I gave these guys my business based upon all the 5 star reviews and positive comments about these guys... I took my wifes van to him because the transmission was slipping in anything above 4th gear... With me expecting for them to have to repair/replace my transmission, Paul comes back to me and says its not your transmission, you just need a tune up... Saving me hundreds, if not a couple thousand dollars... Fully recommend this shop... Thanks Paul!

Finding this company was a blessing. I had taken my car to the dealer who serviced my car for years because my car suddenly wouldnt shift into gear. The dealer didnt know what was wrong or why my transmission stopped working. They took my transmission apart and left it in pieces. I called Twin Transmissions who towed my car to his shop and totally rebuilt my transmission to perfection. I brought my 82 K10 to have the seals in the transmission replaced. They ended up telling me there wasnt much to work with and theyd have to do a full rebuild. Paul was up front and honest about everything they would have to do for it and they quality of the job went above and beyond what other shops would do. The truck now drives and shifts smooth. My vehicle went down back in November and I was referred to this place by a young man at a service station I took my 2003 Tahoe to get an oil change and tune up bc my vehicle was giving me issues. I ended up calling and talking to Paul, in which he appeared to be ok BUT THAT WAS A LIE! ON TOP OF MULTIPLE OTHER LIES. Before using this business, I asked him for a rough number in the most severe case PAUL told me $2200 worst case scenario. A few days later he called back stated it would be $2600. A few more days passed and he called back and said $3300 bc the vehicle had the WRONG TRANSMISSION in it. I at that point declined the repair. I was unable to pick the vehicle at that time but I kept contact with him and when I was able I took him the fees he charged me to hold the vehicle. Upon arriving to pick my vehicle up there was absolutely NO TRANSMISSION in the vehicle AT ALL! I called him to ask where MY transmission was, PAUL STATED AROUND HERE SOMEWHERE! Now, I MAY NOT BE THE SMARTEST PERSON IN THE WORLD BUT TO ME HE TOOK MY TRANSMISSION OUT FIXED IT AND SOLD IT TO SOMEONE ELSE AND UPON MY REQUEST FOR MY TRANSMISSION WILL NOW GIVE ME THE WRONG TRANSMISSION TO FIT HIS STORY. From my understanding the transmission can be dropped and checked WITHOUT complete removal. THERE IS NO TRANSMISSION in my vehicle AT ALL. This business picked up a running vehicle. PLEASE BE CAREFUL. If you have a vehicle here GO PICK IT UP!!!! He seems helpful and he may be to some but this experience was a NIGHTMARE!!!! I would never recommend this business to a soul!!! I HOPE & PRAY I help someone!! People are HEARTLESS!!!! DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS.

Let me just start off by saying that Twin Transmission is by far and away the best shop for your transmission and other vehicle needs. Paul at Twin Transmission was consistently honest and helpful since the beginning. I had my 2006 Mustang V6 automatic transmission rebuilt by him which now shifts like a dream. Paul’s work is immaculate and definitely will not overcharge. I knew from the first phone call with him that my car would be in great hands. Sure enough, he didn’t let me down. There is not a doubt in my mind that he will let you down. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

I took my Honda CRV in as the transmission was shuddering (needing a torque converter). Paul suggested we try adding LubeGuard Shudder fixx first to see if that would cure the problem. He provided the product at no charge and sure enough it fixed my problem. That saved me $1,400. I highly recommend Twin Transmission as one of the most honest shops I have ever found. Paul will treat you right, there is no question in my mind. When the converter eventually goes out rest assured Paul will get my business.

Twin Transmission was recommended by another auto repair shop to diagnose and repair my BMW 328i. My car was shuddering while changing gears. I went to see Paul at Twin Transmission and he explained what could possibly cause the shuddering. The techs determined the cause and immediately call me to inform me of their findings. Let me start off with the whole experience I had. So I have a 2001 Dodge Ram and I have been scared of the day that that transmission will go out. And I thought that day had finally happened when I finished replacing a intake gasket and the transmission started shift hard and slipping. Every place could not get me in right away and said itll be $75 to $100 to just look at it and they said youll probably need a have it rebuilt. I Sent an email to twin transmission Sunday got a call Monday morning saying they can look at it no charge. Every other place I had called had to wait to even give me a price. And still never even called me back. So I went to twin transmission waited 15 minutes and my truck was fixed. The cable was too tight and didnt know when to shift. They saved me a ton of money. I greatly appreciate the staff there and the help and knowledge they have. These type of shops are rare nowadays. Keep up up the good work I will definitely recommend this place to anyone that needs work on their transmission.

