Everytime I visit Monterey, I stop here for coffee. I ordered a coffee and they made me an americano and was possibly the best americano Ive ever had. They have local art displayed on the walls and a variety of unique places to sit and study or chill with others. The ownership recently changed hands, but has maintained its quaint charm in the process.If you are looking for an off-the-beaten-path, non-national-chain-type of coffee shop, East Village Cafe is the place to be.

We were visiting Monterey for a week and stopped by this cozy shop. Ryan knew our order the second time we went. Great coffee and friendly staff. Will definitely visit again.

Really awesome coffee shop. I loved the decor so much and we had a delicious blended ice tea drink that was so refreshing. The man who took our order had a great energy. This coffee shop is a vibe for sure!

Great folks behind the counter and a large selection of items, including botanical sodas and a billion different pastries, cakes, sandwiches, and even veg and crab gimbap 🤩 Lots of different spaces to sit in and work or socialize.

So apparently East Village coffee lounge in downtown Monterey has been sold in new owners have taken establishment of the historical building the owners close down the business and caramel valley went to the coffee shop today met the new owners very nice the chocolate mocha was awesome it was piping hot. I did ask them the establishment was closed for two and a half three weeks while the new owners came in they have a limited menu right now I hope everyone gives them a try.

Went for open mic night while in town. Great atmosphere, cant wait to go back next time Im in town.

East Village Coffee has new owners and it is absolutely wonderful. Ryan is friendly and attentive and the outdoor patio is wonderful to sit on and read a book while enjoying a latte and a doughnut. The chai latte is one of the best I’ve ever had. This will be my new weekly stop for a treat! Service is great, drinks and sweets are delicious and prices are great. 10/10 recommended for the city of Monterey.

More coffeehouses should follow the East Village example: good coffee drinks, snacks both sweet and savory, bottle and draft beer for people who want that, several seating areas including a patio. Staff are chill, the music is diverse and interesting.

Good coffee and pastry selection. The various rooms to sit and read/do work make it quite unique. They also have events such as open mic night, which makes it a good neighborhood spot. Im not sure if its just me, but Wi-Fi rarely works here for me, and when it does its very spotty.

Anytime you see bike racers clustered at a coffee shop, you know youve found the right place! Great coffee, wonderful patio next to Bay Bikes shop. Very good pano is and baked good too.

Owners were sweet, girls at the counters were energetic and very helpful. We had chai and cappuccino . Banana bread was moist and yummy.
