The bottom line here is that this shop was fantastic!After breaking down and spending a day waiting for a tow at Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP all day we finally got our Pilot to Performance Muffler & Auto just before they closed.Through some miracle, they were able to look at it first thing the next day and determined it was the fuel pump.Everyone there was super kind and knowledgeable. The lady that handled the front of the shop clearly knew her way around a car and was so helpful. While they had our fuel pump on hand, she had the foresight to order the whole assembly that morning should the pump alone not get us running again.We had 3 weeks worth of camping supplies in the car and they did not seem fussed that they had to remove a ton of it for us to access the fuel pump from the back seat. They also took care when removing things and it was greatly appreciated.I didnt catch the name of the guy that fixed her for us, but he and all the other guys in the shop were so great. If I lived in this area, this would be my go to shop.Thanks for your help. We are currently some 800 plus miles further on our trip thanks to you!!!

Literally talked to one of the guys over the phone and had a whole list of stuff for them to do, they said it was gonna be around 1,000. we had it all confirmed on what they were supposed to do. waited about 2 weeks for the appointment finally went today and thought they were gonna get everything done like we talked about over the phone and all they did was change my spark plugs and fix my lower control arm. I think they didn’t take me very seriously because I’m 19 I’m very disappointed won’t ever take it there again. What’s so disappointing is that I even talked to the owner himself about everything I needed done on the car very unprofessional and makes him look like a terrible owner wouldn’t recommend taking it there if your younger then 20 they won’t take you seriously at all. Also not sure why they couldn’t do the other services that didn’t require parts, Phil was very kind and helping didn’t see this coming at all, I wish they could of told me in time. Owner contacted me and tried hard to fix the problem after seeing my review that I left, i nicely declined and he updated his response. (The lady up front never told me what time my appointment was either), owner keeps on updating his response really trying to get at me very unprofessional once again. 🤦‍♂️

My girlfriend and I were traveling in her parent’s RV and had a small accident where the exhaust was torn away from frame. Phil has us back on the road in under a hour at a fraction of the cost at what you would pay other places. I can’t speak highly enough about how professional we were treated at his shop. Remember when you were little and were told to treat everyone how you want to be treated? Phil has never forgotten this. Best customer service I’ve experienced in a very long time.

My sons 1989 Ford Pickup developed an electrical problem. We live in Telluride, but no one here seemed interested in working on the vehicle. The staff at Performance quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem. They are a pleasure to work with, and I will use them in the future. Highly recommended.

Phil and his team came thru for us in a real pinch. We were traveling thru in our RV when we hit a rock in the Natl Park and it ripped the muffler off its attachment under the RV. The staff was super helpful, very friendly, hard working and ethical. He charged us an honest price and delivered service with a smile. So very happy with the guys at this shop. They really could have simply changed out the part that the code analyzer diagnosed, but helped make me aware of the bigger picture when they took it apart. After all was said, they decided it would be best not to install the part. I am currently trying to work with the dealer on this car, but if not I DEFINITELY will be bringing it back here and all my vehicles.

Great service! Phil always is helpful. They are local and the best! Always honest which is why I recommend them to anyone I know! I was getting some parts nearby when a truck broke down and the guy asked where to go for repairs. I sent him to Phil and he took great care of him!

Used them three times, once to maintain a wheelchair van, another time just to buy parts, and a third for rerouting my duramax exhaust. Great group of guys, very careful to make sure you get just what you want, and extremely cost conscious. Always a great job.A few years later, another few jobs. Most recently, they were swamped, gave me an appointment in a week. Dropped the car off a few days early, got a call the next day that they squeezed it in because they stayed after hours.AGAIN an exceptional job, at half the price, in 1/4 of the time. Really terrific.

I’ve been bringing my cars to Performance Muffler for 5 or 6 years. I don’t have a great knowledge base for cars so I’m careful about who I go to.I’ve heard that some places are likely to rip a woman off. I’ve never seen anything like that here. In fact, I’ve seen the opposite end of the spectrum.Another woman brought her car in because it was “making a noise.” The technician put it up on the lift and looked around. The only abnormality he could find was a rock in the wheelwell. They took the car for a drive and the noise was gone. When they told her what was wrong she blushed and stammered a little bit. They reassured her it was okay and she wasn’t an inconvenience at all. She smiled and asked how much it’d be. No charge. She was shocked. They still put time into helping her. She insisted on paying something. No. It was free because it was just a rock.She became a customer for life. That’s how a business should be run.I send everyone who needs a mechanic to Performance. There simply isn’t a better shop in town.

I will definitely be going back here. My muffler was rattling, and they fixed it in ten minutes. Phil was great. He explained exactly what caused it, and how to fix it myself in the future.

Gave this 1 star originally but the owner called me directly looking to fix the issue. I decided to change the rating after our interaction. The owner seems genuinely disturbed by my review and why I decided to change it. Most business owners wouldnt have cared.

They said they could change my brakes out on my landrover but they must not have known where the master cylinder was because when they collapsed the calipers the reservoir overflowed and I had brake fluid everywhere.