I came to Twin Transmission to have my Honda Odysessys transmission rebuilt three weeks ago. I spoke with Paul on the phone and found out that it is very common for my type of cars transmission to fail...they also had some information on their website that was very helpful too. He was very informative and took the time to explain to me what may have went wrong. I decided to have the car towed in and then met with Paul in person after he looked my car over. It was indeed a transmission problem. I was very thankful for the time Paul took to explain the details to me, as I said previously, he was very informative. He gave me a price on the transmission rebuild and also told me about their online coupon for $200 off that I hadnt seen. He gladly printed me a copy of the coupon there and took the discount off the price he had quoted. Three days later I came to pick up my car and it drives so much better than it did before. I have a 2006 Honda Accord that would not move. After taking it to the local Honda dealership and being told that it would cost $3000+ to have my transmission replaced with a re-manufactured transmission I decided that I would just buy a new car and hold on to this one and have it fixed at a later date. I decided to get a second opinion and came across Twin Transmission. They gave me a better price to rebuild my transmission, and the 3 year warranty was the cherry on top.I was on my way home when I get a call from Charlie. He informed me that there was nothing wrong with my transmission!!! My axle was broken on one side, and the other was on the way out. After repairing both of my axles my car is running like a champ.They could have easily charged me and arm and a leg, fixed the axles, and claimed they fixed the transmission. Honesty is all customers ever want from a mechanic and these guys demonstrated the exact definition of the word.Im now a lifelong customer. No one else will touch any of my cars.

Our RAV4 started shifting strangely and we took it to Toyota. The fluid had leaked out and they wanted to replace the transmission for $8k. I knew that was not necessary so I took it here and Paul fixed the leak and filled it back up. Cost was a tiny fraction of what the dealership wanted and he was done in a day. Good communication too. Ill certainly return if we have any future issues.

I drive a 2004 Suburban 4x4 I refuse to replace. I will keep this truck forever. The transmission started to fail after 225,000 miles of use. Twin did a great job rebuilding the tranny, it was done in three days at a very reasonable price. Paul is no nonsense, upfront, very knowledgeable and gets the job done. After the 1000 mile warranty inspection I hauled my family from Charlotte to Rochester NY and back and the truck ran flawlessly. It was great to be able to pass without the trans slipping. This place will fix your transmission, period.

Great shop. Honest and fair. These guys know what they are doing and will give you an honest assessment. Three minutes to find the leak after 2 other mechanics replaced the gasket (both shops used the wrong one) and pan. Worst part is it was even the gasket that was leaking! Twin has it right no more issues. I wont bring my truck to anyone else.

After doing a search on Angies List, I found Twin Automotive and based on the positive reviews, decided to give them a call. I talked to Paul (the owner), who was very much aware of the Nissan Pathfinder transmission issue. He gave me an immediate quote of $3295 and explained in great detail what caused the issue and what was necessary to fix it. I mentioned the catalytic converter and timing chain diagnosis as well. I decided to give him my business based on his knowledge of my specific issue.Twin Automotive handled the towing from Modern Nissan, and Paul called me the following week with the diagnosis. He confirmed the transmission failure, the need for a catalytic converter replacement, but said that my timing chain did not need to be serviced at all! Total estimate was around $3700. Quite an improvement over the 8K estimate by Modern Nissan. Also, this fell on the low end of what I had read other people had paid for Nissan Pathfinder transmission replacement on the internet. I agreed to do the needed services and also asked him to do an oil change. The service was completed as expected and they allowed us to apply a $200 coupon off of transmission repair - total cost about $3500. I couldnt be happier with the results. I would recommend Twin Automotive for automotive services. If you have a Nissan with the coolant leak transmission issue - Paul is the guy to see!

I had heard of Twin before so when I had a transmission problem I figured to call them first. I spoke with Paul. He was very knowledgable, and made me feel comfortable to bring the car in there. I met with him in person and he showed me what they would do to repair the transmission. The work was done in only about 4 days from when I dropped it off and I was very happy with the entire process. They always kept me informed. It has probably been about 4 months since the repair was done and I am happy to say I made the right choice by choosing Twin Transmission for the job.

Then I became very skeptical to move forward because of some negative reviews that I read online. So I called Paul back to get a better feel for their services and I asked him about the negative reviews. He said its a good chance it might be one of his competitors which makes sense. Anyways, we decided to take the vehicle to him and found out what it would take to fix the transmission. I was very happy with Pauls detailed oversight and regular communication letting me know what was happening every step of the way throughout the repair. The repair actually ended up costing us a fair amount but far less than buying a rebuilt transmission. The car runs great and I would recommend using Twin Transmission to anyone. Ive been to Twin Automotive several times over the past three years. I have always been impressed with the quality of service I have received. Paul, the owner, is very concerned about the customer, which shows in every aspect of the business he has created. This auto repair shop is number 1 on my list!

We came to Twin to have our transmission fixed. Paul helped us out and took a look at the vehicle. He even went on a road test with us so we could show him what we experienced with the car. After everything, it was determined that our cars transmission did need a rebuild. It went great -- no complaints at all. We priced out a few other shops nearby, but none of them seemed to know as much as Paul did about our vehicle and our transmission specifically. The price was in line with the other guys, but the warranty was so much better. We dropped it off the next day and had it back just two days later.

