I brought in a GM 6.0 to have cam bearings installed about a year ago. I just unwrapped the block to start my build and found the rear cam bearing is completely mauled. It looks like the installer tool slipped over the edge. And the oiling hole is off center. You know, i would bring it back, but Ill just go somewhere that double checks their work.

We have been using this business for about ten years. great service. prompt and very polite on their dealings. the price is fair, they know what the are doing. notice that we have probably done 70 jobs with them over that time or more. complete engine rebuilds and a lot of cylinder heads resurfacing, valve seats redone and a lot more.

Ive been using Quality for several years now and they have done well over 20 jobs for us. Overall they do good work and they are a couple of good ol honest guys. The trick with doing business with Quality is to be very specific about what you want done. I have noticed they do exactly what you ask for. If you want them to make suggestions about what else you can do to your motor, ask them!I brought a nasty head to them to deck and check for leaks. Thats exactly what they did. I got it back still nasty. They cleaned just enough to deck it and check it. LOL! I guess I should have been more specific. They have done a couple complete jobs (they do everything from disassemble to rebuilding) for me and they all came back in great shape. I have done far more partial jobs that I have then assembled myself and you cant assume anything has been done. Since they check things as they assemble them I think they assume you will too. If you are specific and double check stuff, they do awesome work for a very fair price! They have worked some miracles for me in the past and Ive been happy with them for over 4 years now.

I wish there was an option to rate 0 stars. I had Quality Auto rebuild a 2005 Dodge Dakota 4.7 liter v8 engine. It has been nothing but an absolute disaster since. After I got the engine back and reinstalled in my truck I immeadiately noticed it was leaking oil. It was leaking 1 quart of oil in 350 to 400 miles. I drove it to Quality Machine and took the owner (Mike) outside to show him it leaking as it was sitting in his drive way. He wold me to drive it for 3000 miles to see if it would stop leaking without having to make a repair. When it did not he had me take it to University Auto in Wingate to get his opinion as it seemed he was trying to get out of paying for the repair. The mechanic at University Auto in Wingate said the bed plate was leaking. He told me that Mike did not use the correct sealant to prevent this. I went back to Mike and told him I wanted it fixed and he agreed to pay my mechanic to pull the motor and I brought it back to Quality Auto to have the leak fixed. He fixed the leak and my mechanic put it back into my truck. As far as the oil leak is concerned the motor still drips oil. Although it is minor I still have a puddle in my driveway and where I park at work. As I stated earlier the engine had approximately 3500 miles on it after the engine was reinstalled after the oil leak repair. At 5700 miles after the rebuild I was driving it and noticed steam coming out of the tailpipe when I would start the engine. I immeadiately took the truck to my mechanic and the passenger side #7 cylinder was giving a misfire signal on the computer. As he began disassembling the engine he found the passenger side head to be loose and a blown head gasket on that side. The passenger side head was warped. I had the head repaired by another machine shop and had the drivers side head check and remachined also as I was extremely dissatisfied about how Mike handled the oil leak and did not trust him to repair the heads. Since this I have placed 8000 miles on the engine with no problems to date.
