The bookstore is great. A must visit for those Griz fans coming to campus. I always find some cool piece of Griz gear and the staff are always pleasant.

Very organized, they make it very easy to buy, rent, and return books. And the store is the ideal place to purchase Griz gear and team wear.

I really like the selection of griz attire. Also their art supplies section is out of this world! I find things here for any kind of art making process ...EVER!! Keep it up UM Bookstore!

Well- I guess shame on me for assuming a University Bookstore would be just a small step above a shady Amazon subsidiary and I guess also shame on me for not scouring my purchase agreement for clauses allowing them to ship me New books when I order Used ones.In so much that I ordered a book, it arrived and it was the correct title- 5 stars. But like previously mentioned- I ordered a used book because I wanted to save 30$ and it didnt indicate it was out of stock. But I understand- as we are a primitive society without the latest in technological trends, why would I expect a University with presumably profound wealth to be able to keep reliable stock totals up to date on their website- say for example like an Etsy website ran out of someones basement selling christmas ornaments made out of chicken bones.I was immediately informed when I called (almost before I could finish describing what had happened) of their policy as it relates to 0 Accountability (Im just assuming that is the header for that subsection of their screw students paying for things with loans policy pamphlet) and it went something like, we reserve the right to send you whatever the heck we want and if you dont like it, return it. This way- when you get a foam hand with Griz on it instead of a textbook, its yours unless you want to deal with returning it.Forgive me for never once in my life of ordering things online having come across a policy that reserves the right to send me something I never agreed to. Why should I even select what Im ordering? Wouldnt a randomized sample produce almost identical results? Next time Ill just order Stuff - Qt 1 and pray that it just so happens to be the specific book I want for my class.Order Fulfillment - 5 StarsCustomer Service - 5 StarsGetting What I Paid For - 17 Erasers and a Sweatshirt.

Between 2009-2014, I would have given the art area 5 stars. This was an amazing place to find quality art supplies. The staff was friendly, and quite knowledgeable.Currently, the art supplies area is no longer the oasis it once was. There is no staff in the art section. Those who help you want nothing more than to get back to their original task. I went into buy plaster, and the guy turns around and leaves before I can even say that I want two. He gets back, I tell him I want two and then looks offended like I wasted his time. The once wondrous selection of supplies has been whittled down to the bare minimum by corporate Karens who only care about profit. The complete 180 shift away from a legitimate place to buy quality art goods to Walmart style is quite shocking. Frankly, UM students deserve better.

Use Amazon. These guys ran out of books immediately. Then B&N have terms in their online orders that allowed them to automatically change my order from a used cheap book to being for a new fully priced book, with me now paying full new price. Also it took a week and a half to get in these books, with 0 updates along the way of the upgrade or shipping progress. Generally not worth the hassle unless youre getting all new books

Horrible value, horrible customer service. Im a local artist who has been shopping at the University of Montana bookstore for years, the prices are never great, but on the occasion that my normal suppliers are out of stock or I just need something quickly, the bookstore has always been a reliable, if not expensive second option. My normal suppliers have been out of plaster, so I went to the bookstore today (11-16-19) prepared to pay more than double what I usually do, but what I wasnt prepared for was how poorly I was treated by the staff.Firstly, I was followed around by a staff person working in the art supplies area as if they were making sure I wasnt going to steal anything. Fair enough, I know businesses need to look out for that sort of thing, and I didnt recognize this staff person, so presumably they would have no way of knowing that Id been coming there for years. After they got my plaster, they then followed me up to the checkout area, where a round-faced middle aged man working the checkout area immediately started talking sh*t about my general appearance and clothing, weird flex, but okay. After I checked out, he then followed me all the way to my car even though I said I didnt need any help. Im guessing they were worried I might steal the cart the plaster was on?Over the years I have purchased many a bag of material and wheeled many a cart out to my car sans escort from the bookstore, but evidently those days are over. Im not even mad, Im just disappointed and slightly bemused by the absurdity of my experience with the staff at the bookstore. Not that anyone cares, but youve just lost and longterm, loyal, albeit shabbily dressed customer.

I wish I could put 0 stars. I am a distance student at UM and for two semesters I tried to order my books directly from the bookstore. Both shipments took over a week just to process and both times they were mysteriously not shipped (even though I selected and paid for rush shipping in the first case) and resulted in me not having my books until 2 weeks after classes had started. I will not be ordering from them again and I would suggest if you would like your textbooks in any amount of reasonable time you steer clear of this bookstore.

University is so interested in pandering to visitors for sports games that the bookstore for students has turned into a glorified merchandise shop. Its been so gutted its difficult to find anything students actually need, technology, supplies, and textbooks are crammed into tiny corners to make room for clothing nobody wants, and selection for anything is extremely limited and overpriced. Bookstores main interest is letting you LOOK like you have school pride but is fitting with the recent main UM theme of not giving us much to be prideful of.

A wide and varied selection of all kinds of books with standard prices make this a fairly decent bookstore on its own, but unless youre a student at the University of Montana you might be able to find a better deal somewhere else. There is also a decent selection of school and office supplies available.Come here if you cant find a book you want anywhere else or happen to be in the area, or if you need some good school supplies.

The store itself is good, but I am very displeased with the womens selection of Griz gear. The styles are either outdated or meant for the younger ages (as in preteen to teen) - it makes me think of the kind of stuff Id find in Rue 21. Please, if you sell womens shirts, have them in more practical styles. Stop with the low boat neck lines and crop tops and extremely awkward sleeve lengths. Is it too much to ask for a womans shirt that doesnt look unflattering on someone older than 16?