BE CAREFUL PEOPLE, DO NOT GO HERE and theyre NOTHING BUT TROUBLE! Here is my short story and advice. My manuel 5 speed transmission gone bad so I took it to their shop because their website offer $200 off and transmission rebuild with warranty.Here is my advice1) The warranty only work when you have FULL transmission rebuild. For example, if your second gear mess up and you just want to fix the second gear; the warranty will not cover that at all and he said he will only give me $98 off because is not a full service. Once its outside the shop its your problem.2) After your transmission fixed make sure ask them to use synthetic transmission oil because my transmission oil was leaking after 3 week later and I take it back to the shop and they said it was leaking from the engine between the transmission but not the transmission.I was like Are your SURE its not leaking from transmission? I ask them because I use ROYAL PURPLE and oil is PURPLE but the oil slowly leaking is not purple. So I took my car to the dealership and the technician said it was transmission seal leaking because they damage the seal. PEOPLE make sure to use synthetic transmission oil for manuel because the oil is red so you can determent engine oil or trany oil.3) Engine light ON after is fixed. if your vehicle never have any lights and engine light come on before but after they fixed your vehicle driving on the road suddenly the engine light pop out which mean they messed up wire some thing on your engine. Im 100% sure they mess up because take it back next day and they refuse to fix it and they reset my battery and they said come back if any problem occur. I cant trust them any more so I have everything record on my camera and ready to take my action to my lawyer. Unfortunately, I got new job no time to waste but I sold my car and no money lost and that was learning experience.I hope this info helpGOD BLESS

I had my transmission rebuilt less than 2 years ago and it is slipping now. The truck is parked and he recommed that I check the fluid levels and they are within spec.I contacted the shop and he could not remember working on my vehicle, yet lateron in the phone conversation he was able to tell me the mileage, strange since he could not remember doing the work. He offered to inspect the vehicle though my confidence level is not so high on spending more money with him at this point.I am sure he is well versed with his mechanical appitude though, I am curious how one might get a 3 year warranty versus a 1 year after a rebuild, are their better parts used, what gets a customer a 3 year warranty?

Twin Automotive is a world class transmission repair shop in Charlotte NC. And I say that because I have been there not just once, but 3 times with different vehicles all needing transmission repair work. Their shop is the nicest transmission shop I have seen in all my years of being in the automotive business. Paul runs a very smooth and clean shop. They have always been on time with repairs and if there was ever any issues, they always call immediately and let you know what is going on. Every question I have ever had has always been answered and I can honestly say I have never brought the same vehicle back for the same repair. They fix the problems and I have never, not once had a problem. Whenever people ask me who they should go to for automotive repair work, I always tell them go to Twin.

In Aug 2012 I had my 2006 Pathfinders transmission rebuilt with these guys. I had the dreaded milkshake problem where the trans fluid and coolant mix causing the inevitable destruction of both systems. Paul is the man. He gave me a very competitive quote and had the work completed on time. Almost 10 months later and a lot of miles towing my boat I can say my truck performs flawlessly. I went back last week to have a larger transmission cooler installed, and again Paul and his team were awesome. I would highly recommend this business and plan to continue using them in the future. When my transmission gave out in my truck I thought that was the end of it. I took my truck here and they seemed to know exactly what the problem was as soon as I pulled up. My car was only in the shop for a week and everyday I called I would get an update as to the status of my car. This ensured me they we were working on my car. I found Twin Auto after a search and visited to have my vans transmission checked out since it would not pass inspection. I chose Twin for their warranty and I am glad I did. After the initial rebuild a few more tweaks were needed as the trans was broken in and Twin did this with no extra charge as advertised.I appreciate the new confidence I have in driving my van knowing that; I am covered by a trans warranty and the bad wheel bearing they found has been replaced [which I am told can be very dangerous with the interstate driving I do.]

Paid over $2000 for a complete transmission repair and now not even a year later the transmission is slipping and they will not repair it unless it is brought back to them. We live over 3.5 hrs away and with it being as bad as it is it wont make it. To top it off the tow bill to get it there would be over $800 to get it back. This is just really bad service and unexcusable for them to have such bad customer service. Next time I know better than to have a vehicle fixed so far from home!!!!!

Made the mistake of buying the terrible Acura TL 1999-2002 model and waiting on the day for the tranny to fail while saving money for the repair. However, Twin having a website SPECIFICALLY ON THIS VEHICLE we thought The engine is bulletproof, the car is nice, and with one good transmission shop we can get another 50-75k out of it! NOPE! Huge mistake! Do yourself a favor and take the $2000-3000 youre about to spend at any shop and go trade your car in on something pre-owned with a warranty. After spending $2850 at Twin on a car worth no more than $3000 my fiance and I had to return THREE TIMES. They never fixed the problem, just patched it up and sent us away knowing wed be back again in a few months and would eventually tire out (especially since we lived in Concord!). We drove it like a grandmother and each time the slip would come back. A good honest shop would have said you bought a lemon of a transmission, cut your loses ASAP. Instead, they saw two young kids and took our $3k and laughed all the way to the bank. Luckily, we both have new cars now and wont repeat that mistake.
