Wonderful selection of footwear. Staff had good customer service skills. Hats, earrings, shoes laces and other footwear products. Nice, friendly atmosphere to make your selection.

This store is a “must visit” when in Missoula. The employees were wonderfully attentive and the owner was great. They patiently guided me through my journey of becoming a first time Birkenstock’s owner… so much so, that I came out with TWO pairs. 😊There’s no wondering how they’ve been in business for so long… they are great people.

I visited this store today and was completely ignored by the staff; they didnt acknowledge my presence, they didnt offer to assist me, they didnt even make eye contact with me. Its like I wasnt even there. One of the young men working there never even looked up from his phone the entire time I was there. Needless to say I wont be back. As another reviewer commented, I try very hard to buy local even if it means paying more. But sometimes buying online is just unavoidable.

They do not always have the size you want in the color you want. However the selection is great for Montana shoes. This is not where you find ballroom dancing shoes or elegant heels. The customer service is amazing.

Do not take your shoes there for repair!!!!! Brought In My first ever burks which were light grey had sentimental value to me. First off they didn’t check to see if my footbed was in stock so the repair took longer than expect. After that they gave me back a basic pair of black burks and called me the liar because their repair filing system is a joke. Just wear your burks out and buy new ones instead of wasting 85 dollars for them to call you a liar. Do not pay in advance like I did, I would not trust them ever again

Hide and Sole upgraded my Birkenstocks with new soles but the leather straps dirty and dingy. I fixed that with shoe polish something H&S could have easily done.

He took the time to ensure custom fit, was patient, kind and highly knowledgeable. Dont waste your money online or anywhere else. Terrible customer experience, after calling and checking to see if they had the shoes I wanted to purchase, I was told they were in stock and would be open until 6:00 pm. I got in my car and drove the 30 minutes to go and buy them. This should have been a painless and simple purchase. Once I arrived at the store I had to wait outside due to Covid restrictions which I have no problems with. Someone left the store and it was our turn to go into the store and spend our money. I was asked if I had an appointment. No one told me about needing an appointment when I called. I told them I knew exactly what I wanted and I will only take a minute, he reluctantly let us in only to make us use Hand sanitizer. My skin is sensitive to certain things so I kindly asked not to use it. He then told me to leave, I was shocked, to say the least. I cant believe that any business would refuse to serve a customer over hand sanitizer. I would have spent my money in the Missoula economy but now I will just go online and have the shoes that I wanted, shipped to my door.

The ladies who work at Hide and Sole are very professional and helpful. I tried on several shoes before I found the right pair, and I never felt like I was imposing on their time. The reason I didnt give 5 stars is because of today. I went back to Hide and Sole with a coworker and the man helping us wasnt as helpful, but its possible he was tired or having a bad day, and I understand that feeling all too well. Id definitely recommend Hide and Sole as a place to get quality footwear.

I have had the same pair of Birks resoled three times. They are returned in nearly new condition every time. Believe me, they are old but come back with a new life. Hide and Sole, you are miracle workers. Thank you 😊

I like this shoe store. They almost always have a sale so it’s well worth stopping in even if one doesn’t have the money for an expensive (high quality), pair of shoes. I have always found something of quality to buy. They also sell leather for leather crafting. The only bummer is parking but that’s downtown period. Ive had to leave the area due to lack of parking. I don’t mind walking but when the closest spot is 10 blocks away, I have only so much time, and/or it’s winter I skip it. I’d probably go more often if it wasn’t such a pain. Parking meters need your license plate number and change (quarters) or a credit card. When the meter is around the block or far - it’s best to write the plate number down to avoid having to treck back to check again. Just a tip....plan to walk and maybe spend some time in the area.

Dropped in here the day before Christmas Eve thinking it would be a madhouse. I live in a shopping desert when it comes to shoes. I was so impressed by the fact that they actually took the time to measure both my feet and based on my needs, selected 8 or so pairs for me to try on. Thank you so much for having such incredible customer service!!!

