Good selection of Asian food and cooking ingredients. Im going there for seafood and meats very often. Expect long cashiers lines.
Super expensive. I give it a low stars because they mislabel the prices and charge you more. This happened multiple time. When I pointed it out they dont honor it. So watch out. You might also want to confirm the weight of your veggies from time to time. The weight I have at home is different from what I paid.
I always like how helpful and friendly the staff are, at the 99 ranch markets and then you have the hot food which is great bang for your buck.
I love ethnic markets. Plenty of good Chinese style food here. Some Japanese style food too. Prices are reasonable.
Most Asian foods that Im used to can be found here. Unfortunately, rice are not sold in smaller amounts. Smallest I could find was 15lbs
If got chance I visit them for their self serve food items, they are delicious and reasonable price.
Good Asian store . All groceries are available here. You feel a bad smell when entering into this store. Sometimes fish available here are not good. Both freshwater and wild caught fish available here. You can also buy live fish and they will cut it for you. Frozen fishes are also available. Vegetables and fruits are fresh and good. You will get good fresh pastries there. I like the varieties of bread available here. The bread is very soft and tasty. Small cafe inside this store serve to go food and not too pricey. Frozen Chicken and other meats available here.
Best treat from this place is that you can pick the fresh fish and Dungeness crab of your choice and have them fry or steam it. Just decide ahead of time the numbers you need to tell them corresponding to your cooking preference since most of their workers may not understand you. The grocery is good enough for most of your needs if you want mostly Chinese stuff. There are other and better groceries in the area if you need more country specific choices like Japanese or Korean.
It really made me feel like I was in a Shanghainese traditional grocery store having lived in China for a few years. Thats a compliment and a criticism.
A tad crowded, but great prices, go during off peak hours will do you good.
Found everything I needed for my recipe! The choices in fresh Bok choy and mushrooms here are awesome!
Try not shopping there especially for deli court. They are good at shorting you for roasted ducks. This is my second time that they short me. I bought a whole duck and when I got home, I found out they at least kept 1/4 of the duck. They chop the duck behind the counter so you can’t see it. Maybe it’s the way they can keep some.BTW, the price is much higher than the 99 ranch in Cupertino, maybe it’s due to lack of competition.
The go shop for all Asian food! 99 cent ranch market is brings together all the flavors of Asia into a single store. To the stand out feature is the variety of products available, from baked goods to a fresh seafood this store has it all for to satisfy your taste for eastern culture. It also helps that its conveniently located in a shopping center with access to everything you need.
Whenever we are in town my wife and I stop here to restock our Asian cooking supplies. Wonderful selection. But checkout can be slow and hard to get help if you need it.
More variety than 99 ranch in san jose
Great place for Asian food items you often cant find elsewhere. Every time I go, I want to buy out the whole store. Also, they have a food bar at the back with great noodles, chicken, vegetables, etc
Decent store, good prices not overly busy.
They sell food thats years past the expiration date and will make you sick. Shop at your own risk!
I love their fresh fish.
One of seafood guys service was so bad.
All sort of asian grocery items are available at this store, you get discounts for bakery items(percentage depends on your receipt amount), a good place to get fresh seafood around MountainView/Sunnyvale area, fast service at the billing counter, lot of parking spaces, close to other stores like ATT, NobHills etc
I love me some 99 Ranch. Great prices, insane variety, and a good amount of Asian spices/vegetables/pre-packaged food options. My life would be so much worse without their giant bags of loose leaf jasmine green tea.
I have preordered an 8 cake ahead of time for an event. Instead of a fresh-made cake, I paid $34.99 for a stale cake which was in the display freezer when I placed order. Heres the picture I took in the display freezer 2 days earlier and the cake I received 2 days afterwards. Do not preorder any baked goods from this store!
The cashiers here are the laziest and worst service amongst the supermarkets in the Santa Clara area. They dont help you pack your items, they just throw the bags at you waiting for you to pack it yourselves. And oh yeah, dont expect a smile from them either.
Found a few wonderful fruits today....my utmost favorites.....Papaya, Mangoes, Banana, Lychee and purple Yam. Thank you 99 Ranch Market.
This is a very well-stocked Asian market that includes a bakery, fresh produce, hot food, dim sum and a fish and meat market that carries live seafood that they will clean and cook for you on the premises. (Hot, cooked food adds sales tax.) They will fry or steam seafood for you without additional costs except for the added tax. I brought a big pot with me from home in which to put the 7 Maine lobsters I had them steam for me. That helped a lot in preparing a meal without having to worry about where to put 7 live lobsters.
They have a very fresh fish. Awesome selection of Asian cuisine and products.
