The best natural food coop in the Twin Cities with a large selection of bulk food, spice, herb items and a wonderful beverage-coffee shop as well as local fresh meat and organic meat. I only wish the neighborhood was safer. Perhaps this will start to turn around after this last election.
Love the bulk section and the cheese makers and butchers are always quick to ask if you need anything. We love the selection of fruit and vegetables!
My Spouse Mark and I Love the Wedge Coop.We have been shopping here for way over 20 years. They have off street parking when available. The food is good. Be sure to bring your own bags.-Troy Stewart-
My first time in this store and everyone was so helpful and polite.Very clean and organized.
Great place for bulk supplies so you can reduce your plastic waste. Produce is always well-organized and fresh. Very helpful staff and overall a huge asset to the community.
Best co-op ever. Great staff, friendly and very knowledgeable. Produce selection is fresh and abundant. Good prices.
The prices are ridiculous. Everything is the same. I would never waste my money here again. You can get the same things at trader Joes all these Aldi, for a fraction of the cost.
Everything an earth conscious shopper could ask for and more. Plenty of locally sourced, organic produce; a great hot food bar; lots of attentive and helpful staff. A gem and a staple of the community
My favorite store. Staff is so Awesome. I find all my healthy foods and products at this location. Again. Awesome. Staff.
The bakery is closed without explanation? Also, please bring back the mint brownies and vegetable quessadillas. We LOVE the Wedge like nowhere else. The meat shop is outstanding. Lots of change though....
This has been my primary grocery store for 3 years, and I’m actually quite sad to be moving away.Lovely people and outstanding produce.
Great! Friendly people ready to help. Lovely store I definitely will be back.
Staff tried to be helpful but didnt know the store well. They are also a little pricey. Many of the items i looked for they didnt have in stock, so I ended up leaving empty handed. Not likely to return unless Im desperate because its in my neighborhood.
Love this place!I get smoothies at least once a week and enjoy their premise salads. Lots of variety!
Great experience shopping at the wedge! Lovely, fresh produce, excellent bulk coffee, delicious baked goods and thanks to Nell, a cheery cashier who gave me some great recipe ideas.
Appreciated a grocer that provided conscientious goods that also catered to our familys diet as we needed items and were visiting from out of town.
Nice selection but PLEASE re open your tables. That was one of the best things about the co op.
Fancy natural grocery store with a good cheese counter and cafe. Great salad bar!
Such an amazing place with better prices than most co-ops! Love the deli so much!!!
This 5 star review is specifically for Abby at the butcher shop.Thank you for the hospitality. When one is at piece with life it shows.
I absolutely love The Wedge!!! This Co-op has local and organic foods at a reasonable rate especially when you sign up to be a member you get discounts through out the store including the Juice bar which serves more than juice, but there are also health and wellness drinks, tonics, shots and smoothies all organic. I have been a member for 5 years and I absolutely love it there.
Two words Quality and Wholesome. This place is on the pricey side of things. But, Quality and Wholesome food is what you getting. But being a Co-op member has its benefits so sign up and get cool discounts and perks.
My favorite place to buy spices in bulk and its so much cheaper that way
I had a wonderful time here😁. I have to come go back and try there fresh cooked Bakery goodies😋. Plus, yummy food 🤗
This co-op grocery is one of best. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming! Wedge believe less in pre-packaged foods, which gives me freedom of adjusting the size of each grocery item I am purchasing. It is like opposite to bulk buying without sacrificing cheap prices, I live alone so I tend to need less than average size. They have great plant-based options for vegan shoppers. Most fresh produce are organic, yummy and healthy! They have a cute section of gifts and cards. I am often tempted to overbuy groceries and stuffs from this wonderful shop! They practice pandemic safety precautions well.
Updated: from 4 to 2 stars.Shopped an almost $500 order on 7/25/2021 at 9am and received the worst checkout Service. The order was 2 full carts. The Cashier was not very welcoming. I didn’t not receive any courtesy help and was not even asked seeing how large the order was! Nells curt indifference is what made me update my review. I’ve shopped here many times before and have never been treated this way.
My coop of choice, always affordable to buy in bulk and always has the latest in plant based finds and goodies! The people are always so kind and helpful and knowledgeable as well. The take out food is always delicious, cravable and fresh. Sometimes we cant help but go out to eat here for a date night. Ha ha ha. Coming from Duluth we didnt have to renew our membership as often and for the higher price I dont feel that necessary here, for me personally with a two person household, living on a budget. However no hate on the membership, the deals are great, and I can see it as a good thing for some people! Thank you for doing you -- Wedge! Appreciate ya.
