I have gone to Mountain View Surplus for probably 20 years. They have REAL military surplus items, lots of hard-to-find items, and lots of items for camping. Great place for snow boots and such. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Plan to spend some time there because there are worthwhile items on every shelf.

In my life there arent many places left that still hold genuine nostalgia. Uniqueness and actual quality in any retail situation is also extremely elusive these days.. Mountain View Surplus managed to combine both of these fast fading concepts under one roof, and topped off the sundae with a warm family vibe & knowledgeable customer service! Do not pass up a opportunity to drink up some fresh squeezed sunshine inside this store. I cant wait to go back myself.

A great surplus store! I was on aquest for a replacement phonecarrier. I thought I lost the old onebut then I found it! Forget what I justsaid we are on a quest! I found ahorizontal perfect case that wasbelt loop ready. Really professionallooking. My original case is vertical,a military style and both cases are atan color.MVS has a friendly helpful staff and the outfits, uniforms, backpacks,day packs and accessories that youneed to make life easier andultimately more rewarding.Shoes (no Merrills, I might havemissed them, I looked very fast)and boots, mess kits and First Aidbundles. Darkly lit, expansive andrusticly romantic. Stop on by if youhave the eye for the aforementionedand so much more!

The best military surplus store in Northern California hands down. Owner Dar knows the surplus business and is a wonderful dude. Massive selection of European and American military gear, including the best selection of authentic camoflauge clothing from around the globe. Insane!

The employee there was professional, friendly and good customer service. I actually bonded with one of the employee there. They are well equipped th actical gear and shoes. Go check it yall you wont be disappointed !

I love this place but its super expensive

Great selection of gear and the sort. I did however try to buy a bivy cover and the store own tried to up sale me from a listed price of 69.99 to 129.99. He said the bivy was new but there were no tag or packaging. I really enjoy a good military surplus store but if they continue to do things like this people will turn to online retailers like sportsmansguide

It is a really large store, most of the gear is old surplus from different countries but there are some gear from WWII and the Vietnam War (from what I could see). I got 2 things there but I’ll be going back, I could spend hours there and find new things I didn’t see before. Great place and the man working there is really nice 👍

There are so many nice things that are in there that can be practical for everyday use. Ive bought gloves, caps and other things that I can use for the winter. The only thing that bugs me there is the man that runs it is quite creepy and kinda scary. He gave me the bad looks the whole time I was there and made me so uncomfortable. He doesnt take credit cards and only cash. I would go back if the man is not there anymore.

Solid military surplus place if thats what you seek. Limited selection of clothing. Lots of loose parts like buckles etc. Many inexpensive pocket knives. Decent weather gear but mostly mens sizes (duh), solid but not finely made. Designed for tough performance and wear.

Service is friendly and helpful. Great selection and plenty to see. Prices are very reasonable. Ive been there three times and will definitely be back soon.

My favourite place for looking around and buying militaria. The selection is very broad and youll always grab more than what you came here for :-) Sadly, customer service depends a bit on the mood of the owner... But youll still manage to find acceptable solutions.

Best place bar none to get simple camping supplies. Has an amazingly large selection of the basics and traditional camping supplies and scouting supplies at a good price. Great place to get a cast iron pan, cooking gear, inexpensive hammock, etc.

Its a surplus store! Lot of old, fair bit of new. Knives and sharps up by the counter, camping and first aid scattered about and most of the rest of the store was clothing. If you know what youre looking for, its a great place to check out and compare prices!

A little bit disorganized, but there is a lot of really interesting stuff here. Prices are good too. Check it out for something you wont find just anywhere.

Love the place to buy military surplus gears to travel bought duffle bags that I use to pack my suitcase into when taking planes, keep the suitcase safe.

I needed a set of USMC dress blues for my grandfathers funeral and this place has a good selection of uniform items and alot of other cool stuff. However the used and stained white belt was way over priced.The owner knew I needed it and also would not separate the damaged Non-NCO buckle. I was already spending a over $200 on this uniform and some Marine stuff for the kids and he wanted to get me on another $25 on something damaged and stained. If I had other choices I probably would have left. Since I had time, I ended up getting the belt on Amazon with a Brand new NCO buckle for less that the stained non rate POS he was selling. The lady that worked there was very nice and helpful, but when I had to deal with the owner I felt like he had no customer service skills. Alot of cool military stuff, just dont expect a deal. Also, check for things online as Im sure youd be able to get it in better conditionfor a fraction of the price.
