I’ve been living in Montclair for 1-3 years now and I found out about this place not too long ago. It’s this really nice gift shop and I’m surprised this place doesn’t get enough good ratings. It was definitely worth my time and anyone who sees this review should go and check it out.

I shop at the store once or twice a year and always enjoy the merchandise and often find gifts.Unfortunately the staff or the owners Im not sure who works in the store are consistently rude and condescending.They barely even say thank you when you make a purchase. I will make an effort not to go back.

I purchased several New Jersey Shore beach towels at Jafa Jems recently. The store is filled with beautiful merchandise, it is immaculately clean, and I was treated very graciously by the staff. I had a great experience and would absolutely return for future purchases.

Every time we’re in Montclair my friend and I go to this store for the exquisite visual treats and decor ideas that it offers. We usually treat ourselves to an item or two, but the experience of wandering through the store is reward enough. Such imagination and inspiration are priceless!

Lots of reviews are commenting on the customer service. I barely interacted with the sales staff so I cant give that perspective. What I can say is that the items in the store are absolutely beautiful. Whether youre looking for a gift or trying to find new decor for your own home, this store will serve you well.

In the past I have spent a lot of money in this store. After my experience today I would return every single purchase If I could. After raving about the store to my husband, we visited the store along with the rest of our family! I was prepared to spend a couple hundred dollars on a wooden bookshelf I had just convinced my husband to buy... I was so disappointed after our visit! I have never in my life been more uncomfortable! The woman at the desk neither greeted us nor responded to me when I walked in saying Hello! She followed my 11 year old around, staring her down as if she were gonna destroy the whole place. My 11yo was so fascinated with all the different items in the store & it broke my heart that I had to pull her away because of how unwelcome she was! I strongly urge you not to give this store your business. They neither value nor appreciate their loyal customers... Especially if you have children!!!

I’ve been a long time customer at Jafajems and have purchased everything from furniture to jewelry there. The store is a visual feast. They are on the more expensive side but hopefully prices are commensurate with the merchandise they carry. They have the most sumptuous decor pillows (and other items) in town and a lovely array of home decor, garments, jewelry, tabletop, etc. While I don’t discount other’s experiences, I haven’t had a problem with staff service.

Pretty store but it someone gives you a gift from here and you dont like it, you have 10 days from purchase to get it back for store credit, even though the item we wanted to return was still featured in their store window. Good luck with that.

Horrible sales person charged me because something slipped out of my hands and broke claiming that the store had no insurance for breakage. No wonder I was the only person in the store. I purchased a few things that I needed. The 37.50 charge was less than 10 percent of the sale. Really? They needed that 10 percent. Beware!

Terrible customer service and general bad attitude. I bought an expensive pillow from this store and within 2 months it had ripped along the seam. It had not been used excessively and for the price I paid I would expect it to last more than 2 months!!!. I took it in to show the owner and her only suggestion was to take it to a tailor to be mended!! No apology, no compensation and definitely no return or exchange was offered and her attitude was horrible! i would discourage anyone from shopping here. I will not be patronizing this store again.

Drove in from Brooklyn to look for pillows, but met with sullen un-accommodating service lady. Read other reviews to see if I was mistaken. Amazed to see that others had similar negative experiences. What is the problem here? Wont back again!

I went looking for a cat studio kitchen towel as a gift. It was saved because it takes a long time for the shipping fee to arrive high on the net. The shops products were wonderful and there were many high-class items. Therefore, if you bring a child with you, you will get a very unpleasant face, and you will be followed and be careful. I urged the children not to touch it as much as possible, but if I touch it even a little, it will come to be sarcastic. I understand that the word-of-mouth evaluation is low, perhaps because something was broken or something I didnt like in the past. He just put in a cute thin paper, probably because he thought it was a gift. I appreciate that you have a high level of professionalism, but if you have a bad attitude, no one will be able to approach you.
