Last week I traveled to WV and that Monday my vehicle broke down. I had it towed to University Toyota. Rodney, the service advisor, was so helpful in expediting the diagnosis and repair of my vehicle. The mechanics promptly and efficiently fixed my vehicle and by Tuesday afternoon I got my vehicle back. I was then able to relax and enjoy the rest of our family vacation. So thankful for their help!

Unfortunately had my car break down recently and had it towed to University Toyota for repairs . Rodney and the rest of the team were fantastic about keeping me in the loop regarding diagnostics of vehicle/repairs and were able to complete the same day. Even made me aware of additional issue, which they offered to repair but was an easy fix for myself to complete . They were able to communicate concerns via text so was easy to keep up with during work day.You might pay a little more at a dealership service center but top notch service/communication from these folks .

Wonderful experience working with Zane at UT. Very professional, easy to reach (including by text message), and answered all of my questions. They let us bring the vehicle home to try it out before deciding on the purchase!! Being able to bring it home, put the car seat in, try it out for a day and night and make sure it was a good fit was amazing. Thanks UT for the top notch customer service.

STAY AWAY. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAYLARRY WELSH is simply dishonest and CHANGED HIS TUNE on multiple occasions.STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTSThey are dishonest and do not follow through with their promises.I purchased a new highlander on Saturday Aug 21. The highlander was not in stock but due to arrive the next week. I wreck the trade -in the next night. I called LARRY WELSH the sales director the next morning and he said no problem the paperwork has already been turned in and we still have a deal.Long Long story short Larry saw the trade in that Friday and then COMPLETLY CHANGED HIS TUNE. He wanted verification of this, that, and the other making me jump through hoop after hoop after hoop CHANGING HIS TUNE EVERY TIME.. But he kept guaranteeing me we still had a deal.I had the trade towed to another body shop because of LARRY WELSHS new requirements for my trade-in damage to be verified. Then the owner jumped in and wanted the trade towed back to their shop. Then the next day the owner jumped in and he CHANGED THE TUNE EVEN MORE.Now he wants to cancel the deal because I did not pick up my new vehicle within 72 hours of it arriving on their lot even though LARRY WELSH, (WHO KEPT CHANGING HIS TUNE), was not permitting me to do so. I have several emails confirming this situation.OH I FORGOT TO MENTION that LARRY WELSH called me this past Saturday and screamed at me because he has been in the car business 22 years and HE HAS NEVER BEEN ACCOUSED OF CHANGING HIS TUNE.

Things started out great with them, the internet director Derek was very pleasant to talk to and informative! The Sales Manager was also nice, I got passed along the next day to a sales person who I didn’t enjoy, he was busy and non caring, didn’t want to fight for me to make the customer happy, the finance manager was nice, but to the point with no frills. We ended up not purchasing from this dealership because the interest rate was way higher then should be. Overall ok experience, just won’t go back

Service here is pretty poor. Every time I have called and talked to them, mainly the service center, it seems like it’s a burden that they’re having to talk to me. I went to them before I bought my first vehicle and when I told what my budget was with my down payment and everything, the salesman came back with a monthly payment that was DOUBLE what I told them my budget was. Then he asked me if I was ready to sign the paperwork on it. I should also mention that I did get the same truck from another dealer at the exactly price point/ budget that I had shown UT.Moral of the story is that you can find better service and better deals elsewhere.

