I love this place: for inspiration!

As of Aug 4, 2020 - store is liquidating inventory, currently about 40-60% off most items, with selected items (seasonal and floral) up to 80% off. Selection, understandably, is limited. Staff cutting fabric and manning the registers were friendly and efficient. Store was busier than normal, but most customers observed social distancing and there was near 100% mask compliance.

Curbside Pickup system sucks! Hours have not been updated and order processing takes far longer than a reasonable amount of time. I ordered three small items that were labeled “In Stock” two days ago and still haven’t received a “Ready to Pick Up” email! Called the store on both days to make sure they were open and someone was in store btw, unhelpful staff. I love Joann’s, but they need to step up their online ordering system....Update: And the staff definitely leaves early! Witnessed it myself.

Sad this location is closing. We shopped here for many years and we dropped in a while ago to take advantage of the 30% off. Good thing we had internet while shopping. Only a few items were priced high that we seen on web. We ending up buying one item on Amazon and saved $10. But all our fabric has been purchased here.

Store is closing. Everything is on sale. The service is great- people are helpful and lovely. Selection was... Ok. Now of course with clearance sales as they close materials are pretty picked over.

Abby is great glad she is moving to another store since this location closed its doors.

Ordered curbside pickup. Called to make sure someone was working, and they said to stop on by and call when I get there. Showed up to pick up my order at 3pm and the employees were leaving out the door. I told them I was there to pick up an online order, and they said I would have to come back tomorrow. I told them I drove 13 miles from Downtown San Jose and they said there was nothing they could do. They totally wasted my time by not telling me their hours of operation when I called. The website still says they are open until 6pm so how would I have known? No answering machine or automated recording notifying customers of store hours. They need to do better, and I have seen Joann stores in other cities that have their system in order and functional. The ones in the south bay area are a nightmare and i have been to all of them. I will support Michaels instead.

Get their coupons and never pay full price. Nearly everything is on some type of sale. The staff there is quite helpful and friendly so don’t hesitate to find one of them to as questions. Supplies for nearly every type of craft project seemed to be on hand. OK, I didn’t see supplies for welding art pieces from old car parts. But nearly everything else seemed to be available.

Wonderful place, great atmosphere, wonderful customer service. Took off a star because I was told the material I was looking for would be in stock in a week, and weeks later, it still had not arrived. I had to order online and was not able to finish my project in time.However, this was not the fault of any of the employees, and the material I was looking for was rather uncommon. Stellar store besides that.

Store had a good selection of clothes to pick from, even in the clearance section. The lady who assisted me was very helpful even though she seemed new. Even though I went in knowing exactly what I wanted to get, I admittedly got distracted by all the different other patterns that they offered in the fabric I wanted. Store was great but because its located to the entrance of a few parking lots, the drivers are crazy and arent always paying attention.

Great place to buy fabric and related craft items. Unfortunately they are closing soon to make way for a new school.

I have shopped at JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts for decades and have always appreciated the availability of a wide range of supplies from sewing to scrapbooking. There have been some occasions of long waits in line to make a purchase but overall I would recommend JoAnns for most crafting needs (knitting, crocheting, jewelry making, quilting, sewing, baking, and more).I am extremely disappointed that the location at the San Antonio center in Mountain View is closing.

I love this store. It has just about everything I need for sewing and crafts. The reason I give four stars instead of five is that in the last couple of years they are often out of stock on the item I’m looking for, so I may have to go back a couple of times in order to get it.

Helpful staff, especially when we dont know much about fabrics! Their craft section is sometimes lackluster. Their seasonal sections are usually pretty good though.

Joann is a wonderful resource for people who still do crafty things. Lots of gorgeous fabrics (I found exactly what I was looking for), really friendly service and all kinds of fun crafts supplies. The store is very clean and parking is a breeze.

This has been one of my favorite fabric store for years. The staff is very helpful and gives design ideas too when you ask for their opinion. I buy craft stuff and books and beads too lots. They have many 1-2$ sections in craft finds which are very unique

This store is closing so when I went this week most of the good fabric is normal price and the awful fabric have just 50-60%off. So its not as great Big sale as they advertise :(

Fabulous store. I could be there for HOURS. :) :) So soooooo many things to see and buy. They also seem to always have deals n such going on which is fun and appreciated. :) I bought some gorgeous fabric samples decent size for samples, 99c each which is great.

Its a typical Joanns. The price of anything is doubled, then at best you get a 40% sale.I got some quilting cotton that was labeled as 100% cotton, but feels and acts like a blend. Which is why I normally dont shop here.

Good selection. I can always find what I need (and more). But they seem to be understaffed as I often find myself waiting at checkout even in off peak hours.

A great selection of arts and crafts supplies. Very logical planning - easy to find everything you need. Proximity to others stores (Safeway, Target)helps to do all kind of shopping in a limited time. Spacious parking lot - you can always find space.

First time there. I am glad its near me. Did not have much time to browse as it was near closing time.

Joann fabric has always given me good service. I have recently traveled to Florida as well as Calif- San Jose, San Francisco, Vista and Oceanside. The service at Joanns in all these cities has been been consistently good

This store in Mtn View is shutting down, so obvious limited stock and hard to find what I wanted.

RIP you magnificent, overpriced craft shop. Many an hour of my childhood was spent here picking cloth and baubles for zany costumes.

