I’m not impressed with the quality of the installation, nor of the customer service I received to rectify the situation. I contacted Backyard Products and sent them photos of my concerns:1. The window frame does not line up2. The trim is jagged and was not sanded3. The hole that was drilled for the lock broke through the frame.The manager Mickey told me that they would have the repairs made but never contacted me back to schedule them. I contacted them several times and never received a returned phone call. It has now been over a year and I still have not received a returned phone call or text. I absolutely do not recommend this company - they will ignore customer concerns.
The shingles keep falling off. Great shed, terrible installer. The pressure on the installers air nailer was too high so all of the roofing nails were driven all the way through the shingles. Which is why every shingle one onside of the roof fell off. The guy (Hilliard)they sent out to repair was awesome. However after he left, the ones that didnt have a problem the time, eventually fell off to. But the repair guy responded to my text over the weekend immediately and said he would be on-site 1st thing Monday to take care of the problem.
I bought the Princeton 10x10 shed plus installation from Home Depot online in May, 2021. It took 3 months to be installed. They billed me for the shed a month before it had been installed. The original estimation date of early July was completely wrong and misleading. I should have opted to order the kit immediately and hire a local carpenter to build it. Backyard products sent a poor fella 3 hours away to come build it. He had to work nonstop solo at a frantic pace just to complete it at a reasonable time. He didn’t even stop for food or bathroom, only water. He was however very nice and remained as efficient as possible given the undesirable circumstances. It’s for his sake I’m rating it at least a 2 star instead of a 1. The door locking latch system is a joke, you can disassemble it when it’s locked from the outside with a screwdriver. Seems to be missing some trim pieces.Would not recommend to anyone. Buyer beware, if you do go with these shed kits, buy from a better manufacturer and perhaps consider hiring a reputable local carpenter.
They never showed up to install shed. After finally getting a hold of them they had rescheduled the install date without letting me know. I was also told that because I purchased the shed in August and scheduled the install for October due to product availability that they will have to cancel my order and I have to repurchase the same shed at a higher price because lumber prices went up. I would stay away from this place
I have it 3 stars because I did receive a response back from customer service with the recruiter extension. I’m trying to become an installer but haven’t been able to get a hold of any to check on the status of my application. I applied sometime in September. Just wondering if it has anything to do with Covid
We purchased a shed from Lowe’s and got stuck with this company to do our build. After paying up front, we waited 5 months to get them to send someone to build it. After many call and emails, we finally got someone that came from 2 hours away to start the work, after 3 days he was finished but told us one of the panels was defective and had a large crack. He said he would put this up temporarily and order the new panel and when it came in he be back to replace it. That’s the last we ever saw of him. Called some guy named Matt who said he was the owner and he said he would send someone to fix it.That was 5 Months ago, now he won’t return calls or emails.What we ended up with was a shed that’s front doors are uneven, large gaps in the roof and a crack that will only get worse……Consumers BEWARE, do not use this Company! Awful customer service, irresponsible and poor work! You need to get something built, use a local contractor and save yourself the headache.
Listen to all the negative reviews about this product and do not purchase it. I can’t even make it past the first step of installation because there are missing pieces. I should’ve listen to all the negative reviews and built the shed from scratch on my own. Save yourself time and money and do not buy this product.
Purchased playground set through Costco with a delivery and installation date set in place through their office in Murfreesboro, TN. We had tried to call the office in TN, to confirm deliver, multiple times (over 15 times) with no answer and no return call. The date for delivery and installation came and no one called so we started calling the corporate office as we had not heard from the TN office. After hours on hold with corporate which included a disconnection with no follow up call back, they stated they would reach out to the TN office on our behalf in which they did the same day (really appreciate that quick action). Soon after, a woman from the TN called and rudely stated that corporate had reached out to them about a delivery issue in which they stated they had texted that they would be delayed in delivery (I never received a text and offered to send my phone records stating as such). The woman was very rude and stated she was very busy, in which I replied “are you too busy for me?” In which she stated “yes”....wow! I am at the mercy of this company at this point and I will now have to wait, we are past our 4-6 week delivery time and have a new delivery and set up date. We will see if it happens...
