I like going into JC Penneys I have since Im a little girl with mum... Great customer service and very clean always find what I need well stocked.. Listen up you better start shopping and supporting our stores or youre gonna find we dont have any left...thats for all you amazon shoppers

Its a shame I have to give this review a low rating but, it seems JC Penny has cut-back on staff so much that it is difficult to obtain any assistance in a timely manner. I went to the suit dept. to get an updated measurements as I lost some weight but, no one to help save for the cashier who had a long line of customers waiting to pay for their goods. This was not the first time this has occurred but, perhaps this is the standard at the Montclair location only. The last time I was there, I and another lady were waiting an eternity (almost 15 minutes) for the cashier to return to attend the checkout line but, she never did. We commented on the absurdity and we both left without making a purchase.

Great place for clothes for kids and adults.

Ordered some pants but needed to exchange them. The sales associate was friendly, very helpful. Top notch employee

Got some pictures done today. The photographer was very nice and professional however this JC Penny has really gone downhill! I didnt expect this department store to be so miserable to walk through. The floor staff look very unattached and the displays are quit dirty. Also I kept smelling a very odd oder in the kids clothing area. Definitely not worth the over priced products!

I was able to buy some nice clothes for my granddaughters birthday. She loved them and I got a great deal.

Very helpful staff. Tried to find some shoes and they spent time searching for me. Good sales on mens clothing. Bought some nice soft colored t shirts and some chino pants for the office.

I received the worst possible service by an associate named Laura. She worked at the woman’s department with the most horrendous attitude and demeanor. There was not a single positive thing to say about this women’s work ethic. She started off by calling us from the line by screaming “Next!” Then she proceeded to converse with us in the rudest fashion. I could have received better service from a trash can. I have always liked JCPenney, but this women made me change my 10 years of jcpenney shopping experience. I was not going to post this review until my good friend told me about a similar experience two days later, and we were shocked to hear it was the same person! Either fix your attitude Laura or hopefully a higher official can fix it instead.

Definitely understaffed. Its hard to find help or a register that doesnt have long lines. It would be nice if they would open the doors by 10am instead of 11am. Its almost lunchtime!

Well l was a month ago 2021 may. But they have small clothes selection special for kids.and the prices a little high.even the one on special. They give great back when open an account. But for me l do not thing get back soon. Was in montclair mall.ca.

Busy no help go to pay on my JCP credit card declined $242. It never has worked always have to stand there or off to the side Even though still have plenty of credit available have to call number off card everything approved paid $150 On debit card still wouldnt work so ended up paying in full

Thought they would have a lot more selection for my daughter in teens.

Went last week to attempt to purchase a bed frame, mattress etc and was disappointed. Other than the mattresses, they dont actually have any bed frames on site to look at, you have to see it on a computer monitor. Also, the staff member was not very knowledgeable about the products they are selling and could not tell me whether or not the bed I was potentially going to buy required a box spring and a mattress or just a mattress. It was very discouraging so I decided not to buy and make own research since I could not rely on the cluelless staff member.

This place has a depressing vibe, and Im not gonna lie -- Ive never voluntarily walked into a JC Penneys in my 30+ years of life probably aside to use a restroom. However, in my bored afternoons perusing malls and trying to find some sanity and happiness, Ive actually found that the department stores private mens casualwear brand, Arizona, as well as this brand called Retreat (pricier though) have some okay stuff. Maybe on-par with Targets Good Fellow or Kohls Sonoma Goods. (I mean after all, they are equivalents competitively.) Decent shirts and polos and denim items (basic stuff). Also, most of the stuff is almost always on sale (and sometimes the JC Penney website has some exclusives savings too). So if you need basics (nothing fancy with logos) -- from base pieces to finding non-branded wardrobe for film/TV projects, check this place out. That being said, workers here will help you if you approach them; otherwise, theyre doing their own stuff or nowhere to be found (and I dont dock a star for that because this chain is dying, I dock cuz the place is just depressing and you can tell hasnt been remodeled in 20 years or so).

First the good.- The curbside pickup was Great!The rest- Ordered a product in November (3 months ago). Never got notice it was there. Called and told it was sent back. Reordered.Next order same thing. I called and they said it was there, but they couldnt find it, and would call me back.You guessed it- never heard from them! 3rd order, received a notification a week after it arrived and warned it would be sent back if I didnt come pick it up in the next days.I wouldnt place an online order there again.

JCPENNEY was a good place to buy clothing at a reasonable price and decent quality about 15 years ago. Today their selection seem scarce and the atmosphere is different, like boring not exciting.

This location is on the verge of shut down even though they haven’t proclaimed so. The store is ALWAYS empty. No customers no merchandise, literally empty shelves. Escalators been broke for five years now. Your crazy if you take that abandoned elevator in the corner of the store. You could literally stay in the home section overnight and no one would no your their.

Went to get some shoes. They had like 4 ppl working that dept. Can I say rude?!! Yes!! The 1 lady was really nice. But the others very rude. Standing around doing nothing while the nice was was dealing with customers as well as her duties.

Looking for slippers for my mother

I drove from Orange County South to the Montclair Plaza to buy some underclothes, specifically bras. They have NO dressing rooms!! I could buy the items and return them within 45 days, but that is an 80 mile round trip. Also there was no one available to help me. I saw only 2 people to help me and 2 cashiers (only) on the entire 2nd floor. The whole store was neat, clean and well stocked, with winter clothes mostly...Just no one to help you and no place to try on (especially bras) the clothes.

Wow. Was in line for almost 25 mins, wanted to exchange the jacket I JUST BOUGHT earlier for a more expensive one that my mom wanted, and it wasn’t til I got to the register that they tell me “Sorry exchanges are on the other side” tried to tell them I literally just wanted to do a simple exchange. I know for a fact that they can do it, they just refused to. Wow. Just wow. I used to work at this store and let me tell you the customer service here now is terrible.

My mom always shopped here when I was growing up. And Ive continued to do the same as an adult. Its my go to for mens clothing as the prices are reasonable. Plus its quick and convenient.

The cashier here was perhaps the most useless employee I have had the misfortune of running across. In the time I was here, it took her 10 minutes to ring up a man with only 3 towels.She was then unable to help me complete a transaction and was not unable to help me at all. Stay away from here if you value your time.

JCP. was great. I was able to paymy bill. I got great customer service from the cashier in paying my bill. Also, I was sble to make a purchase. I got a really great price on a great shirt. I was totally satisfied.

I have visited this store for years and never had problems with my purchased products. Depending on the day however they are understaffed so customer service is not fast, but only due to the lack of staff.
