My wife and I had to get a bunch of documents notarized and then sent, with witnesses. Steven, Aaron and Peter were awesome. Super helpful, knew the process and had everything ready for us. Pricing was reasonable too, especially compared to a law firm
I rarely have the time to leave a review but I couldnt wait to get to the car to review this business. Its the WORST ups store in the world. I met Aaron today who started by informing me I had to buy a box because my package was wrapped. I said I already have a box underneath and dont mind removing the wrapping. Then he said my cardboard box needs to be the brown one they sell. I refused and replied my box is stronger than what they have and I ship weekly in these boxes and Im happy to give it to the driver myself as he claimed his driver wont accept it. Then I told him I already paid for a label which says to scan it at an UPS store to be printed. He refused and replied that if they print the label, their driver has to take it and he wouldnt accept it because its not a brown box. I have now shipped at another location in Clifton. Do not bother going to this store.
I have used the store a handful of times, and always had great service and a positive experience. Today was no exception even though the situation was different. I was getting a quote for shipping a special object. The attendant was careful and knew it was valuable, or rather a priceless item. He was honest from the beginning, and while he did provide a quote, he was honest in saying his service is not the best way to send the item. In an era where it is all about the money, I so appreciate the honesty and frankness. To me, that is true customer service. I have been a customer, and will gladly continue so.
The WORST UPS store I’ve ever been to. Was in here for 15 minutes waiting for the printer to mail one package. They close at 4:00, 3:55 the computer shuts down as we’re about to use it and the guy says “sorry we have things to do please leave.” I said you can’t let us print we’ve been waiting you’re not even technically closed yet? Asian man, extremely unfriendly. I’ve never experienced anything like this. I will never go back to this store. Unreal.
Employee would not let us print 10 minutes from close. I worked at a ups store for some time and know that he could have very well helped me. Signed the user out of the session in front of us and shrugged when it would not load a new session. Just walked away from us. Really upsetting experience, thought people here were more accountable than that
The kids that’s working in there are trash. They don’t know what they’re doing. Can’t even do simple tasks of doing Amazon return. Now I’m stuck with my item because UPS shipped it back to me and I was confused why and then found out the kids that rang me up didn’t return it properly. They’re also rude.
WORST STORE and experience possible! Save yourself the agony. I had to get completely out of character on an employee there on Monday who was condescending and down right rude merely because I asked for a sleeve for my pre printed label and asked for a tracking receipt. Based on below comments (several) this is a trend with them so I’ll be sure to contact UPS headquarters about this since they may not be aware. I wrote a compliant to the store manager who didn’t even take the time to respond. I will take my business elsewhere.
This is second time the two ladys at the store were so rude. I have shipped 100 packages, one was damaged, so had to file a claim, when I came & shipped a package, she told me you filed once a claim, you no longer covered if package is damaged and was looking for argument. Real rude people. I could give them -1 if I could. Never going back again, thought I give them a chance, so why ask how much insurance you need if you dont want to deal woth one day damage claim. Zero customer service.
Extremely bad service. Very disrespectful reply when asking them questions.
I had a very pleasant experience here with Randall (sorry - not sure of the spelling) who helped me pack and ship a collectible item with a super pleasant attitude. :) Would almost say the experience made my week!
Despite the store being very busy after the holidays, Brandon was extremely helpful and patient as he assisted me with mailing several packages.
I have nothing but good things to say about this UPS location. The staff is always helpful and friendly. I was there today and there was a HORRIBLE customer yelling at the workers for something that was HER problem! They handled it calmly and professionally. I of course, had to say something to stand up for them. Anyway, 2 thumbs up for this location. PS. This is just a daily reminder to be a nice person. Thank you.
If I could give a review of -5 star, I would in a heartbeat! The owner, which is normally there in the mornings/afternoons, is absolutely disgusting towards African Americans. I have witnessed him speaking to his staff extremely rude, hence the lack of retention. He is even worse with the customers of African American descent. I have went to this location about a hand full of times and each time is a different experience, all negative! The last visit, he refused to provide a tracking receipt, stating he owns this store he is not providing a receipt.Something so simple causes such hate in the community. Save yourself the agony and don’t go there supporting such treatment. I will continue to travel to the West Orange location on Eagle Rock.
Went to drop off an amazon return. Box was open. They said they cannot take the package without it being sealed for liability purposes. This wasn’t the first item I returned for amazon at a ups store. I asked if they could tape it for me. He pointed to shelf where they sell packaging tapes. Instead of just giving me a foot of take he made me buy the whole roll. How cheap and petty you have to be. Will never go there again.
I’m giving this location 3 stars because i’ve had great & smooth experiences at this location up until today. I want to acknowledge that. However, I did NOT like how the manager (I believe) was speaking to his employee after he asked him to double check his work to see if I was possibly being over charged for a $20 envelope for two cards. This older man did not even ATTEMPT to look at the screen to help this young man - who was trying to do his very best to accommodate me AND get me the lowest shipping rate possible.. for TWO CARDS. By the end of the short discussion, the issue was no longer about the money for me.. it was his attitude & lack of customer service. I politely left. I’m not sure if i’ll use this location again in the future. That didn’t sit well with me.