Purchased a Gorilla Playset from Costco. Branch that handled installation (if you want to call it that) is 58B out of Northern Virginia. Communication and timely install date was good especially under given circumstances. I could probably write a book about what a disaster of an experience the actual install was. To cut to the chase the installer didn’t follow the instruction manual at all, took shortcuts whenever possible and we were left with a sub par product. He actually tried to leave with an entire box of parts he didn’t feel like installing (ANCHORING STAKES, sand box seats, and more). I had to essentially confront him at his car as he tried to sneak off without any walk through of final product to avoid that all going straight to garbage. I actually put more blame on the company than individual for sending this individual out by himself to do a job he was obviously not qualified to do. I don’t believe in writing poor reviews without giving a company honest feedback and a chance to reconcile first. As soon as installer left I got on phone with branch manager, explained situation and sent pics of all the issues. He said all the right things about sending out one of the top guys to do thorough check, fix all issues and make things right. That was 7 days ago and there’s been zero follow up by them. Stay away
Whoever was running this place when I ordered my garage totally dropped the ball, when installation day came no preparations had been made at all.However, another manager Ken stepped in and took over everything. They got the job done after a while and compensated for our inconvenience. They really made it right for us after a very rocky start.Good experience all things considered with covid and material price increases. This was after another shed builder, Tuff Shed, gave up totally on building the shed I had paid them for.Love the new garage!
One of the worst jobs I’ve ever had! Communication is nonexistent so when I would show up to build /paint shed every customer had no clue that I was coming. If you could talk them into letting you do your work, the customer complains about the entire experience! The last shed they sent me to build was a complete disaster! After I was 90% complete with the build, the customer was unhappy with some of the material sent with me so they decided that they wanted a refund. I was instructed to tear everything down and get it off their property! Somehow they deemed me responsible for the customer changing their mind so they did not pay me the $1,700 owed for the week. I had to stay in a hotel which I had to pay out of pocket with promises I would get reimbursed. So not only did I beat on my paycheck it actually cost me money as I did not get reimbursed either! I suggest shoveling horse manure with a spoon before working for these clowns!

Purchased a swing set from Costco which was sent to this vendor to deliver and install, it shouldn’t have been sent to them in the first place especially for these situations. I had an install scheduled from the Deer park NY location for 6/9 (scheduled from mid April), they decided to cancel on me at 2 pm that afternoon bc their builder has issues and they would call me back the next day. Guess what? They didn’t. After calling the main office lines and getting in touch with someone at their office since no one ever picks up and their voicemail is full, I received an email on Friday 6/11 at 5 for a tentative schedule date of 6/23. That’s unacceptable. The people you’re installing for between that date and the next date you’re providing are the lucky ones, at my expense. I paid for this product and install in full. If you get a Costco play set and your scheduled with these people, I highly doubt you’ll be receiving your product or their services. If you do, you’re lucky.ETA: as I thought, my 6/23 delivery and installation was postponed via email at 5:30 on 6/22 to 7/19. I even called the local office to confirm the install on 6/22 and left a voicemail to which it wasn’t returned. I called the main number and was told I was on the schedule for 8-12 but then received a cancellation. Why I have to wait another month to get this product is beyond my comprehension. Yes there could be an emergency but 3x I doubt it and if there was then why can’t I be rescheduled in 1-2 days. Is everyone else receiving their product????? I have submitted complaints to the BBB, Costco and reached out to their headquarters. These are unacceptable business practices and I consider these actions fraudulent. Will also reach out to the NY state attorney general office as well.
Not understanding all the bad ratings, I failed with my communication on my end with an interview and they gave me another chance to get another one scheduled... Things happen but so far from my experience they have excellent communication skills and offer good pay, I hear theirs a lot of work but thats why they call a job a job. Its not easy work but it will pay off in the future.
If I could leave zero stars I would. I should have done my research and read some of these reviews before jumping into this shed purchase. This is the WORST company I have ever done business with. There is ZERO communication and the most unprofessional employees. When you call and ask to speak to a manager you get the run around to avoid talking to anyone. No one ever calls you back. You can’t even get a text response from “management” or installers. It took over 2 months to get the shed up and it might as well been put together by my 3 year old. It leaks, there’s random holes throughout all the wall panels, there’s random nails and screws sticking out that are unsafe. I can’t even use the thing. Not to mention, the sales man from Kokomo Lowe’s- his picture should be next to the stereotype description of a sales man. I do not recommend this company at all.
