I called a day earlier to confirm if they have a medical that I needed. They said they have it and will keep it for me to pick it up the second day. Then the second day comes, I drove about one hour to this place to get my medicine. However, they told me it’s sell out. Although the store looks good and the stuff there seems nice, but I really don’t know what I should say.
I bought some dry scallops. They are wonderful although they are not cheap. But it has high quality. I also bought some dry mum flowers for tea. Store employees are always friendly and helpful. Just dont be afraid to ask. The know a lot of Chinese medicines and what are good for your health.
Excellent assortment of Chinese herbal teas and exotic dried seafood for Chinese food ...like large Abalone and fine wines and liquors...you must go and shop there.
Great place to get loose leaf tea. Extensive selection. Huge variety of pre-packaged tea as well. Lots of unique food items and accessories. Easy to spend an hour exploring.
Cheats and scammers. They will overcharge you and refuse to fix it. Everything is marked up significantly and the receipt says they allow exchanges but refuse to do so. Multiple people have posted this on Yelp and even fraudulently charged.
This is the place to get all your Chinese herbs and delicacies. Wing Hop Fung is such a trustworthy brand for quality imports. They have a huge variety of Chinese goods and they import directly from sources in China that they’ve been doing business with for many, many years. WHF is such an established business in the market. It’s also family owned and operated.Their tea selection is my favorite part of the store. You’re allowed to open the tops off the glass jars to experience the aromas of the teas. If you want a sample, simply let the employees know. They may not all speak English, but they are friendly, and they know how to understand what you want. You can purchase teas in bulk, let the staff know about how much (quantity like quarter pound or cash value, either work) and they will weigh your tea on a scale. They have all sorts of Chinese, Japanese and Indian teas. Special blossoming flowers, a huge selection of Pu-Erhs, and a whole corner of the store is dedicated to herbs. These herbs are not your typical garden herbs. They carry Goji berries, all sorts of dried mushrooms, ginseng and medicinal roots. It’s like candy land for herb enthusiasts. On top of their enormous tea variety, they have a huge inventory of alcohol. Some bottles of cognac are the only variety available in the U.S. WHF carries select and exclusive liquors. It’s an impressive collection, and they often host wine/liquor/sake tasting events for you to sample their lineup.Get tea sets, incense, soaps and beauty products here too! The parking is free out front.
I love this place for Chinese teas. The selection is beyond imagination (including some organic Chinese teas) and they will brew fresh tea for you to try before you make a decision. However, Wing Hop Fung is not just a tea store. Its a very impress Chinese emporium. There are also Chinese herbs, snacks of all sorts, housewares plus a very impressive liquor department. You will spend lots of fun time here exploring everything. The staff here is well informed and helpful and parking is easy.
They mix good tea leaves and bad leaves together. I bought 4oz shifeng longjing and only 1/3 portion were actually good. There are definitely product defects. Listen they will not offer item exchange and be careful on your purchase.
The cashier didnt say anything to me. She didnt even tell me the total, so I looked at the screen for my total and I thought it was $10.24 so I gave her a quarter then she gave me a bunch of change so I looked at the receipt it was $10.44. The gentleman that packed my items was friendly and he thanked me. The lady packed my tea leaves was friendly too. Just the cashier wasnt too friendly
Lowest prices on Asian brand rice cookers and stainless steel water boilers. Prices are even lower than Amazon for stainless steel water boilers. Id purchased a Narita brand which lasted 8 years.
Nice oriental store, especially for so many kind of tea
The sales people r not friendly. Good varieties of herbs.
Great selection of herbal preparations.
Help you find great tea! Just gotta ask
I went to buy dried scallops, and mum flower tea per my sons request. Those sales ladies are very helpful and goods are with excellent quality.
This is the Mecca for people who need Chinese teas, herbs, and all the delicacies for Chinese cooking. Lot of nice tea sets, clay pot, pots and pans... Price is varied from dirt cheap to hundreds of dollars. They also carry wines, expensive liquors... Overall, its an interesting place to shop if you are looking for a good tea (they even have an area to let you sample the tea before purchase, you just have to ask).Would recommend this place.
Various kind of live sea food, fish crab, lobster, shrimps. Price are very reasonable and lower than other Asian markets. Free parking.
Good place for spirits. They have wide selections of wines and liquors.
Very friendly staff there to help you find what you need. even if you are completely clueless to tea.
Shopping at Wing Hop Fung reminds me of Shopping at Costco - I nearly always walk out with more than I intended to buy. And like Costco that can add up to more money. On the other hand, Wing Hop Fung is a cool place to wander in; the store is filled with everything from tea (an excellent selection), porcelain items, fine wines and liquors (Chinese and European) to home goods and more.
Good selection of teas. A bit expensive, but that comes with the quality
Love this place been coming here for many years
Wing hop Fung has an incredible selection of teas, herbs, and information. Great people and great service.
Excellent place for quality herbal products and teas. Plus other household items.
