So I got admit I was a little disappointed with the quality of the coffee I ordered a latte and it just wasn’t that good maybe I ordered the wrong Beverage from their menu but I must say the breakfast was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Sicilian scramble and it was amazing the bread is baked in house it was extremely good. The breakfast took a while to come out but they were busy and it was well worth the wait. The people sitting next to me were having a baked good commenting on how delicious it was which peaked my curiosity so when I went to pay the bill I asked for a recommendation on a baked good and was told to get the berry scone. I did and on the drive back to Los Angeles I decided to eat it and it was absolutely amazing. Definitely go to place for me next time I’m in Monterey. The staff was very friendly and accommodating

Breakfast burrito was good, packed, and was filling. Mocha coffee was also good. Not something over the top but pretty good. Bakery treats were good as well. Good spot to grab a quick bite while visiting Montereys downtown area just down the street.

After waiting for 20 minutes to be seated ( no big deal) we waited for about another 15 minutes for them to take our order and another 40 minutes for the food and it was not even that crowded. Didnt see our waiter again after the first ten minutes and even had to go to the counter to ask for more coffee and water...food was just ok but not worth the wait....UPDATE...the chef come out and did give us a sincere apology and was very professional in helping try to make things right. After talking b with her I understand they had a very crazy morning.

Very good food? Breakfast bowl and Basil frittata. Great filler..Didnt get to try the coffee due to power outage. 😫 next time.

The food here is awesome. I had a steamer for the first time and it was the best breakfast entire trip. We went back every morning of our trip for the breakfast 😋 this is definitely one of the best restaurants in Monterey.

We had breakfast on a Monday morning around 9 am. The restaurant was full with 1 parties ahead of us. We had about a 15 minute wait and was seated inside near the door. Serve was slow, not sure if short staffed. We were a group of 4 and the group ahead of us was a group of 3. They were seated about 3 minutes before us and received their food before we could order. All the tables around us had food and the place was pretty empty by the time our food arrived. Not sure why our food took so long, just eggs and pancakes nothing special. Maybe just an off day for them. The food was good. We will try the restaurant again in the future.

We had a great time. According to my wife these are the greatest gluten free pancakes shes ever had. My son believes this is the best gluten free waffle. They were very accomadating to everyones dietary needs in our large party. I ordered the smoked fish with a side of poached eggs, and it was fantastic!

Excellent food. We had breakfast here and the food was delicious and there were great menu choices. Since I cook a lot myself I know when ingredients are top quality and they are at Wild Plum. I spoke to the owner Pamela and she confirmed the coffee is from a small roaster the vegan butter is Mykono ($$) and everything is organic. I’m not sure how she keeps her prices as low as they are with top notch ingredients. I had a sun-dried tomato- goat cheese egg steamer - superb and my husband had a egg skillet dish. Both were great. My cappuccino was very good (great beans) and the pastries looked marvelous. This was my best cafe breakfast ever.

I don’t write many reviews but I almost feel obligated to write one for my experience at this cafe. The staff was pleasant but there was one lady who took on most the roles. We ordered orange juice and that was delicious. As far as food my boyfriend ordered a vegan scramble and i just got classic pancakes with eggs and bacon. It took nearly an hour to get our food, which was already getting cold. His vegan scramble was cold, gross, and he could not eat it. BUT most upsetting part is my food was inedible, My pancakes took up the whole plate so they threw my over easy eggs on top of it and they were popped all over my pancakes. I was disgusted at the fact that i had yolk all over my pancakes after the long wait. to top it all off I didn’t even get my bacon. Neither of us could eat our food, and the bill came out to nearly $50. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, guy Fieri definitely let me down.

I use to love this place. But today was a reality check. Waited for 1 hr. for a table, but they had other ideas who they wanted to serve. What I saw next warranted a visit from PHD Food and safety. The owner used her hands to touch a pancake from bottom of someones plate before serving it to a customer. This was just after using a tablet to take an order for another patron. That was enough for me . I will never eat there again. I will caution others.

The food is amazing! Portions are perfect and plenty, and the local sourcing and use of organic produce and free range meats gets a big thumbs up from me. The biscuits are phenomenal - a definite must try. The only criticism I would have is service was a little slow on refills, but I think everyone is hurting when it comes to staffing, so I cant fault them.