Purchased a shed from Lowes; Happy with the product and the installer but original installation date was missed and wasnt notified until after the installer was supposed to be here. Rescheduled date, had to call to ask where installer was after no show for 7-10am window; then he said hed be there by noon, another call to ask where he was after 12:30. He did finally show between 1-2 and did wonderful work. He was unable to complete the project that day and arrived later than expected on the next planned day to finish the project. It was then I noticed the kit did not include the extra workbench I had paid for, so I am still ultimately waiting for completion. If the communication would have just been there from the installer in the beginning that he was running late, that his van broke down the day before, etc - I would have probably given 5 stars. All of my calls to the company were handled professionally and I do not doubt the workbench will be made right. I just wish I didnt have to be in contact so much to get this project done.
I purchased a swing set from Costco $1,800 later I was supposed to get delivery and installation. I ordered the Swingset in April, the swing set just got dropped off in my driveway on July 21st I was told it would be installed on July 23rd and still no installation.And from the sound of these reviews I might not want them to install it anyway.
Communication is terrible. Ordered a swing set. Paid. Then a few days later received and email about a delivery date. Date comes, no swing set. We call the next day. No answer. Day after we talk with someone. They don’t have the product in stock with no guarantee of when it will be. But no call before or the day of about this. Then takes a week after to get a hold of someone again with no answers. And a week to get someone to speak with about a refund. Then 2 weeks to get “approval” of said refund. And then the usual 7-10 business days to get refund.
There was a display model available at Lowes in Manchester, CT. The territory manager, Chris Whaynt met with my boyfriend 8/16/2020 and told him that if we can move the shed we can have it because they cant sell it with all the damage (was hit by a plow). We were told we would have the paperwork the next day so the company we paid to move it can come get it. We did not get any paperwork and on 8/19 we called to follow up. Chris left us a message saying he was sending us the paperwork and we should get it shortly. After not getting the paperwork at all that week we went to Lowes on 8/22/2020 to see if he or a rep was there. When we arrived there was someone working on the shed that we had been waiting on paperwork for. They told us they bought it on 8/20 or 8/21 and it was theirs and they were taking it home. We called the office, Chriss phone and left messages and called customer service. We were told there is nothing that can be done because our paperwork was not completed before they other people got their paperwork. We were told we would get a call from Chris 8/24 in the AM. We never received a call. We called the customer service line and they were able to put us into contact with Chris. He said it was not his fault it was the companys fault and when we asked about getting our money reimbursed he refused the entertain the idea. They sold a shed that was already sold and the company and its employee are blaming each other. Very unprofessional and disappointing. As someone who works in customer service and sales industry this is completely unacceptable practice and sad to see both the company and employee pinning the blame on eachother and unwilling to help their customer.
I love my building but the guy that built it could have had a better disposition. Also I paid for 6 tie downs and nobody ever came to do the work. Im very disappointed with the company overall. The salesman in Costco was very nice.
The shed we ordered and had installed is perfect! The builder was great and knew exactly how to get the job done! It took a lot less time to build than anticipated and we couldnt be happier with the finished product!
Shed went up in one day. It’s been a year. The build is perfect. The installer was very polite and neat. I’d recommend this company to anyone
3 hours to load, but they were clear on the rate contract that it would be 3 or more. They did add a 500lb pallet, had I been awake Id have charged more. Walk over to cracker barrel while loading.
Communication was very good and the installation crew was excellent. Very professional and responsive. Worked hard to get the details right.
They installed my shed more than a year ago and it is still in perfect condition. The install went flawless and the communication was great. Couldnt have asked for more.
This has been a Great Place to work . Awesome co-workers and positive atmosphere. So glad I took this opportunity for a seasonal position. They have kept me way longer than expected. Really hoping I can come back every year for seasonal work, but I do hope I can get hired here eventually. Its been such great group of people and I am looking forward to see where it leads to.

These guys gave me the run around on a shed install all summer long. Bought it from Home Depot in May. They first called at the end of June and told me Aug 4th. Called a couple days before that and re scheduled for Aug 24th. Today is Aug 24th I recieved no calls or e-mails. Got a hold of Home Depot, the company told them they were loading the truck and would be installing it today. Got a call after 10 am that they made a mistake and I was scheduled the the 25th. Then he tells me that I may have to be rescheduled again. Just cancelled my order from Homedepot.com and wasted the whole summer and dont have a shed. What a joke.
