This is the second time we have used Restorations. Previously had several dining room chairs repaired (one was actually split in half) and they came out great! This time we needed 6 kitchen chairs, 2 chairs re-caned and a dining room chair repaired. The kitchen chairs are 25 year old French style wheat back chairs that were loose all over and one of the X brackets on the bottom of 1 was broken. The chairs were tightened/repaired and touched up and they look fantastic! The other 2 chairs came out great too!

I highly recommend Restorations by Peter Schichtel. I brought four pieces to be refinished: an end table, 2 dressers and a China closet. These were old pieces of furniture that have been with my family for many years. Pete did an outstanding job restoring them. In fact, one of the dressers and the China closet had some water damage to the legs, and there was no sign of it at all. All four pieces look brand new. It was a pleasure doing business with Peter. Things were handled in a professional manner. The price was reasonable for a great job. I was completely satisfied with Peters work and would definitely use him again.

My experience with this courteous, professional and highly skilled staff exceeded every expectation. My son and his wife recently moved to a most charming home, built in 1930. The wood entry door had weathered considerably and it was my extreme good fortune to contract with Peter Schichtel and his firm. They removed the door, secured the entry on Monday and reinstalled it on Friday, beautifully restored.

Peter did a beautiful job giving an old dresser of mine a whole new look! It was well worth the wait and Im thrilled with it.

We had a great experience with Restorations by Peter. Peter and his crew are extremely professional and skilled. They refinished our kitchen cabinets and made our kitchen look brand new. The cabinets look as if they came right out of a factory. They cleaned, sanded, painted and lacquered all of the cabinet doors and shelves that were inside glass doors. They were also able to change our hardware to whatever pulls or knobs we selected, regardless of the original pull/knob holes. They even came back for a final touch up after all of our counter tops were replaced. Highly recommend- beautiful cabinets restored at a fraction of the price of replacing.

My 24 yr. old solid mahogany doors haven’t looked this great since they were brand new!! Peter and his crew did a WONDERFUL JOB!! Right down to mixing the stain color! Finish is 3 coats of oil. FANTASTIC!!

The most incompetent little man you will ever meet in your life. We had a client who needed 4 replacement panes of glass reglazed in their bookcase door.Since the clients primary restorer (in charleston, sc- second home) was on Christmas vacation the first week of January, we helped them find a “restorer” close to their primary home in Madison, NJ.Peter was very pleasant over the phone so we decided to go with him. We brought him the bookcase door and the glass panes, which were already precut and ready for installation. We were given a price and told two weeks. Two weeks later he was very rude and acted like I was bothering when we called to schedule pickup. He then told us it would be “next week” for the next 6 weeks. Today, 2 months later, we had to go take the door and glass back...after he had the nerve to ask me if I was being impatient in a super condescending tone. Still not complete.This weirdo has pics of him with adult movie stars all over his office. Maybe he should spend a little less time online and a little more time sticking to the timelines for the jobs he promises.

This guy is fantastic! I’ve been bringing my furniture to them for years. Everyone on his staff is highly skilled and very friendly. I would reccomend them to everybody!

Peter Schichtel does more than restoration, he brings life back to furniture, turning his projects from 1 star to 5 star. He is an artist.
