My husband and I shopped all over this area for a mobile home and were so grateful to come across Competitive Housing. It is very difficult transitioning from another state.We had to communicate our wishes to Mr Sellers telephonically. His customer service was amazing and he was very accommodating in assisting us in locating and attaining temporary housing and even directing us to a mechanic when we had car difficulties. Which was very important because my husband was commuting every other weekend from Delaware to here for 2 and 1/2 months. This kind of service took many worries off our plate. And the closing and purchase was very quick and easy. We are VERY pleased with our home and the purchase. We highly recommend Competitive Housing.

We have been looking at their homes for over 10 years. My husband and I have talked many many times over the course of that time. Never pushed to buy on us. We were so excited to finally be able to purchase our home this year. We bought our home in May this year and was in in by the end of August. They were fast and our home is BEAUTIFUL. Even had a few things that needed to be done after we moved in. We had no hassle, they came right out and fixed it. No problem. Highly recommend this business. Back in 2019 I bought a manufactured home from competitive housing. The process was easy and I love my new home. Working with Bob and Ed was outstanding. I would recommend anyone looking for future homes to visit and deal with this company.

Competitive housing is a great place to do business with. I have worked for them also some and have been very pleased with my time there and The credibility of this business. I purchased my first home from te in 1996 . I have sold it since then but was very pleased with my experience !!!

Staff is friendly but loses a star because of conflicting information from here and Clayton. When buying homes information needs to be as accurate as possible. They have beautiful homes and they are reasonably priced. Had one of the most beautiful showers Ive ever seen.

Great people to work with. There was no pressure and Ed and Bob both worked with me and let me build my home the way I wanted too. There was honesty and trust built with this company that I was not able to find anywhere else. I was under contract at another place and changed to Competitive Housing.

My in laws worked with them on a new modular home on there property. Worst experience ever, what they said would take a couple months turned into 6. Days they said they would show up they didnt, horrible customer service when talking with them. Worksite was left a huge mess and really bad craftsmanship. They went with the cheapest labor they could find. Would not recommend to anyone. Do not work with these people or you will regret it.

We purchased a home with Competitive Housing last year. We signed an agreement for purchase in December of 2017 and moved in September 2018. I liked that they offered a land home package so we didnt need to get two separate loans. Bob and Ed were always polite communicating with us. There were some delays due to weather but that can happen. We were pleased with the finishing work drywall and painting done around the joining the home together. We love our house and are happy to be in it.

Ed Sellers and Competitive Housing is a wonderful business. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to buy. I helped my brother purchase a home from this business and we were very pleased in the service and the end product. It can take some time but it was all worth it in the end. We love his new home and he is very proud of it.

My wife and I purchased a double wide from Competitive Housing Center. We moved in Oct 2019. Schutt Homes was the manufacturer and dealer. I can recommend them both .

The sale staff were very helpful in supporting us as we made our selection of our home. The construction crew was good with no major issues. Please just keep in mind the weather can play a big role in setting up your home, you have to just be patient. We enjoy our new home.

This was by far a terrible buying experience and the biggest regretted decision I have made. ZERO stars are deserved. I made the choice to purchase from them for the opportunity to “quickly” be into a home opposed to the wait of new construction. I owned my land with well and septic already on the site and a kind friend who cleared the build site for me. Other than minor grading, the site was ready for foundation from day 1. When foundation was finally actually poured, I was never consulted on location or even told it was taking place. The grading completed consisted of pushing brush piles off of a bank next to a creek on the property. 8 months later and I am in an attorneys office proceeding with legal action as I was still without a home yet it sat on their lot. 1 week from hiring an attorney, I go out to the property to visit a friend and notice mail boxes knocked down, my neighbors yard destroyed and the home placed on footings filled with water. 2 years residency and the place is falling apart. With all of the disputes and BBB complaints, I should have refused to sign anything at the bank and proceeded with legal action. Being exhausted and just wanting a home for me and my daughter was my only reason to proceed. I should also add that Atlantic Bay Mortgage was equally a terrible decision. I’m now stuck with a Patriot home that I hate and is a daily reminder of a miserable experience. Please don’t be fooled by the “Christian” atmosphere as I was. I never received anything I asked for. Itemized list to see what exactly the “setup” charge was for a site with septic, well and cleared land already there is still something I’d like to see. Weather and lack of resources always seemed to be the excuse for delay yet the home was brought out 3 days after a terential down pour without my knowledge. Before even moving in I already had complaints to manufacturer to have repairs made, not all were addressed thanks to the “who’s responsibility is it” game between Competitive and the manufacturer.

