We took out BMW here to have it diagnosed and where pleased. We then called to get a quote on our Subaru and the mechanic is the back ground was swear about us and asking how we F@%&ing knew it was a blown head gasket. They will no longer be getting our buisness.

They refused to even look at my car;!!,I told them everything that was wrong with it,they told me it was unfixable,well...it turns out that it was very fixable!! I ended up doing the work myself and saving a ton of money.

We were on an extended trip from Seattle to New Orleans in our camper band, and nearby it started making odd noises. These people did some work on the van including replacing the harmonic balancer and the radiator and another item, within 24 hours and got us back on the road, which was great, because we had to be in New Orleans for a wedding. Plus, they found after they completed the work that they had billed us twice for disassembling part of the front end to do individual pieces and cut the bill down by $300. Top-flight people. Very nice, efficient, professional, and effective. Use them!

Great service. Cheaper than any of the dealerships in the area, including Boise. The only reason I gave it 4 starts was because I was told it would take 2 hours and they took over 6. They did great work though and will be bringing my car back for future repairs! 👍🏻

We had a minor accident just west of Mountain Home on Sunday. Everything seemed fine, but we soon heard a scraping sound from our left rear wheel. Monday morning our car was taken to Mountain Home Car Care Center. We still had 350 more miles to go on our trip so we needed to know if the damage was repairable, or if we should get a rental car. Mountain Home Car Care Center was kind enough to promptly take a look at our car. The damage turned out to be minor and they fixed it quickly. Not only that, but they were kind enough to have someone pick us up at the hotel so we didnt have to walk three miles to their shop. We were back on the road later that day. The price we were charged was fair. We had a great experience and would highly recommend their services. I hope we dont have an accident again. But its nice to know that if we do, and were near Mounatin Home, we know right where to go.

Had to get my engine replaced a couple of weeks ago, and these guys were amazing. Danny, Cory, Allen, and the rest of the guys are great. Kept me in the loop the whole time, and called me to inform me of other parts that needed to be replaced. Also, had a distributor issue and these guys got me back on the road in ~3 hours, including time for diagnostics and ordering the parts. Will definitely be going back.

Pros: Great customer service and expediency. I needed to have my transmission oil serviced due to an incident when changing my engine oil. They helped me out, the price was reasonable, and overall the customer experience was great.Cons: The reason for my three stars is because only days after this service, I noticed a MASSIVE oil leak. At further investigation, I found that the oil drain plug was only finger tight. Fortunately my oil level was still well within limits, however due to this mistake, it could of cost me a whole lot more had I not known what to look for.All-in-all I have nothing against these people, and will probably go to them again when next I have an issue. That said, there needs to be an emphasis on the importance of proper maintenance. This simple thing shouldnt have become an issue and hopefully was just a fluke. Please use some extra attention to detail in the future Mt. Home Car Care Center.

I was very impressed with Mountain Home Car Car Centers service. I brought my Honda in to have an oil change and fix a minor leak from where the oil screws in. I also asked to have the transmission flushed as it was over 50k since it was last flushed. They looked at the fluid and determined it wasnt worth the added cost. Unlike allot of mechanics they didnt just flush it for the money they actually called me to make sure I wanted serviced as the fluid was still in good shape! They also checked and replaced the air filter as it was filthy. They didnt price gouge and they did a good job.

They always communicate clearly and in a timely manner about the work thats needed.My most recent issue involved an electrical problem with a 30-year-old car (@ 200,000 miles). Pinning down the precise issue and replacing necessary parts might have been prohibitively expensive, but they found a creative way to work around it and got me up and running again in no time. The cost was very affordable.Theyve been in business for a long time, and it seems to me that its for a good reason. Ive not been disappointed yet, and will continue to take my cars to Mountain Home Car Care.

More importantly they communicate with their customers in a fast, efficient and friendly manner.While its not easy to find a good, honest mechanic in Mountain Home, this could be one of the few that is honest and cares about their customers.

I was referred here by a best friend of a mechanic there, told they would look out for me. $900 later I now have a blown car engine. At no point was I warned that their repairs could result in me not having a car or that the car was not worth repairing. I feel any car mechanic that can take the last of your money and leave you with no car, and then say with no remorse, Too bad about your luck, not our problem. is certainly not a professional or looking out for you.

I took my vehicle here today which I purchased over the weekend. They were very honest with me said transmission was about to go out. I took it here for an oil change and possibly a transmission flush but since its about to go out they suggested not to put more money into it.The oil didnt look bad anyway. These were great! I went in for an oil change and they found my air conditioning system was leaking. The total came up to over $1,000 but Rudy looked into my coverage and luckily I had an extended warranty that covered it! I walked out paying a small fraction of the cost! They easily could have left it at that but that 1 question saved me $1,000.Follow up: My A/C wasn’t getting cold when I turned it on when it finally was warm out this past week. They got it in when it worked best for me and although they couldn’t find anything wrong, they went ahead and did an evac & recharge at no cost.Highly recommend for anything from oil change to replacing a radiator! Thank you!Also, the inside was very clean and boasted an outdoorsy feel!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE.Way overpriced to the tune of 5k over, and basically said that I should scrap my car out and they could do it for me. Instead of taking their advice I had it towed home and drove it around town for a few days no problems, took it to another shop and they said the computer had been wiped and they cant find anything wrong with it. HMMMMM....

Mountain Home Car Care Center did a great job at replacing my sensors because my check engine light kept coming on. They also helped me replace my serpentine belt and did that at a great price. I recommend this place to my friends all the time.

Labor per hour may be less than other places in town however it just means they will be sure to milk their time when comes to doing the work. Less experienced than the dealership I had my truck towed to Boise before letting them work on my vehicles. Just because you are responding to reviews does not mean your business is good by any measure. You are right this not a conversation. This is my review posting letting everyone else know about the shoddy experience I had.

The people were nice and quick, but they have 100% mark up on their parts! We needed a new alternator in a Pontiac Sunfire and the parts were 80 to 119 dollars depending on the warranty and they charged us $250 Just for the part (total bill was more). I do not feel that is honest!

Terrible! I wouldnt give it any stars if I could. My husband went in and received a quote for a fix. When we went in to pick up the vehicle they tried to snake in $50 extra dollars for all types of fees. When the guy was confronted about this he nervously acted like he was doing us a favor. Im sure they have their buddies rate this place great, and they try to scam others with their fees. Never coming back here again!

Sent my husband here to figure out what was wrong with his car. They charge by the hour. $200 later they told us what was wrong... they were incorrect. Sadly, we were out the money we paid for them to diagnose it and out another $200 for the part to replace. I guess thats just what happens though.