Excellent selection Ive been going here since it was a little tiny store you can find things here that are hard to find elsewhere
I love this place! The groceries are amazing and there are so many unique options. Its a little expensive, but great quality!
Love this store lots of good produce prices are a little high
Lots of neat stuff in cosmetics I didnt really look around at anything else
The Wedge Co-op has led the way in supporting unionization, the store is bright and warm and well-stocked, the variety from basics to luxuries is almost breathtaking, and theyre definitely doing a fine job of maximizing safety for both their welcoming and astute workers, and their customers....(neither of which they could exist without!)... during these pandemic times.I love that they still support a big bulk selection, which is much more intelligently organized than some, and their variety in general, is the best I have seen in any Co-op in the U.S.!
Awesome coop, wish they would go back to being veg only. Those were the years.
I like the convenience for me its right around the corner the prices are kinda high but convenient
Started producing less waste and the wedge was the only place where I could find bulk pastas and the widest variety of items for bulk purchase. You can bring your own jars or purchase from their selection. Milk bottles can be returned and bread has a cabinet like system so there are many types of bread to buy in bulk.By the way, these fruit slices are ADDICTIVE.
I stayed in Minneapolis for 3 months a frequented Wedge weekly. I was blown away by their organic fruits and vegetables. I am from down south and had never seen a place like this. We would go and buy 5 different kinds of fresh ground coffee and taste test all week. I was also fond of their tiny cheese samples you could buy. We had several charcuteries made possible by Wedge!
The Wedge is a pretty great CoOp. I like their soft serve and deli items.
One Of The Hapi-Est Places On EarthPeace & Thankh U Alllll...
I love this place, but I love most coops, however what stands out here is the lovely selection of bulk, all types of ingredients including coffee, syrups and honeys, nuts, flowers, teas, all sorts of spices. Especially when you don’t use an ingredient a lot, it’s nice to just pick up a little bag of it. Also the coffee prices in the bulk sections are amazing.
They got a coffee shop. They got a deli. I have everything you need. I buy all my food from co-ops. They have some really good hot food.
Wonderful co-op, great selection! Loved it!
Some things were expensive bc its like those indie vegan brands but some things were a good value! Look for the big price tags that say wedge if you wanna save money. Private gender neutral restroom was nice!
Love the wedge. The location is a deterrent because of the traffic and being cut off fro. Entering and exiting. Maybe another way some how to do that on a less busy street
Excellent selection of organic foods and homeopathic medicines. The Golden berries (a.k.a. Cape Gooseberries) are amazing. I have never eaten them before. Tart & tasty. Good source of vitamin C.
Always friendly Stagg & great variety of foods to fit many different diets
I love this store. Its always clean & has a friendly atmosphere. It has an excellent variety of unique food items, prepared & packaged. Also, many organic & bulk choices. Excellent meat & fish market. Very nice selection of cheeses too. And dont miss the bakery, coffee shop & fresh produce.
It took me a while to warm up to this community and I finally joined. There are plenty of good sales and discounts to offset the high prices. They also have a program to reduce food prices if one relies on EBT. The people in each of the departments will go out of their way to help you find what you want. This is a topnotch cooperative and is well worth several visits until you become familiar. I think you will like it!
Set a timer been to the wedge in about 2 months are really good steaks seafood and its little spendy on the produce by the way its good
Employees Followed me around like I was going to steal. I told them when I walked in my daughter had fruit with her from the previous store. I volunteered this info. Town minutes later they asked to see my receipt. I will never return
I was staying in Minneapolis only for a month but that was enough to fall in love with Wedge Co-op. An amazing selection of local products and ready-to-eat food. Everything that I tried there was so delicious (chicken pot pie, corn cheese chowder, chicken pesto quesadilla, almond vanilla granola...). I also loved that I could buy as much flour, sugar or organic coffee as I needed, not a 2lb pack Id have never used during one month. The staff was always very friendly. Im going back to NY now and I will really miss this store. It makes me want to move to Minnesota :) thank you for building this community, youre doing an outstanding job!
Best groceries available with noticeably better taste and quality than other grocery stores. Its a bit more expensive, but thats the price for ethically sourced, mostly organic food. Theres also numerous package-free options, including a bulk spice section.