I don’t recommend this place at all. I went there for drop off, and I already have prepaid label on it. The manager-Peter said he doesn’t accept my packages because I have prepaid label on my package. He said he only takes it if I pay the shipping. Of course, I don’t want to pay it again so I called the UPS customer service for complaints. Worst experience ever. Never going there again.
Was a bit taken aback about seeing such bad reviews and I have only had really great customer service here. The times I have been, I went bc I was shipping art and needed the pieces to be packed with extra materials/care/insurance. Have only worked with 2 different young guys but they were both super friendly, helpful and quick to get what needed to be done.
I have had a box here for about 8 years and its been great! Chris always remembers me even though I dont come in more than 1x per month. I feel the service is great. Great location too!
I would not advise going to this particular store. The guy who works there (definitely not a manager but works the cash register?) has zero care / attention to detail / poor customer service.
Do yourself a favor and go to the UPS store in West Orange. They are consistently a joy to work with, they appreciate your business and the staff has been there for several years and are a delight.
Would give it a zero if I could! This store recently lost our daughters boxes that we shipped to her in college. They acknowledge that the 2 boxes were received and scanned by them but could not account for their whereabouts. The big surprise in all of this was interacting with this owner (Peter) and his staff. We were hung up on while waiting to speak with the owner. We called back and then finally did speak to him. He told us to leave him alone and said that he was not responsible for the packages after they were scanned. We contacted UPS corporate and are awaiting action on their part. Do yourselves a huge favor and go elsewhere. If you care about what you are shipping, this is not the place to do business. I wish we would have read these reviews before entrusting our items to this location. What a poor businessman this individual is.
I had a great experience here! I had 3 HUGE rugs to ship, and none of the staff batted an eye. They were helpful and courteous, and even helped me carry the rugs. It was much appreciated!
Employees are always pleasant and I can get in and out quickly. Its my go-to store and I am so happy to have them!
Bad customer service. I have watched the owner be extremely rude to a woman who accidentally came in the wrong entrance. He wouldn’t service her at all and told her to leave. They don’t lift a finger for any customer nor do they take care of customers. I try to always avoid this location and go to West Orange.
I have been a customer for five years and find the staff patient, courteous, and helpful. They handle a great deal of business and I have never seen or heard of the folks here being rude. Yes, if you ask them to provide materials and handle your shipment, its extra. Theyre a business. You can open your own UPS account print and pack and drop if off there if you dont want the extra charge. I am a business owner and very satisfied customer.
Very bad experience with the guy behind the counter shouting his head off at me explaining that a drop-off package receipt is not a receipt and rather a tracking number. He went out of his way to state this and sarcastically replied to everything I said. He told me that calling it a receipt was a subjective way to learn. Very condescending. Despite the slip literally having the word receipt printed on it all over. Worst ever.
I moved to the neighborhood 4 years ago and have always had great customer service at this store so maybe a one star isn’t fair for my overall experience. But today, I was “serviced” by the manager, Peter (who I’ve never seen before). He was so rude that I had to grab my boxes and leave. I am not someone who expects rudeness from others, so I was initially confused by the hostility but eventually enraged. I’m bummed because this is my neighborhood store and it’s so convenient, but I really don’t want to give this guy my money.
The staff at this UPS store are always friendly and helpful. I had my passport photos done there and they helped me with my passport renewal application. I have found it to be a very convenient place to get documents notarized. And of course, sending packages from the store is very easy. They also let me bring my dog in with me because they have a pet friendly policy. :) Overall I am pretty happy with the store and glad its there.
I visit ups stores daily. This location Grudgingly denying every request from printing to sticker for label. Customer service =0Help wanted sign indeed.
Been a customer for years. Lately it’s been really poor customer service, they are becoming usps in how the nickel and dime customers. I would drive a longer distance just to use this ups in particular and I used to feel taken care of and now I feel like they don’t care about their customers. It’s too bad. Will find a new shipping option.
AVOID THIS LOCATION. The guys at THIS UPS Store are shysters. Will NOT be dealing with them any more - will go to West Orange instead. Two people working here on Saturday afternoon, 7/15/17: They tried to sell me a re-wrap and extra packing for two perfectly fine, prepaid, well-packed, manufacturers return envelopes. When I declined, they refused to ship them. I drove to West Orange and they pleasantly took the packages.
Thank you to Brendon at this store for being kind and professional. I was having a really rough morning and forgot a couple of things with my package and he was kind enough to help me anyway. Thank you!
Went to do a simple package drop-off and had to park around back due to road work in front. Approached the back entrance (which to be fair, isnt intended for customers). However, the manager saw me with three large boxes, the door was wide open, and he still required me to walk all the way around the plaza to enter the other side (not a short walk). I then dropped one of the unwieldy boxes trying to get through the front door. Given that it was literally freezing outside, it was all the more annoying.Im well aware that he was under no obligation to allow me to use the convenient entrance, but common courtesy and decency would dictate being reasonable when someone has an armful of large packages and its cold as heck outside.Ill be going elsewhere in the future.
