Ive had two suits altered here and the quality of work is second to none. The suits I inherited from my dad and were much fuller than I prefer and they were able to adjust everything perfectly for an updated classically leaning fit. I have a couple more suits and a sport jacket that I will also be bringing in for alterations as well.

First-time customer. I brought a pair of suit pants in for a simple hem. Price was fair. Tailor spent very little time pinning and marking the hem. She did not ask any questions, just started marking and pinning. Despite the fact that I specified that I wanted no break in the pants, they were returned to me with a significant break at the shoe. Probably a full inch or 1.5 inches too long. Hem looked like it was done well, just in the wrong place. Sharon called me the next day and offered to redo the hem at no cost, which I appreciated. Professional and courteous, just wish it had been more accurate.

Had them do a little of everything from the basic to the complex & it all came back looking amazing. There was a number of your typical seam fixes & zipper pull replacements. They also made a really nasty snag completely vanish. I honestly only expected so much (thread was intact, but it was a BAD snag). Theres simply no trace of it left. Most notably, they converted a jacket to working cuffs with a contrast button. All work was hand-stitched & it looks/works FANTASTIC (pictured). The buttons have that pleasing little snap when locked in. I really cant say enough about the quality of stitching on those button holes, and the contrast button color suggestion was right on the money. Amazing work happens here.

The employees here are extremely helpful and are very knowledgeable. I have brought in suits that I had tailored at purchase and the pants were too long and the jackets were boxy and not fitted. I brought them to Tailors on Blake and they did a fantastic job of tailoring them to fit me better and not be baggy. Turn around time is usually a week or two depending on how busy they are, but they tell you when you drop off your clothing when it will be done, and they have always met the date when I have brought items there.

Best of the best - professional, high quality alterations. I seriously cannot live without them. And, I love all of the fun merchandise. Always a great experience.

I have had Tailors on Blake do my work on alterations to clothes as well as curtains and drapes. Leather pant hemming too! I have been very pleased with every project result.

Expensive and well sewn but the dress was still half an inch too long. Disappointed in the accuracy for the price.

I come to this place every time I need to have my clothes altered and I have never been disappointed in the services I got. The owner is very friendly, so is everyone who works there, but more importantly they know how to sew nicely, so your clothes look professionally tailored. This is a place you can trust.

I had a suit altered here, and was disappointed to see an incorrect pants hem alteration, as well as incorrect collar alteration. Whats worse, they actually tried to charge me for the work! I didnt argue about the pants hem, but pointed out that the collar was incorrect. That charge was subsequently taken off, but the workmanship here is definitely sub par. I did note that they have several people tailoring, which would explain why I saw so many good reviews before going. My suit was done poorly. I would not recommend this tailor.

Tailors on Blake did a phenomenal job with vintage sport coat and suit alterations. The attention to detail was meticulous and they resurrected some high-quality attire. They made sure to take the time to understand the needed changes and even multiple fitting sessions to ensure everything turned out exactly how I intended. I could not have been more impressed with their professionalism and final product. Highly recommend for a high-quality tailor; they are true professionals.

They are selling masks for $15 during a pandemic where economy is is under stress. Then the owner try’s to cross sell you to buy 2 for $30 for some cloth. The owner is very greedy and very expensive. Not a business that wants to contribute to fight against Covid-19 when they are able to make masks for the public. Weren’t people making them at home and donating them a few weeks ago?

Great tailors! They have a very nice location and the staff is kind. There were able to turn around my alterations quickly and at a reasonable price. I will certainly be coming back in the future!

They were doing all the alterations for multiple items for my wedding, and when my wedding dress returned from a dry cleaner with serious issues- Sharon worked with me to ensure that my dress would be fixed, and it would be done on time, and it was! Very competent tailor. All work Ive had done has been great. Even the difficult stuff other tailors shy away from, like adjusting sleeve length from the shoulder or adjusting collar.

My husband and I have been bringing our garments to Tailors for several years to be altered. The quality of work they do on everything from a hem on a simple pair of chinos, to a ski jacket zipper replacement is top quality. We have been very satisfied with Tailors, and will continue to bring them our alterations and repairs.