Purchased a playset with installation. Professionally done. No hassle or problems. Installer came on time, unloaded the boxes and started working on putting the playset together right away. Done by 2pm! Amazing. Highly recommend. We have had the playset for 9mos., 4 kids on it at a time. Still holding strong and we love it!
Near Thanksgiving I purchased the Turbo Twin Titan playscape directly from the Backyard Products website. The 8-10 weeks delivery was going to cut it close for Christmas, but it arrived the next week!The any day, anytime 800 number is staffed with friendly, knowledgeable people. Debbie from customer service is AWESOME!Anyone who feels, as I did, that service after the sale is dead, have never purchased from Backyard Products.

HUGE LETDOWN. I purchased a shed I found online for a great price with them. They took my payment no problem, then called and said it was a discontinued shed and that they would not just send a comparable one at the same price that I would have to buy up. How is this my problem that I was able to buy a shed they no longer have? So ok, give me a refund....yep no problem but now I have to wait the 7-10 days to have the credit which means waiting another week and half to go buy something else. Horrible customer service and making things right doesnt seem to apply. I ended up getting a bigger shed for less than they offered at Home Depot.

I bought a shed from Costco and the installer was a local branch from Ashburn, VA. Pre-Install contact was pleasant but during and after install was terrible and the Manager I dealt with called me a liar and went back on his word. The product was good but the installers were new and didnt ask the right questions so the end product was wrong! Before the crew finished I call the branch but no one answer the phone so had to call the 1-800 which connected me to M.Soules. My concerns were missing window and the shed was in wrong layout/direction. The crew only asked which did we wanted the door to face not which direction the shed was suppose to be built. This is an important piece since this is an option (Gable or Eave). M. Soules at that time offered me 2 options correct the layout/direction of this shed. First, tear down, turn, and re-install. Second, keep as-is and hell give me some money back for the inconvenience. I took option #1 because I paid for the shed to be installed the way I wanted it that fit my landscape. Well, after weeks of waiting, the new crew came out today and said they cant turn the shed so they called M. Soules. He then hand the phone to me to speak with M. Soules, as it turn out M. Soules didnt recall the options that was given and said it CANT be done! He thought that I meant to change the door/window layout but keep it as the layout/direction of the shed as is! I said NO you gave me 2 options and I told you that I want to tear down, turn, and re-install. Further, where would I get the idea that it could be done if it wasnt offered and I even sent him a picture of the direct/layout of the shed (Eave), NEVER did I say I wanted to change the door/window!!! After nearly 15mins of me repeating myself and yelling at one point I FINALLY gave him 1 option which is leave the door/window where its at and just turn the shed to the direction that I want!!! I sent an email to him to state this because again I dont want him to say oh, you didnt say that or it was not CLEAR! As much as I like the product the service by this M. Soules and him calling me a liar I will NEVER do any business with them nor will I recommend this product. EXTREMELY unprofessional and not trust worthy!!!!
Trucker reviewArrived at 9:20 am for delivery (flatbed), they told me I was supposed to be there after 2pm. Was unloaded by 10am. Use the south entrance. You don’t need to check in (not sure about dry vans), just park in the middle (so they can use both sides) before loading docks, and just stay in your truck, somebody will come and get you.

Do not buy from. Customer service is non-existent. I bought a shed kit from them. It was missing pieces. I reached out to have them send the missing pieces, but they didnt respond.
Was a great job. Plenty of room for advancement and fast for those who dedicate themselves and up until recently plenty of hrs. And Im sure that the lack of hrs lately has more to it than just the weather on the east coast considering our company is nation wide. So other than the major decrease in hrs lately its a great career.

I am not impressed!!!!!! Their phone system kicks you out and no one answers any extension!!!!!
IHOP M,50 and I 75 Monroe Mi . Just like the last time we were there, long weight lots of empty tables, under staffed. Mite think about a fair wage. Pancake on bottom of stack was burnt. Hash browns were crispy. Waitress was very nice said it was just her third day.
These guys are great. A great value, quick delivery and installation. Nice to know there are still companies that do exactly what they say the will do, when they say they will do it.
Purchased a playset through Lowes. Working on scheduling and completing the installation has been the worst customer service experience I think I have ever gone through. Installation date has come and gone with a lot of finger pointing and zero accountability.
