Great eats and coffee right in the heart of Montclair Center! We stopped in Sweet Kitchen for a (oat) Flat White and Chai Latté paired with Sunny Avocado Croissants.Lattes were artisan and tasty and the sandwiches were amazing! Staff was super helpful and it was great to dine outdoors directly by the iconic Rooster mural which has been on the corner of Park Street for years.

Very cute cafe for a light breakfast or a nice coffee date. Food was very flavorful. My friends and I really enjoyed the food and was very fulfilling. Proportions are reasonable. The croissant looks small but it isn’t. Employees are Turkish and they were all sweet people I enjoyed my time here. Bon appetite.

This place is all around awesome! First time there. The food was so delicious 👍🏼. My cousin left her glasses there and we called later that evening and Joy helped us out. This is what I call customer service! In this day in age this is a lost art. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Aden at Sweet Kitchen is a lifesaver. During the flash floods caused by the remnants of hurricane Ida, Aden kept his doors open well beyond closing time to shelter those in need. He is a hospitable individual who went above and beyond to ensure the folks impacted by the storm had a dry place to stay and something warm to drink. He shared towels to dry off and even gave his personal clothing to stay warm. His kindness and generosity are greatly appreciated.

It was my mom’s birthday and I wanted to do something nice for her. I live in Virginia so I called Sweet Kitchen to ask if they would deliver a little birthday box for me. Sue, the owner, was so nice and so accommodating. I changed my mind a couple times about what pastries I want and she was so patient and kind about it. My mom received the box and said everything tasted delicious. Thank you, Sue!!!

When to brunch with my friend and the food was good! Service was a little crazy but it was a busy Saturday and there was only one server so I’m not complaining! Kudos to her for being able to do her job and do it well!

Nice place for comfort food and smoothies. I had a Green Goddess smoothie and it was fresh a new delicious! Friendly, efficient service and large windows make this a lovely place to enjoy a meal.

Cute decoration, menu seems sweet and savory. However, they put too much powder sugar and nutella on my order, which for me, ruined the flavor of the crêpe. Besides, I aalso experience an uncomfortable moment while paying, as someone else mentioned in a previous review.

Excellent brunch and a great smoothie too! We were offered a sample of this smoothie and had to get one! Wonderful service and atmosphere. Two thumbs up!

I love this place! Before I even get to the food I have to say the staff is amazing and always so bright and positive! The dirty Chai is so good! The pastrami croissantwich is perfect and always made just the way I want it. You have to come here!

You are in service but business there is no service. We ordered 3 ice teas, and 3 pieces of cake paid $35 something. And waited and waited. Remind them about the ice tea. 5 girls behind the counter and no service. Dirty floor. We will Never go back there.

Sweet Kitchen not only has delicious desserts but the lunch is amazing too. I always get the spinach salad with grilled chicken- delicious! Super cute space with really great service! Recommend highly :)

Staff was super friendly and helpful with all of the desserts to choose from. The espresso was excellent. So many different desserts to choose from, but you cannot make a bad choice here. Went here for a sweet dessert on my birthday and they even brought my dessert out with a candle. Nice touch. I will be going back soon.

This place is seriously so cute!!! The food is to die for, service is amazing ( all the girls are so sweet and the owner is so hospitable ). The vibe of the place is also so calming and relaxing. There are a few chain coffee shops, but individual places are difficult to find. Sweet Kitchen is more than a coffee shop, but the coffee should be mentioned because it is so good. Everything in this place is so good. Very clean, friendly atmosphere. I tried a numerous amount of things like breakfast and bowls and wasn’t disappointed in anything.

One of my favorite brunch spots! No matter what I order it always comes out great. They take pride in the dishes and presentation matters dearly. The pancakes are light and fluffy and the avocado toast..OMG!!! Just get it!!!

I go here almost twice a week and everything I have ever ordered was the best of the best! Every sandwich, breakfast item and dessert are top notch! You will see the owner Matt come out from the kitchen to make sure you are 100% satisfied. You can tell he is passionate about his craft and it comes through in the details!

The ambiance is great and I love the fact that it’s black owned but the service was badThey need to work on customer service, the waiter took our order and never checked back on us . The cornbread was hard and cold .. we sat for almost a hour to wait for pancakes and eggs .. when I stopped the waiter she said 15-20 mins to make pancake .. never herd that in history!!The place was very empty and and people came in and left for that exact reasonI only gave one star because the place is well put together and clean .. but the staff and service needs improvement.. for a upcoming place this is very important if u can’t serve one table under a hour what will y’all do in a full house case ..I’ll give them a try again some other timePLACE HAS POTENTIAL

Great coffee and pastries ..just one thing ..If you make one person put a mask on ..please tell everyone else to as well .. I came in with no mask and was told to put one on (no problem I went to my car to put one on) 5 minutes later a line forms with multiple persons with no mask. The same lady who told me to go get mine takes everyones order without batting an eye. Moral of the story please treat every customer the same.

I have been to other bakeries, and this is the best by far. They’ve got birthday cakes, cupcakes, deserts and cookies- the chocolate hazelnut is my fav :) It’s all fresh and delicious. The service is outstanding and the owners are great people. They make you feel like family :)

I ate here on a Saturday morning during brunch time. Ive been wanting to come here for months and finally was able to make it! The place was busy, but not packed when we arrived. Service was good. You place your order at the counter and then your food is brought to you. We started with a cinnamon roll which was phenomenal. I heard someone say that they only have cinnamon rolls on the weekend so definitely take advantage of that. This cinnamon roll was kind of a cross between a traditional cinnamon roll and a croissant. Very different and delicious! I went with the brioche grilled cheese with bacon and my girlfriend ordered the Trojan sandwich. Both meals were delicious,. The bacon was thick cut and possibly the best part of the entire grilled cheese. The brioche had a crunch to the outside but remained very soft inside. Nicely done. My girlfriend enjoyed her sandwich. There was quite a bit of spinach on it, but she said it was very good. I had a coffee to drink and she had a chai. The coffee was not spectacular, but her chai was delicious. Id rank it as one of the better chais that I have had! We didnt have any of the desserts, but they looked incredible in the display case. I am definitely intrigued to come back and try some other things on the menu!