So many delicious options and combinations, It was hard to decide. Will definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu...

This place is Amazing! The food is delicious and well flavored. If youre vegan the tofu scramble taco with potatoes is so good. I wish this place was closer to my home. Hands down best place I have been so far in Monterey

This place is perfect for a sleepy little breakfast/brunch. There is a wide variety on the menu and plenty of vegetarian options. There is limited seating outdoors. Portions are pretty large in my opinion. Great food as long as you arent in a terrible hurry.

Wild plum - we were quoted a wait time of 45 minutes when we signed in for 2. Which was fine at 9:41 on a Sunday morning. We were waiting outside and started noticing people who signed in after us being seated. When we went in the main waiter said to us it was because they had been complaining. After being seated service was decent but only for a short time. My water went unfilled and my coffee never refreshed by 11:10. Not one table in the dining room had food on it…we finally got our food and it was yummy but still disappointing as I munched on an egg shell in my breakfast burrito. We honestly just wanted to get out of there and got the check as soon as we could a total time of 2 hours at the restaurant and less than 20 minutes with food on our table. One of the worst dining experiences my wife and I have ever had. I can’t tell if I’m sick to my stomach from the food or the terrible time.

Food is good but I wouldnt recommend eating here. Got coffee served cold, no communications between staff, three waiters came to us asking the same things. Had to ask for the check myself as nobody came. Total time 1.5 hrs from being seated to payed the check: eating 20 min + waiting 1 hr 10 min. They took off the drinks from the check as an apology.

We came here for breakfast and everything was amazing from the service, to the food options. The food here was very fresh and most of it was organic. There were seven of us and every single one of us was blown away with how good our food was (Even the ketchup was so good the whole family was raving about it)! I ordered an iced mocha, my husband ordered hot chocolate and my brother ordered chocolate milk. Each of those drinks were the best we had ever had hands down!! Everyone in my family agreed that whenever we come back to Monterey, this will be our breakfast spot!

Came here on a Sunday morning for breakfast and had to wait outside since the sign said to but no one took our name and another customer mentioned we had to go inside and put our name down on the list. Waited outside for 20 minutes since we were a group of 5. Came inside and immediately ordered. 20 minutes in and the waiter Victor said our food would be ready in 15 minutes time passed. Wasn’t until it was 45 minutes when we asked if our order was ready soon and he insisted it was going to be ready and we asked again 15 minutes later and he told us aggressively/rudely that our order was being made. We felt taken a back since we patiently waited and never once complained about the wait time. Overall poor customer service and we will not be coming back anytime soon. Also most of the online orders were ready before us so if you do go here just order online since it’s faster. But the food was not worth the hour long wait at all. Poor communication here.

The atmosphere of the place is very nice, but I feel as though the service was a bit lacking, and the wait times for the food were a bit too long for what we ended up getting. I waited almost an hour, and the grilled cheese was pretty undercooked, it wasn’t really warm and a good part of the cheese wasn’t even melted. The ingredients are quality and I have no doubt you guys are talented, but today was just a frustrating experience.

Wait was about 35min, but the person just dragged the extra chair, ;eaves it between tables, and didnt even pull it up close to our table for a child to seat...another 40 min wait for food to come. What we ordered were not 4-5 star standard considering rude customer service from the beginning, we did not get refill for water or coffee, very disappointing

Very Horrible Service. Ended up not eating at allI went there with my family. The waitress inside was polite and asked if we can take outside seating, which we happily agreedAfter being seated we noticed that menus were different. I asked the server why there was difference and he was so rude and kept on repeating they are same but different names and rudely asked order.I asked him please be patient and he ignored that and kept repeating what do you want order in a hurried tone.At that point it was no use to stay for breakfastThey need to understand customers will have questions and it takes a min to explain like one is old and one is new menu… something that makes sense rather keep repeating they are same and assume customer will understand.Not be in a rush because people come to this town to relax and not just eat

We ordered 3 eggs any style, southwest scramble and veggie omelette. The food was very tasty.Edited to update: they have horrible service. Placed order at 9.34 online. Was supposed to be ready at 9.54. was waiting for food at stored till 10.24 and the food still wasnt ready. Basically they didnt bother cooking ahead at all. I wouldnt bother going here unless you have unlimited time at hand. Definitely not coming back.

