The last of the true and honest mechanics, very few left that are in Wards league

I found myself in a panic when my Mini Cooper suddenly started having issues late on a Thursday afternoon. I found Import Automotive Repair through a quick search and called. They were incredibly accommodating and were able to take my vehicle that day. By the next morning, they called to let me know what was wrong and give me an estimate. By that afternoon, I was able to pick up my car and havent had issues since. They were incredibly helpful, able to help me out quickly, and gave me a very fair price. They were friendly both dropping off and picking up the car, and took the time to explain what was wrong with my car and why. I will definitely be going back to them for future repairs.

This was probably the best mechanic I’ve ever been to. A typical auto body shop would usually take advantage of a young, uneducated, girl like my self but the owner was so honest and kind. He promptly fixed what needed to be done and let me know where I could go for cheaper service and how long I could wait to repair less urgent problems. He even waited past closing time for me to come get my car and was extremely nice about it. I would recommend this shop to anyone!

Small shop, with a very honest mechanic that isnt looking to just gouge you any chance he gets. I will be back when repairs are needed on our vehicles and will also recommend them to friends in the area.

They always give great service with foreign vehicles. Location is not the best for parking but the service is worth it.

Ward is the best!!!! A good friend recommended him a few years ago and it was the best advice ever!! I have been taking my car to Ward ever since. He is an expert in his field and, equally as important, he is honest and fair. I trust him implicitly. When you find a mechanic who knows what hes doing that you also trust to have your best interest in mind - you have it made. Ward is this kind of mechanic.

I went in with my 2015 Honda CR-Z just for an oil change and tire rotation. I don’t trust “commercial auto” establishments, so I went here seeing that it had solid reviews.Ward did a quality job and he’s a really nice guy, someone you can trust to work on your car for more serious maintenance/repairs. I would definitely go to him again.

Round 3 for me with car problems and every time I go here for any problem I have. Honest guy, great prices, and gets it done as quickly as possible, never waited longer than two days for my car and one of the times he had called and couldnt reach me or it would have been a day. Highly recommend.

Ive been waiting to write this review to see how the work I got done on my car has held up. I own a 2005 545i BMW, and I can honestly say I wouldnt go anywhere else unless I had to. This place gives amazing service, delivers with highly quality work, and is honest. My previous mechanic was a nightmare and just did not know what he was doing. When I took my car to Import Automotive my problems were solved with just one visit. I highly recommend this place. I can FINALLY say I found a AMAZING mechanic shop that isnt trying to rip a person off

I brought (towed) in my 20-year-old truck that had just died on the road. I tried a few repairs myself, but no luck (lets leave it to the experts). Spoke with Ward and he said, bring it down. They diagnosed the problem and fixed the issues immediately. I had them look over the vehicle for any possible trouble issues. They suggested a few items of concern, explained the items in detail, gave me a reasonable quote, and I said go for it with no hesitation. All repairs we explained to me in layman terms. He even showed me the parts he replaced with explanation. I am very pleased with the services Import Automotive Repair performed on my vehicle. They have also worked on my Subaru and company fleet vehicles. As far as I am concerned, there is no other place I would take my vehicles for automotive service repairs.

We brought in two 20+ year old cars to Ward at Import Automotive, and we were very pleased with our experience!One of the cars had an intermittent overheating problem that no one else had been able to identify. We thought it was a head gasket but were proven wrong when Ward found that the cooling fan switch was only working sometimes. After this part was replaced, the car handles the heat just fine. This car was fixed for a fraction of what we were expecting to spend!The second car had a couple of different problems starting as well as an aftermarket air conditioning system that had a faulty hose and damaged condenser. The starting problems were diagnosed in minutes (a faulty fuel pump relay and starter wiring harness) and repaired the next day when the parts came in. For the A/C system, Ward had a shop fabricate a new hose and sent the condenser to another facility to be identified for replacement. While this took a very long time (about a week), it was completely expected and no fault of Wards. The rate for repairing a non-standard A/C system in such an old car was very fair!Very professional, honest, understanding, and responsive. Would highly recommend!

One of the few true test of an honest and reliable mechanic is if you can get to talk to him on the phone--if a business owner and its employees are willing to take in a new customer by initially talking on the phone to gauge their willingness and to see if its worthwhile for us, customers, to embark on the journey, especially if driving your car may not be an option. The phone call was received by Guillermo, who then asked me what I need. I said Id like to speak with Ward. I was briefly put on hold so he can fetch him, after asking me where Im from; and Guillermo came back with What is it that you need? So I said, again, that I need to speak with Ward. Guillermo said Ward is not in all day!This business failed the first rule of business and customer service. If a person can give you a run-around this way, it makes you wonder what else theyre capable of doing, eh?I hope they read this review and rectify this mistake.

I took my Z in after a bad experience with another mechanic. Basically all I can say is WOW. My car runs like when I first got it. Its powerful, responsive and I now realize that I had forgotten how much I love my car. Oh, and the price was ridiculously low considering how it runs now. All I wish is that I went here first. I first took my toyota to Ward in January 2015 after a vehicle mechanical breakdown, I talked to Ward and explained that to me a good Mechanic is like a good Doctor. Ward was very nice and made me feel comfortable bringing my vehicle to him. He was honest and showed credibility in the way he handled my issue. I still go to Ward when I have mechanical questions regarding my toyota and he has always made me feel like I picked the right shop, Import Automotive Repair Modesto. Got me a Mechanic as good as my Doctor.

Referred to this place by a family friend and Ward was very kind. I get nervous taking my cars to mechanics I dont personally know cause sometimes they take advantage of the fact that I know nothing about cars, but Ward was so reasonable and fixed my car for a good price.
