I took some film to the Dark Room for the first time a couple weeks ago, and the process couldn’t have been any smoother, more professional or more personal. Michael, the owner, is a trove of knowledge and incredibly personable and friendly. And he cares about doing a good job. I got my scans back today and I look forward to taking more film to him. This place is also a must-see if you’re into vintage cameras.
The owner Mike is awesome! I came in to develop some film from a disposable camera and left with the coolest Canon film camera! Mike is very knowledgeable. He helped me pick out the right camera for what I was looking for, helped me get it set up, and made sure I had all the right parts to get started! For someone who knows nothing about film photography I left feeling confident knowing that I can come back and ask Mike any question I have. Missoula is lucky to have an awesome shop like this.
I had like 30 rolls of OLD film I found in my moms things after she passed. Took it to The Darkroom and they have been able to get pictures!! This film is very old so we were not hopefull!!
This place is the best! Personal, friendly service. Very concerned about their customers. Prices are very reasonable.
Great place. If you love film photography you will like it here.
Very nice shop.
Best help with cameras around :)
Great place, they know their stuff!
The best place to make quality prints. I miss this place :((I moved)
Great independent store run by a helpful guy
This is a great place to go for all your photography equipment! I purchased a flash for my Camera here several years ago and because I hadnt used it I couldnt get it to work. The owner was so helpful and nice. He got me up and running in a few minutes! I will definitely go here for anything I need in the future.
Awesome place that has everything you could need!
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!! Cant say enough great things about this place/Mike, the owner. I hope more people keep using and developing film. I have has some horror stories of large companies developing my film. Prices are the same as send outs I used to do, and the quality is guaranteed! You KNOW where it is, who is handling it, and youre supporting local business. Love this place. If you dont mind walking a bit, you can park across from the Art Museum for 20 minutes for free and walk a couple blocks.
Tim, the guy that developes my black and white film at the darkroom, has helped me develop my photography leaps and bounds past what I was doing prior. Micheal, the owner, always has answers to my odd questions that cant be answered by Google or YouTube. Truly a space that cant be replaced.
The owner is the OG. Super awesome guy. very helpful.
Owner is a nice guy. Processing is done onsite, and a better price than the places that send out your film. Plenty of older lenses and cameras for sale. Film may cost more than online, but you know you wont be getting an expired roll and theres a good variety available.
Very knowledgeable staff. Great selection of older cameras.
Awesome place. Good place to get used lenses for a bargain.
Great help! An excellent local store. I highly recommend you check out what they have before buying online.
There is no place I have ever found that does as good a job with film as this place. Not even close. They could charge $100 a roll and I would still go there without hesitation. I wish I had more money so I could spend it at this camera shop.
A honest hard-working man owns and operates a fair small business with lots of cool stuff ..
Pretty good as a matter of fact. Got a sharp copy of a sigma lens at a reasonable price. They also do rentals.
Went in to sell some old camera gear and Michael took great care of me and was very kind.
I get all my 35mm film developed here. Have been for years. I also had some old film slides from my grandpas collection converted to digital. A Missoula staple that I hope to use for many years to come
Grateful this business exists in Missoula. Ive had negative and slides scanned and photos developed, and Im always pleased with the service and results.
Always friendly and prompt service. Film always turns out great. Fair prices on equipment, and they’re always willing to answer any questions.
The staff was incredibly helpful with a rush print job that I needed to get done. Uploaded and delivered in record time. Thank you!!
The gentleman who runs the show in the dark room is a great guy.
This place is awesome. If you actually want to get decent deals on cameras, lenses and film this is it. Also Michael the owner is SUPER knowledgable, helpful and kind.
Very friendly and helpful service. I am a novice and I felt very comfortable being here after a few visits.
Michael at the darkroom is very friendly and helpful, but developing time is quite inconsistent. Ive gotten film back in a day and Ive gotten it back in three weeks - it just depends on how busy he is and whether or not his equipment is working.
Best place around to find vintage gear. Excellent!
They do a nice job developing pics. Also, they sell quality films (Ektar/Portra) and have a good selection of old school cameras.
A really great spot for your photo needs
Excellent prices on used cameras and antique film.
Not an accessible location as it is downstairs. Other than that it looks like a nice store.
Excellent source for older lenses, plus 120 film.
Great service and experience! 👍
Missoula is lucky to have a place like this
Amazing. So helpful.
Good, quick service
The sole remaining place to find all your film requirements.
Ok staff