I LOVE shopping at Hide and Sole. Beautiful product, knowledgeable staff, inviting atmosphere. In 15 years I have never, not once, had anything other than the best possible experience. One would be hard pressed to find better service. Everyone is always smiling and genuine when they ask how Im doing. Customer service from Nathan is out-of-this-world, amazing! I came in looking for a leather scrap to use to cut out straps for my purse. Nathan came over, asked what I needed, and took care of me from there. He took extra time to cut 2 straps to the width I needed from the leather roll I picked and punched holes in the straps. He went ABOVE AND BEYOND! Scott, this awesome employee deserves a raise!

Dont buy shoes online, buy them at Hide and Sole!Today was the first time I went to Hide and Sole, and I was so impressed by the customer service. Sue was with with me for at least an hour, and she was so knowledgable and patient, and really encouraged me to take me time and find something comfortable. Then she gave me a lot of tips for keeping my shoes in good shape. They have a great line of high quality products. I had tried to buy a pair online before this, and they were too narrow, and then I had to pay $6 to ship them back. So worth it to support a local business and try enough pairs that you find something you like.

Great local shoe store. I recently went in looking for some bicycle friendly commuting shoes. They had just what I needed and they were even on clearance. Hide and Sole even puts a coupon in the ValPak mailers every month like clockwork. All in all a fantastic place to go, but you will pay a little more than some outlet stores. Not 100% but they may do price-matching too.

You can get the same, real sheepskin boots and slippers for much less.I needed a hole in my Duty belt and the did it free of charge.Bought great black leather boots a year ago and they are comfortable, water proof, and less than half what I would have paid anywhere else.

Staff ignored me. There were 4 employees on that I counted and barely anyone in the store. After 15 minutes of staring at shoes, an employee finally talked to me. I asked about styles I liked, he pointed to one vaguely qualifying shoe, told me I was welcome to try it on and walked away. Poor selection for men as well. Skip this shop, unless youre buying leather.

Excellent service and they know their shoes! Excellent variety of great brands and they can order what they dont have. Check out the sale wall, too, for deals. They also have leather if you want to use it for crafts.

I have wide feet and have a terrible time finding comfortable walking shoes. The Hide and Sole person spent well over an hour bringing out shoes. I bought one pair in the store and she ordered 2 other pairs (not in stock in my size) and shipped them to me to try out. Excellent service and great selection to choose from.

They completely replaced the cork and sole of my old, beat up Birkenstocks. I had thought that Id have to trash them, but no. Now they are good as new. I have been a customer of Hide and Sole since 1981, and have never been disappointed with them. Nice people, experienced pros... 5 stars

Outstanding customer service. Very patient. They take the time to get to know me and my feet. This is so important to me because I have a long history (prior to Hide n Sole) of foot pain, sprained ankles, Morton’s neuroma, etc. I can find shoes that fit well, are comfortable all day, and look fabulous.

Ashley was the best part of my trip ...i went there in hopes of finding a shoe to help ease my pain of 9hour shifts on cement floorsShe measured my feet and even tho they were total different sizes and width she was not going to give up on me ..Afyer trying seceral diffrent ones we finally had a winnerDanskos XP20..they were just a bit off on the top right of my right ...she knew excatly how they should feel and knew her stuff she said it would need a bit of stretching and to pick them up tomorrow...and if after a week of breaking them in if i was not pleased to bring them back no problem ..REALLY?....WOW!...everyone who worked there was friendly..Ill never go anywhere else ...when it was ogg shoes decades ago it was the only place my parents would take me for shoes and now im back againThumbs up Hide and sole i plan to buy all my shoes from now onThere⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The staff is wonderful. They are friendly and knowledgable but the store is outrageously over priced. I was in last weekend looking at a pair of Ahnu sandals for $126. I found them same exact pair online for $47. Not sure how that kind of a mark up is justified. I would love to shop local and love the store but will not be returning unless prices are made a bit more realistic.

I paid to park in downtown Missoula and walked to the store. I was there 16 minutes before they opened. There was an employee inside who looked up at me, then went back to sitting at the counter. I walked back to my car and bought what I needed from Amazon.I try to shop local to support local businesses. If they dont care about my business, I dont need to care about theirs, right?
