Ive been going here since 2014 and in the beginning, it seemed like they kind of didnt know what they were doing, like they would fix the wrong things vs repairs that were actually needed. But in recent times service has gotten more accurate. However, it is not a top quality repair. Example: brake jobs dont last that long. 1 year later, I need another complete brake job! Serpentine belt replacement, and the squeaking noise continues. Whats up with that?! It seemed like these mechanics need time to gain experience over the years and they arent quite at the expert level yet.

I normally do my oil change for my car but since we moved, we now street park and i was not able to do an oil change on the street, plus i put a lot of mileage to my car due to my work and hobby. Normally i wud drive to Dupage county to get a military discount and cheaper sales or service taxes. Since we have moved in this area, im looking for an autoshop that i can trust and rely on, i started calling well known nationwide autoshops and they charge way too far from my budget. Then my second options are the local autoshops. I finally called Dempster Auto Service and ask for conventional or regular oil change price. Mr. Kim said $25 It fits my budget perfectly and after knowing the owner and the mechanics, they gave me a discount. I dont know if its military discount or for being a first-timer customer. The mechanic also checked my tire pressure and filled it up with air and cleaned/wipe the dead leaves off my windshield. Those small things, impressed me, it shows that they care about their customers, so im very satisfied. They have coffee pot that everyone is welcome to make their own coffee, theres a tv but it was in korean channel. Im not much a TV watcher so it doesnt really affect me. One thing that caught my eye is their American flag and POW flag outside facing the busy street of Dempster St. They also supported or sponsored many sport and they received 2 certificate of appreciation from American Legion which is awesome. It would be really amazing if they start giving military discounts to our armed forces and veterans though or perhaps a loyalty program. But nonetheless, i highly recommend this place, support our local businesses!!! I will definitely come here again. Building trust and friendship takes more than one visit.

It is not easy to find honest mechanic nowadays. Mr Kim is amazing.I am using his service already for many years. Not only he does very good job fast but is also affordable and honest.Today I had squeaking brakes due to ice under the cover. He removed the ice, re-attached the cover and …did not charge me anything. WOW

When an interior door panel in my car became dislodged, I brought the car to the dealer to be fixed. The repair coordinator told me, we are SO busy that youll have to bring it back in a few days, and itll cost at least $150 to take the panel off and see whats happening. Maybe more. UGH. :-(So then I drove over to Dempster Auto. Mr Kim came out, actually looked at the door panel rather than a price sheet... and was able to put it back in place in a minute or so.

Been taking care of my family and I for years. Most of my relatives are serviced here. Always a great job, years ago I would see a different mechanic who always charged me for some other bullshit then I would drive away with the same issue. After going to dempster auto service Ive been satisfied ever since.

No stars for this business. Owner is a Scammer!!! I brought my car for repair and he told me that is not worth to repair due to my car is old. I asked him to repair it anyway. He lied that he could not, he said he junked it. Couple of days later, I saw my car drove by one of the staff in the Dempster Auto Service. I stopped by the Dempster Auto Service and complained about it.They admitted that they lied, but car can not be returned due to that they sold it to someone else. When I shared my story to my friend who had the same issues. They were and are doing this scam all the time. Owner is a scammer and need to stop the lies. BBB should investigate the business and stop this scam once and for all.