I remind myself when shopping at the Wedge Co-op that I am paying to create and sustain the kind of world in which I want to live. If like my food to be fresh, as local as possible, and I want to feel like someone has supported, vetted, and vouches for the producers. The Wedge does that for me.Sure its more expensive than chain grocery stores, which are filled, aside from conventional produce, with artificially cheap processed food if little interest to me.Additionally, I love that the Wedge owns the Midwest distribution system for Co-op Partners Warehouse, which increases the market for local, sustainable producers.
Great place to shop for seriously high quality organic food!! The bakery is amazing, and I love how they have little things of cheese in plastic wrap for like 70 cents. Its pretty cool. But the selection of kombucha and produce is the best in the area for sure. Bring your own bags though, it really helps. The staff is also VERY nice. I visit this place at least once or twice a month.
I am a member, so I might be biased but the wedge is a great co-op in a great location. Plenty of parking, good produce, wide variety of bulk items,Good dairy choices excellent meat department; it’s all there.
Very friendly staff and an nice array of organic, dairy free, and go vegan options. The produce is what they are known really well for, and their bulk items (fill up on $_ per pound oats, nuts, candy, etc) are based on some pretty good bulk pricing! Nice selection for bulk items as well!Deli, cheese counter, and coffee shop counter sell really good products. And they typically have a hot bar that sells really great to-go meals! ❤️
Friendly, clean and well stocked! You should find what you are looking for. Great health and beauty supplies, too. Vitamins, supplements and natural soap and creams, etc...
They’re staff was awesome and they have great prices
Always a few options available for on-sale produce that’s super fresh. Lots of organic produce. Canned & grocery options are decent prices. Selection of prepared food options is better than other co-ops. Fresh meat has excellent selection—grassfed and corn-finished beef, organic and free range chicken, and locally/regionally-produced sausage, bacon, etc. since I’ve been cooking for a lot of family during Covid, meat selection helps me vary our meals! Always excellent customer service
I love the little cafe. Breakfast burrito was fantastic. Convenient location. Interesting selection. Community focus. Awesome.
Great clean Co-OP. Friendly staff!!
Neat and orderly and well looked after
Great Local place to shop
Excellent grocery store for local produce and specialty products. Great bulk sections, hot food, & butcher counters. The staff are friendly and the store is well kept. I visit regularly but I still find myself at big box retailers for certain staples.
Very fresh, quality produce, many organic goods, wild caught fish, limited variety baked goods and hot bar. Prices are not cheap. Store and parking lot can be cramped.
Was super disappointed in my stop there tonight. I’m pregnant and with covid around, I’ve been trying to shop at places I feel are safer with the current climate. Normally the wedge does really well. They’re strict with masking and letting only a certain amount of people in at a time. Tonight was different. There was no line or person watching the door and it was actually pretty busy. Then I personally watched a man with his mask pulled all the way under his chin go up to 3 different employees and ask them questions. Not one of them asked him to put his mask on.
The employees there are extremely pretentious and self righteous, as well as very passive aggressive... its really uncomfortable going in there because the people actin like theyre better ?.. and it feels like theyre in a cult haha a health food cult... i think they need to relax a little bit theyre super up tight and rudee, like chill its a grocery store... kinda embarrassing to think youre above people cuz u work at a grocery store...
I got in line at 3PM on a Saturday. The woman in line ahead of me gave me an attitude about keeping six feet apart (which I totally was), but the employee at the front of the line had zero time for her attitude. They are only allowing 50 people in at a time, and due to the current events, they closed at 4PM today. I was able to get most of whats on my list within the 15 minutes that I had to shop, and the woman working the express lane was very friendly. I would like to come back here on a less chaotic day when I can really take my time and browse their selection, but until then, I appreciate them being open because they were the only grocery open in the neighborhood this weekend. Stay safe, Minneapolis!
The products and services are always great! Theyre taking the pandemic seriously by limiting the number of customers and cleaning services. Love tje Wedge!
I love that they still support a big bulk selection, which is much more intelligently organized than some, and their variety in general, is the best I have seen in any Co-op in the U.S.!
Fresh, healthy food is so important, especially in this pandemic. The wedge offers healthy choices to nourish our bodies. A little costly, but well worth a healthy lifestyle.
This place is a awesome!
First I will advise you to dial down your sense of entitlement, you are not the only ones who had to brave the pandemic to earn a living. It also helps to give your employees a certain degree of autonomy- I don’t have to discuss with everyone up in the chain of command just to make sense of a simple transaction. Just because I am not a member of your cult and doesn’t look like your primary clientele ....