From tea to pottery, this is the place to go. Rice cookers, steamers and many other daily necessities can be found here. They also have a good selection of Manuka honey. Know your prices before buying, because some items are lower in other places although in general they have really good prices.
Great place to shop ginseng and Chinese products.
I like the convenience of shopping close to home and the very friendly and helpful staff! Bravo!
If you enjoy Chinese teas, this is a place to visit. I was surprised by the loose tea selection. I was able to choose from 3 different pearl jasmine teas and over 5 oolong and tie guanyin. As it is a custom in Chinese tea shops, you can taste any tea prior to purchase.
Its a hidden gem !! They sell high quality goods with very reasonable price. The store is very clean and organized. Only downside is the tight parking.
Great selection and the staff are always helpful if you need a recommendation.
Nice classy spot if your looking for tea any kind of chinese tea this place has it you can ask for samples of tea before buying.
We always bought tea leaves there, staffs are nice, prices are way better than Ten Ren.
This place is super cool. I went on a friends recommendation for a muscle ointment and found so much more! Dry goods, weird (but yummy) Asian snacks and candy, household goods, tea and tea sets, liquor...you have to experience it for yourself. I go at least once a month to stock up on stuff I cant get from other stores, or to pick up a unique gift for a friend.
This used to be a favorite place, especially when there was one downtown. They phased out a lot of my favorite items, now I cant get my favorite dishes anymore. They still have the best prices on bulk tea though.
Love their stuffs, So beneficial for health & body, especially the different kinds of Teas, Green Tea, & Herbal products.😘
Recently renovated emporium of Chinese traditional items. Great alcohol section focusing on very expensive wine, whiskey, and cognac. There its also wine tasting. Chinese herbs and medicine seems of good quality. Tea selection is probably the best around. Tea tasting in traditional set up.
Best produces and nice people.
I was so excited to visit and purchase a quality Zesha Chinese tea pot . I am an avid tea and had researched the type of clay pot to purchase. I looked forward to receiving good expertise in my selection. I drove aver 2 1/2 hours to the location. It was so disappointing. Although I spent over $100 on a tea pot and tea, I was treated rudely, rushed and followed closely, Being of African American descent, I wondered if this was the cause. It was difficult to communicate due to little English spoken. I felt unvalued as a customer. I have had wonderful engagements with Chinese owned businesses, but not here.
Its a hidden gem !! They sell high quality goods with very reasonable price. The store is very clean and organized. Only downside is the tight parking.
Barely any customers there on Sunday afternoon. A sales clerk followed me when I showing up @the wine section while the security guard closely alerted to make sure hv me to be guarded within his eye sight, which I was not comfortable at all. The clerk followed me for few min then took off when she assuming Im not a potential buyer?! But I purchased a bottle of wine after she ignored me.... Maybe shes not paid w/any sales commission?! Her loss.
Selling Chinese products with a lot of selections. Dont like how they set up their lines. I always got cut in by the people that doesnt know how to read, or know how to read but doesnt care. Sometimes is great to find parking here. They do shares the same parking lot with the 99 Ranch Market and 2 restaurants.
I Iove buying tea from here as well as other sweet treats. They have teas for all sorts of ailments as well as preferences. Several types of green tea and other things I have no clue about, but nonetheless a great tea buying experience. Staff is helpful.
This is a great market place for a variety of teas. When it was located in Los Angeles China Town I would go weekly to buy my teas.
Best place to get tea and tea equipment in LA. their prices is good.
A modern Chinese department store with lots of interesting items. Big selection of Chinese tea (in bulk) with sampling bar. Lots of Chinese ceramics, dried herbs, mushrooms, etc. Big parking lot is shared with other stores in the shopping center & crowded on the weekend.
Great place, but their teas are getting pricy even the low quality ones ...
Wing Hop Fung is aimed primarily at Asians. Workers there speak Chinese and possibly a bit of English. Overall, its pretty good. It also has public restrooms but a bit dirty.
Great tea
If you want to buy high-quality tea in LA be sure to visit this place. Huge variety of different teas from Asia. Not expensive.
Good stuff there. High quality with reasonable price. They have tough standard sorting out from so many choices.
Best tea place Ive ever been to, or ever seen. Legit Chinese green, white tea, black tea, etc. probably a million teas all reasonably priced
I love this place....I cant believe my friend and I drank tea that cost $1,300 a pound. It was good.
Chinese import store. Great place to get good tea.
Amazing assortment of teas, sundries, alcohol and goodies! Staff was very friendly and helpful!
Great place to buy tea, tea accessories, herbs, herb accessories and even healing ointments. They also have a huge selection of Alcohol. Its like a Chinese Bev Mo
Staff was not friendly or very helpful. And as usual most of them couldnt speak English or pretend that they didnt understand. And me as an African-American they cant follow me as if I was going to steal something.
Very unusual items from China and t he prices were insanely high!
Loving their twin birds brand jasmine tea !!!! the best !
