Hudsons Hardware is my hardware store in the neighborhood and I am quite satisfied. I was sorry to hear that they suffered loss in May/June 2020 while sadness swept over our city. I hope and pray their business is stronger and more profitable than ever. Peace on earth.
Employees are always very helpful. Even during the covet times, they helped get the products you needed and got them out to you very quickly.
I love this place. I am happy to support a family-owned small business that always goes above and beyond to get you that weird little specific thing you need for the house. Can’t say enough about the value of the staff, their knowledge and helpfulness. In the long run, it’s much cheaper supporting a place like this with customer service, time-savings, piece of mind, etc. than saving a buck online.
Amazing service. As a young female with limited power tool experience, I was helped immediately upon entering the store and the staff worker took me around the store showing and explaining everything I would need for my specific project and how to use it. Would highly recommend!
Fantastic service. Theyre always happy to answer any questions and help you figure out exactly what you need to do a job.
Family owned and operated local hardware store
THE WORST EXPERIENCE DURING THE WORST OF TIMES. I would normally say that Im outraged. But in this time of crisis I will just say that I am sorely disappointed by the lack of service, the deplorable attitude and the blatant disregard for the customer experience at Hudson Hardware. The COVID 19 crisis has made everything we do more challenging and essential services are just that. Essential, for both the people AND the business, because we all must survive this. I think its fair to say that when this crisis is past, we will remember and be grateful for those businesses that were there for us, that courageously remained open and helped us procure what little goods we could get, and that we needed to keep us feeling sane. I think its also fair to say that this is a time of great opportunity for people and businesses alike to show each other compassion, fortitude and integrity. Well....NOT SO for this sleepy little neighborhood hardware store that Ive worried for in the past due to lack of customers even in the best of times. It seems they have chosen to plummet into a place of being self centered, self absorbed and down right self righteous in every aspect. Heres what happened. We went in with our masks and gloves on to get some screws, nuts and bolts. As usual there were only a handful of customers in the store. There was a manager in the center, standing behind a desk, arms folded, barking orders at 3 employees on the floor. We asked one of the employees for some assistance. He then asked the manager if it was okay if he went to the back of the store with us(?). The manager said in a very loud almost hostile voice. Yes, but if I need you up here youll have to come back immediately. No sooner than we got to where we were going, he was called back to help another customer. YES! He was called away from helping us to help someone else. As my partner tried to find what we needed on her own, I wandered around a bit and noticed that the manager continued to just stand there behind the desk as two employees stocked shelves, the other standing at the cash register. After hitting a dead end in finding what we needed, my partner then went back to the manager and said. I need some help. He turned around and barked. Cant you see were swamped?!! I said. Well. Maybe YOU could help us find what we need instead of standing behind your desk? He yells at me. IM DIRECTING! I was so taken aback I didnt have the where with all to ask just exactly why or what he was directing. We just left. As I said earlier, these are challenging times for everybody, especially our essential workers and businesses, but are these times so unprecedented that we cant expect to be treated with dignity? In this time in which we are being forced to slow down I invite everyone who reads this review to take some of the extra time at hand and think about what CAN we expect, if anything? How do we want to treat each other and how do we wish to be treated right now? I dont expect sunshine and rainbows from every essential worker with which I interact, but I also dont expect to be humiliated... Memory being what it is I know it will be the only thing I remember about Hudson Hardware and that makes me sad, but I wont go back there. I will miss Bolt the resident cat very much.
Local & very personable, a great place for hardware and advice for projects
Very friendly and helpful staff. They found a solution for me instantly and agreed to order the extra items I needed. Would highly recommend. Also, awesome cat.
Its lucky I live within walking distance because otherwise Id be forever going out of my way to get here. A delightful place filled with truly kind and helpful people (and a cozy cat). They are always happy to teach me whatever I need for my current project while never pressuring a purchase. Its cliche, but this is the kind of place that just doesnt seem to exist anymore. Go here instead of a big box and youll never regret it.
Very nice local hardware store. I was greeted immediately upon entering the store and offered assistance to find what I needed. Very friendly and helpful folks there. My only regret was that I arrived too late in the day to get the store cat.
Great customer service. They helped me find just exactly the nuts and screws I needed to fix my roof rake, and then helped me attach them. The shop has a friendly, mellow cat that likes to be petted.
Always providing the BEST service! Ive been in there regularly over the past 5 years for all sorts of random things.Hyper-knowledgeable superstars who always try to help and never upsell! I love them!In the rare case they dont carry something I need or if what they carry isnt a perfect fit, theyve recommended other businesses that can help (including big-box retailers and other small businesses). The best first stop for any home improvement or fix-it project!
The helpful staff allowed my dog inside, even gave him treat.
Ive been coming here for years, I cant tell you how much money, time and frustration they have saved me. Not only are they closer than a big box store, they have helped me fix things with a few parts rather than replacing for more $$$ and throwing away perfectly good fixtures and faucets etc. Theyre not only handy, but also helpful and friendly neighbors!
The staff are always very helpful at this store. It is neat and well organized. Plus the resident cat is a real bonus!
Always a great experience at Hudsons. Locally owned neighborhood folks who offer sound advice when needed. Thanks Hudsons! My faucet is drip free!
A wonderful, nicely stocked local neighborhood hardware store. Everyone is helpful, pleasant and more than happy get what you need.
Very scary. Very rude members, would not recommend, I got scared and left. Got stared at very much
The staff at Hudson are really knowledgeable and helpful. Theyve walked me through plumbing, electric and construction projects. They have a much better selection of fasteners than most box stores, and sell me one nut and bolt, if thats what I need. They are an asset to the neighborhood.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff! Plus, added bonus of the prettiest, friendliest little shop cat, Bolt. Cant wait to visit again
Helpful, great customer service, and dog friendly - theyre my favorite local small hardware store.
Love Hudson Hardware! Great location, super friendly and helpful staff - I definitely recommend them to anyone in the area!
You can get nuts and bolts at any ol hardware store.. this one, however, is run by a super cool family and they have the awesome-est cat ever living there.
Great store, always friendly when I come in. The staff is knowledgeable of their products and can assist me in whatever I throw at them. Beats the cold, non-helpful big box stores.
Ive been going to this store for many years and Jim and his family are incredibly helpful.
Very helpful and friendly staff! Family owned.
Great friendly people. A cool cat too☺
Always treated well and a great local store. Hours are wrong on Google though. They close at 7pm not 8pm.
Really great staff. No pushy salesman types and the in-store cat is a nice feature.
Professional staff who take social distancing measures seriously even in a crowded store
There is always someone there to help find what Im looking for. Great place.
Best hardware store in the Twin Cities!
Wonderful service and advice every time! Always helpful and they always give my dog a treat!
Best one on one service in the South metro.
Above and beyond service! Had to replace my blinker light on my car and the owner took the time to install it for me on a super hot day.
Nice neighborhood hardware. Shop locally!
Helpful staff, easy to quick get what you need for your projects
Very helpful and friendly service!