I should probably rate this a 2 or below, but here I am. Giving them more credit than I should. I bought a new car a few weeks ago, I love it. The customer service and financing service- this is what ruined it for me. Let me start by telling you that I was on the lot for a full 15-20 minutes without anyone coming to meet me or help me. We had to call from the lot. Afterwards, a salesman helped me and was friendly enough, but that’s about it. After several numbers were ran, they came down on the price of the car and gave me the car on the lot when I was willing to downgrade to get something slightly more affordable. Now let’s go to financing. I spoke to my salesman several times about not wanting an extended 6 year warranty. During the financing part- I was given a piece of paper with 4 different options of warranties- at this point I was there several hours and didn’t realize that I was supposedly purchasing a warranty that I did not want. I was never told “you don’t have to get this” I was told to pick one. Obviously being the first time I’ve purchased a new car on my own, I picked one, not realizing that I was purchasing a warranty that I already said no to several times. Fast forward to opening my Mail a few days ago and SURPRISE!! I have a 6 year 75,000 mile warranty that I purchased unknowingly. From my point of view, this is shady and kind of dirty. I spoke to several others who have purchased their cars there and the same thing happened! Thankfully, after a lot of emails back and forth with financing, it’s getting “taken care of” and while I’m not getting any money back, it’s going towards my overall principle. Moral of the story: go elsewhere.

Theyre a definitely pushy when it comes to trying to sell you a car. But besides that I had a good experience. They worked with me to get me into a really nice car that not only did I not think I could get approved for. But got me within $40 of the payments I was looking to pay each month. And helped me get a good insurance quote for my vehicle. Overall I would recommend this dealership. They really worked with me to get me into a good reliable car with more than affordable payments.

Lance was an awesome salesman. Not pushy, but very helpful. I initially came in to drive a Rav 4. I didnt like it so he offered up two other suggestions -- a Forester and a Rogue. We loved both of them and ended up taking the Rogue. The other employees were extremely helpful as well. Tom was excellent going over the financial side to us. And Ben was extraordinary -- we had trouble getting our rusted plate off our old vehicle and he managed to take it off and transfer it. Would highly recommend University Toyota, and well be coming back when its time to shop for new wheels again.

I purchased a vehicle about a month ago from umotors because they had almost the exact vehicle I was looking for which was not easy to find in this market so I made the trip. The salesman was OK but I knew more about Toyota then he did and the manager was arrogant and annoying but my real problem is with the finance. I agreed to the buy even though the interest rate was very high knowing I would refinance with my credit union. I stopped there the other day to complete the refinance and found out my loan also had an extended warranty and insurance tied to it that I PAID FOR. I never agreed to an extended warranty when purchasing this vehicle I even told my sales guy that I didnt need one because I trade every 3 to 4 years. My bank tells me that its refundable but why do I have to chase down a refund for something I didnt agree to buy? Maybe this is how business is done in morgantown and I should have been more careful but who would think a toyota store would do this? I am sitting here reading some positive reviews of this place and cant help but wonder... were you people paid to write these reviews? do you work there? because this place is awful. I stopped here on my road to purchase a new Toyota and my experience was downright bad. My sales guy seemed to be new but was doing an alright job but he kept getting yelled at by his boss. I could hear what he was saying and it made me feel very uncomfortable. I didnt like the offer they gave me for my trade in so I got ready to leave when his boss came over. He talked very fast about kelly blue book and average market value. I explained this was the 3rd dealership I stopped at in 2 days, what the other dealers were offering me for my trade in this market is literally the definition of average market value. Needless to say I got a better deal and purchased elsewhere