There are a lot of things that I cannot find them from 99Ranch will be able to find here. Price is always reasonable. But the cashout lines are long most of the time.
Very pleasant place, the service is great, the prices are pretty good, the tea selection is amazing, and you can many medicinal things here too such as ginseng, dried sea cucumber, large mushrooms, bark, and more.
This isnt a grocery store. It is a Chinese herbal convenience store. They sell loose leaf teas, bagged teas, ginseng, rose buds, chrysanthemum flowers and buds, chamomile buds, lavendar, green tea powder, pu erh bricks and wheels, fruity herbal teas, uncooked peanuts, herbal candies, cookies, alcohol (hard liquor and wines), alcohol sets, tea pots (glass, red clay, porcelain, green clay and with or without built-in or removable strainers), tea cups (glass, clay, porcelain and with or without lids, strainers and spoons), tea strainers, tea prep tools, sake sets, tea trays, tea containers (double walled metal, porcelain, or glass), tea sets, porcelain bowls, porcelain plates, ladles, rice paddles, Japanese tea sets and tea prep kits, Japanese sake sets, chopsticks, chopstick rests, porcelain spoons, Chinese medicinal oils, dried fish air bladders, dried sea cucumbers, dried shitake mushrooms, dried Chinese herbs, dried white fungus, dried goji berries, canned abalone, rice cookers, water kettles, water pots, and lots of other knickknacks. Stock sometimes change a bit with the season and the holidays. Most of the items are available all year round. Loose leaf teas (herbal or caffeinated) can be purchased by weight. Price listed is usually by pound but teas can be purchased by ounces. Sales usually cap at 20% off on special holidays like Chinese New Year. Need to check with them when the sales are. Doesnt follow a specific calendar or US or Chinese holidays. There is a public bathroom in the store but a key is needed to enter. Need to ask the herbal medicine counter staff for the key. The counter is located in the back righthand side of the store.
Vety orderly n clean
Terrible customer service. Drove an hour to be treated badly. Never again.
Its the sanitized and mall-o-fied version of all of chinatowns various stores, and at 35x the price. I get the feeling that it also illuminates the growing income inequality in the Chinese community (and...well...in every community for that matter) but it is what it is. Theres probably nothing you can get here that you cant get somewhere else, so my first visit will probably be my last.
This seems to be the best place to buy a high quality Chinese tea. Finally, Ive found a place (almost gave up on this, honestly)
Great place to get authentic and exotic Chinese things.
Its good but I loved the one in China Town. Really miss it.
Love the prices and selection of the home appliances they have. Also for all you tea lovers, check out their tea cups!
Had great quality herbal products. My mom shops here all the time even though it takes her 2 hour total round trip to get here.
A wonderful assortment of teas. Great Chinese household items.
Lucky to find parking on a busy day. Great tea selection!
Good authentic and reputable Chinese goods, such as a good variety of teas, herbal supplements and household items.
Good selection of Chinese tea, herbs, dried shiitake mushrooms, and Chinese porcelain tea sets and electric rice cookers.
Loose leaf tea lovers and high-end alcoholics rejoice at Wing Hop Fung. Wine, champagne, cognac, scotch etc at really great prices. Really cant go wrong. They also carry lesser known and therefore unique bottles. Dom Perignon x Tadashi Yoshihiro for a blue labeled box? Now thats a unique gift.Downside is the parking. It shares a small lot with 99 Ranch Market and Capital Seafood restaurant, both super popular businesses, not to mention a smaller outpost of Kee Wah Bakery.Other than that, good place to browse and look at labels or get a free tasting of tea too
Great selection of tea and tea accessories. Definitely worth a visit
Love this store! They got everything you need 🇭🇰❤
So so customer service. A cashier was very nice to give me a plastic bag to save my time.
Some staff are helpful and friendly; some are not.
Place for Chinese herbal stuff, Chinese medicine, Hong Kong ointment, tea and wine and dried seafood. Not cheap but you get what you paid for.
Excellent selection of teas and herbs. Helpful staff.
Best tea, best service, my go to tea place. I go almost once every two months.
Great selections of Chinese teas and herbs, and the services is always excellent.
Sell traditional chinese medicine and a lot of chinese family accessories. Inclusing tea pots and alcohol.
One of the originals - Chinese goods & materials at a reasonable price. a lot of Chinese people buying stuff here so you know it is legit.
Very good selection of wine, Asian and herbal products.
Terrific store, most helpful with tea. Thank you
Gourmet Chinese alcoholic beverages; premium teas; high grade kitchen staples; and some appliances. There used to be a Wing Hop Fung in Chinatown near DTLA, but sadly they closed that one so I have to travel further to this one. Shares a parking lot with 99 Ranch and a few eateries.
Cashier was rude!
Could improve customer service for English Speakers.
Nice
Herbalist is a rip off. 15 dollars for a common pack of meds. 8 dollars in SF Bay area. Becarful.
Good quality birds nest.
Refund waits too long