I looked it up and it says it opens at 8:00 am on Saturdays. I just came back at 8:50 and the store sign says they open at 10:00. They should fix the schedule so customers do not show up with big packages and find the store is closed.
I have been using this UPS office in Montclair for over ten years. They are dependable, honest, cordial and very, very busy. They service a large volume of people. The young people that work there are very competent and if they know you, they always speak when they see you, unless otherwise engaged. When I started going there, a young man named Leslie was the manager. He always had a smile and was a terrific manager and customer service representative. I do think he set the tone or the young manager and staff who followed. The current staff are great. So get to know the staff and the owner Peter and his wife so they so they will know you. Be patient and smile. In my experience, if you give a smile, .you will get a smile. I wrote this 4 years ago and I still fee the same way. They are great.Kind Regards,Jeree Wade.
Helpful and pleasant!
I parked in the back parking lot and had a big long box and a small box so I didnt see the sign that I couldnt use the door when he told me I couldnt go through that door I politely said okay Im sorry and he goes theres a sign right there and I need to go around with a rude voice so I told him dont you ever talk to me that way again Im a customer I think he got the point he needs to show a little bit more customer service.
You can just expect rudeness of the owner when you call this facility. The owner is not helpful when you ask questions at all and just plain rude, I would stay away from here
Was rude and said we needed to tape up a new package to ship to Amazon. For some reason, didn’t accept the prepacked item with the scan code. We had to buy tape, charged us $9 for a cheap little roll. Like a 6 pack at Costco is about $10 bucks. At least double the price, maybe charge like $5 dollars. He charged Beverly Hills prices. Didn’t know Rodeo Drive was in Montclair off of Watchung Ave.
Worst customer service experience with the manager, Peter. please support another location. he only revealed he was the owner once i requested to speak to the owner. its 30 degrees out and google maps has lead me to the back entrance, ive unstrapped my 5 mo daughter and notice the sign says not customer entrance. i look through the glass and peter ignores while his staff wildly gesture for me to go around. turns out around is walking the circumference of the entire lumpy lot. there is NO SIGNAGE INDICATING WHICH WAY TO GO, NO SIGN APOLOGIZING FOR INCONVENIENCE.I call to request that they simply draw an arrow on the sign and Peter proceeds to shout over me saying that i am the 1st customer to complain about this (really?!). he keeps repeating that he cannot let me in that way which WAS NOT MY POINT, my point was TO GO THE EXTRA INCH AND DRAW A FRIGGIN ARROW DUDE.It was a total debacle, The owner has no empathy and no understanding of what customer service means (hint* it doesnt mean arguing with a potential client while their baby is crying in the background. it means LISTENING and FIXING the problem to the best of your ability) again, please support another location
Tried to ship a box at this location but they refused to take it, claiming that they had to repack the contents themselves. Nonsense. We then went to the UPS store in Clifton and shipped the same package, no problem
The owner peter is incredibly rude. The other employees are all nice.
Ive been good night to this UPS store for 7 years. Great staff!!!
Their hours online don’t correctly reflect the hours the store is open
I could not have had WORSE treatment at this UPS franchise store, by the owner Peter, no less. I walk in with paper document and a pre-printed UPS label; I also had a trunk to ship still in the car. Peter saw that I had a no charge shipment to send, and he said Ill take it for you. When I asked to put the papers in the envelop myself or see them sealed inside, he developed an attitude and berated me for making that request. He then told me to take my business elsewhere and said he doesnt need customers like me. I suggested in a strong tone that his problem was he doesnt deliver customer service. So, I went to the UPS Customer Center in Newark on Gould Avenue, and had excellent UPS service (and shipped the trunk for $79.44 which must be $10 - $15 of lost margin to Peter).Funny thing was that when I called Peter back to ask why he acted like he did, he said it wasnt the pre-printed free shipping - it was that he thought I didnt trust him. I never said or implied such a thing; I get it, but even the US Post Office asks for customers to seal their own envelopes.Get a grip, Peter; but Im glad for you that you can afford to fire customers.
Unfortunately, when you need an actual UPS store, this is the closest one for Montclair residents.
Do not go here, rude and snappy treatment. go to clifton, much nicer.
Been a number of times if the last year, quick and courteous
All the one star reviews are correct - the staff is rude and unhelpful, and it is a wonder they stay in business.
Other reviews are accurate. The people who work here are terrible and rude.
If you need to print, find a FedEx, do not go here. Charges$0.99/minute while you try to upload what you need to print. Cant just email it to UPS like you can at FedEx, and staff is not helpful.
I needed a little tape to seal two boxes so he made me buy a $5 roll of packing tape. I left the tape dispenser there and asked that he leave it for the next customer in my situation. So...be sure to ask for it if you need some!
The staff is great but the hours listed here are wrong! its open 9-3 Monday-friday
Absolutely nothing. I was overcharged and did not realize it until I left the location.
I had some question about shipping for my Shopify store. The guy was so rude I left.
Like the others, horrible customer service.
Rediculous prices drive elsewhere
Worst people
Always helpful
Horrible service