Once again, Ronald was 150% and over-excelled at his job as usual. This is now my 4th encounter with Ron. I will get my car serviced with no other person. Please understand; I have zero affiliation with Ron outside of the Dealership - he did not coax me into doing these surveys. I do this on the simple fact he deserves it. He treats MY car as if it was his car, he communicates quickly and efficient with me in simple terms I can understand every 15 minutes (4 times minimum during my service wait), he tells me how long I have before inspection stickers, tires, breaks, rotors, registration, wipers etc. go bad so that I know what to expect in the future. He educates me on when other mechanical issues arise at certain mileage markers in my specific model of Toyota so that I pay attention to it to schedule another appointment to prevent severe damage. In other words, his knowledge level and dedication to following every procedure you have laid out for him is well exceeded, over and beyond every time I see him. He doesnt take breaks, hes loyal, committed, caring, he communicates directly, he listens, he has my back and best interest in mind at all times. I will never get my serviced by anyone but Ron and I look forward to seeing him every time I drop off my vehicle. I know Im in good hands.Thank you,Andrew HendricksBLACK CAMRY! Thanks Ron. I have lived in Morgantown for 20 years and have never heard anyone say anything good about University Toyota. I decided to buy a Toyota there even though I knew the reputation of this place. I have to say I will not be returning to this dealership unless I absolutely have to. While buying... they put my truck back out on the lot twice to sell after I purchased it, before I picked it up. At one point I got up to leave during the buying process because they would not tell me what kind of APRs I was looking at. When they saw I was getting ready to leave they magically found the numbers I was asking about. The first offer they made me was an insult because it was so high... I think they try and rip everyone off at first so see how much they can get away with. The truck they sold me was used but I knew it had 2 recalls on it before I bought it and I asked if they had been done and they assured me they have been. I decided to write this review because today I received a recall notice in the mail about one of the things I specifically asked about. I called another Toyota dealership to see could tell me if the recalls had been done. That dealership was helpful and told me one recall was done and one was not. The one that was done was not even done at University. They broke one of the vent visors on my truck after I purchased it and promised to fix it and they never did. I called to find out if they ordered it and was never called back. I ended up buying it myself. My one experience was exactly what I expected and heard from everyone I ever talked to about this place. I have a dozen friends that have horror stories about service they received at University. One friend found tools in his Tacoma after he noticed it was leaking oil after an oil change. I was there when he pulled a loose wrench out of his engine compartment. lol!! I would rather drive 2 hours out of my way than let this dealership even touch my car. Just saying... buyer beware.

My experience with University Motors was really good. My girlfriend and I were greeted immediately upon entering the Dealership. We were connected with Trevor McDonald and he saw us through the entire process. Trevor was eager to sell a vehicle and worked with us to make sure our expectations were met. Trevor, his sales manager (Larry) and I went back and forth several times until we came to an agreement on the total price, my trade-in and my payments. Ultimately, the price of the vehicle was priced well and a great deal. However, the initial number I was given for my trade-in was $2k less than NADA rough trade-in. UM is a KBB dealer and they get all their prices for trade-ins on Kelly Blue Book. However, I just think it is important to know what your vehicle is truly or actually worth not what it is worth to you. It is also important to make sure you let the dealership know this to. Do some research before you enter into the negotiations and dont bend if you dont get what you want. After some fierce, yet friendly negotiations, Larry gave me a deal I could not refuse and gave me what I wanted for my Jeep and ultimately paid off the lien to my Jeep. I would recommend this service team to anyone who is in line for a new or used vehicle. They were, friendly, professional and respectful through the entire process. Also, J.P. the Financial Manager was very friendly and professional. He was thorough in the process and even though it was closing time, he explained everything very well and made sure I understood.Lastly, I enjoyed the entire experience and I also appreciated how there are still owners in this business who still consider their employees families in their business decisions. I was surprised the dealership closed at 6pm on a Friday and when I mentioned this, I was advised that the owner felt it was important for these employees to spend as much time with their families as possible, this was mentioned on a couple of occasions.

This review is based on my experience trying to buy a Highlander XLE here a couple months back. I had previously purchased a Rav4 and a 4Runner here in the past. This time I was trying to trade in my 4Runner for a Highlander. In the past I worked with a salesman Ryan and also Brett. This time I had someone new because neither of them worked there anymore. The salesman was fine, got me to the right vehicle and was somewhat knowledgeable. Problem was the sales numbers he provided me, $25K for my 2017 4Runner SR5 premium... they had my same vehicle for sale with MORE miles for $33K. I was kind of shocked, they had known my vehicle its whole life, bought it and serviced it there, just bought a new set of tires 3 months prior. Anyways, after going back and forth with them for a week I decided to drive down to Fairmont Toyota . Got an offer for almost the exact same Highlander XLE, actually slightly more expensive MSRP and it was $2700 better. I negotiated with them for 20 mins and got another $500. So the final deal was $3200 better with almost no pain. Maybe youre the type that doesnt care about 3 grand but thats not me, guess customer loyalty means nothing to this place.