Best time to visit is before it closes the store, so you dont have to wait in line for so long.
This place has all the Asian groceries I need.
I come here almost every week.
The pork has gone bad. Smells stinky after defrost.
Crowded, with great selection of Asian food essentials, frozen gyoza and yum cha, plus an aisle of woks and dishes. Prices are reasonable. The creme de la creme is the fresh fish market - and there was a queue of roughly 20 people waiting to get their fresh fish- Good selection and decent prices same goes for their chicken and they also have a ready-made food section and a bakery that had some very yummy rolls, plus a good selection of cakes/desserts.
Moved from ST. Louis to the Bay Area. We had much better Asian groceries back in STL. I can’t believe how stinky and limit selections this store has here. Funny that I don’t really find many other options for Asian groceries here. Really disappointed!
Smaller, busier, less patient than other 99 Ranch; it still got what you expect for a 99 Ranch.
Excellent customer service, very friendly have many items that other doesnt have
Living far from the city this is the one store i visit with out fail when Im in town.
Great place to shop Asian food.
So many selections of all kinds of food (fruits, vegetables, seafood, meats, hot food, Asian savory and sweet snacks, cooking necessities etc). A lot of varieties to choose from! Everything is always fresh and great options for families. Reasonable prices with this store located in a convenient plaza. Parking is easy to find within the plaza too
A paradise store for those who love Thai a d other Asian countries cuisine
I always love coming here to shop for the hard - to - find goodies, and pick up pastries and steamed buns. The store always feels a little crowded, and often looks a little dirty, but their produce and meats are always fresh and tasty.
Crowded but delicious food. Most value for money
I have been a customer of this store for many years. I used to love their fish counter. However beware of the freshness of their fish. This week I purchased some sword fish steaks, which I grilled immediately upon returning from the store. We could not eat them, and had to throw them away. Even cooked they tasted spoiled fish with a light smell of ammonia. It is the first time I express my frustration, although in the last 2 years, this is the third time I have had a similar experience and had to throw their fish away. Note I always cook them the same day, simply because as an amateur fisherman I know fish spoils quickly. I would hope that Ranch management tells their attendants when they know the fish is turning bad, to take them off their stand, instead of still selling it to customers. One day someone will get seriously sick!
Aisles are too small and no space is left.Has a neat bakers, fresh meats section and a Togo places for fresh cooked food.
Best Chinese supermarket outside of Asia. Feels like a mini park and shop
Cashier was very bad. Yelling at me because I didnt understand her.
Decent place. If you want the dim sum go early. We went at noon and the food was meh at best because I think it had been sitting out.
A little crowded in Covidtimes because they dont effectively limit shoppers. Go right at open on weekdays. Otherwise just a standard decent Ranch99.
Great place with a wide variety of foods in many cultures. Fun to shop . They have a small take to go restraunt in side . Great food there too.
Very standard 99 ranch market. nothing too fancy about it.
You will find everything you want here!
Great Asian marketLoads of fresh seafood.Lovre their cooked food especially Dom Sum
Mountain View 99 ranch has steamed buns. These are for making Gua Bao. They’re really popular and hip on the food scene. They may also be known as pork belly buns, but these are just the buns. Cheap to buy and I can customize my own fillings to what I’m feeling that day. If you’ve never had them, they are delicious! Especially when warm and steaming, they have a little bit of sweetness, smooth, easily rip-able. Go check these out at the Mountain View branch!
This 99 Ranch market is clean and organized. Most of produce is now is individually wrapped (lot of plastic, though)
Fresh fish can be fried right at the store.
Shop on a weekday, much better deal on the bakery coupon, and fewer shoppers, too. If only theyd open more checkout lanes.
Great selection of Chinese green vegetables at excellent prices. 99R still had my favorite - the big pea leafs + shoots. Not cheap at $9 but they surprisingly still carried them so I bought many bags :)Aisles are a bit tight so distancing may not be possible.
Good variety of our items. Horrible customer service.
Ranch 99 is always a winner and this one is very convenient to the highway and El Camino Hospital. Ranch 99 has a great hot bar for Chinese food complete with dim sum and also a wonderful variety of Asian food (couldn’t ask for more varieties of soy sauces :-)). Their veggies and seafood are also very fresh.
Not ideal for shopping during covid - no limits on shoppers allowed in store and the aisles are too small to obey social distancing. Items I need are often out of stock. The place feels a little dirty too.