Wonderful tarts desserts coffee espresso sandwiches try to eat there for Sunday brunch twice month. The owner is fabulous friendly great quality food and employees are outstanding. European cafe feel inside and outside seating.

I ordered a salad online for lunch, and while what I got was incredibly fresh and delicious, it was sadly missing most of the ingredients listed. I had the Chipotle Chicken Caesar Salad, and when I got home and opened it up, I just had chicken, corn, and dressing on a bed of romaine lettuce. No kale, avocado, parmesan, or pico de gallo. Maybe something got lost in translation when I ordered it on the app, but the only specification I made was to put the dressing on the side (which they did) and there isn’t any place to add or remove ingredients.I’m not sure what happened, but it was pretty disappointing for $15. What I did have tasted great, so maybe it’s best to order in person than online. The person on the register did seem a bit distracted, so maybe they just didn’t realize what had happened. Hopefully, I’ll have better luck next time.

Fathers Day weekend isnt known to be a brunch weekend, but w Cali just opening back up, the Aquarium being open, and fold feeling OK about travel, it was BUSY. We got there early and had a bit of a wait, and the staff did an awesome job staying cool despite being short handed. Food was delicious and big portions; kids loved the strawberry shortcake waffle special and bfast burritos, the vegan wrap was a godsend for me, and Papa had the chorizo and eggs. Thanks for a great meal.

So sad, I wanted to love this place but I was sadly disappointed 1) with the service 2) with my food. It was my first time here and unfortunately I don’t think this place will be on the top of my list.Ordered a breakfast burrito to-go on the phone 15 minutes before I showed up. The lady who answered the phone introduced herself as Pamela whom I later learned was the owner. I felt like I was being rushed off the phone when I was still asking questions about the burrito.(*Friendly Tip: If you are in a rush even if you call well in advance thinking you can just pick up your order fast, I would think about giving yourself extra time to wait in line to pick up your order. There were only 2 people in front of me in line and I saw my burrito sitting on the counter ready for pick up but the 2 people in front of me took over 10+ minutes. No fault to the owner or staff, I understand. The minus two stars are for the lack of customer service & transparency in pricing & the quality of the burrito) As the guests in front of me exited the store I waited patiently to be called to the register because I could tell they were occupied at the moment but sadly no greeting or recognition from any of the 2 staff behind the counter + the owner. Not even a smile or “Hi, we’ll be right with you.”)Also, disappointed that this establishment would charge full price of $11+ for a burrito with just eggs and potatoes. I asked if there was anything they could add to the burrito since I was ordering the breakfast burrito w/ NO MEAT and NO Cheese. However the owner said no, anything I wanted to add would be extra. I wanted to get to work on time so I just said ok and thought I’d give it a try. Not a good idea!(*For future: If I knew I could order the breakfast burrito and sub the meat and cheese for some sort of veggie like spinach or bell peppers, maybe I’d be a regular customer 3 times a week just for when I need my usual breakfast burrito’s on the fly to work. I don’t know when a sprinkle of spinach or veggies became more expensive than meat & cheese put together?! I know avocado’s are out of the question but I know there are cheaper vegetable options. You would think if someone is not ordering meat or cheese in their burritos that they would have an option to sub for the 2 items they’re removing.) *Side note: just noticed on their website its $2 extra for meat so I guess $11+ is normal for an egg/potato burrito. Not really my style.They had a specials list on their chalkboard hanging on the wall & their breakfast burrito WITH MEAT was listed for $8.75 (see attached photo) That price is very fair & reasonable.Considering their special pricing in-store: I ordered the breakfast burrito with NO MEAT and NO CHEESE and they rang me up for $11+I brought this to the attention of the lady ringing me up at the cashier and she goes, “hmmm, you’re right that’s odd” and she proceeded to adjust the price. Customer service wasn’t bad, it just didn’t make me feel special enough to come back. Some things are understandable and excusable especially when places get super busy but they were not slammed. Customer service is everything to me and a simple greeting with eye contact and a “hello, we’ll be right with you” would have made a huge difference in my experience. That experience alone would be enough for me to excuse the bland burrito and come back to try something else on the menu but for now… I’m not that excited to return.

