99% old romance and old western novels. It is run by an older couple and I feel sorry to leave a bad review, but when I clean out my bookshelf, these books would be the first to go. Nothing intersting and rather disappointing.
Mostly mass market paperbacks that are very old. If you like old romance novels, this is your place, but the prices, selection, and ambience are nothing impressive.
My mother and I stopped by bearly used books and upon first impression we loved it there were a lot of different kinds of books there. There wasnt really any kinda books for preteen or younger children there. The lady that was there was friendly and helpful they have kinda a large variety of books from Tom Clansey, Connie Mason, Lisa Keypass, Joanna Lindsey and more the only thing that got me was the prices of the books the prices are half of what the original price of the book was which Im ok with paying to an extent if the books have only been read a few times or not at all but some of the books are well read and shouldnt be half price of the original price.
The selection is primarily cheesy romance, which if you’re into that, this bookstore would be perfect for you. The two times I have come in, the woman at the counter was kind and answered any questions I had, but she stayed on her phone the whole time I was in there. The prices are very expensive considering the condition of some of the books. That being said, I was able to find something both times I went in, one book being a very new (hardcover) release for under 10 dollars. This store is hit and miss, like most places, but it’s an okay place considering it’s the only used bookstore in the area.
The good news: a clean, well-organized store with plenty of paperback books. The bad news: very few hardbacks and not much non-fiction and many of the books have seen better days. The terrible news: the person working the counter was devoid of warmth, friendliness or common courtesy. She was an older woman with the personality of a used bar of soap. I brought in a bunch of nice, hardback books to *give* to the store, including some “coffee table” books. The “lump” refused to take the books out of the bag—I had to do that. She then slowly looked at each book and graciously said “I guess I can find some use for these”. She acted like she was doing me a favor. No smile. No “thank you”. No gratitude. She showed all the enthusiasm and warmth of a Democrat welcoming Trump to a strategy meeting. I’ve never been treated with such indifference and coldness in my life. I’ve worked in customer service my entire life and this “lump” could not even say “thank you” or put on a phony smile—something most people learn to do early in their career. Because of the “lump”’s off-putting personality and lack of professionalism, I will never be a customer and I will certainly never give that store any books. What a pity. A perfect example of a person I’ll-suited to the job and working with the public. Not recommended at all.
They dont have a fantastic selection. Although I can always find at least one book that I want to read each time I go in. The lady working was nice to me. Prices are a bit high for used books but Im so glad theyre here. Nice to have a bookstore in town. Thank you
Loved this little place. Went to Mountain Home for work and asked if they had any bookstores in town. They told me no. I was driving in the evening looking for food and saw the sign. They were closed but I made sure to go the next day. lady behind the counter was pleasant and the store was small but nice. Glad they still have a bookstore in town (theres a quote about a town that doesnt have a bookstore but it escapes me at the moment...). Great little place and I hope it stays open for a long time. When I go back to MH I will stop in every time.
Loved it. Friendly service, clean store. Nice selection of mysteries. Also has dvds
Very nice place, older books, but still reasonably priced, shelves clearly organized and neat, very nice woman behind the counter, courteous and kind.
Lovely little store. The person working there was friendly.
Im new to the area and just stopped in. This is the most expensive used bookstore Ive ever been in. They were asking $7.50 for a very used paperback copy of The Shack. Very disappointed.
The store was very organized and the people up front were nice...However, for a used book store I felt these books were a tad bit overpriced.
Great place to find books.
Nice local bookstore
I always go here for my books