Tailors on Blake is the real deal. Very personable, easy-to-get-to location, and (most importantly) they do amazing work.As a custom tailor, an alterations tailor is my greatest ally and I have found Tailors on Blake to be the people I go to with all of my most difficult requests. I went here because the place I bought my bridesmaid dress from recommended it. They told me my alterations were going to be $450 which is double what my dress cost in the first place. I found someone who could alter it for $50 and it looks great. Nice staff, but way overpriced.

I went in asking to get my measurements taken because I’m a local firefighter and our new gear is unisex. I offered to pay for the measurements right away. I actually asked “how much does it cost to have my measurements taken”? The man at the counter looked dumbfounded- as if ‘d asked him to do brain surgery. I assumed that because they are tailors they could take some simple measurements for me. Not only were they unhelpful, but they were rude!!! The only response I got to my request was that a woman came out from the back room, shook her head at me and said “no”. The man behind the counter said they “wouldn’t help me today”. I was very surprised. I tried again to politely explain that I needed some simple measurements and was willing to PAY for them (dress shirt sleeve and neck length and dress pant waist and length). I was simply told “no” and the man actually left from behind the counter. I could not believe it! Why would a small business treat customers this way?! After reading a few other reviews, it looks like I’m not the only one they’ve done this to. Think twice before going here. They are rude and undeserving of anyone’s business!

Tailors on Blake has become an invaluable asset to me and my business. I am a custom tailor, and the work Tailors does has saved many garments from Goodwill. Whether the client has gained or lost weight, or decided he does or doesnt want pleats, buttonholes, etc. Tailors on Blake has done it for us. We appreciate them, and recommend them! Theyre not the least expensive option...but you DO get what you pay for!

They did a wonderful job with a retro winter coat that I brought to them. It was a coat from the 70s, but they did an outstanding job of customizing it for me. They even found retro-looking buttons for the ones that were missing. Could not be happier! Thanks.

These tailors are willing to do detail work that other tailors just wont do. When I pick my clothing up after they fix it, its exactly right every time. My sleeve cuffs are perfectly altered, my patch pockets look sensational, etc. I completely trust their craftmanship, they are a great team.

Very well done. I had them reinforce button holes on a heavy wool coat. I told them how I thought it could work and they did it. I paid high for it but I didnt have to buy a new coat which wouldve been much more

Do NOT go here. They were unfriendly, not helpful and the owner who measured me had absolutely no professional decorum, not to mention a bad attitude. The adjustments made to my dress were so minor that it was almost unnoticeable. When I called the company to ask for a refund, I was hung up on, yelled at and the refund wasnt issued until 5 months later. Absolutely the worst experience. Save yourself the hassel - there are lots of better options out there.

They do pretty good work, but you can find a more reasonable price elsewhere. I ended up paying $100 to get my suit tailored.$50 to bring the jacket sides in.$35 to lower the collar.$13 to hem my pants.

It was much more expensive than I was expecting. I brought my bridesmaid dress there, paid more than I usually would, and they gave it back very wrinkly. There were also threads hanging off the top that I made them cut off. The actual tailoring was good, but I would expect them to press it if I am paying that much for the service.

If you are looking for top of the line tailoring regardless of price - this is your place. However if you would like to be charged a reasonable price - stay away! They were not upfront about their pricing, charged more without informing me, and when I disputed the price change, I was literally yelled at in the store by the owner in front of another customer. Horrible customer service. Not to mention, took two times as long as they said it would.

Been using these people for years and years. Very reliable & they do a great job. They moved a few years ago from Blake Rd & Excelsior Bld to 36th St.. I find myself driving past them more now in the new location. Super easy parking right outside the front door! Give them a try 👍🏻

The ladies were so rude! They commented on how different my WEDDING dress was. How differently it was made. They were disrespectful when I asked for a sewn in bra and they did not take my thoughts into consideration when discussing what alterations would be needed. After I took the dress off, they even asked if the dress needed to be hemmed!Unprofessional and rude. Im so upset and will not be going back.

I was treated disrespectfully from the moment I walked in. I was ignored for a few minutes until someone finally came to the desk and tried to give me a shirt. I explained that I didnt bring anything in but in fact just needed measurements for a suit. I was then told to go try on suits at a clothing store until I found one that fit. They refused to take measurements and left me standing alone at the desk. Maybe they were busy; I dont know what busy looks like at a tailor but there were no other customers in the building. Maybe it was just bad luck since other reviews seem to be glowing, but I personally had a terrible customer service experience so I cannot possibly rate them well.