Worst treatment I ever got in a restaurant in the U.S.! We called before going there and the lady was very nice and kind, telling us that she will put our names down. She didn‘t say that we have to arrive within a specific timeframe. Once we arrived there (about 30 minutes after the call) we let the waiter know that we are on the list. Apparently he just crossed our name out a couple of minutes before but no ones name was crossed out after us. He yelled at us intensely, saying that we should have came earlier and that we have to put ourselves on the list again to wait another 45 minutes. After beeing treated like that we didn‘t even wanted to eat there anymore and left. He didn‘t even let us explain anything but just hurried away after yelling at us. Very disappointing and not recommendable experience especially for a so called „organic“ cafe which you would even more expect to be a place where humans treat each other kindly.

Nasty food and service, found cockroaches in our fruit bowl, never offered coffee refills,coffee was cold, manager got upset because we did not leave a tip he followed us outside the restaurant and threw the small change at us in front of customers that were eating in the patio, worst place and service ever, nasty attitude and food, no customer service at all. Next time Ill be sure to read reviews !!!!You dont want to know what happened. You are calling me a liar, and based on other reviews, anyone who says anything less than positive about your restaurant is a liar. Get off the computer and train your staff and clean that place up Karen.The first thing I did after visiting that digusting place was call the health department. Does that ring true? I am human and I understand that things like this can happen, but the way you and your staff handled it is unexcusible. What a sad excuse for a business. You were not there, I think its clear who is being dishonest here. I will not be contacting you, but Id be preparing for a visit from the health department if I were you.

My first experience at this cafe and the Potato Skillet was so good. I was also pleasantly surprised on how yummy the gluten-free pancakes were. Had a fun convo with the chef about them. We will absolutely go back next time we are in the area as it is a warm and fantastic environment.

What a joke. The waiter was in a rush and was very rude. The iced mocha was literally just chocolate milk. We waited over an hour for a grilled cheese and a club sandwich. Once we got our food, it was mushy and was absolutely not worth a 1 hour wait, let alone eating it in the first place. I’ve seen other reviews mentioning the waiter’s rudeness, and I’m curious how nothing has been done about it.

A FRESH breakfast. Not just another diner. They use good ingredients and take pride in their food. It was really a near perfect breakfast. I had a classic option, but there are lots of unique menu items too. Lots of people have said the service was slow, but we thought it was good. They did get slammed as we were about to leave though.

We had lunch here, and while the wait was about 30 minutes for our food, it was worth it! Amazing flavors, generous portions, super nice staff, I would definitely eat here again and highly recommend it.

Extremely helpful, friendly staff. Took the time with any questions we had and were patient with us as kids tend to be indecisive at times. Food was really good. Spouse got the mushroom chimichurri and I got the sunrise tacos. Stepped out real quick and when I got back inside, spouse almost finished the mushroom breakfast, it was so good. That thing was a good size also he said. The tacos were so good along with the purple potatoes. Cooked perfectly, soft in the inside and not crunchy, cut a little thick. Cinnamon sugar toast for child definitely had cinnamon sugar. Nice layer on top. This place is noted on my map.

Food was good but service was terrible. Waited outside for 10-15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us, we were never given menus- we had to take from another table. Asked for water three times before we actually got it and they never came back to check on us. Waited 20-30 minutes for the check after asking for it twice. Very disappointing experience overall.

Absolutely amazing food!! The owner uses fresh ingredients from local farmers... Homemade baked bread, tasty jam they made the day of my visit.. That food married well. Best tasting breakfast food Ive ever had... When I travel to Monterey, this place will be our regular... Prices great too... btw, the owner was absolutely adorable..

Super disorganized and rude. We placed a to go order so we wouldnt have to wait, which is usually the case. We got a call back to clarify the order. When we showed up it wasnt ready or correct...and it was written down (and correct)on their paper at the counter. The staff were running around telling us to wait outside and didnt allow us to explain were here for pickup. Then I was asked to come back in and pay for what was missing and I said, skip it just give us the food and we need to go. 5min later we got everything and I was finslly able to pay. It was a mess!