We love our new home. We wanted to downsize and the model we chose is perfect for us! Sure we had a few issues come up (whoever built a house and didnt?) but they were fixed promptly and efficiently. Even now, after we have moved in, if a problem arises they come out right away and take care of it. The home did take a little longer than first thought but the weather surely didnt help! Ed and all the staff treated us fairly and kindly. Thanks Competitive Housing..

I had a very positive experience with Competitive housing. The staff there did what they said they would. The weather cannot be controlled but I was pleased with the service and would recommend them to anyone.

If I could give no stars ... I would ! This is the worst place EVER. They are very unprofessional and rude, and they sure do not treat their customers with respect . Many many things have gone wrong and he has done nothing but cover them up with lies . He wouldn’t even come to our closing so he didn’t have to face us . He acts like he’s a nice Christian man until you start your buying process and then he just begins his whole new act of this completely different person whom cares nothing about you just his money, and tries to see what else he can scam you out of .. Don’t let his christian persona fool you ! Ed has talked to my husband and I like we are dogs, yelling and screaming at us . And now will not take or return our phone calls . Our house was so poorly done we haven’t even been in it a month and there’s already cracks we’re noticing . Everyone that works for him says not to trust him, my husband and I called his bank to let them know how he was doing people considering they are loaning him lump sums of money, and all the had to say was, “this is not the first time we have heard this.” I don’t understand how in the world he is still in business. He’s a sorry excuse and I wish everyday I would have ran when we first started this and went somewhere else . He’s just wanting money, he tried telling us we owed him 1,800 dollars extra, we wouldn’t pay it and when it came to closing, he couldn’t add it in because there was no reason for it, he’s a crooked person and him and his whole crew DOES NOT deserve to be selling houses . They don’t care about how it looks, they just want their money, and you are just dollar signs to them, your opinion, hard work, and feelings do not matter to them ! I would not recommend them to ANYONE . Save yourself and do not buy from him because I sure wish we would not of .

I purchased a home a few years ago and as the years go by the worse it gets. I also had many cracks that had to be repaired the first month I moved in. After painting a wall I discovered that the walls wasnt sanded down. So there are many grooves in it now. The best part is recently I had to remove the wall yes the wall in my laundry room to get to my ac unit. Apparently it will never tear up or need a filter so its fine to just nail it inside the wall. How did it pass inspection? Only they know because I sure dont. I had to have yard redone and I had to pay for my own gravel or pay for the water tunnel that goes underneath the driveway because they had spent all the money and could only pay for one. But the one star comes from them giving me brown putty so I could cover up all the nail holes in the house. O n did I mention when they first brought it out it wasnt even the right color. My advice look but dont buy.

Do not buy from this company!! Ed sellers is the owner and puts up this in a good Christian story and how he’s raising his grandkids. We bought the patriot and he sent a crew in that doesn’t know what they are doing. The crew had a dog in my house and left pee and dog food. They are ruining my floors and my walls. They do not know how to put up molding and have it crooked. My house came with ripped up carpet in the bedroom. They have yet to fix that. I have asked for this crew to be removed and was told I didn’t have that right and that we needed to give them a chance when clearly after 2 months of this crew working they have nothing done. I have called the house manager and he has seen the house and agrees but Ed does not and will not allow for anything. Ed has not yet once been out to the house. He lies constantly one right after the other. He is rude to us now and will not answer our calls or call us back. I have sent email of pictures of the house and have even been up to show him and he refuses to look and says I know. Please do not buy from this place!! I do not want anyone else going through this!

