the greens were fresh with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing and candied walnuts and dried cranberries. We parked on the other side of the lake and walked the mile to the restaurant, then continued around the lake another mile or so back to our car, Perfect. Think well make this a weekly routine...
I recommended this place to a friend as I am used to pretty much having the place to myself in the afternoons. However when we met this time the place was extremely busy. Apple was having an employee function plus a child was having their birthday party held here. In spite of this the food was good, the service was great and I will definitely be back.
You dont go here for the food. You go here to sit next to the lake, chat with your company, and then consider coffee or food. I had breakfast with my running buddy and we both were coming off a 7 miles early morning run. Standard coffee. Standard French toast. Standard fruit bowl with granola and yogurt. The atmosphere however made it worth it.
View is great! We tried burger and grilled chicken sandwich, not impressed at all. However the cakes look really good. Would definitely plan to go back for coffee and cakes. Besides, its a nice place for biking day out during weekend. Its on Bay Trail after Stevens Creek Trail.
Good latte but the chestnuts were awful. I expect them to be open shelled if theyre fire roasted but apparently someone forgot to make decent cuts on these. Plus, theyre Chinese chestnuts instead of Italian which means its very hard to get rid of the fuzzy stuff underneath. $5 for 6 (small size) was a total waste in my case.
Great ambiance in that the view of the lake is nice. The birds and squirrels coming up to the table is annoying and I could say unsanitary. My son and I had two burgers and 2 fresh squeezed orange juices and the price was $46.00. Pretty steep considering the diameter of the burger patty was 25% smaller than the bun.

Friendly staff with a scenic vote of the Shoreline lake in Mountain View. The nature and trails nearby make it worth a visit almost anytime of the year. The three stars are an average review from my side as the food and drinks are satisfactory. A slightly lower price of its menu options would make sense however.
Aptly named Google Lake in my cars GPS 😉 I came here to do a practice ( first ) build of a new sun shelter. However it was insanely windy ( 2pm on a summer day ). By the way if you come here bring a LARGE ground barrier ( vinyl is best ) as for there is an insane amount of bird droppings all over . Its bad because Cali rains not so ... yeah build up.
We love this place! Come here a couple of times a week during biking weather. We love the staff, the food is consistently good and we enjoy seeing all the other regular patrons. This is definitely a treasure and we are very lucky to have it so close by.
Gem of a place hidden away and thats how it should be! I went there with colleagues for brunch and the food apart from being delicious was also plated elegantly which is a cut above your regular cafes. The ambience is one of the best you could have in the bay area.

I love this area, but the stocky guy who owns the place is pretty rude. I came one with some food and casually asked if I could please buy a drink and eat my own food there, since there were plenty of extra seats. I said it in a very polite way, and was a little surprised that his reply was a rude no. A polite no I might understand, but in fact I was doing the right thing by being upfront and offering to buy a drink (money they otherwise wouldnt get), and instead he was very terse in his reply.
I had breakfast here on a Saturday morning. The area is really nice, sitting at the lake-side and watching people in their canoes floating by was nice & relaxing. The shoreline breakfast combo was pretty good, but the coffee boring, and the fruit-cup fresh out of a cold refrigerator. Would come back here again because its such a nice place, but not because of the food alone.
The Lakeside Cafe of the American Bistro sits right on the lake shore, besides the boathouse. The view is super relaxing, and glass panels eliminate most of the wind chill. The cafe offers a compelling brunch, including some tasty waffles. I would happily give it 5 stars, but limited parking and crowds make it a bit unpleasant on weekends.
I like it here. It is a good place to have a nice brunch or lunch. The only bad thing is the restroom. I am not sure how is in charge of them but last Sunday that I went they were dirty and wet.The food is great. The plates are very good served. The icee teas are nice too.

Great place for summer picnic. Our spot was next to the American bistro cafe. So, you can eat at the cafe while picnicking.
The view and the ambience is beautiful. The food is not extraordinary,a bit pricey for the quality.
On a clear, sunny day, its lovely to sit outside on the patio and enjoy brunch! Food is typical American diner food and its self-service for a table. I recommend going early if youre heading out with a large group.

Perhaps I was just unlucky; called in for a snack ordered the Shoreline Breakfast. Very disappointing. Bacon over cooked. Asked for scrambled very light they arrived overcooked. Potatoes less than delicious left most on the plate; beautiful spot probably will try one more time especially when the sun is out which it was not today.

I had breakfast this morning at Lakeside. They have a basic breakfast and great pastries. My great disappointment is their potatoes. They probably have been previously frozen and are not edible. Other than that, it is a cheery peaceful place to have breakfast.
Great place to relax and have a coffee after you walk the baylands. They dont have many vegan options but they have snacks like apples and chips.
I used the place for our 10th anniversary party with about 100 people. It was a great location. They had a great indoor and outdoor set up and most of all we both love the place. It is just wonderful to take the time to grab a sandwich or a snack and makes an hours lunch into a mini-break in middle of a hectic day.
We would give this place 5 stars, but we just showed up at 4 pm hoping for a tea and a bite to eat, and all the doors were locked. Hours say 5 pm. Unfortunately, this wasnt the first time weve found the posted hours not to reflect when they are actually open.
Food is delicious, specially soups...! AND the view is lovely. The cherry at the top is that, you can have a nice walk aftwrwards.
This is the only bistro you would find on shoreline park. I ordered a latte chai here. It was good and different from a usual tea I am accustomed to. View of lake from bistro is awesome.

First time here ordered the club sandwich. Ive never been so disappointed with a club sandwich before. Two pieces of bacon and a Single thin piece of Turkey that didnt even cover the bread. And the potato salad is Thoroughly disgusting.
One can have relaxed brunch, great place to go out with colleagues. Staff is ever smiling and very friendly. have been 4-5 times during my stay.

Last visit for us here was a bust. The food was absolutely underwhelming with bunch of items thrown on a plate. I had bunch of egg shells in my eggs. The tomato soup was meh and the even the beans were cold.The place had no wifi so dont go there if you want to do some work and even the mobile signal there is super bad so barely you get a connection.
The reason to go to this cafe is the buttery French baked goods - croissants, pain chocolat, etc. They are a regular service restaurant as well, and have good espresso, the prices are fairly reasonable and the service is decent; sometimes they are a little understaffed. You could go there for breakfast or lunch or just to drink coffee by the lake, but the real reason, IMHO, is the fresh-baked buttery croissants.

A+ for the location--there are not many places in South Bay where you can enjoy a simple brunch and relax next to a lake. Lakeside Cafe is very casual and has basic breakfast options that are reasonably priced. The Huevos Rancheros, classic breakfast, and fresh-squeezed orange juice were all decent. The frittata was mediocre and bland; we probably wouldnt order this again. The staff mixed up some part of our orders and gave us eggs that were a different style than what we originally asked for.Overall, the great view and atmosphere do compensate for the ok food and service. There is plenty of parking and after the meal, I recommend hiking around the area or exploring the lake by boat.