It was an awesome experience. Went there for breakfast on Thanksgiving. Great service, delicious food and drinks - the kids got super smooth hot chocolate, pastries (so called « basket of treats ») and we had the oatmeal and the parfait, and it was about right: perfect!Really recommend the place. Super nice staff too!

The man we are guessing who appeared to be the manager. Zero communication as we stood by the door without a greeting or direction. This was frustrating. When we had a chance to ask, we were given a defensive attitude and then basically ignored until we decided to walk out. A simple “we will be with you soon, we are a bit overwhelmed” goes a long way.

Not to mention I had to call three times in a row to get a person to answer they phone and she was rude and unhelpful anyway. Disappointing. We placed a takeaway order and the worker was rude and seemed uninterested in what he was doing. Our food was OK, but not what we ordered. Several of our items were not made to instructions and two of the entrees were short on meat.The food is very overpriced and not worth it. No one enjoyed their meal.

Saw this restaurant on DDD and decided to try them out while visiting Monterey! The was good and the older woman at the front was very polite. My only issue was that I requested my eggs be cooked soft and they were brown, I think the young lady that took my order misheard me.

Okay. This was a visit for takeout during the pandemic and while maybe it wasnt seamless in terms of filling the order (they forgot to pack the scone I paid for), the eggs and breakfast potatoes and the nearly left behind scone were delicious, even after cooling a bit below ideal. The scone was top shelf. Impressed!

Went here for a nice vegan breakfast and was definitely not blown away. While Im appreciative the menu had anything vegan, the tofu scramble was merely coarsely crumbled, lukewarm tofu cubes with soyrizo. They could totally make a killing if they just followed any sort of tofu scramble recipe. Potatoes were a bit underdone too but Im wondering if thats just their attempt at keeping up with the morning crowd. My mother had the eggs and said they were pretty good.

Went in to buy two coffees. The man who took the order was stressed out and quickly became rude. It took much longer than it had too… and the coffee I got really shouldn’t be called coffee, rather tea with coffee flavor.

My husband I stood in front of the register waiting to order takeout for over 15 minutes. While the servers stopped by the register several times, no one spoke to us or asked us if we needed anything. When I asked one of the servers if we can order takeout, he looked at us, gave us an up and down glance, and said were busy, youre going to have to wait in an irritated tone and walked passed us to attend to the table that sat down after we got there. The server attended the needs of all other customers and didnt even bother to come back to attend us. We were the only Asians in the restaurant and felt extremely discriminated and uncomfortable with the staff giving us side glances but not wanting to talk to us. After the type of response from the staff, we felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe, we left. We will not be going back.

The coffee underwhelming, but food wasn’t terrible. I hope they become more honest about their wait times - that would really solve most issues. It was a wonderful find one Sunday morning in Monterey. This is a beautiful hole in the wall. The sweet lady that runs and operates the wild plum is the lovely soul and the food shows in the food and service. Excellent cappuccinos, wonderful waffles with the best homemade syrup. The best breakfast burrito with what has got to be the best chorizo I ever had. Also when you think there is nothing else she has wonderful baked goods as well. I will be going here evertime Im in town. Thank you for a wonderful breakfast wonderful lady

I really love the food at Wild Plum Cafe- its always so fresh and delicious; but I am giving it 3 stars because of the lack of time management that it does not have. I am local and order here many, many times; but Im always reminded, every single time, that the wait for food is outrageous. I just ordered lunch today at 12:40 and at 1:40 I received a call from the delivery service that the Wild Plum was just now preparing my food but didnt even have the items I ordered; hopefully I can get something by 2:40 (2 hour wait). I plead with you, Wild Plum, that you work on your time management!

So we went here for breakfast today. Nice small little outdoor patio dining. Waitress and service was amazing, coffee was always topped off. Pancakes were good, syrup was too thin for my liking. The toast was amazing my wife has the omelette and she enjoyed it too. Nice spot for breakfast in Monterrey.

To me this is just me, kind of a let down. Thought it was going to be something more. But it’s not. Denny’s is good to.