We purchased The Wizard of Oz. Now we had been looking at this model when it was called The Notebook so it had been a while. It definately took longer than expected but the weather and the fact we were putting the modular in a basement had alot to do with it. The house was delivered on October 32 2018 and we moved in March 2019. We passed inspection on the first attempt, thank God! There were minor hiccups and Im sure that Mike regretted the fact I had his number but in the end we absolutely LOVE the house. Mike and I walked through the house together and I pointed out things that needed to be addressed. All but 2 issues were addressed before we signed, mainly due to contractor availability. But now we have all issue addressed and I feel confident that should issue arise they will be taken care of promptly. Thanks Ed and staff for going on this long process/journey with us. It was an emotional one.

I have waited a whole year to give my review of Competitive Housing just to be fair. We were originally told that the Patriot home we had chosen was already in production (Sept 2017) and the buyer had to back out because of loan issues. This was a selling point as we were ready to get rolling. We were originally told we would be in by Christmas. They did not even start on our lot until Dec, 23. From then on it was a battle to get things completed. Bob and Ed and the guy that did the trim out came for a walk thru when it was in and basically laughed at me and told me I would hate the house more if they had to fix it (wrinkles in linoleum, etc). I contacted the state several times and submitted paperwork to them to have documentation of all contact with Competitive Housing. Bob and Ed turned us over to Mike and would not even talk to us. Finally the manufacturer came out to fix issues and cut out Competitive Housing all together because of the hassle. They said that they have the same problem with every house of theirs Competitive Housing sells. I have never been so disgusted with a process of getting a home. We finally got into our home on April 1st, 2017. This was a whole 4 months after we were promised. The Patriot home is a very basic home at a cheap price, and the quality really shows after about 3-6 months. squeaky floors, molding peeling as it is only an overlay, drawers breaking multiple times. Manufacturer has been good to come fix, as in we are almost family now they have been out so much. Buyer beware... I do not recommend this dealership at all.

Absolutely unprofessional and incapable of running projects in a timely and productive manner. Rude owners who dont bother to drive and check on their sites.

House ordered in September of 2016. Our foundation, well, etc. was ready on 12/5/16. Our home was on their lot on 12/26/16. Weeks went by with no one communicating with us. Delivery scheduled the first week of January 2017 but we heard nothing. While in the hospital having my daughter we found out the employee handling our home had quit and no one bothered to update us. Finally in mid February 2017 a moving crew was sent to our home site in Haywood County in which we had to spend an entire day showing them possible routes. Their proposed route was turned down by the state and we were told that our home may not be able to make the trip to our land due to having nine foot ceilings. We had to press and get nasty and finally our home was delivered by a great crew from Buncombe County that had it done in less than a week. We then had to wait for the crew for over a month to come and finish the inside. Once done we had to demand a walk through as they wanted us to just email a list of the issues to them. We continued to demand a walk through but they did not want to work with our schedule as we had made the trip down and done the leg work for them the entire time. We worked with the grading crew, well company, etc. while this was supposed to all be coordinated by Mike. They implied that I must not trust my husband enough to do the walk through without me. He quickly let them know that we would both be doing the walk through as we are both the homeowners. Once this was done and the final inspection came, it failed. Mike assured us he would let us know the results and when we inquired we learned that he was on vacation. We are the ones that came to the house and found the failing grade from the inspector and then fixed everything ourselves and had it reinspected. This company was great at the beginning making a young family expecting their first child feel like they were making a great decision. We sold our old home quicker than expected and chose to go this route with an off frame modular as it was supposed to be quicker and they were confident that we would be in around the time my daughter was born (I was 4 months pregnant at the time the home was ordered). We finally closed on July 15th, 2017 when my daughter was 6 months old. I write this review as a buyer beware. We also had their bank calling us for updates as they were apparently already under scrutiny.

Run Run run away from this company. Nothing but problems with them. Ed the owner is so rude, does not take responsibility for his companys actions. We signed our contract May 2017 and They promised us to be in our home by September 2017. It is now April 2018 and were still not in our home. We had to do a bunch of things ourselves to try to speed up the process, its like we have to call them and tell them what to do. Theyre so so slow and irresponsible!! They claim theyre Christians and all but please dont believe a word they tell you.