I come here at least once a week. Its my go to place in Montclair for a great cup of coffee. I recommend their dirty chai and a sweet potato cheesecake (yea, sweet potato, trust me).

I was happily charged with finding a specific (Black Forest) flavor of cake for a birthday, and could find no bakery in Montclair that would prepare one ... except for Sweet Kitchen. Excellent customer service and very accommodating, surpassed only by the deliciousness of the cake!

This place was amazing. The food was great and the people were wonderful. We had dinner somewhere near by and strolled in for dessert. The people turned out to be wonderful and gave recommendations on what to try and talked about what each dessert was. We ordered dessert and sat down with our coffee. They have these soft pillows on the seat ware by the window. It was just very relaxing and the view was great. The service was great, they asked if were doing good but also gave us time to ourselves. Overall I give it a 10 out of 10.

I love the atmosphere at Sweet Kitchen. I was looking up places that serve avocado toast and I thought I’d try them out. The avo toast stands out from others because of the bread. Its actually soft and flavorful. The first bite was such a treat.I also ordered hashbrowns and turkey bacon which I wasn’t so much a fan but moreso on how I prefer both items to be made. Hash was pretty bland and could’ve been seasoned.Other than that the space and the employees there were amazing. Will definitely recommend to others and plan to come back for that awesome toast 😋

$6 for one small orange juice, $6 for 16 oz of infused water adds up to $13 for two drinks.. thats a lot and there was no price tags on the beverages for you to know beforehand

Drove 20 minutes here to try the pastries. Sadly, there were what looked like fruit flies. Not as disgusting as normal flies i guess. Told the cashier about it, she apologised and threw the affected one away. The flies migrated to the nearest pastry. Needless to say i did not try it. Tried the carrot cake, which was amazing, and those were in a glass display shelf. But i wont be returning since they have got to be sitting outside at one point when they were being made.

Stopped in downtown Montclair to visit another store and my husband and I decided to have lunch out at this cute little corner cafe. It did not disappoint. We shared the Sweet Signature Salad which consisted of fresh kale, dried cranberries, quinoa and goat cheese as well as the turkey melt on brioche. It was perfect and delicious! I highly recommend!

Got some macarons and a slice of carrot cake. The carrot cake was dry and nothing special, and it cost $6.50 which I didnt know till they rang it up. The macaroons were good but they told me a dollar each and charged over $2 each. This place might be good otherwise but our experience was not great.

I love this place and I am so happy it opened again post pandemic. I live in the neighborhood and I would say I practically live here. The coffee is great, there is a great selection of desserts, smoothies and juices and the food overall is fantastic - very much comfort food. I especially love the spinach pie, its addictive! The staff is great and super accommodating/helpful. I am in grad school and I am always here using the wifi and they never make me feel uncomfortable, even if I just order coffee and dessert and sit for a couple of hours. Great neighborhood place.

Finally, they have reopened back last week. They are still serving huge and delicious selections of sweets. I was there this morning, I bought a latte and egg and cheese sandwich and it was amazing, Im sure its gonna be my morning routine. And the staff was so friendly.

I have been going to this bakery for a REALLY long time. Their bread and cookies are excellent. They also have imported items. Coffee in the early AM is excellent too. It is just good coffee.

Ordered cured salmon croissant sandwich and matcha latte salmon was ice cold and croissant was cold as well i asked to take capers out but still got them in the sandwich the matcha was way too strong like they vaguely add the powder i had to add more and more more milk to be able to drink it . When it was time to pay the guy at the cashier didn’t give me the option to add the tip and pressed no tip for me . On the way out he and the barista stood still starring at us oddly. Very poor experience wont come back for sure

I had to take this moment to recognize Su and Cha Cha. I am a regular at Sweet Kitchen and it’s because of these two thoughtful women. Su and Cha Cha are so pleasant and always make me feel welcomed and valued. I always order a Chai tea latte and it never fails to taste truly amazing. As soon as I step into this blissful shop, Su or Cha Cha jump right away to start my order. They always remember what I order and how I like it my order. They always remember ME and it feels so special. Su and Cha Cha always have great energy and it always makes my day. Thank you ladies for your passion and dedication to your customers like me ❤️

I’m glad that Sweet Kitchen reopened after Having shut down due to the pandemic, albeit under new ownership. I was excited to go back to one of my favorite places for coffee and breakfast, but after having done so, I must say much of what I loved about the place is gone. The walls are painted a stark white, the artisan coffee signs and armoire (which gave a homey feel) are gone. The coffee is not the same. What is most unfortunate, however, are the menu changes.

For the past two years, I’ve ordered Sweet Kitchen’s carrot cake for my sister-in-law’s birthday. She is in her sixty’s and has always requested carrot cake for her birthday. This year and last year, she and all the guests remarked that it was the best carrot cake ever and wanted to know who baked it. Sweet Kitchen I told them. Don’t want to write this review without mentioning that I’ll give them five stars for all the food I’ve had had there. Enjoy!

Terrible service! The waitress took forever to get our order when the cafe was basically empty. The waitress came to charge us the minute we got our order. Then she just stood there for 10 minutes on the machine to charge us (not sure if she was trying to get our order right but it’s very rude to just stand there). She then took my friend’s debit card out of her hand rudely as if we dont know how to use it. We were very uncomfortable the entire time, I will not be returning.