One of the best grocery store/coops in the TC area, but lets face it, we have an abundance of great coops here. I would especially praise their butcher shop. Their chicken is outstanding and reasonably priced. Also, I will not buy spices anywhere else. The same amount of oregano you pay anywhere from $3 to $5 for in any regular grocery store costs less than a buck and is much fresher.
Too busy on Wednesday may 12. No meat available in premade sandwiches. Very disappointed.
One of the best co-ops around.
Curbside pickup just gets better every week!Turns out the Wedge staff is so much BETTER at choosing than I AM!Hope this service continues far into the futureMany thanks and appreciation for your caring skilled team
Best co-op ever. Really wish I lived closer so I could make this a part of my weekly shopping routine.
A swell joint to grab fresh produce. Free mask if you happen to forget.Hi Alden !
Busy, but not horribly so at 11 this morning. Nice for shopping then
It is so nice inside this store. Only place I can find Shroder milk!
Extremely expensive terrible selection
Affordable and has a great selection of gluten-free and organic items. Very helpful and friendly employees!
Love the wedge, their prices, ouch! But you get what you pay for.
Great selection, friendly staff. Shopped here my whole life. High quality stuff, can be pricey but worth it.
Love 💘the establishment
Had everything we were looking for available. Masks required, but arent forbidding reusable bags. Excellent selection of produce, other items. Bulk food available--they are providing plastic gloves to use the scoops. Social distancing not as clear as at Seward Co-op.
I have been visiting The Wedge for over 20 years. Love this place!
I am in the vulnerable group with respect to the virus and showed up this Tuesday at 8:00 to shop at The Wedge on Lyndale. I am concerned that I ran into numerous problems with social distancing in the store. People were simply not keeping apart from one another, often passing me shoulder to shoulder. My first clue that things were not secure was when three of us were allowed to enter the store directly adjacent to one another. There were clusters of shoppers and employees in the bulk area, making it impossible for me to secure items I wanted without being in proximity to others. I ended giving up shopping in the bulk area. Even as I maneuvered down isles, I ran into employees stocking shelves, sometimes making it impossible to keep a desirable distance. This is remarkably different from my experience at another store last week, and I am disturbed that the Wedge has not worked out a more effective arrangement. A friend of mine has just revealed that she got out of the Wedge as quickly as possible. That was my reaction, and I am intending to put off future visits unless I know things have changed to better protect people like me.
Lovely looking fruits and vegies!
They always have what I need, and like only buy what I need, and everyone so helpful, and Im member,I cant think of shopping any where else.
They have everything youd ever need. Great produce, bakery, coffee, got bar and soft serve. Awesome coop.
Manager threatened to call the police on me because he didn’t like my tone when I said I did not need to go to the express lane. Said I was “combative.” I’m all for helping people check out quickly, but the employees shout “Sir! Sir! sir! from across the store, and it’s just annoying. It’s one thing if I’m 4 feet away from the express and I’m 5th in line. But to have 3 people tell me about the express lane when I’m perfectly content being next in line, and employees are sneaking up right behind me and getting my attention, it’s awkward and weird. I simply pointed that out, and the next thing I know, the manager is saying “you have to use a more pleasant tone next time you’re here.” I told him I disagree, and he threatens to call the cops. This place is so politically charged, I thought they would be against unnecessary police intervention. I didn’t call anyone names, didn’t do anything threatening. Just had an opinion and a “tone” the manager didn’t like. The customer doesn’t have to have any kind of tone to shop at a business, especially when they aren’t causing any harm. And he had the nerve to call me “buddy.” This place is horrible, and I’ve never received any kickback from the membership I signed up for 2 years ago. Never ever shop here.
Old time member of this coop. Very good selection of lots of health food. They abide by 7 coop principles. Produce, mostly organic, always fresh and tastefully laid out. Downside: prices are quite high. Quality is good though, and theyre great about taking most things back if not satisfied. They have needs based program. That translates 10% of on any purchase, every single shopping trip. Membership is much cheaper for needs based. Its honor system, you dont have to prove to anybody you are entitled to it, just quick paperwork and you have completed the process. The managers are great, and the staff very knowledeable. Also, member only specials always going on; for example, just about every week there are member only discounts.
A good selection of food & other products with average costs & friendly service. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is a great place to shop. The atmosphere is very appealing, very clean and organized in an orderly manner.