WE WORKED THROUGH DIFFERENT WAYS TO GET WHAT I WANTED AND I COULD TELL HE WAS INVESTED IN THE PROCESS MAKING MY TIME AT UNIVERSITY BE PRODUCTIVE. HE ANSWERED ANY QUESTION I HAD GENUINELY AND WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ON ALL PARTS OF THE BUYING PROCESS. THE ENTIRE STAFF FELT LIKE FAMILY FROM AN OUTSIDERS PERSPECTIVE. COMING FROM DODGE, I GOT A MUCH MUCH MORE DETAILED OVERVIEW OF WHAT MY VEHICLE OFFERED AND ITS CAPABILITIES FROM BEN FOSTER. OVERALL AWESOME EXPERIENCE AND GREAT, HONEST PEOPLE.

Jeff in the Body Shop was the nicest guy ever. He took care of everything for me, no questions asked, no complaints at all. They even detailed my car and gave it a nice wash before returning it to me. They just renovated their waiting area and its really nice now. Highly recommend to anyone needing a basic service or major body work.

After shopping around at different Toyota dealerships in the area, I decided that university was treating me the best.Zane is a fantastic salesman and overall just an easy guy to talk to and deal with, I highly recommend him if youre in the market for anything, he even went above and beyond and found the exact truck I wanted down to the floor mats, and got it delivered from another dealership.Overall, one of the better car buying experiences Ive had.

I have been a customer at University Toyota for nearly 8 years. University Toyota ServiceDept. has always done a fantastic job for me on my 2010 Toyota Tacoma. I just want to tell you why I will no longer be a University Toyota customer, will no longer recommend it and will add my One Star review to the University Auto website.Yesterday I had an overheating issue on my way to work. I had it towed to the service department so they could look at it and give me an estimate on the repair. Rodney, the new service manager told me that my truck would need a new thermostat and antifreeze. Then he said it would be over $400.A thermostat costs right around $10 and antifreeze around $10, so I asked him to break the charges down. He told me that there was a diagnostic fee of $130.00. When I asked him if the diagnostic fee was waved if they did the work, he said no.Not only the fact that in the past there was no diagnostic fee if the service was completed there, but $400.00 to change the thermostat and antifreeze is ridiculous. I can do that repair in the parking lot in less than a half hour.I will pay the $130.00, fix it myself and find another repair shop that doesnt gouge its customers. Thanks for all the help the last 8 years, but its time for me to say good bye,James Paxton

Jake the salesman was amazing. Never pushed anything and was willing to answer or find the answer to any question I had. Back in August I had a tire rotation and an oil change done. The rep comes out and says they have to replace 7 lug nuts. Ok that fine, it a 13’ model so I understood. Well 2 weeks later I smash a deer. Had it towed to university Toyota. They had my car for about a month, which I again understood and they told me up front that it would be that amount of time. I called a month later and they said it would be done by A certain day. 2 days after they finally call me and say my car is ready. I get there an hour and half after the phone call and my car isn’t ready. It was supposed to be detailed. I was already late to work and said screw it. 2 weeks later I go to get snow tires. I’m told I’m missing 7 lug nuts!!!!!! I have a 10 year old!!! I called and was told a manager would call me back. Iv called several times and no one will talk to me. This is beyond ridiculous. If one of my tires came off while driving on the interstate going 70 mph I probably wouldn’t be here nor my son. I hope you guys get your act together before someone get hurt. I’ll go somewhere else to buy a Tacoma.

I was very satisfied with my last visit to University Toyota. I went in for a state inspection and the service dept. ordered me a new hub cap for free. My old hub cap was cracked and was probably going to fall off any day. I had no plans to replace this on my own, because I simple couldnt afford to do so. I am very appreciative of the service dept. for taking care of this for me! I will continue to take my car to be serviced there, as I am always satisfied with the work they do. The employees are all very friendly!