I love JOANNs because they have way more things than you would expect. Great for sewing, but also crafting and baking!

My favorite craft store on the peninsula. Good selection of materials for a variety of crafts. It can be a little challenging to find a staff member to ask questions or get help sometimes though.

Joanns has tons of notions, good pattern sales, craft supplies and such, with a convenient location and good parking. I spend a fair amount of money here. Having said this, the fabric selection at this store isnt nearly as good as other Joann locations - the one in Cupertino is much better. And while I have had some lovely interactions with some staff people, I have also dealt with clueless, unhappy ones.

Dont go there to walk quietly down the aisles and discover new things. The atmosphere is more: go straight to what youre looking for and leave after having waited 15 minutes in line to pay because there is only one cashier.They have a good selection of felt, ribbon and threads of every color and quality. Nothing incredible though.Always look on their website for a coupon, youll always get a discount.

Good experience both times so far. Just wanted to share a little detail I had. Pay attention to the receipts print out because I’m sure I had a Free coupon and the cashier immediately acted like it was trash and wrapped it into a ball to throw it out. God knows that their employee discount is not enough for their free stuff. I get it it’s jo Ann’s but at least have some decency to give us our free coupons if it’s store policy to trash them then still don’t act coy about it. Thank you.

Amazing craft supplies. I always spend more time here than I plan because of so much stuff to look at! On costlier side though, but good prices when on sale and with coupons.

Good selection of fabrics, though not cheap. Pleased with the variety of crafts stocked although there were lots of empty spaces on the shelves. People in US should be pleased they have such stores - the UK has very few so I felt like I was in Alladins cave.

A busy pre-Christmas day, Dec. 21, at JoAnn Fabrics in Los Altos! I was greeted and assisted by a young woman when i entered the store - Nice!! And the young man at the cash register was polite, friendly and handled the line of customers in good natured way despite the busyness. He also took the time to explain the restocking process and timing for an item that was out of stock. When I compare my experience today with one at Michaels a week ago - there was a night and day difference! In the future, when I am shopping for items that are available in both places, I will be coming back to Jo-Ann - hands down winner for customer service.

You can find what you need, mostly. But it is a pretty depressing place. Not somewhere that you will find a lot of inspiration.

AC is broken, which makes shopping on a hot day uncomfortable, and cant be good for the workers. Sometimes the cashiers are away from the registers, leaving the customers to wait or track one down. The feeling of the store is overall depressing.

Old, outdated store that has a very poor selection compared to some of the larger Jo-Anns Ive been to. The staff arent very knowledgeable and I am never able to find what Im looking for at a good price. Its in a very awkward location as well.

Store going out of business and currently selling off their inventory giving 30 to 40 percent off regular price. But beware of the Regular price listed. They listed a single small 13 Quart plastic box with a locking cover for 24 dollars before the discount. I went to Costco and got 6 similar boxes with the same locking covers for $12.

Sometimes its difficult to find help. And they have wheelracks around that block the merchandise but they are easy to move.

One of the last fabric stores in the Palo Alto, Mt. View area. Very helpful staff.

I will be happy if I never have to visit this Jo-Anns again. The selection isnt particularly good, the red tag fabrics are not cheap, and the staff are slow and nonknowledgeable. I have gone during the day, in the evening, on weekdays and weekends, and they always seem uninterested and tired.

Lots of fabrics mostly from China. But so costly. But only place in US where i can enjoy buying fabrics.

I hope one day this store gets a remodel. The building is really showing its age now that the whole San Antonio shopping center is being revamped. No air conditioning, so when Ive gone on hot days, the shopping experience is pretty miserable. Theyve added a few portable A/C units, complete with duct taped power cords on the floor. The interior needs a major facelift. They do have a good selection of fabric and notions and frequent sales. The layout is ok - I can usually find what Im looking for without asking. The staff have always been very friendly and willing to help.

But sad to hear its closing to make room for a school.

Gangstalked by staff and customers, did not have what they used to as far as products I was looking for. Waited in checkout line for 15 mins before someone came to front to help.

Toilet terribly stinks. I can’t believe people actually use it.Aside from that, this place is interesting for the variety of stuff they have. If you are looking for Ott study lamps, this may be one of those few places to find them at a discount.

Came here with the Google Offer and bought some fabric since I am trying to get back into sewing. The layout of the store is a bit confusing and the store itself is a little outdated, but they have really nice staff who can answer all of your questions and their pricing is great (especially with the offer!).I will be back for sure. :)

I get that these people dont make much $$, so the quality of employee is not top notch, but you would think that answering the phone does not take a rocket scientist to execute. I called the Mountain View store three times and till no one would handle my call. Each time I called the first one to pick up the phone was very apologetic about the lack of service, but I was still forwarded to the white noise of a phone on hold rather than a voice that would answer my questions.

Fine store for crafting, at least good if you do quilting or need yarns. Less selection for other hobbies.

Small store but neat and clean! Has other stuff than michaels and this is where you could go and complete the search for the craft you were looking for.

I, too, have had many issues at this location, however my last two visits within the month have been much better. The staff appears to be new and more interested in the customer experience.

We come here when we need to. Prices are high and non-competitive with online options.

Staff was really unhelpful with some very basic questions. Their app has coupons but you have to make an account to use them.

I miss the Christmas decorations for sale.
