As a first time buyer, I didnt know what situation my vehicle was in and having Iron Horse come to pick it right up when I got the courage to call is a huge experience. Cold weather, stupidity on my part twice (left the tailgate down/light on and left the headlights on) and a very remote location with ZILCH for cell or internet service was providing extreme stress under the circumstances. It took my road service company a long while to find you (thats on them not you) and then you showed up far ahead of schedule. You were kind, courteous, understanding and a huge help to me. Great Job. My teenager broke down the night before, and after hours of failed attempts to get towed through my insurance I was told Iron Horse was assigned. I impatiently called Iron horse and was informed they had not been dispatch yet. They were able to get a driver out to me within about 30 minutes. My drivers name was Nemo. He was a high energy happy young man and ultimately his upbeat attitude made my day. Hes a great asset to Iron Horse and Im grateful for his wonderful service!!!

Excellent service from these folks. Got towed in on Saturday and they got me back on the road as soon as they could when the mechanic was in on Monday. Felt heard and respected through the whole process. Made having a starter die while being thousands of miles from home more manageable.

Scott was absolutely awesome to work with he was very polite,courteous, and professional. We had a log truck with a self loader on it that went over in the big hole . Scott and his crew put that thing back on its wheels so fast they just made it look easy. The driver of the truck is ok he had some serious bumps and bruises but thank god hes healthy.

We made a bonehead move and tried to drive through what we thought was snow up in the mountains. It turned out there was a thick layer of ice underneath and we got stuck. We went through our insurance companies roadside assistance (all we needed was to be winched out) and after 7 hours of phone calls and waiting we still had no help. We decided to find our own company as it was starting to get dark. We googled tow companies and Iron Horse Towing came up so we called. My wife was really upset by this time and the owner calmed her down and reassured her he knew exactly where we were and would have someone out to us in about an hour. He was upfront with his pricing and accurate on the eta. He even texted us when his driver was 10 minutes away. Before you knew it we were out and on our way home. Kudos to Scott (the owner) and Devon (the driver). If you are ever in Missoula Montana and need roadside assistance we highly recommend you call these guys. True professionals.

Well our Class A diesel motor coach suffered a major fuel leak on a high pressure line leaving us dead on an off ramp of 1-90 in the middle of nowhere Montana. After several hours of trying, our motor coach road side assistance was able to locate a tow company capable of, and willing to tow our 43 foot, 22 ton rig. This is the first time (and hopefully last time) our coach has needed a tow. It was pure good luck that our roadside assistance hire Iron Horse Towing. Nate was awesome, the tow took hours but we didn’t mind because Nate took the time to be careful and loaded our rig in a slow systematic process and repeated that same level of care unloading it at the repair shop. Towing these big rigs is not an easy task and requires a special lowboy trailer with winches and attention to detail. I’m happy to report our tow was successful meaning our coach was delivered to the repair shop, safe and sound with no damage! Thank you Nate and Heather!

Amazing!!!! Slid into a ditch while rounding a corner on a snowy day. Called them and they said they would be there in 45 minutes! Which turned out to be 35-40. Right on time. Very quick! Pulled me out in two minutes not even. So quick! Will call iron horse towing from now on. So thankful for their services!

We called for a tow and informed the dispatch that we need to take this truck to nearby Freightliner dealers. As Freightliner dealers were 4.5 miles from Loves, Nicole in dispatch quoted us $ 350 FLAT for the tow as they usually charge 350 an hour for the towing and we asked them to send a truck. Next thing, we got a call from Nicole after 20 minutes that she got her driver- the owner of the business himself hooked to the tractor and tow bill is $ 625 now and DEMANDED payment right at that time since these guys knew that they are trying to rip us off. We told them at the very moment that we are never had this amount approved for this tow. She replied that if we wont approve these charges they will add up the charges and charge us more instead. Which they actually did and we ended up paying $ 790 even though they were approved within 20 minutes.I would recommend every person to report these guys if they put you in trouble, each and every incidence need to be reported to eradicate these kind of crooks.

Cannot recommend highly enough. Broke down on I-90, called for assistance. Tow driver arrived 5 minutes BEFORE the ETA they gave me, towed my rig back to Missoula, and even dropped me at a local motel. Above and beyond service. Friendly and professional staff.

One simple mistake of being in reverse instead of 1st gear meant I was in a ditch far up Pattee Canyon at the end of a narrow logging road. I was told I might need a special vehicle to get it out; one on tractor tracks and could swivel. I showed the owner Scott the photos of the area and my vehicle. He thought he could do it with a standard wrecker. I expressed concern of payment if it turned out he needed the special equipment, but he said he wouldnt charge me if that ended up being the case.Long story short, he was right and he got up out of the ravine without any damage. My skid plates may helped a lot there, but regardless he was very reassuring and got the job done. Ive never needed towing before, so Im not a reliable source for pricing, but it was far better than Id feared (I feared over $1000) and was very much willing to work with my budget.My plan is to never need a tow again, but should I need it I would definitely seek their help again.