If I could put a zero I would they didn’t even put up the walls of the shed straight. They left the work area with out check in with me prior to leaving the job site . There is chips of wood from the nail gun and they did not use treated wood for the outside trim on the bottom of the shed the only way I got treated 4x4’s for the shed to sit on I requested and paid for😜

We brought their kit for a shed from Menards and all the pieces are supposed to be pre measured and cut. They are uneven and miscut. We had to go to Lowes to buy our own in oder to finish the project up. Extremely disappointed,We got the Ellington 10*8 shed
This businesses shipping department is ridiculous whether you are pulling a dry van or skateboard. They always have a different excuse as to why they cant load in a proficient manner. Was told to park out on the street in front of building where it is clearly marked no parking.
I purchased a Pasadena Pavilion 10 x 12 for my backyard from Lowes 6 to 7 weeks ago? I understand it takes time but truly this was a little bit too much time after buying something so expensive. When I finally got the shipment which I was expecting start categorizing the parts as it said in the book and found all the four main post that support the unit were extremely cracked chunks taken out of it and warped on one of them. Truly disappointing the other disappointing part is there is absolutely no hardware to assemble the unit. Quality control truly needs to be improved from this agency if its going to to continue. Im not mad I bought a gazebo with four Bentz Post and no hardware to install it why should I be upset.

Purchased fencing through Home Depot and installation was suppose to be completed Sept 7th. Parts were missing so the workers were suppose to be out on the 11th to finish up an entire gate section. We never heard anything and then they showed up on the 13th and didn’t have the right posts. They came back out on the 16th to finish. The gate was swinging the opposite way we had talked about and the latch locked on the outside, which did us no good. A few days later the gate was falling down and the posts were no longer secured to the concrete. We also had crooked posts that needed aligned and the fencing needed adjusted so it was slightly off the ground. Several phone calls/messages later, we were able to talk to a human on the phone. October 1st, Nathan came out to fix everything. The gate that was re-fixed, would only open 2 feet, and then it hit the ground. Today, Friday Oct 12, the gate was fixed, but our posts have not been fixed. It is 5 weeks today and it is still not completed. Home Depot was told that everything was completed and we have never signed off yet. Save your time and money and go else where!
Worst Experience Ever. Their managers who hire managers need more experience. This company is going down hill and down hill fast. I hope our economy is going to be ok for another bail out. This company is going to need it. I hope and pray all other customers do not have the same experience as I did. The only person who had any common sense to make a customer happy is no longer working for this company. Corporations need to think twice before they do what they do and we need to pay more attention.
Super slow to get loaded.
We recently purchased a shed by this company through our local Home Depot. My husband has had the worst time putting it up. Warped boards, the instructions and tooling provided do not match, the frame piece on the outside of the door is broke, length of boards dont match from one side to the next. Terrible product worst imvestment we have ever made. Should have spent the money and bought evwrything seperate. Less headache and trouble. Living and a small community and not alot of space to use a bundle of tools we were looking for something all ready cut. WHAT A JOKE.
This is the worst factory type job I have ever had. My manager was a jerk and most of the employees were not interested in helping new staff members learn the line positions. You get two 10 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch. Terrible experience. I would rather live under the bridge than go back there. I lasted three whole days. Awful!
What a horrible experience. The shed was installed on May 17th 2018. The installer didnt finish the roof and said they would come back the following week. Its a month later the roof is unfinished, the felt paper is blowing off allowing water into the building when it rains. Ive called the local office and the corporate number multiple times and cant get any help.
I purchased a shed from Lowes on 07/0716. The shed was made by Heartland Sheds. Ken with Backyard Solutions scheduled an install for 8/19/16. The shed was installed by incompetent installers. I expressed my concern to Backyard Solutions. Ken came out the following week and acknowledged the shed was a mess. Did not hear from them again until I spoke with the manager at Lowes in mid September. He spoke with Ken and his boss John at Backyard Solutions. Lowes refunded me the money I spent for the shed. Backyard Solutions gave me a check for $200.00 he said it was for customer appreciation. There is nothing about this company I appreciate. There company installed the shed, but Lowes refunded me my money. Take my advise and dont allow this company on your property. They are worst company for installing sheds or anything for that matter. Heartland Sheds and Backyard Solutions have the same address so I assume they are the same company.
The worst company ever, disrespectful to foreign drivers and refused to load because the loaders got mad for no reason. Lost a bunch of time and wasnt able to get another load. Absolutely unacceptable and not the right way to to do business.