Amazingly clean with a great selection. Stock up on your bin bin rice crackers, spicy peanuts, and dragon fruit here Their bakery rocks too, check out the Fruit Cake Its literally a birthday cake filled with fresh fruit on the inside 🔥
Ummmm.... What can I say Im half black half white and I love this store and they love me back!!! Everyone is super friendly and eager to help... What can I say I used to live right next door to the one in Foster City and it was the only grocery store that I shopped. They have everything you need and more!! The pre-package different fruits and vegetables that are already to throw in your meal with no required preparation. Their quality of fruit, meat and plants (Orchids, bamboo and money trees) is unsurpassable, nobody can beat them.... Oh, and best of all the more money you spend you get either $1 or $2 coupons to use in their bakery (amazing) and buffet (awesome and they give you a ton of food). So what are you waiting for get your behind in there.... Also they have an entire isle that is RAMEN!!💃🏽
This is one of the better ranch 99 among the ones I have visited. They have good amount of storage of vegetables.
Very nice place to go and do shopping we love it and wheres the first time we went
Chinese groceries primarily, a bit of other Asian such as Indonesian and Vietnamese
I buy seafood and vegetables from here, just so you know that their products are always fresh
The place was clean and friendly service, I just went their to use the bathroom
The whole store stinks. I cant stay there more than a few minutes.
A lot of traditional chinese goods, very convenient to find things
I was in a fabulous mood until employee Kelly was extremely rude to me when i needed help with my card going through. I couldnt believe the way she spoke to me. So i went to unload my groceries and went back inside and gave her a piece of my mind and walked off as she was still talkingWill never come back in here. These people always have funked up attitudes smh
The employees typically speak more than one language. So if you speak a language other than English, a staff member might be able to help you out. It doesnt hurt to ask! Spacious store, so you can take your time to shop (if you need to). Have an open mind when shopping! the foods you find different might
I came looking for fish cake, fish balls, some tofu, and some soup dumplings for my daughter. I also had to get some medium grain rice for my wife. I don’t recommend coming here to go shopping the closer it gets to Chinese new year. But if you come early on the weekend it is not too crowded and check out could be fast. Are used to buy dim sum here as well as the hot food. For the hot food are usually get a medium size box and pack it full for as much as you can. This store doesn’t require you to be able to close the box so the more you can stack the better. The dim sum is good and hot and kind of reasonable.I like buying the ground pork here because it is the cheapest.
Tiny 99 ranch missing lots of things... I would drive 15 min more and head to the Cupertino ones which are much better stocked.
I usually find good produce at a reasonable price and all of the ingredients for Asian recipes. On my last trip I went to confirm that they have live lobsters for sale. They did.
Food, fish, meat, produce is always fresh and aplenty. Always crowded, which is a good sign.Prices are low. Never got a bad product from this place.
One of the more expensive locations. Convenient if you dont want to go to multiple stores to get everything. Some items cost twice as much as other (not 99 Ranch) stores. Their roast pork is not mother-approved.
If you want to buy asian style sauce, noodle cup, or snack, go for it. But in terms of vegetables, meat, and fruits, you should avoid it.
Everything about this branch is great! From fresh produce, ample parking space, helpful staff/customer service, affordable prices/weekly specials to so much more! It does always feel extra cold in here, so make sure to bring a jacket, especially if you’re shopping in the summer! Maybe it helps to keep the produce extra fresh, so can’t complain there!
An excellent market to shop at when needing anything Asian. Wonderful selection of greens, veggies and more unusual friuts and veggies. Be prepared for live fish and the smell that goes with it!
Thought of making ramen and got all the ingredients at one place. Lovely
Really old, non updated Ranch 99. 65% of the size of your standard Ranch 99. Missing a lot of spices and ingredients.Does not offer deli coupons based on the amount spent for groceries.Clerks were nice.
This place is great. They have fresh vegetables, meats, seafood, and a wide variety of products catering to the Asian market. First time Ive ever seen an Asian grocery such as this was in Canada and hoped to have this kind of establishment in the east coast of the US. Unfortunately they dont have anything close to this (except New York and New Jersey). So moving here to the west coast and finding out that they have this store is great. The hot foods and bakery section is also awesome.
Our go-to place for live crab, which they will steam/crack/clean for free, if you dont mind waiting 15 minutes or so. Also a great source for some items that I find are not as fresh, or way more expensive elsewhere, such as US trumpet mushrooms and Thai basil.
Love my 99 ranch
Excellent Asian market
I love this store ! Many great varieties of options to choose from! I took away a star because the lady at the food area is very rude the guys there were very nice . Very nice store just some poor customer service
I find some specific product not easy to buy in a regular US grocery store for a reasonable price.
Walking around the aisles especially this time of year with Chinese New Year right around the corner is an adventure. Be mindful that there is more of a crowd before the holidays. Puts me right back into childhood looking at all the goodies that I usually only see once a year.
Nice market. Prices could be little cheaper