Lost a front wheel hub on my F350 at 1 am while pulling a camper. They got to me quickly and Heather the tow driver was awesome! She pulled me back to their shop. The next morning Larry and Sara got going on the fix and had me back on the road that afternoon. Great service!

We needed a tire changed on our RV on a Sunday, holiday weekend. The technician was prompt, friendly and did the job professionally. I would recommend this business.

Ordered them out to lift a machine onto a trailer and they boned me 3.5 hours for 10 minutes worth of work. Said it took them an hour to drive 21 or 22 miles. I wouldn’t recommend using them as all they explained didn’t add up to 2 hours so I hope they like the overpayment from me. I’m one and done with these clowns. Would never use them again. 👎🏼Note: Very defensive & unprofessional as you can see from Scotts response, cant justify padding his bill so he reverts to slander and says I dont know what Im talking about, not a good look Mr Wolff.

Iron Horse Towing is managed and run by folks who choose to ignore basic safety precautions. They’re extremely unhealthy and actively choose to put their customers, clients, employees, and the community at risk. Their choices border on violating city/state laws and mandates. Unbelievably unprofessional.

My grandmother and I broke down in our uhaul towing her car. I will spare the details of how unprofessional uhaul was and instead highlight how grateful we are for Austin and Nemo of Iron Horse. Austin spent all night diagnosing and attempting to repair the multiple problems with our uhaul truck, stayed by our side (2 ladies from out of town, and my grandma is 81) and helped us feel safe on the side of the road at night in Montana, towed our uhaul 120 miles to grandma’s new apartment, and dropped off the keys to us. By the end of it all, we felt almost like family. It is very apparent he and Nemo take pride in their work and truly care for the well being of others. Thank you!!

A couple years ago my car spun off the road in winter near Drummond (maybe 10 miles). Highway patrol called me a tow. Iron Horse Towing was sent. Got towed to Drummond. Was told they’d have to charge extra because they had to come from Missoula- there was a location in Drummond at the time so I don’t know the logic there. Ended up paying roughly $400+. No I don’t have the receipt anymore, wish I did to prove it now, but I was young and naive and trusted that HWP had sent me my best option. It was freezing and I had my dog so it was kind of my only option at that point. I was just going to leave things be until a friend had a bad experience yesterday. A VERY unprofessional and rude/hurtful sign about public safety and the mask mandate was posted on their door- that I do have a picture of and would be happy to share upon request. (Just gonna upload it to their photos)This company is cancelled in my book.

Great dudes, from a local trucker these guys know how to operate in the worst that Montana can throw at you.And for all those folks out there getting all worked up over a little gallows humor on a tow truck boom. I dont reckon too many of you folks have worked HUNDREDS of fatality accidents in your lifetime, you either minimize some painful stuff, or you go insane, just be thankful there are real men out here who can handle these conditions that would snap you like a dry twig.

Needless to say, it was a very upsetting day. The owner was amazing and understood my concerns. Iron Horse rescued our truck without us, as we had to abandon it overnight when it was stuck and another company couldnt get it out (underpowered, older tow truck). Not only did Iron Horse pick up our vehicle and tow it back to their shop, they took pictures of it for us in situ, and stored it for us for several days until we could pick it up from them. Would give 0 stars if I could. They took my money but didnt tow my vehicle. They bumped me for a 911 call and I was unable to stay longer and wait, they assured me it would be taken care of and it was not. My car died at a business and now Im paying big bucks to reclaim it since the business had it towed. I would have taken care of it had I know but not even a phone call or anything. Dont waste your money.

I locked my car out and was a little apprehensive about calling Reds after reading the reviews here. The dispatch lady was a bit less than personable, only reason I gave them a four out five. They got to my car within 20 minutes and he had unlocked it in under five. David gave me awesome customer service and I really appreciated his help. I just wanted to throw my two cents in since all the reviews here are so bad. I had a good experience!

I was driving a 20 ft U-Haul truck with my Jeep loaded on a trailer from Savannah, GA to Seattle, WA when we broke down on I-90 at the Montana/Idaho state line. U-Haul Roadside Assistance contracted Iron Horse Towing and Repair to come out and see if it was repairable. Austin was dispatched from Missoula, MT and arrived in a reasonable amount of time given the remote location of our truck. He was thorough in his assessment of the damage and quick to begin coordinating a tow truck. His patience and professionalism helped us organize what needed to be done next in order to minimize the impact on our travel plans. The truck and auto transport were towed back to Missoula that night and were in their repair shop before it opened the next morning. We owe a big THANK YOU to Austin, his boss, Scott, and Kenny in their repair shop for getting us back on the road as soon as possible!

Iron Horse Towing provides exceptional customer service in a timely manner when you need it most. I had my car towed on one occasion and rented a uhaul trailer from this company also. We had some issues with uhauls rental system. Kenny was a pleasure to work with while solving those problems for us and getting us on the road.