Tried to do this post in a review but it would not take it so I will post here;;;;;;; Well, my son bought a used Toyota truck from you and he bought an extended warranty for 3 years. This was expensive and a big investment for him but felt it would give him security for 3 years and maybe by then he could afford to trade up. Well, he had mechanical issues with the truck and took it in to be repaired under his warranty. First they tried to tell him he did not have a warranty. Then they said he had one but the repairs would not be covered under the warranty because the truck was modified. He never modified the truck whatsoever! He bought the truck from them that way! Then they said he needed to talk to a manger who was on vacation, it seemed like for weeks. When he kept calling after the manager was suppose to be back to work, no one would talk to him and he never got any calls back from his messages. He was told it was going to cost $2000 to fix it! Then they tell him they will void the warranty and refund his warranty cost as a credit on his vehicle loan. Here is the issue, if you sold him a warranty, than honor it! If you made a mistake and should not have sold him a warranty, than fix the vehicle, then void the warranty and refund any warranty credit. You did not void the warranty until after the truck brokedown! You sold him a 3 year warranty and the vehicle as it was and he never changed anything. Come on,if you screwed up in selling the warranty, than you need to eat the repair, not him! You took his money for the warranty just fine for the past year and if never broke down you would have taken it for the whole term! Fix his vehicle and honor the warranty you sold him on the truck as you sold it to him!! BUYER Beware! If they run a business like this, the average working man does not have a chance. I will never deal with them again as long as they are this shading in their sales tactics!!!!

Disclaimer: this would be a 0 star rating if that were possible.Since I purchased my vehicle from University Toyota, I return every year for a complimentary state inspection (which turns out to not be complimentary). This year I had a full service completed on my vehicle approximately 400 miles before my state inspection. At that time my front brakes were measured at 5 mm. I travelled to University Toyota, walked into the service department, and was not greeted for about 4 minutes. I was then approached by a young man who seemed a bit lost. He was able to check me in and I spent the next 1.5 hours in the waiting room. The same young gentleman then came back to tell me that he “has some bad news”. He said, “your front brakes are right at 2 mm and the state minimum is 2 mm”. He told me that this would result in my vehicle failing state inspection. I then had to respectfully disagree with him and discuss the intricacies of less than or equal to versus strictly less than. When he seemed to not understand my argument I brought up the fact that my brakes had just been measured at 5 mm 400 miles ago (and had taken over 30,000 miles to go from 10 mm to 5 mm). He had no response for that. He then followed that up with a quote for replacing the front brake pads. University Toyota quoted me $450 to replace the front brake pads and resurface the rotors. I declined. I then had to wait another 30 minutes for my car to come out. Upon leaving University Toyota, I bought some gold level brake pads for $35 (nicer than they were going to put on), went home, and replaced the brake pads. When I removed the old brake pads they were measured at over 4 mm… clearly passing state inspection.University Toyota tried to get me to unnecessarily spend $500 for a service that did not need performed on my vehicle. The service that I received was less than unacceptable and demonstrated poor business ethics. Although I anticipate always being a Toyota owner, University Toyota will never receive any of that business.

I worked with Chris Pulling on the purchase of my 2015 Highlander and I was extremely pleased with his customer service. He was friendly and funny, and worked very hard to get me the exact car I wanted. His efforts are truly appreciated. I had begun my car shopping at a different dealership in town and had a terrible experience with one of their rude salesmen. Luckily, that experience resulted in me going to University instead so it all worked out for the best. My dad is thinking of buying a Highlander now and I told him he should definitely buy from Chris at University Motors!

I guess they werent all that interested in making any sales. Ended up leaving and buying from a different dealer.

The service office is always very helpful and their mechanics are Toyota trained professionals. Their prices are lower than independent garages and they offer significant discount deals regularly on their website. Lets begin with the fact that I asked for as much to be accomplished online as possible. I was still there a very long time. The car I came to test drive had an expired inspection sticker but I was told it was ok to go ahead and test drive it. Im not sure that is even legal. Usual car salesman over selling, questionable ethics. 😩😱😯😡
